− | ====Daughter of Dragons==== |
+ | :Dr. Cesran |
− | A particular avid reader of the Crimson Pen with great hair has recent been able to put together clues from the writing that Lady Sandiel (a woman who used to go by the name Sandrake'ial'unatha before coming to Alexandria) used to be engaged to a dragon! See, her name was actually a direct reference to the draconic blood she too has as it turns out that her grandmother's aunt was actually a chromatic dragon and that blood passed down to Sandy through a twist of fate. Her name Sand DRAKE is a literal from the trade language, with -ial meaning daughter of, and unatha is niece. So you see, she's really the niece's daughter of a real dragon! |

+ | ====Goblin Prophesies End of Alexandri==== |
− | Last night there was a strange commotion in the Lower Market, starting with a number of refugees and homeless being forceably evicted from the alley where they had taken shelter for the night. Under implied threat of violence, the unfortunate victims were escorted to a nearby inn, were they were provided with warm rooms and hot stew. |
+ | From the crackpot file.. |
+ | The local constabulary report having briefly detained a goblin and dark elf whom are prophesizing the end of Alexandria in three weeks. However, despite a claim that ley-portals will open into the city to permit a Fel Army into the market both the Alexandria Artificer's Guild and the Templars of the Holy Sword have clarified that after extensive divination on the topic there is no threat to the city. |
− | Shortly thereafter a large gang of ruffians and ner-do-wells descended upon the alleyway, with carts of likely stolen and illicit goods. Though lights could be seen from the site of the crimes, large tarps had been errected to shield the miscreants from prying eyes. Though the Watch was alerted, they were unable to summon sufficant forces to safely approach during the darkest hours of the night. At this time there is no word if the Guild of Explorers was contacted. |
+ | And yet, sources reported just this morning that bands of adventurers had been dispatched into the Fel Wood to search for signs of Ley Portals within the forest. |
− | Morning light has seen the crime scene scrubbed clean of evidence of what exactly transpired. Also scrubbed clean were layers of dirt and grime, as well as the removal of accumulited trash. There is also a fresh coat of paint, with several of doors and windows to the alley repaired or replaced. One can only imagine what sort of villain would clean and repair one of the poorest parts of the city without fanfare or warning, leaving the poor souls who live there warm and well fed. |
+ | Snarkie's Casino in Gobbertown has been offering 10,000:1 odds against the end of the city with Snarkie himself having said, "I invite anyone who believes this prophecy to come on down and enjoy their last weeks of exsistence! Bet on whether or not we'll survive and if we don't you could die a rich man!" |

+ | ====Cutscene: Undoing an Invasion==== |
+ | [Exterior - Alexandrian Market - Alexandria] |
− | There are a few whispers that there was things were happening at the Lower Trades Market. The problem is, the closer people get to the market district, the less people remember what happened. |
+ | It's an hour before dawn. The expansive lines of stalls are mostly deserted save the odd-merchant who has arrived early to setup and the handful of night's watch who patrol the ground. A small Gobber wanders the lanes between the stalls and is followed closely by one of the guardsman whom seems unnaturally enthralled with the fellow's activities. |
− | One thing that CAN be confirmed, however, is that people heard gunshots and there are signs of a fight there. |
+ | "What if, there were no ley portals," Vomitdreg's hands work nervously together his pitched nasally voice a coarse whisper, "What if, there were no brain slugs. What if, we don't have to wear pink on Wednesdays.." |
− | Kore and Arisha have the full story, but Celeste, Deak, Walery, and Kaelyn have a few recollections of the fight, but not why they were there. |
+ | He stops suddenly and with an unsteady hand he opens his coat. A tiny pair of glowing orange eyes glare upward from their place within the large pocket that has been sewed into his garb, "Did it work, Zeroltheluz?" |
+ | No. |
− | ===Eliday, Pryntar 04, 1020=== |
− | ====The Frigate Revenant==== |
− | A new frigate pulled into port a few days ago along with a brig that was running escort. Both ships looked to have seen some heavy fighting, and the frigate looks to taken the brunt of it. Soon after arrival carpenters were enlisted en masse to fix up both ships and make them seaworthy. |
+ | Vomitdreg's face twists with concern, "So, there are ley portals?!" |
− | While this alone is worthy of a rumor, and the fact that forty some-odd men and women of different race were escorted off the Frigate, it's not just that which has piqued interest. Rumor has started to travel like wildfire that this was a Charnese Naval vessel - the Revenant. |
+ | Maybe. |
− | Did Alexandria just attack a Charnese ship? |
+ | "What if, just this once, /you/ fix things?" |
− | (OOC: This is in relation to the plot: Inmost Sea-capades. See Kore, Amythyst or Kaelyn for more information. Additional legwork can be made, I will respond to any/all as quickly as I can.) |
+ | No. |

− | ====Engagement at the Fernwood==== |
− | Conquerer Ravifan announced his engagement to a young, though well-ranked Shadowveil, Aritha Korivani. "We're quite happy," the Conquerer said as the happy couple made the announcement at the Fernwood. "While we realize it's an unusual step to be open about our marriage, we do so in the hope it will help others understand us." |
+ | The goblin closes his jacket in frustration. Tiny fingers reach into a component pouch hanging from his belt to produce a pinch of salt which he ingests. Knitting his hands back together to resume pacing, "What if, there were no ley portals.." |
− | "Such openness is long overdue," Aritha Korivani added, noting that similar arrangements are happening across Ea. |
+ | ===Ceriday, Bernfleur 14, 1020=== |
− | How...wonderful! |
+ | ====Rumble at the Ox==== |
+ | Tavern brawls are seldom noteworthy in a town like Alexandria, they happen ever night almost. Some taverns might actually have scheduled ones for specific nights. However the rumors coming out of the Ox have to be heard to be believed. |
+ | "There was a giant woman there! She sung dirgies on her drum and was covered from head to toe in /blood/. How do you even wear blood!? She flung a man though a wall with her spite alone!" |
− | ===Kesenday, Vhast 26, 1020=== |
− | ====New Art Installment!==== |
− | The Artificer's Guild is pleased to announce another addition to their Paintings of the Future! collection. The recent installment includes a painting of a future, artifice-enabled prosthetic. |
+ | "Well I heard there was a mighty warrior wizard involved! He tore the chandelier off the ceiling with his bare hands and summoned bolts of lightning!" |
− | Visitors are encouraged and welcomed at any time during business hours to experience these Visions of the Future! |
+ | "Well I heard there was a sinister Mul'niessa there! Must have been an assassin or somethin' cause he was askin' all about that wanted girl! Maybe he's the one that did her in and is lookin' to cover his tracks!" |
− | ===Tariday, Vhast 23, 1020=== |
− | ====Roadside Banditry on Paws!==== |
− | Travelers along Alexandros' northern roads towards Blar will be pleased to experience greater safety in the days ahead. A group of bandits that have been harrying caravans have been dispatched by Alexandrian adventurers. One of the bandits was even brought back for for trial. |
+ | "I heard tell there was a barmaid there was a right valkyrie there! Weildin' her tray like a tower shield to protect the beer!" |
− | The small but growing community of Dragonier refugees and Arvek Nar also received a boon in the way of supplies, as the adventurers were able to both return supplies that had been taken, and also donated some of the surplus that was given to them for their work. What wasn't given to the Adventurers in payment was divvied up between the Community, the temple of Serriel, and a new charity called the Animal Care Kennel (or ACK! for short). |
+ | "Oh that lass is a proper hero she is." |

− | ====A Bitingly Good Time?==== |
− | After a late-night drinking event gone wrong, two druids got into it and ended up summoning a tornado. Alexandria being on a peninsula out to the sea, this quickly picked up sea creatures and debris. |
+ | "Proper hero, aye. She even refused a drink afterwards!" |
− | In other words, a sharknado hit Alexandros' shores late last night. The involved druids are understandably chagrined, and are spending hours in community service cleaning up the mess. |
+ | (All rumors subject to massive exaggeration by many drunken patrons!) |

− | ====Shenanigans Reported!==== |
− | The Watch reported shenanigans yesterday at the great library. Reports suggest a summoning-or-other gone wrong. A multi-headed hydra appeared on the scene, rending precious, precious books and arcanists alike before finally being subdued by daring adventurers! |

+ | ====More?!==== |
+ | '...it was /her/ all along!" declares on reader, her eyes narrowed. |
− | The Ox-Strength is pleased to report the winner of tonight's drinking contest, Captain Delra Coalsbrew! The Ox hosts drinking contests every night, or whenever patrons are desperate enough to--that is, whenever patrons are willing to take part of our damn fine brews! |
+ | |||
+ | Mereth didn't abandon Dandy, or Jyrana it turns out. There's a new, shadowy figure in play...at least according to the latest Crimson Pen fanfic. Yes, fanfic. This one however, proports to be written by an "insider to the tale!" |
+ | |||
+ | It hints at a new villian. A figure in a cottage, her skeletal hands about an apple... a real lich of a woman, as it turns out. |
+ | |||
+ | Mereth, the manly hero of the Crimson Pen's work, suffered a terrible fate--fans thought--at the hands of the trecherous Jyrana, who was jealous of his love for Dandy. Mereth's death caused an uproar in Alexandria amonngst fans of the Pen's work for weeks, over the loss of his beloved, hirsute figure and his flexible pecs. |
+ | |||
+ | ...could it have been this...lich...all along? Could Mereth have sacrificed his heroic manliness in a last-minute defense of Dandy AND Jyrana? Perhaps...as the author suggests...to protect an unknown love child??! |
+ | |||
+ | The author promises more tales to come, of this nefarious wi--lich, this "Granny Mandiel!" |
+ | |||
+ | And who is this strange girl with wings on artwork associated with this story?! Who can say? The answers to these questions, and more, will be resolved soon enough... assuming the completed fictions contents don't continue to leak like this. Either way, anticipation is building!' |
+ | ====Wanted Poster==== |
+ | A conversation overheard from a group ofGossipmongers clustered around a poster recently hung up on one of the bulletin boards of the Hope Theatre, stamped with the official seal of the Metropolitan Theatre Company of Alexandria. Depicted upon the parchment is a portrait of a woman that theatre goers and several denizens of the city would find familiar: Rori Lee, one of the theatre company's understudies. The scroll indicates that the woman is presently missing and a modest reward is being offered for information of her whereabouts. |
+ | |||
+ | Gossipmonger 1: Tends to happen to the pretty ones, doesn't it? The poor lass. |
+ | |||
+ | Gossipmonger 2: Wonder if it's connected to the incident the other day at the Warehouse Ward... |
+ | |||
+ | Gossipmonger 3: Eh? What do you mean? |
+ | |||
+ | Gossipmonger 2: Heard that there was some trouble at one of the guardhouses, something about a fire that wasn't a fire, and someone paid to have a prisoner held so he could murder her, himself! |
+ | |||
+ | Gossipmonger 1: What?! How terrible! |
+ | |||
+ | Gossipmonger 2: It's insidious business alright, and apparently, one of the guardsmen was in on it. Cousin of the Goldstone Brothers, word is they've been blaming hits on their caravans on the Mul lately and turns out they had a Mul in custody. |
+ | |||
+ | Gossipmonger 3: But what's that got to do with the missing understudy? |
+ | |||
+ | Gossipmonger 2: That's the confusing part. Apparently the understudy, or someone who looks like the understudy anyway....Captain Fullbright of the Alexandria Guard credited her for exposing the guardsman's corruption and after that happened, a riot suddenly broke out and the corrupt guardsman escaped! Seems like too much of a coincidence, innit? |
+ | |||
+ | Gossipmonger 1: I heard the Goldstone Brothers are denying any involvement, though. Something about how their cousin had been trading with their name for years but he was never actually part of their operations? |
+ | |||
+ | Gossipmonger 3: Still, can't deny there's something fishy going on with all of that. I mean, now someone responsible for turning the guards' eye towards them is missing? There /is/ such a thing as too much coincidence, you know... |

+ | ====Damn Nusiance==== |
+ | ...damn nusiance," is overheard among merchants traveling from Khazad Duin. Some of them report a greater amount of theft when traveling from under the mountain. Some suggest increased attacks by muls, while others blame different, undermountain groups. The blame of muls is hardly surprising--the mul are well known parasites of khazad goods and merchantry. Either way, there is a minor stepping up of guards in that area. |

+ | ====Mereth Writes?!==== |
+ | Starting with those fanatical fans of the Crimson Pen's legendary tale of betrayal, romance and death, there are rumors of a new tale! One written from the perspective of the famous, and oiled-pec Mereth, Alexandria's own heart throb! When it will be released is anybody's guess but it's causing a certain buzz. Naturally, Alexandria's literary elite is turning up their nose to this, but it hasn't stopped salons from gathering, nor rumors on the street. |
− | ====Forget Yuletide, It's Thultide!==== |
− | Another crypt has been uncovered in Alexandria today that is sure to leave the denizens more than a little worried about what may be near their own homes. Citizens report sounds of cackling noises heard when passing by. Others suggest that behind the Watch's guardrails lie tombs of grotesque horrors! What originally was considered prime real estate and redeveloped by the luckless Kashani family is now sanctioned off by the Verdaman Temple and the Watch as a scene for Thulite worship the likes of which hasn't been seen in Alexandria. |
− | |||
− | Reports trickle in of other worship sites being uncovered, though the Tribune has been unable to verify these sources so far. Reports suggest some sites may be the hosts of ancient Thulian artifacts and arcane rituals. Others suggest that one may contain access to an ancient book of necromantic powers. |
− | |||
− | Several people witnessed adventurers going in and out of at least one site, which fortunately or unfortunately, may add credibility to the above reports. |
+ | Mereth originally featured in the Crimson Pen's Trio of Romances series, involving the demure Dandy, the wicked Jyrana, and the marvelous Mareth! Mareth of course, found himself ultimately betrayed, in the Pen's wickedly written love tragedy...or was he?? Did Jyrana betray him, to gain Dandy's favor? Was it Dandy's plan all along, or did Mareth ever, truly die? Some fans have always denied the latter--that he was too marvelous, too flex-tacious to simply perish! |
− | OOC: This relates to the Crypts plotline. Please RP with Verna, Serraphine, Heinrich, Gregor, Josselyn, or Arisha to get involved! |

+ | ====More Plushies?==== |
+ | The "Blue Bloods" courier service has once again been comissioned to send out another wave of plushies. This one a set of all the greatest heros of Alexandria in heroric stances or forms. The new set includes Kneeling and Praying Svarshan, Rainbow Dragon Sandy, Rightous Fire Kore, Lucky Lucy, Karate Action Aya, and various others, including variations on the others. |
− | In response to the recent raid on their ovens, Stoneworks' Calzone has posted a new sign: |
+ | People have also noticed that each Plushie is unique, slightly different then another. Each one has a tag with a number, and a letter next to it. Excitment has quickly risen as there might be a hidden message being sent with the plushies if one could gather all the letters and numbers. |
− | Calzones so good, even the Hells falls to temptation! |
+ | ===Kesenday, Bernfleur 06, 1020=== |
− | Another sign posted adds: Smiting practice available after hours. |
+ | ====Pumpkin Problems==== |
+ | As heard in the beauty salons of Upper Alexandria's Nobility District, in hushed whispers and nervous giggles: |
+ | Elmyra leans in, whispering conspiratorially to Beatrice, "Is it really as big as they say it is?" |
− | ====Demon Salsa==== |
− | Do you like Spicy? Do you like to breath fire? Do you like to fight evil? |
+ | Beatrice offers a sly grin in return, answering in the same conspiratorial whisper. "I saw it with my very own eyes! It was the biggest I've ever seen! You wouldn't believe it! I didn't even think something that size would fit!" |
− | Well we have the spice of all spices for you! Demon Salsa, the hottest dip around for all of your taste senses! Guarenteed to make your mouth burn and to breath fire! Endorsed by the famous paladin Svarshan! Come on down to the Golden Cookie Bakery to try our great variety of foods. |
+ | Several of the patrons feign looking shocked, averting their eyes -- so that they can hear better* |
− | Disclaimer: Made out of real demons. If you feel the urge to do evil acts such as pillage, plunder, murder, steal candy from babies, lie, cheat, steal, conqure neigboring countries, take hostages, raise dead to fuel your evil empire with undead for their mindless obedience, or take change out of change jars at a service counter you may be being corrupted. Please consult your cleric. |
+ | Elmyra pretends not to notice the eavesdroppers. "Do you think it was magic? It has to be magic. That can't be natural." |

− | ====Rainbow Dragon Illustrations Wanted==== |
− | The Tribune seeks illustrations and accounts of the rumored Rainbow Dragon of Alexandria! We are partnered with the local Temple of Navos, who is offering a small reward for verified illustrations regarding this matter. |
+ | Beatrice just shrugs. "I have no idea. Maybe it's just a blessing from the gods?All I know is that everyone in town is supposed to be getting a piece of it." |
− | OOC: Sketch an image of the Rainbow Dragon for publication (stick figures count!) and send it in. Receive double GM Noms! Please email to: <login to game to see email address>. :D |
+ | One of the patrons starts fanning herself, color rushing to her cheeks. It's probably a good thing she's already sitting down. |
+ | Elmyra's eyes widen. "Oh myyyy. How do you think it tastes?" |
+ | Candice, the beautician, whispers harshly, "Elmyra! That's not a question that you ask in polite company!" |
− | ====Update: What a Response!==== |
− | The following illustrations are being added to the Navosian Archives. Thank you! |
+ | Elmyra looks confused, turning to look at Beatrice. "Since when are giant pumpkins inappropriate subjects of conversation?" |
− | |
+ | "Pumpkins?" The other women lean back in their seats, looking a little disappointed. "What are you talking about?" |
+ | Beatrice rolls her eyes at the other women, sighing deeply. "This morning! They rolled in a giant pumpkin the size of a house! I thought the wagon was going to snap in half right there, the way the wood was squeaking. And those poor animals. Not to mention those -- 'adventurers' that came back with it. The whole mess of them looked like a sorry lot, like they just got back from a war. What could have been so hard about loading a giant pumpkin into a cart?" |
− | |
+ | Elmyra shakes her head. "You just can't find good help these days," she drones, flipping through the latest edition of Prestigious Moon's catalog. "Didn't you ask them where it came from?" |
+ | "Well, I -tried-," Beatrice answers in kind. "One of them was kind of bringing up the rear. A tsuran, I think. He had the bluest eyes. Anyway, I walked up to him, and he pointed a -stick- at me! Said --" Her voice gets a few tones lower, and gruffer, "Lady, I swear by all the gods of the Holy Order I am -not- in the mood today." |
− | |
+ | "Did you report him to the guards!?!" asks Candice. |
+ | "Did you file a complaint with the Guild?" asks Elmyra. |
− | |
+ | "Do you think he's single?" asks one of the women in the back. All eyes turn to her, disapprovingly. "What?!" |
+ | After a moment of uncomfortable quiet, Beatrice continues. "Anyway. Apparently, one of them's trying to make a giant pie out of it, from what I hear. Supposedly, the whole town is getting some, though I doubt even a pumpkin that size could feed the whole town. You'd think it would have been easier to just buy small ones. I hear the fields are coming up in record time lately!" |

+ | "Didjas see that Sunblade at the temple thie mornin' Urg?" |
+ | "Sunblade? Dook, you know I ain't got time fer no hoity-toity priest o' no dragon! Why am I gunna be lookin' at a Sunblade?" |
− | |
+ | "No you Lulgijak! I mean da one what's been goin round with Mayhem's sister. Whassername?" |
+ | "Oh yeah, Murda. Yeah, I seen him a'fore, why?" |
− | |
+ | The orc lowers his voice a bit and says, "They 'us bringin in a wagonload o' stuff last night. Glick tole me about it. Said he seen him and three others unloadin a wagon with tools an' equipment. Look like they 'us cuttin up some boards fer somethin." |
+ | "What was they cuttin 'em for?" this one leans in and lowers his voice conspiriatorily, "Was they makin furniture or somethin? They already got all them gold lookin lights and stuff in there and Orl tole me tha other day that someone seen Murda in there lickin 'em a while back. I tole Orl he's fulla -" |
+ | "NO you nummy! They was cuttin boards up fer signs! Now shuddup an listen!" Dook glowers and snorts, "Look like they 'us postin up a bounty or summat. Then this after lunch, Kazid came in from out on a hunt, said he seen vellums board-posted ever mile on the tree lines near the Fel, warnin about Demons." |
+ | Urg's eyes are as big as saucers, "I doan truck wit no demons Dook. Not no more. Ever since great uncle Trang got caught by one what turned him into a dead thing still servin the demon. Thas bad juju Dook, you go pixie snatchin on yer own until them demons're dealt with." |
− | ====Slaves and Bombs==== |
− | Just a heads-up. Atleti is looking into how to reverse the Charneth's latest trick, of turning living creatures into scarred bombs. He'll be at the celebration tonight if anyone would like to RP about it, or arrange to RP after. |
+ | "But...how'm I gonna make pixie paste if'n ya doan come wi..." |
+ | The conversation trails off as the two orcs move on down the street. A few other similar conversations can be heard around other parts of the city. The Sunblade in question has been known to frequent the Fernwood. |

+ | ====Chief Engineer's Report: Airship R==== |
+ | Orally delivered to the Skyguild and recorded by the scribes: |
− | Evidently the food at Stoneworks is quite amaising! Amaising enough that midget fire imps or something like it raided the oven there and stole a large number of cooking Calzone! Is this restaraunt so popular that other planar beings are starting to frequent the place? Rumor also has it that a few intreped adventuerers were able to drive these little creatures off, though many calzone were stolen in the process! |
+ | Chief Engineer: "...yes, sir, that's correct. The ship was safely recovered, though not quite as intact as we'd hoped. It'd seen a bit more action than we thought, but we got the thing to fly alright. That wasn't the hard part. The weather was against us from the start. Wagons got stuck a few times, but we made it there. But that's when the monster showed itself." |

− | ====Stormgardian Disease Sprouts in Al==== |
− | Readers of the 'Alexandrian Rummagepost' will be no doubt familiar with its recent spate of rumors, about a Miniature Yeti. |
+ | Guildmaster: "So the damage was caused by a monster attack?" |
− | <What follows is a copy of the Rummagepost's image, which appears to be a well-done illustration of Kisaiya in a large fur coat.> |
+ | Chief Engineer: "Eh... not exactly. The ones we hired on to help guard our workers... well... they tried, sir, but I think they were a little green. The one on the horse took awhile to get his bearings, but he stuck the thing pretty good. The ones with the bows put more holes in the ship than the monster. One of the ones with the sword, well, she spent most of her time trying to get her sword back out of the thing. And the goblins -- well -- we're not really sure what they were doing, but at least they didn't set the thing on fire again." |
− | The 'Rummagepost' reports: Some people are trying to figure out exactly what it is this strange being might be. While some think it's just local Alexandrian, Kisaiya, having sprouted a bunch of extra hair for the winter through some arcane manipulations and esoteric hair spells, others say it's probably not a hair spell at all and indicitive of something much more sinister. |
+ | Guildmaster: "...so the hirelings caused the additional damage? And we -- paid these people?" |
− | What the image represents not clear. The Rummagepost went on to report other possibilities, including the possibility of miniature yetidom. |
+ | Chief Engineer: "Well, sir, we didn't lose any of the mechanics, so there's no death benefits to pay, no retraining time. All in all, I think we came out ahead." |
− | While normally it is not the practice of the Tribune to report on other papers' work, this report potentially concerns Alexandrian public health, and we thought it prudent to weigh into the discussion. We presented the reports and illustration to two separate experts within Alexandria. |
+ | Guildmaster: "I think I've heard enough. I'll sign off on the recovery bonuses. And let's keep this quiet for as long as we can. We have a reputation of competence, after all, even when hiring outside help..." |
− | Dr. Pherbius Sand writes to us that this case is a warning sign. |

− | "Yeterius Spontaneous is a disease that originates in the Stormgarde region," he writes us. "It comes on in the winter, and is usually associated with the lucht race. However, it has been known to strike other species." |
+ | ===Tariday, Eatonis 27, 1020=== |
− | When asked what Yeterius S. is, exactly, the reports we were given indicate that it appears to be the sudden and usually irreversible growth of hair all over one's body. In addition, the individual may develop a sudden, stooped-over position and be prone to grunts. |
+ | ====Plushies for all the Children!==== |
+ | Courier have been busy all over town, delivering to all the children of the city cute little plushies. The plushies are of a Mul'niessa noble woman wearing bright pink dress and mini umbrella, one of Sandy, one of Svarshan, and various other well known figures around town. The courier service is not fully aware of the client, but the money is good and the plushies appear harmless. |
+ | (This is relation to the Chaos Lich plot, feel free to bug Sandy or Svarshan ic about this! As most of the dolls are about them, or me Astaren) |
− | However, Alexandria has reported only one case of this disease so far, and we encourage citizens not to worry. However, if you do spot an individual with this condition, please report them immediately to the Soldier's Defense. |

+ | ====Strange occurances==== |
+ | For the past few days, there have been strange gargoyle-like statues all over the city of Alexandria, mostly upon higher up structures such as the various temples, the castle and even the Adventurer's guildhouse. |
− | A Chaneth Noble mounted an assault on Mictlan in clear violation of Alexandrian territorial rights. Charn officials quickly denounced their activities, although only after word of the noble's failure had reached them. According to the few Charneth survivors that were captured, the entire incident was started because of the Alexandrian adventurers destroying the Merchant ship Aloft Seaker. Though a number of people have stepped forward to point out that the Aloft Seaker could very well be the Oft Sea, a notorious pirate ship and known slave runner of sith-makar. |
+ | The past night, however, a group of adventurers walked back into the city with a moss-like gargoyle bound up in a wagon. The statues of gargoyles disappeared while the moss-like gargoyle had been turned over to the Yggdrasil Union for study. |
− | The attack on Mictlan was repelled by a number of adventurers and local tribesfolk. Elisabeth, the unshakable. Raethon, the quick of wit. Nadara, the wise and sure. Bors, the destroyer. Ilmig, the brave. And a newcomer, Atleti, the Avenger. These six are the heroes of the hour in Mictlan, saving the town and serving as the backbone to the repelling force. A banquet is to be thrown in their honor, and the Speaker Caste is reported to be honoring them specifically at it. According to sources, the Speaker Caste are something of diplomats, and only appear at special occasions. |
+ | For more details on what happened, speak to Leisel, Hun'rar, Garak, Magnus, Kisaiya, Kira or Raethon. |
− | Amongst those at Mictlan prior to the attack were Durrankar and Un'eth, two druids of well reknown who safely aided a number of wounded of Mictlan out of the area prior to the Assault. Without their influence the civilian casualties at Mictlan would've been far more substantial. |
+ | ===Kirday, Eatonis 22, 1020=== |
− | Tensions between Charn and Alexandria have risen again, though neither side is willing to take blame for any of the events leading up to this. Charn officials were unwilling to offer opinion on the creation of the Sith-makar suicide bombers seen being sent into Mictlan prior to the attack. The Sith were said to have scars that slowly etched onto their skin like a curse that diminished their health, and upon death exploded. If you see any Sith-makar with scar-like markings who look unwell, inform the Watch immediately. |
+ | ====Continuing Buildup==== |
+ | The Alexandrian Airstation sure seems busy these days! |
+ | ...and a whole lot of those ships seem to be military grade... MErcenaries, privateers and Alexandrian naval forces seem to be building up for *something*. |
− | OOC: This is part of the Silver and Sith arc! |

+ | ====So Called Training==== |
+ | That so called training mission? I heard it was a full fledged military operation. Someone is trying ta stir something up. Something about lost spies or some-such trying to map the north or steal something important to the fiends. Bad mojo all around you know. I tell you one thing, the people that came off some of those ships weren't injured in any training exercises thats for sure! |
− | Late at night on Gilday, Khael 20th, talk was overheard in a few local taverns of a botched robbery attempt. Some say that the target was a larger-than-life statue of Lady Sandiel wrought in brightly polished silver wearing a rainbow-patterned miniskirt destined for display in the City's new museum. Others say the silver statue was a nude of the famous Professor Hieronymous Fizzlefuse destined for a special place in the boudoir of a lady in Alexandria's Nobility Districe who shall remain nameless--unless the Crimson Pen sheds further light. Anyway, rumors tell that a band of Alexandria's famous adventurers scared a troll with a politician's talent for stirring speechs into jumping off the northern highbridge in defense of the peculiar cargo. |
− | === |
+ | ====ALEXANDROS TAKES TO THE SKIES!==== |
+ | Once again the brave sons and daughters of Alexandros take to the skies to train for the protection of their families and loved ones. Brave soldiers today successfully completed Operation Eastern Reach, meant to familiarize soldiers with the operation of our proud and effective airship fleet. One of the sharpest swords in our arsenal of defense the powerful Virtuous-class ships were a sight to be seen as they moved near the border of Skald. As much to train the crews as to remind the demonic forces to the east: that we are always watching and always ready. |
− | ====Storms Storm in Off the Coast==== |
− | Ships report odd weather this time of year in the Inmost Sea, with a storm that raged far stronger than normal. In fact, it was almost akin to a summer storm it was so strong and violent. Trade was upset for several days until finally the weather cleared up. |
+ | So look to the skies citizens! Enlist today! |
− | Rumor has it, the storm was supernatural in nature and caused by agents of Charn to disrupt trade. Alexandrian merchants, as well as its adventuring community, are up in arms about the underhanded nature of such an act. Charn denies the allegations, or cites that if they can't hold Alexandria responsible for sinking of the merchant ship--Alexandria can't hold them responsible for this. |
+ | ===Kirday, Eatonis 15, 1020=== |
− | One thing is for sure, tensions are running high between the two nations. |
+ | ====Missing Children?==== |
+ | "Did you hear about those missing children?" The voice whispered, not wanting it to travel too far - fear running around the edges of the words. |
+ | "Who hasn't? It's nearly an epidemic. Thank goodness they're not disappearing within Alexandria." A sigh of relief to punctuate this, and then a lean in, "But did you hear that they were all seen with a 'white puppy' before going missing?" |
− | OOC: This ties into the Silver and Sith arc. |
+ | "No, I didn't hear that. Oh that's creepy." |
− | ====Small But Growing==== |
− | A small community on the outskirts of Alexandria has started to erect longhouses, stables, even a small market. They're a mix of Arvek and refugees from Dragonier. The refugees used to be staying near the Museum until they were brought into the community of displaced Arvek from Blar. Since that time, the new community has grown and the spirits are high. A common chorus of uplifting one another is heard and--in some cases--said as a near mantra. |
+ | (OOC: This is a rumor to go along with the plot: The Missing Kids. See Talia, Morgan, Taleth, Kore, Monahi, Deak, or Sorscha for more information.) |
− | Several adventurers have also helped settle them into a new place of living. By assisting with paperwork, feeding those in need, teaching them how to care for their horses, among many other avenues of assistance. The people seem to be making something of themselves out there, and their community is slowly growing because of it. |
+ | ===Tariday, Eatonis 13, 1020=== |
− | OOC: This ties into the Oasis plotline. |
+ | ====A Subtle Tension==== |
+ | "...you're certain of it?" The two priests sat in a darkened room, papers laid in front of them. |
+ | "Yes. That business with the shrines is just another nail in the coffin. The alliances are shifting. I have my money on that business with Heth as the cause of it." A sigh, "I just thought we'd have more time." |
+ | "Are the marriages still going on?" |
− | ===Variday, Kael 18, 1019=== |
− | ====Ship Attacked in Hextus!==== |
− | A ship recently was attacked in the Charn city of origin and port of harbour, Hextus, by so-called vigilantes out of Alexandria. The attack was carried out in broad daylight with no attempt to try and conceal identities. |
+ | "Three, in the last month, and more before that." |
− | Bounties have been placed on the heads of these four individuals (sketches of Orenthal, Ilmig, Amythyst, and a black-robed robed priest) for the destruction of a merchant vessel within the harbour. The vessel in question, Aloft Seaker, was a known ship for carrying goods through out the Inmost Sea, including to Alexandria. |
+ | Silence fills the time, a look exchanged between them. |
− | It is unknown why they decided to destroy the ship. However, the vigilantes managed to avoid authorities in their escape. |
+ | "...great," the first one says, at length. He drops into a nearby chair, and rubs at his forehead. "We're hearing the usual propaganda from that corner, I take it?" |
− | Statements from Charneth authorities say that this premeditated crime is just yet another obvious attack on the Charneth way of life by the city across the sea. Alexandria has disavowed all knowledge of such events, claiming such acts are the responsibility of individuals, or perhaps the ship captain was just drunk. |
+ | "Aye, about being misunderstood, Taara being the faith of personal empowerment and choice, freedom to choose. Maugrim being... Unfairly stereotyped and about self-esteem, honor, and respect. All of that. It isn't anything you don't hear out of Charn, normally. It's just effective--" |
− | The Watch is currently seeking statements on the location, or any information relating to the above individuals or the act. |
+ | "--because on our side we have people who want things better. I get it," the priest says, closing his eyes. "I'll start talking with my own, help them identify that sort of doublespeak. Fighting for what's right, just, and good, doesn't mean we're stupid or ignorant of their rhetoric." |
− | OOC: This relates to Kisaiya's PrP, Silver and Sith! |
+ | "If alliances are firming up again with the old guard, there'll be stronger grabs for power. More effective slave routes, more experiments. More pressure on our allies, maybe on Myrddion to get their sh--to get themselves together. It's too soon to tell the extent of what this means. But, we may see a stronger Charn before this is done." |
− | ===Variday, Kael 18, 1019=== |
− | ====Letter to the Editor==== |
− | From one Alexandrian to his brothers: |
+ | "How many marriages have there been?" |
− | This infringement on the Charneth way of life is just one in a line of such events. It is my belief that the servants of Maugrim and Taara are misrepresented within this city. His discipline, which would have prevented such lawlessness, is sorely needed! |
+ | The one priest looks to the other. |
− | Rumors that this reckless event was tied to slavery and predation is surely unfounded, and a product of years of bias. Taara, who is the right hand of Maugrim, espouses personal freedom and individuality. Would one hand cut off the other? No, I say. They are two parts of a whole, a whole who denounces this act of lawlessness, and an act that cost an honest captain his livelihood at the hands of vigilantes! |
+ | "I hoped that I was wrong. Yeah." |
− | It's for the good of all, crimes like this should never go unpunished, and this bias against our faith and culture--a culture dating back the same founding years as Myrddion--be addressed. |
+ | "Maybe we let them think good is stupid," the first muses. "Let their egos fill in the rest. ...let's keep this quiet, for a little while. Get the word out." |
− | :- A Maugrimite in Alexandria |
+ | "Mm, the quiet approach. I get it." |
− | OOC: This relates to Kisaiya's PrP, Silver and Sith! Also, have an opinion on the above? We'd love for you to send in articles and letters to the editor! |
+ | The acolyte, overhearing, hurries away. |
− | ===Variday, Kael 18, 1019=== |
− | ====Re: Letter to the Editor==== |
− | Dear Maugrimite in Alexandria, |
+ | OOC: Rumors like these are growing among the faithful. Quietly, but there's a growing sense of wariness. The marriages referred to are between members of the Maugrimite and Taaran temples and faithful. |
− | It is regretful that such an event happened at an otherwise safe and lawful area. Hextus is known for its safety and the security of visiting merchants. I am sure like you, that it has never housed a pirate in its existence, and nor is it a haven for them. |
+ | ===Ceriday, Eatonis 10, 1020=== |
− | Likewise, it is doubtful that the event was tied to slavery, or stolen goods. Charn has never had a history of such matters. |
+ | ====I Just Needed Tha Money...==== |
+ | The Watch has accosted several bandits who were in it they say, because they "Just needed tha money." A post some weeks ago advertising gold paid for corpses, and two for a child's, wasn't taken seriously. |
+ | ...by most locals. However, it's inspired some hopefuls. Enough, the Watch says, that they'll be seeking help with the matter. We'll publish more as this develops. |
− | Signed, |
+ | OOC: This ties into the Chaos Lich arc! |

− | Note: This letter was slightly edited by Tribune staff. We replaced the final word in the signature with the more appropriate 'it.' |
+ | ====Arwenieniallwehns Adopt!==== |
+ | The Tribune is pleased to announce the adoption of the young Avelia by Lady Sandiel and Lady Myrana Arwenieniallwehn. The adoption was observed by two practitioners of faith, both of Daeus and Eluna, and subsequently blessed. The legal paperwork was signed and filed by a mage of the Progressive Arcanists. |
+ | Welcome to the world, young Avelia! |

− | ====Bugfestation!==== |
− | Someone, apparently, tried to smuggle Am'sheri bugs into Alexandria. |
+ | ===Eliday, Pryntar 11, 1020=== |
− | The guards had been tipped off, it seems, accounting for very, very long lines at the gate as they attempted to find the supposed smugglers. Eeven more strangely, the bugs had been smuggled into several wagons unbeknowns to their drivers and they were let loose near the gates, resulting in numerous swarms of beetles, dragonflies, bitey bugs, and, of course, spiders. Always with the spiders. |
+ | ====Daughter of Dragons==== |
+ | A particular avid reader of the Crimson Pen with great hair has recent been able to put together clues from the writing that Lady Sandiel (a woman who used to go by the name Sandrake'ial'unatha before coming to Alexandria) used to be engaged to a dragon! |
+ | ====Alley Makeover==== |
− | While many were destroeyed, there is concern that quarantine efforts have failed to keep Am'sheri wildlife from getting to this side of the portal and renewed calls to either find better security or finally close it. |
+ | Last night there was a strange commotion in the Lower Market, starting with a number of refugees and homeless being forceably evicted from the alley where they had taken shelter for the night. Under implied threat of violence, the unfortunate victims were escorted to a nearby inn, were they were provided with warm rooms and hot stew. |
+ | Shortly thereafter a large gang of ruffians and ner-do-wells descended upon the alleyway, with carts of likely stolen and illicit goods. |
− | ===Kesenday, Kael 08, 1019=== |
− | ====Treasures Recovered!==== |
− | Adventurers emerged from the Museum this evening, having rescued two of the treasures inside. Others remain, though the Vardamen Temple emphasizes that further recovery will be done with even greater caution. "It was worse than we thought," reported Mourner Bacia, as she was supported by an oruch nearby. |
+ | Morning light has seen the crime scene scrubbed clean of evidence of what exactly transpired. |
− | One of the returned pieces is rumored to be part of a mirror. Another, has vanished into the depths of a dragon's claws. |
− | In the meantime, Lady Kashani appears to have vanished into seclusion, and has nothing to add to the report at this time. |

+ | ====Huh What?==== |
+ | There are a few whispers that there was things were happening at the Lower Trades Market. The problem is, the closer people get to the market district, the less people remember what happened. |
+ | One thing that CAN be confirmed, however, is that people heard gunshots and there are signs of a fight there. |

− | ====A Bakery Vaults Forth!==== |
− | Eskareen, retired adventuer of Alexandria's very own Guild, recently opened a bakery in the Upper Markets after coming into a recent fortune. Details of the fortune remain obscured, though the respected adventurer was seen recently dashing through the streets and clicking her heels together. |
+ | Kore and Arisha have the full story, but Celeste, Deak, Walery, and Kaelyn have a few recollections of the fight, but not why they were there. |
− | Rumors suggest she'd recently come into a number of treasures. One of note: A tapestry of the Desolation, without the Rift, practically ancient love letters, a delicate locket, and an unnamed piece of art from Rune. |
− | OOC: For salacious details, contact: Krom, Grush, and Melora! This ties to Kisaiya's PrP, The Vault near Vandalheim. Logs available under Recent Arcs. |

+ | ====The Frigate Revenant==== |
+ | A new frigate pulled into port a few days ago along with a brig that was running escort. Both ships looked to have seen some heavy fighting, and the frigate looks to taken the brunt of it. Soon after arrival carpenters were enlisted en masse to fix up both ships and make them seaworthy. |
+ | While this alone is worthy of a rumor, and the fact that forty some-odd men and women of different race were escorted off the Frigate, it's not just that which has piqued interest. Rumor has started to travel like wildfire that this was a Charnese Naval vessel - the Revenant. |
+ | Did Alexandria just attack a Charnese ship? |
− | ===Variday, Kael 04, 1019=== |
− | ====It Takes a Village==== |
− | "Yeah, they've been a big help." That conversation may be a turning point in local race relations. The man, Elias, was talking about the arvek. When the nation of Dragonier collapsed, Alexandria took in many of its refugees. While it's been a source of growth for the city, it's also been a source of tension since the city had received refugees from Blar just before. Refugees, and Alexandrian poor, often find themselves competing against one another. |
+ | (OOC: This is in relation to the plot: Inmost Sea-capades. See Kore, Amythyst or Kaelyn for more information. Additional legwork can be made, I will respond to any/all as quickly as I can.) |
− | "I mean, I suppose we've uh, not gotten to know eachother before," Elias told me as he continued his story. "I mean, a lot of times we were going for the same jobs, but ..." here, the man shrugged. "They're alright? Some of us've been in a bad place with the Museum and all. I mean, we were using it as uh, I mean. Well, yeah, the arvek have been a help, especially Serraphine and Felicia. They're Serrielites? Anyway, they and their people, they're helping some of us make a few homes outside the city. Learn farming. Alongside their people, no less." |
+ | ===Ceriday, Vhast 27, 1020=== |
− | "They've been a *lot* of help. We wouldn't be able to eat if it wasn't for them," Nethia responded. She's Elias' wife. Both of them are from Dragonieer. |
+ | ====Engagement at the Fernwood==== |
+ | Conquerer Ravifan announced his engagement to a young, though well-ranked Shadowveil, Aritha Korivani. "We're quite happy," the Conquerer said as the happy couple made the announcement at the Fernwood. "While we realize it's an unusual step to be open about our marriage, we do so in the hope it will help others understand us." |
+ | "Such openness is long overdue," Aritha Korivani added, noting that similar arrangements are happening across Ea. |
− | Were you approached by anyone else? I asked them. |
+ | How...wonderful! |
− | "Not many, but sometimes I'd say it's that are resources are stretched thin. There's been the Altheans, and they're the reason some of us've had enough to eat. There's just a lot of us," Nethia told me. "It doesn't stop folks from being angry, though. It's hard, when you're just trying to find a job." |
+ | ===Kesenday, Vhast 26, 1020=== |
− | Then, she added: "The other day though, that Conquerer came by. ...he started preaching about standing on your own two feet, and how no one would listen because of racism or somethin. There was a mul woman with him, but...aside from words, they didn't offer much. Seemed kind of angry we were getting help. I mean, they looked pretty well off, so I don't know..." |
+ | ====New Art Installment!==== |
+ | The Artificer's Guild is pleased to announce another addition to their Paintings of the Future! collection. The recent installment includes a painting of a future, artifice-enabled prosthetic. |
+ | Visitors are encouraged and welcomed at any time during business hours to experience these Visions of the Future! |
− | "...I guess he felt a helping hand made us weaker or something," Elias says. He looks uncomfortable. "But we've tried. There ain't a lot you can do with nothin. And...we're going to be part of a community after this. They help us, we'll help them, you know?" Here, he and Nethia nodded. |
+ | ===Tariday, Vhast 23, 1020=== |
− | The couple has invited the Tribune to report on the village addition, and we hope to follow up with a report later this week. If it succeeds, it might be a step forward for the two groups and hopefully, a step forward for Alexandria as well. |
+ | ====Roadside Banditry on Paws!==== |
+ | Travelers along Alexandros' northern roads towards Blar will be pleased to experience greater safety in the days ahead. A group of bandits that have been harrying caravans have been dispatched by Alexandrian adventurers. One of the bandits was even brought back for for trial. |
+ | The small but growing community of Dragonier refugees and Arvek Nar also received a boon in the way of supplies, as the adventurers were able to both return supplies that had been taken, and also donated some of the surplus that was given to them for their work. What wasn't given to the Adventurers in payment was divvied up between the Community, the temple of Serriel, and a new charity called the Animal Care Kennel (or ACK! for short). |

+ | ====A Bitingly Good Time?==== |
+ | After a late-night drinking event gone wrong, two druids got into it and ended up summoning a tornado. Alexandria being on a peninsula out to the sea, this quickly picked up sea creatures and debris. |
+ | In other words, a sharknado hit Alexandros' shores late last night. The involved druids are understandably chagrined, and are spending hours in community service cleaning up the mess. |

− | "No, you must be kidding!" |
+ | ====Shenanigans Reported!==== |
+ | The Watch reported shenanigans yesterday at the great library. Reports suggest a summoning-or-other gone wrong. A multi-headed hydra appeared on the scene, rending precious, precious books and arcanists alike before finally being subdued by daring adventurers! |
+ | ===Tariday, Vhast 16, 1020=== |
− | "Not at all, and on top of that? Well, I heard that Sandy even called the small child a little Huntress no less!" |
+ | ====Drinking Contest Winner!==== |
+ | The Ox-Strength is pleased to report the winner of tonight's drinking contest, Captain Delra Coalsbrew! The Ox hosts drinking contests every night, or whenever patrons are desperate enough to--that is, whenever patrons are willing to take part of our damn fine brews! |
− | "Well, surely this all must have been some sort of ploy for the child." |
− | "I don't know, word has it that she's made more than a few people petrified with fear before. Maybe that's how gorgon's start? They just terrify people until the snakes grow in." |
− | "Well, that's an interesting idea." |
+ | ===Tariday, Vhast 16, 1020=== |
− | At least one person, one of them may have been a child though it's unclear, called Sandy a gorgon and she did nothing to dissuade the notion! Rumors about as far as what this could mean. |
+ | ====Forget Yuletide, It's Thultide!==== |
+ | Another crypt has been uncovered in Alexandria today that is sure to leave the denizens more than a little worried about what may be near their own homes. |
+ | Reports trickle in of other worship sites being uncovered, though the Tribune has been unable to verify these sources so far. Reports suggest some sites may be the hosts of ancient Thulian artifacts and arcane rituals. Others suggest that one may contain access to an ancient book of necromantic powers. |

− | ====Bring Out Your Dead!==== |
− | If rumors from the Guild are true, a band of adventurers were called in to address yet another deathly problem! The adventurers brought back large, rolled parchments that appeared to show the rituals for raising the dead. |
+ | Several people witnessed adventurers going in and out of at least one site, which fortunately or unfortunately, may add credibility to the above reports. |
− | Creatures raised in this manner appeared to be quite happy. One could say almost grateful, to have their life returned to them. So happy, that the final illumination on this parchment shows them playing music and dancing. |
− | |||
− | They're very grateful raised dead. |

− | ====The Romance of Yaritan!==== |
− | Sales of the CRIMSON PEN's latest hit the shelves late this evening! Within hours, copies were sold out. This has printers in a flurry of panic! We've provided an excerpt, below: |
− | |||
− | ------ |
− | |||
− | Yaritan, handsome devil that he was, stood manfully in the doorway! His chest was broad enough to burst stone! "Hull has betrayed you, my love," he said severely, and strode towards her. His features were etched with concern. |

− | The mul, Hyria, lowered her eyelashes. Hull's unmanly, betraying weakness burned like a fire in her heart. She felt herself swoon in anger! |
− | |||
− | Yaritan reached out a hand to steady her. Her fingers, trembling, cupped his chin. Then, she sighed as she gazed deeply into his eyes. "Whatever shall I do?" she whispered. A furious tear made its way down her heartshaped face. |
− | |||
− | ----- |
− | |||
− | The Seers too, seem caught in the craze. The Temple of Eluna, in a surprise move, bought at least thirty copies, which just speaks to the Crimson's universal appeal! |

− | ====Interview with the CRIMSON PEN!==== |
− | "We're aware of it, of course. Such a shame, really. ...oh! He's a devilishly handsome man, but he's gone a courting, you know." The words belong to one of the three sisters, an alliance who form the Crimson Pen here in Alexandria! I'd come to them that morning to ask about their newest novel. |
− | |||
− | "Well, we'd wanted to do it about a wizard, you see. A man who struggles with his ability to see beyond his eg--I mean, magic," one sister added. |
− | |||
− | "Classic tale, really. But with a romantic twist!" went a third. |
− | |||
− | "Yes. And then we'd heard about the Conquerer. But..." here, the other, other sister wrinkled her nose. "...he says he's here to court. He says." |
− | |||
− | What? I'd asked. I'd thought he was here to make Alexandria better again? |
− | |||
− | "...well, he says that. To give him credit, he has preaching about improvement and self-betterment when we'd talked with him. But, rumors on the street, you know. They say things. And who knows if they're true?" |
− | |||
− | There are nods all around. |
− | |||
− | "Ooooh! What if the Conquerer were the wizard!" chimed in her other, other sister. "Well, just INSPIRATION, of course. You have to take it where you find it, and a tale of tragic, love-lorn reform is always popular..." |
− | |||
− | I allowed that inspiration certainly does, though personally, I have doubts about this particular source of inspiration. I tried to prod them to get back to the earlier idea, or anything about a release date--but they were already deep in discussion! So, readers, we are in the same boat! We'll find out what happens once it hits the shelves! |

− | ====Small and Missing==== |
− | "...I don't know what we're going to do." The hushed words may be heard among the Vardamen. Since Heth's disciple ripped open their crypts two weeks ago, few if any of them have gotten any sleep. |
− | |||
− | "Children are still going missing." |
− | |||
− | "What, out near the Museum?" |
− | |||
− | "...I'm afraid so. It's probably just--" |
− | |||
− | "Do we sound the alarm, then?" |
− | |||
− | "We have to, but. ...quietly. I don't think the city can take a second panic. Third, with the demons loose." |
− | |||
− | They pause. Stop. Then, roll up their sleeves because there's no rest for anyone, nor will there be for some time. |
− | |||
− | OOC: This ties to the Oasis plotline. This specific rumor is intended for Vardamen, Serrielian, and Daeusite PCs, primarily! |
− | |||

− | ===Variday, Quintoos 27, 1019=== |
− | ====Delighted to be Here!==== |
− | "I'm delighted to be here," reported the Conquerer Ravifan. The emissary from Charn made his way into the city three weeks ago. He says he'd been quiet about his presence, given, "undue prejudice of course. Those who do not respect free will, or a man's right to choose his own destiny." He hopes, he says, to offer benefit to Alexandria's community. |
− | |||
− | Whatever that means. |

− | Some Sisters of the Hands of Ithildin are preparing to hold a small Fair for the Orphans of the city and Grush has been posting flyers around the Adventurers Guild asking for the loan of Horses or Ponys for an event. More Volunteers are also welcome, especially any Bards or anyone good with children. Anyone interested in helping out can find Grush staying at the Fernwood Pub! |

− | ====Devilish Returns!==== |
− | Supplicants near Temple Square reported panic this last week when a pit fiend thrust his way onto the square, alongside several dark angels. They reported his horrific and pleasure-filled laughter as he described the destruction he would bring. |
− | |||
− | Local adventurers and faithful quickly engaged the creature. Reportedly, local hero Lady Sandiel was among responders, and turned into a great, silver dragon and shot him with rainbows. \(See illustration to the left\; pull tabs to animate the rainbow breath!\) |
− | |||
− | During the event, a strange green mist filled the courtyard. Mar'Tek dissolved into a tear-shaped stone that according to local Seers, radiated mana. A local Sunguard also clarified that the devil, Mar'Tek had been under surveilence for some time. However, he recently eluded his captors, a situation that is still being investigated. They suspect collusion with Asumit, and hope that his death will put a stop to those plans for some time. |
− | |||
− | Post battle, warriors of light arrived from the Heavens. Apparently Mar'Tek was well-known among them. |
− | |||
− | The Temples are currently working to cleanse the area. In this, they're assisted by local adventurers and faithful. |
− | |||
− | ====Farmer's Market Opens!==== |
− | Often considered an 'afterthought' to the larger city, the Pointe is beginning to show its own. A month ago, the Point began hosting its own Farmer's Market. Spearheaded by followers of the Green in combination with local villagers, the market features fresh fruits, vegetables, and meats. Seafood is popular, given the Alexandros' peninsula's position in the midst of the sea, though other varieties are found as well. |
− | |||
− | The Market is held every weekend during the harvest and trapping seasons. |
− | |||
− | OOC: You're invited to RP! Contact Durrankar and other followers of the Green for details, and bring your appetite! |

− | ====A rainbow dragon?==== |
− | The word has spread the city was attacked by demons. Temple square is a wreck, but what people are most insterested about is that there was a rainbow dragon! Some onlookers dared to edge closer and saw lady Sandiel not only turn into a dragon, but can now breath out rainbows! Whispers and word quickly spread, that Sandy is the Lady Rainbow Dragon! |
− | |||
− | ====Art Museum Now History?==== |
− | "It's contained," are the first words the white-faced Mourner said during the interview. With rumors rampant over the events of last night, temples are understandably on edge. The faithful are working hard and appear to have things contained for now. Yet, officials still struggle to uncover what happened. |
− | |||
− | According to eyewitness reports, an unknown force breached the museum's mountainside wall. Hundreds of lovingly made pieces by Alexandria's own are now held captive in the museum by wights, undead, and other creatures that escaped from Alexandria's undermountain crypts. |
− | |||
− | In the meantime, an enraged Merchant Tangisir has declared an intent to "organize recoveries." The statement was issued through intermediaries as the usually conversational dragon was not available for an interview. The Kashanis, the family behind the museum project have also issued a statement of condemnation against "Thul and His disgusting servants." |
− | |||
− | Other rumors persist, suggesting involving of a Heth cultist, a shining, rainbow blade welded by an oruch, and other elements too otherworldly to possibly be true. |
− | |||
− | OOC: This ties into the Oasis plotline! I'll be updating the museum description, shortly. At the moment, you can visit and see some of the trapped treasures. The glass sword made it out thanks to Grush's bravery. Everything else...! |
− | |||
− | ====Marvels of Modern Medicine!==== |
− | In a lighter article, the Tribune includes a "Marvels of Modern Medicine!" piece. "Inspired by wonders unforseen" within the museum, the piece offers discussion on advancements in artifice to replace damaged limbs. |
− | |||
− | It had been intended to be part of a larger, more hopeful work. In light of current events, however, the paper is providing it as-is, that it "might still bring hope and joy to some Alexandrians." |
− | |||
− | Included with the article is a paper doll, with "swappable, stylish artifice limbs and accessories!" Drawn by a Tribune artist, the accessories are "more or less" accurate. |
− | |||
− | One option includes a bear-shark punching arm. |
− | |||
− | The paper doll looks suspiciously like Stirling. It is posable, with exchangeable faces of varying degrees of scowl. |
− | |||
− | |||
− | |||
− | ===Kirday, Quintoos 16, 1019=== |
− | ====Artistic troubles!==== |
− | Rumors are flying about that a dragon was at the opening of the museum! A bronze dragon at that! |
− | |||
− | However, tragedy struck as said bronze dragon ended up in a battle and undead started to pour out of an opening in a wall created by a void dragon, rumored to be Heth itself. The wights were fought back, despite the lack of air created by the presence of the void dragon, by many of the people that were at the presentation. Not only an elven archmage who was destroying undead with a word, but an elven archer who kept people safe with his splendid shooting, a brave oruch warrior who was more determined to keep people safe than her own safety using a glass sword, a apparent cleric of Eluna who kept giving the bronze dragon healing magic, a woman dragging people out, and an althean cleric who kept using her divine grace to destroy undead with blue flame, but leapt onto the tail of the bronze dragon to heal many of its wounds so the bronze could seemingly kill that void dragon. |
− | |||
− | The Temple of Vardama and the Hunters of the Dead are currently investigating. |
− | |||
− | (To follow up, speak to Mikilos, Astaren, Grush, Sasha, Kisaiya, Ga'Elian and Rhar) |
− | |||
− | ====What's Under the Mountain?==== |
− | As tidings of wight hordes and Heth spread through Alexandria and beyond like wildfire, some citizens react by hunkering down in their homes, others by running to the temple district or the Castellum for answers. The smart people, though, are putting their trust in Alexandria's world-famed adventurers. |
− | |||
− | One of these adventurers, the wild elf archer Ga'Elian recounted that when the wall of the museum was breached, he got the idea that the hordes of wights spilling into the museum might have been bursting out of the catacombs under the mountain temple of Vardama, as both buildings are excavated out of the same part of the mountain on the southwest of Alexandria. The museum having now been temporarily sealed to contain the hosts of undead within, Ga'Elian ran off toward the Gray Lady's Mountain Temple in case the desecrated corpses began to burst out of it, too. |
− | |||
− | ====Dragons Suck!==== |
− | "No really, they do! Not like they're bad sort of thing, like they literally do! It looked like the sky, it was there and every breath it drew in it SUCKED THE AIR FROM THE ROOM!" The man was on the corner, yelling it at everyone who would pass by. Of course everyone heard of the antics at the museum, the fight, the undead. But this one was dead set on informing people on the danger of dragons. |
− | |||
− | "What else do you know that can do that?!" He throws his arms out and grabs one of the passing people, "YOU! YOU! Have you heard of this?! Can you believe this?! What sort of sorcery could do that?!" The man who was grabbed by the talker stumbled backward and looked about frantically for help but there was nothing to be had. A whip to one way, a whip to the other and they hurry off quickly, covering the side of their face so they don't see the crazy one. |
− | |||
− | "I MEAN IT! It's incredible! You all should've been there! You should've seen it! I LITERALLY SUFFOCATED PEOPLE!" |

− | Just a week before its opening, the Museum of Reflections appears plagued by troubles. In addition to reports yesterday, theft of a museum piece was reported to the local guild. |
− | |||
− | Thankfully, adventurers were able to return the piece without harm. Hopefully this isn't suggestive of the Museum's future! |

− | The Thrasing Dancers are monastic order that is often found in Fate's Spire Monastary. This Tariday, Daeshen 19, they threw a party where they performed elaborate dance routines and encouraged many great adventuters to join them. As this was completed, according to rumor, an object bequeathed to them by an elder of their order split open and reveled an odd silver key that was 'too hot to touch'. |
+ | OOC: This relates to the Crypts plotline. Please RP with Verna, Serraphine, Heinrich, Gregor, Josselyn, or Arisha to get involved! |

+ | ====Sign Posted After Attack==== |
+ | In response to the recent raid on their ovens, Stoneworks' Calzone has posted a new sign: |
− | We are pleased to report that Alexandria has seen its first emergence of a 'magical girl.' A magical girl, according to Arcanist Jenneth at the Society, is someone whose powers are enhanced by outfit changes. Lady Sandiel is believed to have displayed some of these symptoms. Until now, it was believed to have been only arcane theory. |
+ | Calzones so good, even the Hells falls to temptation! |
− | "A few months ago, she started wearing dresses, and inviting you out to tea," a neighbor of Sandy's testified. "But then sometimes, like a week ago, she'd wear something rougher and seemed you know. Changed, but not the same as she was before," he added hastily. |
+ | Another sign posted adds: Smiting practice available after hours. |
− | The Tribune is still investigating. It is apparent that Lady Sandiel has undergone a number of outfit, and personality, changes in the last year. If proven true, this would be a breakthrough for arcane studies everywhere. |

− | OOC2: Contact Sandy only if you are very, very brave! |
+ | Disclaimer: Made out of real demons. ||
− | A group of adventurers was sent on an emergency foray into the catacombs by the temple of Vardama last night. |
+ | ===Ceriday, Vhast 13, 1020=== |

+ | The Tribune seeks illustrations and accounts of the rumored Rainbow Dragon of Alexandria! We are partnered with the local Temple of Navos, who is offering a small reward for verified illustrations regarding this matter. |

− | ====Reflections==== |
− | Kiya Lashani, a half-sil of some repute in the noble district, is glad to announce the construction of a new manor within Alexandria's Upper City. That is, east of the River. "I wish to call it the Hall of Reflections, but that may change. The name came to the tip of my tongue, but that may be a little overused, do you think?" she told the Tribune. Why the Hall of Reflections? |
− | "I've had the greatest fascination with glass since I was a child. The way it can be turned and inspired to great heights. The semi-translucency of it as art. I hope to honor all Alexandrian artists with the manor. I look forward to hosting many events, there. Well, whatever it may end up being called. I'm sure Reos' daughter will offer Her whispers, when it's done." |
+ | ====Update: What a Response!==== |

− | ====Tremors and Troubles==== |
− | Late in the evening of Tariday, Callem 29th, the massive earth elemental that has been a constant fixture on Alexandria's mountain road for so long stirred to life, dropping debris to the street while crowds gathered to see what all the rumbling and commotion was about. The Sildanyari archmage Mikilos was heard to say that the elemental mentioned a great shattering, as of something yet to happen. It then proceeded to trudge toward a cliff overlooking the sea, then witnesses say it melted into the ground, only to reemerge at the beach. A similarly enormous water elemental then rose up, then after a while they both disappeared into their respective elements. A group of adventurers were on the scene, and were heard to speculate that some unnatural phenomenon might be affecting both creatures at the sea floor. |
− | <OOC> This is open for legwork. Inquire with Whirlpool. Players involved can share details: Mikilos, Durrankar, Malorn, Viranchi, and Elian. |

− | ====Mud==== |
− | A year ago...we saw an elemantal come to us. It spoke of pain and went silent. Although other shamans have come forward, and investigated to our shame none of us were able to understand. |
+ | |
− | Today...today we gained in understanding. At the mountains, I asked the spirits to gift my tongue, and called upon the elemental's own language. It rumbled to us, Mage Mikilos and myself, about the world shattering, and told us that things were unstable, underneath. |
− | The more it talked, the more it moved towards the water. I saw it meet another there, a spirit of water. They stared at each other, not moving for a while, just staring, territorial, and then left...earth to earth...water to water... |
+ | |

− | ...I do not know what it means. I ask shamans, shamans of scale and those without, to gather and share wisdom. We must understand. |

− | A ship spontaneously combust in the Northern Tornmawr late last evening. The combustion was said to be caused by demons and proceeded more quickly than any natural flame. ||
+ | Evidently the food at Stoneworks is quite amaising! |

+ | Readers of the 'Alexandrian Rummagepost' will be no doubt familiar with its recent spate of rumors, about a Miniature Yeti. |
+ | <What follows is a copy of the Rummagepost's image, which appears to be a well-done illustration of Kisaiya in a large fur coat.> |
− | ---- |
+ | The 'Rummagepost' reports: Some people are trying to figure out exactly what it is this strange being might be. While some think it's just local Alexandrian, Kisaiya, having sprouted a bunch of extra hair for the winter through some arcane manipulations and esoteric hair spells, others say it's probably not a hair spell at all and indicitive of something much more sinister. |
− | Current editions of are being sold on the streets of Alexandria! More (actual reporting) on the story as it develops! |
+ | What the image represents not clear. The Rummagepost went on to report other possibilities, including the possibility of miniature yetidom. |
+ | While normally it is not the practice of the Tribune to report on other papers' work, this report potentially concerns Alexandrian public health, and we thought it prudent to weigh into the discussion. We presented the reports and illustration to two separate experts within Alexandria. |

− | ====Plant Monsters Bedevil the Nobles ==== |
− | For the last two weeks, despite the best efforts of the guards to keep it quiet, several plant monsters have been bedeviling the upper trades The attacks are believed to be connected and orchestrated by someone with an axe to grind. Perhaps a mad gardener upset at puns about his trade? Who can say? |
− | |||
− | In any case, the guards are suggesting cautiou and any suspect plant growths should be reported to the Watch until the situation is resolved. |
+ | When asked what Yeterius S. is, exactly, the reports we were given indicate that it appears to be the sudden and usually irreversible growth of hair all over one's body. In addition, the individual may develop a sudden, stooped-over position and be prone to grunts. |
+ | However, Alexandria has reported only one case of this disease so far, and we encourage citizens not to worry. However, if you do spot an individual with this condition, please report them immediately to the Soldier's Defense. |

This will be the 16th FAOGTSTRUSAOREOTGAA, and we believe it will be the best yet. Though details are light, rumor is that the Hedge Hogger's league will be making a reappearance, as will Bugbear Edd's Tasty Taco Cart. If you've never attended this festival, consider purchasing a ticket. The venue will be small, so stay ahead of the crowd. Tickets can be bought at the Tribune station, or, alternatively, you can enter our raffle to win two VIP passes and ten free tacos from Edd's cart! It promises to be an exciting event, and we hope to meet all of you there! |
+ | ====Assault on Mictlan==== |
+ | A Chaneth Noble mounted an assault on Mictlan in clear violation of Alexandrian territorial rights. |
+ | The attack on Mictlan was repelled by a number of adventurers and local tribesfolk. |
− | (OOC: IC advertising for an upcoming PRP. Page Garrahk if interested in the raffle.) |
+ | Amongst those at Mictlan prior to the attack were Durrankar and Un'eth, two druids of well reknown who safely aided a number of wounded of Mictlan out of the area prior to the Assault. Without their influence the civilian casualties at Mictlan would've been far more substantial. |

− | ====River Stew-ards==== |
− | "We must be better stewards." That was the message from the Green sent to the City Council this week. The item of discussion was the Tornmawr River and bay area. The Tornmawr River is a major trade channel for Alexandros, as well as neighboring countries and city-states. |
+ | Tensions between Charn and Alexandria have risen again, though neither side is willing to take blame for any of the events leading up to this. |
− | As such, it can get clogged with traffic and trade debris. This is most evident within the city of Alexandria, itself. |
+ | OOC: This is part of the Silver and Sith arc! |
− | The Green has increased its presence locally near the River, and is encouraging the City to address pollution issues. Rumors have it that they may also seek an updated alliance with the local otyugh population, which would be one of the more efficient ways to address the issue. |
− | |||
− | OOC: The river is a major tradeway for Alexandros and much of the surrounding contintent. This is an invitation to RP river cleanup to help the issue. Expect to see druids in the area, as well as otyughs. |

− | ====New KDC Membership Benefits Alexan==== |
− | The Guild announced an agreement with local merchants, to provide the Kidnapped Damsel Card. |
− | |||
− | "It's quite simple, you know. Every time you get kidnapped, you get punches in this card, here. Then, you get bonuses at participating local restaurants and businesses!" explained one of the spokespersons for the Adventurer's Guild. |
− | |||
− | The Kidnapped Damsel Card was apparently inspired by Myrana Jn'Rajh Arwenieniallwehn. It depicts Lady Sandiel in knight's armor, swooping in to rescue her. |
− | |||
− | ===Eliday, Aestry 30, 1019=== |
− | ====Marsh Madness==== |
− | Sources say that a goblinoid village in the swamplands of Alexandria's Heartlands has been experiencing unusual problems. Goblintown has become flooded with 'refugees' from the village, citing conflict and a bad crop season. Previously, the small village had been entirely unremarkable, a peaceful community with next to no effect on local events or economy. Now the refugees, who are buying up all the rations and gear all over Alexandria, 'in case bad stuff goes down', are claiming that the goblinoid town is mired in death and turmoil and some sort of civil war. |
− | |||
− | More disturbing, is the stories that the refugees tell of dead bodies rising up out of the marsh, and mutated strange animals and aberrations coming from deeper in the swampland. The tales describe waves of the creatures, every few days, and more each time, as if some cyclical event is creating them and sending them out scouring the area. But for what? |
− | |||
− | A hue and cry has begun for the Hunters of the Dead, or any other local adventurers willing to investigate the situation, to head out into the marshlands and try to discover the source of the evil! |
− | |||
− | (OOC: Rumor/Groundwork for a plot, which will be run in a week or two. A variety of plot 'forks' are possible depending on the legwork/preparation that PC's want to go through. Contact Caine for more details if interested!) |

− | ====Garrahk, of the Mountains==== |
− | Rumor spreads about a rather odd young Oruch who has began popping up here and there around the city. Though he caries a great blade, and has the scars of a warrior, he seems less prone to fights than most of his kind. In fact, some of the local children have began to say that if you catch him fishing on the banks of the Tornmawr, he will tell you a story from the northlands! All about barbarians, and hunting, and princesses. |

− | ====Ships Vanish!==== |
− | Spice merchants report ships vanishing when sailing through the Sea of Shattered Swords. These ships bear goods from Veyshan as well as the Islands of Jade, and the value they represent is not insignificant. |
− | |||
− | So far, they have filed an investigation, though no word is forthcoming. At this time, no pirates have claimed responsibility. |
− | |||
− | OOC: Congrats Kravar! Your submission was randomly selected, and I'll be running a kaiju story based on it within the next few weeks. This will be a little slow moving due to some rl-foo, bit I am hoping it will be fun. :3 |

− | ====New Chord==== |
− | Rumor is that a new Chord of Vardama (and can we ever trust those Vardamen types after, well you know, the troubles) has arrived and begun making themselves at home in the Temple, finding people to report to, doing guard shifts, joining in the chants. A wolfish looking older fellow, he's obviously seem some action or had a hard life up to this point. He clearly leans towards the more martial side of things, often when he is seen strolling through town he's openly armed with simple daggers and shruiken. |
− | |||
− | Perhaps even more interesting, is that there are rumors (though this may only be anti-Vardamen sentiment bubbling through) that he fairly closely resembles sketches of a human wanted for various assassinations in other nearby regions. . . . |
− | |||
− | Caine is a Lvl 2 Monk with a checkered past, a bit too much knowledge of the criminal underworld, and dedicated to the Temple of Vardama. He's fairly easy-going, even if he is a bit tactless, and interested in getting involved around town in efforts rebuilding the Temple or maybe getting hired to come along on some adventures as extra muscle! |

− | ====Sandiel's Generosity Saves an Aleh==== |
− | The Empty Flagon became the Endless Flagon this last week, thanks to a kind donation of ale and beer from Lady Sandiel. Smiling, and bowing behind her kerchief, Lady Sandiel blushingly presented the drinks to the owner of the Endless Flagon. |
− | |||
− | "We were ...sur--grateful for her generosity!" chuffed the owner, Bobbins. |
− | |||
− | "And the kisses she gave everyone later were just darling," he added, with a modest blush. "It was generous enough that we felt we were no longer the Empty Flagon, but the Endless Flagon!" |
− | |||
− | These events would occur only days before the Empty Flagon erupted into a fountain of rum, which many attribute to some meddling adventurers...or a leftover blessing from Lady Sandiel. In response to the patronage and the unexpected fountain, some have taken to honoring with the title: "Her Ladyship of Rum," or "Her Rummy Ladyship." |

− | ====Poetic Shadows==== |
− | Shadows mysteriously retreated this Ceriday and continued to be absent into late night. Its cause is uncertain, and has been attributed to a variety of sources--including the bright, burning of fires in celebration of the God of Inspiration. Weather changes for example, though others list religious ones. |
− | |||
− | In response however, the Tribune reports a great(er) outpouring of poems from various, mul poets within Alexandria. Such poems are a longstanding tradition of the race; it is only of late that they have received prominence. Below, we have published a few samples provided to us. |
− | |||
− | |||
− | "Growth from Glass" |
− | |||
− | :I drown in darkness |
− | :The darkness of despair |
− | :I suffocate in lies |
− | :The truth I cannot hear |
− | |||
− | :I yearned once for sunlight |
− | :But that it betrayed |
− | :Truths no more |
− | :Light ravages my soul |
− | |||
− | :Hear the tear drops |
− | :As they fall from my eyes |
− | :The hidden secrets |
− | :And stolen lies |
− | |||
− | :Down dwell deep |
− | :Where the truth shall rest |
− | :Germinating, growing |
− | :Until we slaughter the rest |
− | |||
− | |||
− | "Heart's Blood Staggers" |
− | |||
− | <this poem consisted of a paper covered in red dye; it is scrawled as to be mostly unlegible and with the words 'suffering' written alongside the margins> |

− | ====Grisht Letters Uncovered==== |
− | We at the Tribune have been receipt of a remarkable set of letters--remarkable! How they were delivered, their mysterious source, remains unknown. They arrived to us recently through means of a courier, its only mark a setting sun. We have spent the previous week verifying their authenticity, as much as possible. |
− | |||
− | Though private, we believe these may offer a "last look" into the life of one of Alexandria's fallen heroes, and perhaps the end of an unsettling mystery that has bedeviled family and friends alike. |
− | |||
− | We therefore publish them in their entirety. |
− | |||
− | |||
− | Dear Grisht, |
− | |||
− | I'm so glad you wrote me. There have been so many things said of the District of late. They talk up the fights as--well, I am sure you know. They've painted your opponent as a dangerous, half-maddened troll. And here you are sending me letters of sitting down for a drink! |
− | |||
− | How much can a troll drink, I wonder? Or is he a troll at all? Oh, it's all a mystery to me--you and your world. It's like peeking into a fairytale sometimes, one I'm just beginning to learn about. ...though I admit sometimes to being a little afraid of it. Were you not at its center, so strong and so steady, I would be frightened, indeed. |
− | |||
− | I know you tell me not to worry, but you know I will. |
− | |||
− | Missing you. |
− | |||
− | |||
− | |||
− | Dear Grisht, |
− | |||
− | It was good to read your letter. We shared it over the table, mum and I. We're making a lamb for tomorrow night--won't that be wonderful! We both look forward to your stories, as always. You lend them a warmth we just don't see in the papers. |
− | |||
− | I'm not supposed to tell you this, but we watched the match from the stands. I suppose your opponent wasn't a half-troll, but he sure was frightening, as he swing his axe. Never fear that I missed my studies to do it; well. I suppose you should, but we all take a little risk now and then, I suppose. |
− | |||
− | |||
− | |||
− | Dear Grisht, |
− | |||
− | I was so glad to see you at dinner the other day. We didn't get the time we wanted--but that's always true, isn't it? Between your practice and my studies...but, you'll be that carpenter one day, and ...well, I've a few more years, until we get there. |
− | |||
− | I'll see what I can find about that ring of yours. If you won it from a nobleman, well--that could be a story, couldn't it! It's gorgeous, in its own way. Gaudy, a bit--but considering its origins, I guess I shouldn't be surprised. Either way, I'm excited. |
− | |||
− | ...please stay safe. I know it's all show, but. ...well, you know I always worry, but I'm always so glad to see you, too. |
− | |||
− | |||
− | |||
− | Dear Grisht, |
− | |||
− | I found something on that ring of yours. From what I can tell, it's tied to the Temple of Althea. ...well, not directly to them, but it carries their magic. It was made years ago, for a young nobleman, then passed on to his daughter, and then to her son. The original noble was Fifshen, and he was of Alexandria. He...his house died with the passing of his granddaughter. |
− | |||
− | According to my notes, it possessed a strong curative effect. |
− | |||
− | Grisht, are you in trouble? |
− | |||
− | |||
− | |||
− | Regretfully, the letters end here. Grisht's letters--to whomever they may have been--we may never know. As to a "mysterious ring," it remains a mystery to us! If you have any information on this object, please supply it to the Tribune. |
− | |||
− | As you know, Grisht's death was eventually ruled a murder, by causes unknown. Any information may help both his family, and fans. |

− | ====Rainbows Brew Vandalism==== |
− | Stoneworks' Calzones reported vandalism this past Gilday. "Someone came in here, and put food colorin' in all our drinks," reported Embma Shaletracker, co-owner with her husband, Jaruda. "When we served them, there were these rainbows and sparkles, and imaginary horns stickin' out on top." |
− | |||
− | "They looked like liquified unicorn in a cup," replied Jaruda, wryly. "Not that...we'd ever serve such a thing." |
− | |||
− | The "unicornification" seems, after investigation, to be a harmless prank. In response, Embma and Jaruda have declared a "week-long happy hour" in which visitors may enjoy ales and beers (if a little more colorful than usual) at 1/2 price. |
− | |||
− | "Help us clear out tha inventory!" Jaruda declared! |
− | |||
− | ===Tariday, Bernfleur 25, 1019=== |
− | ====Murder at Dawn==== |

− | ====Visiting Poet Strikes a Prose!==== |
− | "Vengeful Sorrows Within" |
− | |||
− | :What have you done to me? A haze of betrayal, as perceptions crawl... |
− | :Once we drank of paradise, glad-hearted within Darkness |
− | :And wide-eyed, but your thirst soured into a vengeful morass of |
− | :Blood and tears |
− | :Follow hate, follow blood, love ground to dust |
− | :In a torrent of vengeance, I condemn you! |
− | |||
− | ...such are the words of Elviran, visiting and sponsored Council Poet! Known among the Caverns for her powerful verse and heart-felt, savage prose upon the stage, the poet Elviran represents a rarity among mul'niessa. That is, she has been sponsored by the Council to "share the as-yet unknown beauty of the mul, and the strength the pain of their noble sacrifice and ascension represents." The above is a translation from Undercommon, whereupon the words are harsher, and considered to have that essential "burrsome, yet vengeful snarl" associated with such emotions. |
− | |||
− | The above poem is said to reference ties between two mul, one of whom turned from the One True Darkness (aka, Taara). |
− | |||
− | Elviran has not stated the length of her visit, only that she intends to enjoy the Alexandrian theatre and it's "more relaxed approach, so alien to the joyful, fulfilling rigours of mul society." |
− | |||
− | ===Eliday, Bernfleur 23, 1019=== |
− | ====Body Missing==== |
− | Officials are still investigating the dissapearance of a corpse associated with a recent discovery (and investigation) of a Mage's Prison. |
− | |||
− | Mage's Prisons are so-called because of their usage to bind extraplanar beings and unwholesome experiments, the existence of such prisons outside of official sanction (for enforcement purposes) has been under close scrutiny of local governments for years. Rune had officially looked down on the practice, though less scrupulous mages were known to practice in secret. With Rune's dissolution, it has fallen to local governments to decide on enforcement. |
− | |||
− | Investigations are still underway. |

− | ====ALEXANDRIAN TRIBUNE==== |
− | |||
− | =====Front Page===== |
− | |||
− | Attack in Nobles' District! |
− | |||
− | A building in the noble district belonging to the prominent Telenil family, distant relatives of head of the city council Rawyn Telenil, imploded. |
− | |||
− | City officials have been somewhat circumspect on the cause of the collapse but several notable adventurers were said to be on scene and some speculate that they are likely to blame. Others say a group of children stumbled upon a dangerous magical artifact which has now been contained by the Aquisitioners, the Elunan sect, some of whom were said to've been spotted on the site after the implosion. |
− | |||
− | Rawyn Telenil issued a statement indicating her continuing support of the Guild of Explorers and its membership in solving problems too dangerous and difficult for the common man. The loss of a family property is 'small, compared to the dangers that were faced'. |
− | |||
− | |||
− | Soldiers' Defense News |
− | |||
− | The Soldier's Defense Hospital was evacuated in the wake of some kind of poison gas attack. Several golems and hardy adventurers were called to clear the place out and it seems to be that foul and fallen individuals deliberately let loose the gas in an attempt to rob the tithings vault. They were swiftly defeated and none survived and no doubt Althea will ensure they receive their just rewards. |
− | |||
− | The Watch Constables of Alexandria are asking all citizens to keep an eye out for a five foot eleven, slender and dark haired man who has gone by the name of 'Argus'. He has a dinstinctive scar on his right hand running from his pointer finger to his wrist. |

Recent Website Updates
January 13, 2018
Hey, folks! In the past, we've had a few 'Ongoing PrPs.' Sebropert, Selerik, Astaren, and others have run these and helped establish them as a medium on Tenebrae! Lately, Kisaiya picked them up and reminded this old beagle that one, HEY, THOSE ARE A THING, and HEY, THEY ARE PRETTY FRIGGIN AWESOME!
Ongoing PrPs are PrPs where PCs cause scenes to happen through roleplay and legwork. Usually, a GM opens a queue (or PCs do) and you're like: 'I do this thing.'
Based on your input, scenes happen. These plox will keep rolling via scenes, ongrid interactions, legworks, and whatever else needs to happen for the story. This makes them great for things like:
- Skullduggery!
- Exploration!
- Problem-solving!
- Investigation!
(They're pretty similar or even THE SAME THING to an arc\; it's just that the legwork thread adds this extra element of THINGS TO DO!)
SO! For the next two months, we'll be giving bonuses to these ONGOING PRPs. ...and any mini-arcs you'd like to run! Run one any time between now and the IDES OF MARCH, and at its completion, you'll receive an additional PrP bonus for an encounter at your level, with gold.
For any Ongoing PrPs, I'll also be awarding some BONUS RPPs to participating players, AND the GM, who partake actively in these Ongoing PrPs.
Come talk to me if you're curious or would like help. :3 As an aside, if you're wanting to involve a 'just two skill points per level' PC and are flailing, I wrote the darn RPP system. Come see me and I'll help you use it to flesh out your awesome story. Or, addcom tpk=TPK to join our GM's channel, as well! We have so many great folks here on Tenebrae, and each and every one of you are made of awesome. :3
December 24, 2017
Heya! Just a reminder that we're continuing our PrP bonus through the new year! Also, we've gone ahead and included some new RAGE POWERS and WITCH HEXES. Please check them out!
- NEW HEXES! Soothsayer, Mud Witch, Cursed Wound, Discord, Beast of Ill-Omen, Unnerve Beasts, Disrupt Connection, Animal Hide, Pariah, Witch’s Charge, City Sight, Enemy Ground, No Place Like Home, Summer's Heat
- NEW RAGE POWERS! Armor Ripper, Bloody Fist, Erratic Charge, Greater Erratic Charge, Savage Dirty Trick, Two-fanged Pounce
If you'd like to update your PC with one of these options, please just let us know via SHEET. As with all new material, expect some bumps here and there. Happy holidays, everyone. :3

Community Rumors!
If you've an arvek nar alt, please check your @mail. :D
Oh! Because it came up--the rumors I'm sending out are for you to use. They could be used in RP, or you are even welcome to toss in legwork. My main goal with them is to create a sense of a living world--that different groups will hear different stories. Some of the rumors are as result of legwork others have done, are from a plot, or are updates from GMs. More general rumors are always published in the Tribune.

Iconics Feedback Wanted!
Hey, folks. :3 We are looking for feedback! What is the one, iconic thing about your favorite race? What do you wish they could do? For example, for arvek nar, you might write: "Arvek are v smelly! They should have the power to dissipate all soap! Oops, I just mean Boshter..."
So, please let us know!
Unsung Heroes
Sometimes, things sneak up on you. Like gnomes, for example.
On rereading gnomish history, I came to realize a few things. Gnomes are responsible for many of the advances in technology, arcane theory, craft theory, and so on in world history.
It is just that no one wants to acknowledge it.
You keep on goin', gnomes. Keep on. :D
PS I'm afraid this isn't really a joke.
PPS We should all be afraid.
PPPS I'm going to have trouble sleeping, tonight.
PPPPS I'll take that extra chocolate, please. Just add a little rum.

New Racial Feats are In!
Heya!
Our new race feats are in! We've done a bit of cleanup based on your feedback, and you can find the results, here: http://tenebraemush.net/index.php/Racials_Draft_Review
They are not in the main wiki feats pages yet, but they are in code.
What this means is, if you'd like to exchange or add a race feat, please let us know via a SHEET +req. We'll be adding them to the main wiki pages as we can.
Finally, if you missed it the first time around, the Indomitable PrC is live and ready to go!
This concludes this release package. :3
As with all new material, please expect changes and updates along the way!

Each person can earn up to two! To receive one, just send in an RPP as normal. Then, roll a 1d8 to it to see which one you get! Or, we might catch you ongrid!

Warp of Time!
Hey, folks. The place our server is in did the time warp last night, so you may notice a difference in internal time. The US should catch up on the 5th. Please adjust +time (+help time) as you need to, or wait until the 5th and just take things with a grain of salt!

Welcome Aboard!
Just wanted to toss a big shoutout to our new folks! Welcome to the community, and we hope you'll enjoy your stay, here!
Tenebrae is an old game, focused on fantasy and adventure. We run Pathfinder, but if you are new to it, don't worry. Our code handles a lot of the calculations, and we have a pretty helpful community. We're all geeks, here. :D
RPPs are a bonus system that let you earn roleplay-focused perks by developing your character. Once you're comfortable (and take your time!), you'll be able to buy things such as Aspects, a pact-bond with an outsider, or an ancestral weapon who speaks with you. They also give you advantages in combat, such as the ability to reroll your hit dice, skip past a level, and will give you a little xp/gp when submitted for RP ongrid!
We love roleplay, so we are kinda biased when it comes to rewarding it. XD Tenebrae has a mixture of roleplay ongrid, as well as scenes. Join any scene by hitting +events and don't hesitate to ask for RP. We are pretty chill and a mixed-age crowd, from young to family folks and grandparents. Around 4-6 CST you'll find a crowd of folks driving home from work, though it does not mean everyone is in the Americas. It does mean there are enough that you'll see that 'work-home rush' each day. We try to keep things fairly PG-13, though that's the same rating as the Lord of the Rings movies, and you do not get more epic than that!
We also offer incentives and support for running PrPs, such as:
- A policy that lets you run anywhere, any time. Use our plot rooms, or hit +timestop and run ongrid.
- Our tongue-in-cheek'ly named TPK chat for sharing plot ideas and get advice. addcom tpk=TPK
- Recent Arcs page! Make your own arc page for that story you'd like to tell. Or, get Lahar to help you! http://tenebraemush.net/index.php/Recent_History
- A fully fleshed-out +events system!
...there's more here and there, including our holiday bonuses. There is a lot here, so feel free to check things out as you go, ask questions, and so on. Our crew is a helpful bunch and we're glad to have you. :3

Mind if I Skip a Few?
I'm skipping a few updates and hitting the hilights, here. :D We've had a lot of testing, and new items for Release Packages! If you haven't checked them out, check out +bbread 1! Now, onto the holiday rollout!!!
Through December!
More good news. XD Pathfinder is about derring-do, adventuring, and good times with friends. In that spirit, we'll be offering thank-yous to folks who run, at least through December. If y'all enjoy this, we may see about extending it!
So what's going on?
- If you're awesome and have run 3 PrPs in a Month: Receive a full, PrP bonus just for you!
- If you're EXTRA awesome and have run 4 PrPs in a Month: Your above bonus is instead awarded at 150%
So, just for running 3 PrPs, you'll receive a full PrP bonus on top of that. If you run 4, you instead receive a PrP bonus at 150%.
Timers reset at midnight on the last day of each month. We have to have some way to count this, after all.
As with all new things, expect feedback and updates.
Game on!

New Loot Sheet!
Ok! A BIG thank-you to Kisaiya for helping us work all of this out, and for the patience! We've put together a final version of the loot spreadsheet: https://goo.gl/EgpXNN
New LOOT jobs will include this URL. If you used the previous version, please make sure yours has 'Tenebrae Loot Sheet v2' at the top.
(As an aside, there may be a cosmetic adjustment in the next day or so, but the sheet itself works great. :3)
Thanks for all the work, Kisa!
Wanted Concepts
From time to time, we get asked about Wanted Concepts! While we always prefer you to play what you like, if you are up for it, here are a few ideas!
Arvek: In Blar, arvek were controlled by the Cult of Thul, vampiric sorcerers who forced them into physical, and mental slavery. With the cult's fall, they worked to rebuild. Many of them came to Alexandria. Seen originally as symbols of freedom, Taara's work soon meant even more refugees would flood the city. Also, the arvek look...different. It's led to some tensions, and the establishment of high-minded groups like the Sunset, who work to make things better.
Dragonier Refugees: ...Dragonier fell shortly after Blar. Alexandria was flooded with bloodied homeless with nothing left but the clothes on their backs. These refugees know what it's like to work with the great beasts--and how to make a stand against Maugrim's forces.
Priests and Druids of the Green: The Green council spearheaded the treaty with the sith-makar, the first of its kind in the world. Now, while they're working on more 'mundane' tasks such as working with Alexandria to keep the river clean, Heth goes and destroys not just a nation, but lays waste to its land and soul.The Green's servants are more active than they have been in ages, and with reason.
Myrrish: Myrddion is tied down by a cold civil war. All sorts of people are finding this...uncomfortable. And, not all the nobles are behaving while the princes are occupied. To folks with common sense, it's a red flag. They're getting out, or looking for help. (Take this in a general sense. Small nobles will begin to abuse their authority, test the boundaries, etc.)
Gnomes: Gnomes are Obsessed that there aren't enough of them!
Khazad: Having achieved the first hint of unity since the Ur and mul'niessa tore the Mountain apart, the khazad's royal couple suffered attacks on both their lives, and that of their unborn heir. Though the coup was overthrown, the North (and neighboring allies) are at uneasy peace. The Betrayal of the North and what it meant, the near-loss of the Khazadi Dream, is fresh on their minds.

Release Package 27, Part 2!
...due to the size of this Release Package, we will be rolling it out in stages! The first stage saw the release of new Aspects. Now, we are adding two new options!
- We've updated RPP requests! In addition to rewarding an RPP, any +request/rpp will award bonus XP and GP.
- Add people to legwork! After submitting a LEGwork, you can use the +myjob/source command to add your friends!
Associated +help files have been updated to reflect these changes.
As always with new content, there may be some burps. We are still working on the final parts of this Release Package. It may take some time, so please be patient.
In the meantime, please send Whiteout a big THANK YOU! He has been making this magic happen. :D

Jan 04, 2017
Save the World!
I just realized!
Last edition featured TWO gnomish articles...and if that was not horrible enough, a picture of a gnome!
We face a gnomepocolypse, people. So this is what I am going to do.
If we receive at least two, nongnomish articles by the end of this week, I will offer bonuses next week for PrPs featuring giant war golems with pew-pew lazers!
If we receive one or none, I will offer bonuses to anyone who features gnomes in every single plot next week, with generous additional chocolate chip cookies sent to Whirlpool for the use of contagious weregnomes...
The choice...is yours.
Tenebrae's future is in your hands. Let's save the world.

Legwork: A Mini-Guide for Player GMs
What is a Legwork Queue, and Why do I want one as a GM?
Have you ever had one of the following situations?
- Players want to look into the bad guy's organization!
- Players want to follow-up on a rumor!
Perhaps you'd like to:
- Encourage players to coordinate their inventories/purchases for an especially tough scene ahead!
- Let players accomplish some things that require some effort, but not necessarily a full scene run by you. Or perhaps it just happens over time. These efforts probably lead to a scene, but you're not there yet.
...and so on. The above are examples of what you might want to use a legwork for. They are not the limit!
How do I Set One Up?
Any player GM may request a Legwork queue, and have as many or as few players added to it as they wish. There are two ways to do this:
- If your legwork immediately follows an event, type: +event/leg <#>=Hi! I've opened a legwork on this scene. Use +myjob/add <#> to reply to it. This will auto-add all /confirmed players from that scene.
- If your legwork does not immediately follow an event, just +request/legwork a scene yourself! Then, +myjob/source <#>=<name> <name> <name>. This command only works on legwork!
What Can I do with Them?
You can...
- Ask for +rolls for investigative work
- Ask players how they intend to accomplish a goal
- Offer details on investigation, and any updated rumors
- Even provide a miniature plot summary
- ...and anything else you can think of
Legworks are a tool for every GM and player. Also, players may request or open them as well. Though this mini-guide isn't focused on that, you are free to request other PCs be added to your own legwork queues, as well.
UPDATE: Check out +help requests2 for some new options, just for GMs!

Happy Holidays, pt 2!
Not so long ago, we had some of you send in ideas. Many ideas! Wonderful ideas for Aspects! Well, our new Aspects page just expanded! We're pleased to announce the addition of two! new aspects, as well as an edit to Dream-Touched.
As with all new material, expect adjustments to be made over time. Also, if you possessed a different Aspect and would like to change it for a new one, this may also be done at this time.
While these were originally to be part of the next Release Package, health and the holidays have interfered with that. But, we wanted y'all to have fun just the same!

Sparkliest Holiday Evar!
Howdy! This year, we thought we'd hit the holidays a little early! 2016 has been a big year, and we see no reason not to make 2017 the most sparkly on record!
So, starting on the 26th--that is, after Thanksgiving--anyone who runs two PrPs from then until the end of December will receive a gift of their choice! One of these PrPs must be a 4-8 scene. The reason for this ofc, is to let folks test out their new awesomes, and to give our new players--many of whom recently reached L4 or are close to it, some time in the limelight.
- If you're new and between 2-5: Earn 1 full level to any alt!
- If you already have an alt that's at level 6 or higher, pick one of:
- A new, L7 PC! The primary class must be a wizard, cleric, bard, witch, or cavalier! We are offering some <3 to our support PCs this year! Also, if you have one of these in a higher tier, we ask that this new PC be of a different class. This is just to keep things mixed up.
- A full +1 level to any alt of L9 or lower!
This is awardable once per player. The above takes the place of your runner's awards for those 2 PrPs.
Happy holidays, everyone!

Diversity
Hey, folks. We know there is a lot going on right now in the US, and that we have many players, and staff from that area. In light of it, we'd just like to reiterate that Tenebrae will continue to be supportive of LGBTQ, and of people of all races, genders, religions, and stripes.
Thank you for making this game what it is.

Code Update
- Do you hate math?
- Do you like HP?
- Do you like others taking notes for you?
If you answered YES to one or more of these questions, then CONGRATULATIONS! You are a winner due to the following updates to +timestop and +sheet damage-related code:
- Damage is now tracked, and current HP=MAX HP - Damage
- This means it's now properly correct, and changes to MAX HP will adjust current appropriately
- TEMP HP now display in +hp!
- Temp HP are now mentioned, if appropriate, when damaged
- Our new Bloodragers (and good ol' Barbarians) now get their Rage temp HP auto-added (and removed) when using +rage!

The Hunt is On!
"In the honor of the White Stag, we call the Hunt! Tonight, we course under Eluna's light! Let no prey escape us--be it wight or undeath that marks these cursed lands! Let them be felled beneath blade and steel!" Gilead's Hunter lowers his arms. Speaking in hushed tones, he moves among the ranks of warriors. Steam rises from the landscape ahead of them, the wight-filled wreckage of Heth's domain. Beneath it all, the wretched cry of the Green, and lost souls beyond.
This season, the High Hunt has been declared on the wreckage of Dragonier's borders. They go to rescue souls, and claim back the Green. At least, what they can.
To celebrate the HUNT! (and Halloween!) we'll be giving out unique Candy Corn MIs, in addition to normal Small Story and PrP awards! PrPs and stories are assumed to take place along the borderlands.
What do these do? When you run a PrP or SS related to the Hunt, we'll provide an @mail letting you in on the details! Some will be useful adventuring items, others will produce random acts of mayhem!
Game on, and ride high!

Release Package 26!
Welcome to Release Package 26! As with all new material, please expect some bugs and burps as we go along! Also, as with all new material, you will be able to make adjustments at this time.
In RP26, you will find...
- BLOODRAGER! Noble warriors crafted by a secretive oruch clan, their magic has set loose upon Ea's soil! What role these heroes play in the upcoming war is too early to tell... If you are planning to convert to bloodrager, please do the following:
- 1. Rename your current character to OLD<name>. Log out!
- 2. Create a new character bit, and name them your old PC's name.
- 3. Go through chargen and advance to L2 as normal! Remember to copy over your old @desc, shor-desc, background, and any +finger information as well. Also: PLEASE DO NOT BUY ANYTHING AT THIS TIME. Nor should you transfer your inventory, or exchange items between PCs! Staff will take care of this at approval.
- 4. Apply for approval!At this time, staff will award you the rest of your XP, and a stipend. You will be set at your WBL equal to your fractional XP. Huzzah!
- Also, while Bloodrager and Dragon Disciple should work fine, there may be some issues with Bloodrager + Sorc + DD, but we will hammer those out as they come!
- New rage powers! We have added the Celestial totem!
- New spells! New spells for almost every class!
- New artificer discoveries! Pew pew chaos and law!
- Tweaks to Ranger and Paladin spellcasting! The -3 has been removed. When Paizo crafted bloodrager, removing the -3 was one of the things they tested. We saw no reason to continue it, as it makes calculations more difficult. Hopefully this smooths things over a bit for everyone!
- Tweaks to Ranger AC! The -3 has been removed. If you are a ranger, please contact staff via +request so that we can set you up.
We hope you enjoy the new content! We're expecting a high number of +requests, so please be patient with us. In the meantime, THE HUNT AGAINST HETH opens tomorrow, so please check it out!

Howdy! To help things a bit, I am going to try a new thing! This thing is adding OPENS: and CLOSES: events to +events! OPENS is when something starts, such as Aspect submissions! CLOSES is well, the last day!
Please let me know if this is helpful for you!

Magic of Ea!
We are looking at Bloodrager officially launching sometime between the 15th and 17th! This is BIG NEWS, and I know everyone has been pretty excited! Bloodrager represents honor, strength, and the development of arcane in new, awesome ways across Alexandria!
The world is responding.
Nations, denizens are beginning to report new developments, new sparks across Ea.
We'd like YOU to help make that happen! While Release Package 26 is on the horizon (thank you, everyone!) we're beginning work on 27! In it, we would like to add two new Aspects! So, for the next two weeks, until Bloodrager! is released, pepper us with your ideas! I will describe how in the next post.
Also, please feel free to RP various magic "sparks" happening during RP. For example, a pair of magic shoes walk out of Sandy's mysteriously breaking stove! It is all part of the story. :D

How to Pitch Aspects!
Have an idea for ASPECTS? Please +pitch it! Here are some guidelines!
- T1: +1-2 skill or +Language
- T2: +3 to skills in a descriptive situation, or 1st level spell or minor 2nd
- T3: Narrow 2nd-3rd level spell
Aspects try to:
- - Focuses on a theme
- - Emphasize that they're Ea's magic responding to you. SF-X is a thing!
- - Emphasize and aid roleplay!
- - Not emphasize combat power (and never hit/damage, as these are available elsewhere, and this would result in whackiness!)
- - Sometimes offer thematic utility to concepts that might not otherwise have access to it
Whew! See you soon! :D

What are SS Groups??
So, what ARE these things? Small Stories are traditionally focused around a PC, but recently staff realized--hey, why not do one together? But, isn't Tenebrae !clique?
Well, let's look at what a group is:
Group: A group is something easily definable and reachable in a way that makes it INCLUSIVE. That is, races, classes, and so on. Orgs can be a group if you include that org's allies. The point is, anyone with those interests, class, organization/ally membership could join in.
Clique: Cliques are by their nature EXCLUSIVE, and tend to be defined by vague "friends only" terms that are not achievable by folks outside the clique. While it is human nature to attach to those like us, and exclude others, this sort of thing over time ends up doing more harm than good, and is not something we want to see here on Tenebrae.
...so, for Small Stories, the first is awesome, but the second is probably not intended. This doesn't mean not to RP or make stories with friends--it does mean branching out. Small Story cliques are treated similarly to PrPs in terms of rewards. That is, an increasingly reduced reward, so the same policy applies there as here.
Anyway, Small Stories are a unique thing, after all! So, if more ideas or questions come up, please ping us as in a lot of ways, we are learning, too.
Sept 27, 2016
The Revel
In just 3 days, Alexandria celebrates THE REVEL! You may have seen this on +events (as a CAL +event).
During the Revel, the Theatre District is the place to be, though celebrations will spread throughout the City. Alexandrias' noted theatres, the Flightwright and Hope, will compete for players and audiences alike, the Arcanists will be out in force with demonstrations of whimsy and illusion.
The Revel marks the last chance at celebration before the coming cold months. As with any IC holiday, it is open for RP, PrPs, and anything else you can think of. So, game on!
Sept 23, 2016
Please use +bb 9 to share your favourite stories, or fun poses from AWESOME RP!!!, today! We'll award you RPP just for doing it, and you might just make someone's day awesome by complimenting their RP! This can be poses, or a summary of something cool that happened.

Thank You, Story Mentors!
A big THANK YOU! to our players. This thank you! is big enough that it deserves its own post! A number of you have stepped up to be story mentors! What is a story mentor? Page them to find out! You'll see 'Story Mentor' appearing beside their name in WHO at select weeks during the event, Sept 22-Oct 22!
These are awesome folks. Thank you! :D

Dran and Rune War!
Okay, folks! The final battle for Rune is on! The shield has been breached and bad thigns are going on all over the city! Dran's nose has been bloodied and their initial assault repulsed by the fury of Rune's wizards, but a few towers have been toppled by explosions. Elementals, mammoths, rocs, and countless soldiers of Dran are pouring into Rune, facing off with the unmatchde might of the wizards, their summoned creatures, constructs and more. It's brutal, ugly, and all of the Alexandrian irregulars have been comissioned to help continue evaucating civilians from the city as well as to strike at Arendt's men. Arendt wanted his fight versus Rune's power and he's finally got it. So far, it dun look good for him.
This event will be run over the course of a few weeks OOC to give everyone the chance to run a war-related PRP that wants to as well as take part in fighting Arendt's forces in bloody street-to-street battles as Dran tries to advance (at great cost). All PRPs will be death consent automatically and receive FULL REWARDS commensurate with the risk incurred.
Take advantage, folks!
The actual-time space of the warfare will be only over a few days despite the length of time required to play it out. Once it is all complete and wrapped up, we will have another scene to cap it off and move onto the next part of our story!
Death Consent is a Go!
Since it was buried in the text of my previous post, I'd like to reiterate:
All plots relating to Rune and Dran right now are automatically death consent plots. If you die, you die. They will receive full rewards in XP and magical items for the duration.
Please take advantage of this! :D

New Area Ongrid!
Only weeks ago, the Artificer's Hall ripped upwards from the earth, lifting itself on spiderlike legs. It remains in the air today, supported on eight, mechanical legs. Underneath however...
...it is whispered the Hall's basements lead to places they should not. That, should one delve deep enough, they might lead even to Morduzum. But...that's crazy. Right?
There is no official statement, yet. However, officials are scambling to get a response out. They say to expect a column within the next issue of the Tribune.
OOC: We're opening a new are ongrid! You're now welcome to run dungeons, and dungeon-adventures beneath Alexandria! The access point is beneath the Hall--which even now, agents of Reos are scrambling to block off. Eventually, there will be a well-constructed, locked doorway that will be guarded around the clock. Of course, adventurers can still get access.
Local artificers will all be called in this week and next to finish the door. :3
If you'd like to find out more, RP with our artificers ongrid!

- Security updates here and there (despite bidding, Renfrey was not hired for this job)...!
...the above largely went on behind the scenes over the years--looking through it, it is quite a lot and I know I have left out so much. The game has been busy since our launch into Pathfinder. Our coders, general staff, and DMs deserve a large thank you!! for making all of this happen, including a number of player volunteers! Thank you! Whiteout has done some amazing things since he came onboard, and Earthquake deserves all the credit for bringing us to Pathfinder in the first place!
And with that...keep a lookout for RP26! It is still a few weeks out, but please send our coders and staff a thank you!

Release Package 25!
We're pleased to announce the launch of Release Package 25! In it, you will find:
- Updated racial feats! Nearly all races received a few new options. In addition, the "National" feats are now called Fervor, to represent human dedication, zeal, and idealism. We just think it is a better name, so you may notice an update to your sheets. Also, some race feats have been clarified to be a little more useful (the Fervor feats are an example, as is Territorial Defender).
- More Aspect options! Many of you have asked for Aspect Tattoos, and so here they are! We've also adjusted Tinker-Touch to be a little more useful.
- New artificer discoveries! Hooray! Also, we've adjusted a few levels for discoveries, just to smooth things out. We think you'll be happy with the changes.
- New artificer page! Artificer discoveries got the rage powers treatment.
- Minor bug fixes and the like
- Companion skills! These are now in code. The next time you level, you'll be asked to fill them in, plus any from previous levels. See staff for details if you've questions.
As with all new content, expect there may be adjustments as time goes on. This is just the nature of the beast. Game on!

PrP Policy Update
Howdy!
Given local challenges in running PrPs, as well as us having added a lot of new options, SPELLS!, FEATS! and neat things lately, we are adjusting our encounter guidelines a bit. That is:
- Groups will be assumed to be APL+2 as "Average"
- (higher or lower numbers of PCs adjust this, ofc)
Previously, we had assumed APL+1. However, we have added a lot of options to the game since then, as well as learned more about Pathfinder! We believe this change is needed to keep things challenging. In the end, it is a pretty small change overall, and plot runners are generally free to pick whichever challenge is appropriate.
We've also worked to provide better guidelines for what might, or might not be, challenging for groups on Tenebrae. Where before things were kind of a sweeping statement, we've tried to be more nuanced:
- T1: Up to CR+3 (up to CR+4 if 5 or more)
- T2: Up to CR+4 (up to CR+5 if 5 or more)
- T3-4: Up to CR+5 (up to CR+6 if 5 or more)
Are these more helpful? Please let us know. We'll be testing things out as things run, and taking your feedback.
Also, the numbers above should not be considered the standard, but upper limits. As normal, creatures using tactics will always be stronger than those without, groups are better than singles, so always consider the party before selecting challenges. (The reason the upper tier numbers ramp up is that power can rachet up pretty quickly in the upper levels, and we hope this opens the floor to new challenges and fun.)
We will be taking feedback as with all new things, and may adjust along the way, so please keep in contact with staff and other PrP Runners. If you've questions or want to run ideas by us, please do. Also, don't hesitate to make use of the GM's Guild (page Hurricane about the next meeting!).
Finally, we are considering allowing Mythic rules for creatures at T2 plus. These could make running a "single boss monster" against groups more viable. What do YOU think? Should we test it? Would you be interested? Such tests would be nonlethal, ofc.

Heroic Fantasy, Tequila, and a FAQ
OH GOD. ALIGNMENT!
More seriously, we went ahead and tacked this onto the FAQ because it does come up from time to time, and here is kind of something folks can point to. It addresses the small picture, big picture, how much we dislike policing alignment, and also things like the general lack of gray morality in a heroic fantasy setting.
Because we're crazy, it touches on inquisitors and paladins, too.
Someone please pass the tequila!

GMs Guild...?
Hey there! Some of you have requested a 'Tenebrae GMs Guild' and we are working on that! What this means is that once a month, or every few weeks, we'll host an open gathering. Someone can propose a topic, but the rest of the time is up to you--whether you'd like to share resources, or bring up ideas. We'll be putting Hurricane on the spot to start with, but I am sure he'd love to hear voices other than his!
This 'Guild' is ofc open to everyone. What I'd like to do though, is make a logo for it. Any ideas?

Did You Know These GM Commands...?
Did you know about these great DMing, and other scene-related commands?
- +tdamage: Like +init, this handly little feature comes packed with options. Would you like to damage everyone because FIREBALL? Type: +tdamage all=<amount>! Use negative numbers to heal.
- +tnote: Want to track rounds of Haste? +tnote lets you set notes on characters such as, "Stinky" or "Haste." You can also set a duration.
- +init: More than just rolling initiative, the +init command takes modifiers, too. For example, you can +init+2 if you are a swashbuckler and have at least 1 panache available to you. (Situational bonuses like these are not coded in, but we try to make them as easy to use as possible!)
- +tmap/reach: Curious about a creature's, or your, reach? This can help! This command takes into account a creature's size. Default is medium. Note, it does not take into account reach weapons.
These are a few of the commands found in +timestops! Whenever a +timestop is present, just type +thelp for more things you can do.
But wait, there's more!
- +request/plots: Had a great adventure? Share your journals! This helps new players catch up to what's going on and is a great help. Personal journals may always be created and kept using +help journal, although this is more of a note-keeping system to help you keep track of recent stories, such as: Today we rescued the Prince Otyugh. He looked great in tightpants.
- +event/leg: Want to do some followup to a great adventure? This +events command creates a new LEGwork queue with all confirmed players.
I hope these are helpful, and awesome! For more possibly unknown commands and options, hit +bbread 1 and look for the "Did you know...?" titles. The last I checked, they were around entries 1/54 and 1/55.

Breaking Down +breakdown!
The question came up: why doesn't +breakdown work on +csheet? The answer for this lies in how +csheet values are encoded. To get it really, truly broken down would require recoding +csheet. In the meantime, +breakdown does work for your rollable +sheet values. Tinker with it and see what comes up!
Also, I am reminded that +timestop code now takes into account +polymorph. Three cheers for White, guys!

Goblin Prophesies End of Alexandri
From the crackpot file..
The local constabulary report having briefly detained a goblin and dark elf whom are prophesizing the end of Alexandria in three weeks. However, despite a claim that ley-portals will open into the city to permit a Fel Army into the market both the Alexandria Artificer's Guild and the Templars of the Holy Sword have clarified that after extensive divination on the topic there is no threat to the city.
And yet, sources reported just this morning that bands of adventurers had been dispatched into the Fel Wood to search for signs of Ley Portals within the forest.
Snarkie's Casino in Gobbertown has been offering 10,000:1 odds against the end of the city with Snarkie himself having said, "I invite anyone who believes this prophecy to come on down and enjoy their last weeks of exsistence! Bet on whether or not we'll survive and if we don't you could die a rich man!"

Cutscene: Undoing an Invasion
[Exterior - Alexandrian Market - Alexandria]
It's an hour before dawn.
"What if, there were no ley portals," Vomitdreg's hands work nervously together his pitched nasally voice a coarse whisper, "What if, there were no brain slugs. What if, we don't have to wear pink on Wednesdays.."
He stops suddenly and with an unsteady hand he opens his coat. A tiny pair of glowing orange eyes glare upward from their place within the large pocket that has been sewed into his garb, "Did it work, Zeroltheluz?"
No.
Vomitdreg's face twists with concern, "So, there are ley portals?!"
Maybe.
"What if, just this once, /you/ fix things?"
No.
The goblin closes his jacket in frustration. Tiny fingers reach into a component pouch hanging from his belt to produce a pinch of salt which he ingests. Knitting his hands back together to resume pacing, "What if, there were no ley portals.."

Rumble at the Ox
Tavern brawls are seldom noteworthy in a town like Alexandria, they happen ever night almost. Some taverns might actually have scheduled ones for specific nights. However the rumors coming out of the Ox have to be heard to be believed.
"There was a giant woman there! She sung dirgies on her drum and was covered from head to toe in /blood/. How do you even wear blood!? She flung a man though a wall with her spite alone!"
"Well I heard there was a mighty warrior wizard involved! He tore the chandelier off the ceiling with his bare hands and summoned bolts of lightning!"
"Well I heard there was a sinister Mul'niessa there! Must have been an assassin or somethin' cause he was askin' all about that wanted girl! Maybe he's the one that did her in and is lookin' to cover his tracks!"
"I heard tell there was a barmaid there was a right valkyrie there! Weildin' her tray like a tower shield to protect the beer!"
"Oh that lass is a proper hero she is."
"Proper hero, aye. She even refused a drink afterwards!"
(All rumors subject to massive exaggeration by many drunken patrons!)

More?!
'...it was /her/ all along!" declares on reader, her eyes narrowed.
Mereth didn't abandon Dandy, or Jyrana it turns out. There's a new, shadowy figure in play...at least according to the latest Crimson Pen fanfic. Yes, fanfic. This one however, proports to be written by an "insider to the tale!"
It hints at a new villian. A figure in a cottage, her skeletal hands about an apple... a real lich of a woman, as it turns out.
Mereth, the manly hero of the Crimson Pen's work, suffered a terrible fate--fans thought--at the hands of the trecherous Jyrana, who was jealous of his love for Dandy. Mereth's death caused an uproar in Alexandria amonngst fans of the Pen's work for weeks, over the loss of his beloved, hirsute figure and his flexible pecs.
...could it have been this...lich...all along? Could Mereth have sacrificed his heroic manliness in a last-minute defense of Dandy AND Jyrana? Perhaps...as the author suggests...to protect an unknown love child??!
The author promises more tales to come, of this nefarious wi--lich, this "Granny Mandiel!"
And who is this strange girl with wings on artwork associated with this story?! Who can say? The answers to these questions, and more, will be resolved soon enough... assuming the completed fictions contents don't continue to leak like this. Either way, anticipation is building!'
Wanted Poster
A conversation overheard from a group ofGossipmongers clustered around a poster recently hung up on one of the bulletin boards of the Hope Theatre, stamped with the official seal of the Metropolitan Theatre Company of Alexandria. Depicted upon the parchment is a portrait of a woman that theatre goers and several denizens of the city would find familiar: Rori Lee, one of the theatre company's understudies. The scroll indicates that the woman is presently missing and a modest reward is being offered for information of her whereabouts.
Gossipmonger 1: Tends to happen to the pretty ones, doesn't it? The poor lass.
Gossipmonger 2: Wonder if it's connected to the incident the other day at the Warehouse Ward...
Gossipmonger 3: Eh? What do you mean?
Gossipmonger 2: Heard that there was some trouble at one of the guardhouses, something about a fire that wasn't a fire, and someone paid to have a prisoner held so he could murder her, himself!
Gossipmonger 1: What?! How terrible!
Gossipmonger 2: It's insidious business alright, and apparently, one of the guardsmen was in on it. Cousin of the Goldstone Brothers, word is they've been blaming hits on their caravans on the Mul lately and turns out they had a Mul in custody.
Gossipmonger 3: But what's that got to do with the missing understudy?
Gossipmonger 2: That's the confusing part.
Gossipmonger 1: I heard the Goldstone Brothers are denying any involvement, though. Something about how their cousin had been trading with their name for years but he was never actually part of their operations?
Gossipmonger 3: Still, can't deny there's something fishy going on with all of that. I mean, now someone responsible for turning the guards' eye towards them is missing? There /is/ such a thing as too much coincidence, you know...
(OOC: I'll be in Cabo for a few days, returning Monday. Send me a @mail if you have questions! Shivani and I will put something together when I get back.)

Damn Nusiance
...damn nusiance," is overheard among merchants traveling from Khazad Duin.

Mereth Writes?!
Starting with those fanatical fans of the Crimson Pen's legendary tale of betrayal, romance and death, there are rumors of a new tale!
Mereth originally featured in the Crimson Pen's Trio of Romances series, involving the demure Dandy, the wicked Jyrana, and the marvelous Mareth!

More Plushies?
The "Blue Bloods" courier service has once again been comissioned to send out another wave of plushies.
People have also noticed that each Plushie is unique, slightly different then another. Each one has a tag with a number, and a letter next to it. Excitment has quickly risen as there might be a hidden message being sent with the plushies if one could gather all the letters and numbers.

Pumpkin Problems
As heard in the beauty salons of Upper Alexandria's Nobility District, in hushed whispers and nervous giggles:
Elmyra leans in, whispering conspiratorially to Beatrice, "Is it really as big as they say it is?"
Beatrice offers a sly grin in return, answering in the same conspiratorial whisper. "I saw it with my very own eyes! It was the biggest I've ever seen! You wouldn't believe it! I didn't even think something that size would fit!"
Several of the patrons feign looking shocked, averting their eyes -- so that they can hear better*
Elmyra pretends not to notice the eavesdroppers. "Do you think it was magic? It has to be magic. That can't be natural."
Beatrice just shrugs. "I have no idea. Maybe it's just a blessing from the gods?All I know is that everyone in town is supposed to be getting a piece of it."
One of the patrons starts fanning herself, color rushing to her cheeks. It's probably a good thing she's already sitting down.
Elmyra's eyes widen. "Oh myyyy. How do you think it tastes?"
Candice, the beautician, whispers harshly, "Elmyra! That's not a question that you ask in polite company!"
Elmyra looks confused, turning to look at Beatrice. "Since when are giant pumpkins inappropriate subjects of conversation?"
"Pumpkins?" The other women lean back in their seats, looking a little disappointed. "What are you talking about?"
Beatrice rolls her eyes at the other women, sighing deeply. What could have been so hard about loading a giant pumpkin into a cart?"
Elmyra shakes her head. "You just can't find good help these days," she drones, flipping through the latest edition of Prestigious Moon's catalog. "Didn't you ask them where it came from?"
"Well, I -tried-," Beatrice answers in kind. "One of them was kind of bringing up the rear. A tsuran, I think. He had the bluest eyes. Anyway, I walked up to him, and he pointed a -stick- at me! Said --" Her voice gets a few tones lower, and gruffer, "Lady, I swear by all the gods of the Holy Order I am -not- in the mood today."
"Did you report him to the guards!?!" asks Candice.
"Did you file a complaint with the Guild?" asks Elmyra.
"Do you think he's single?" asks one of the women in the back. All eyes turn to her, disapprovingly. "What?!"
After a moment of uncomfortable quiet, Beatrice continues. "Anyway. Apparently, one of them's trying to make a giant pie out of it, from what I hear. Supposedly, the whole town is getting some, though I doubt even a pumpkin that size could feed the whole town. You'd think it would have been easier to just buy small ones. I hear the fields are coming up in record time lately!"

"Oh yeah, Murda. Yeah, I seen him a'fore, why?"

"What was they cuttin 'em for?" this one leans in and lowers his voice conspiriatorily, "Was they makin furniture or somethin? They already got all them gold lookin lights and stuff in there and Orl tole me tha other day that someone seen Murda in there lickin 'em a while back. I tole Orl he's fulla -"
"NO you nummy! They was cuttin boards up fer signs! Now shuddup an listen!" Dook glowers and snorts, "Look like they 'us postin up a bounty or summat. Then this after lunch, Kazid came in from out on a hunt, said he seen vellums board-posted ever mile on the tree lines near the Fel, warnin about Demons."
Urg's eyes are as big as saucers, "I doan truck wit no demons Dook. Not no more. Ever since great uncle Trang got caught by one what turned him into a dead thing still servin the demon. Thas bad juju Dook, you go pixie snatchin on yer own until them demons're dealt with."
"But...how'm I gonna make pixie paste if'n ya doan come wi..."

Chief Engineer's Report: Airship R
Orally delivered to the Skyguild and recorded by the scribes:
Chief Engineer: "...yes, sir, that's correct. The ship was safely recovered, though not quite as intact as we'd hoped. It'd seen a bit more action than we thought, but we got the thing to fly alright. That wasn't the hard part. The weather was against us from the start. Wagons got stuck a few times, but we made it there. But that's when the monster showed itself."
Guildmaster: "So the damage was caused by a monster attack?"
Chief Engineer: "Eh... not exactly. And the goblins -- well -- we're not really sure what they were doing, but at least they didn't set the thing on fire again."
Guildmaster: "...so the hirelings caused the additional damage? And we -- paid these people?"
Chief Engineer: "Well, sir, we didn't lose any of the mechanics, so there's no death benefits to pay, no retraining time. All in all, I think we came out ahead."
Guildmaster: "I think I've heard enough. I'll sign off on the recovery bonuses. And let's keep this quiet for as long as we can. We have a reputation of competence, after all, even when hiring outside help..."
Chief Engineer: "Of course sir. Complete discretion."

Plushies for all the Children!
Courier have been busy all over town, delivering to all the children of the city cute little plushies. The plushies are of a Mul'niessa noble woman wearing bright pink dress and mini umbrella, one of Sandy, one of Svarshan, and various other well known figures around town. The courier service is not fully aware of the client, but the money is good and the plushies appear harmless.

Strange occurances
For the past few days, there have been strange gargoyle-like statues all over the city of Alexandria, mostly upon higher up structures such as the various temples, the castle and even the Adventurer's guildhouse.
The past night, however, a group of adventurers walked back into the city with a moss-like gargoyle bound up in a wagon. The statues of gargoyles disappeared while the moss-like gargoyle had been turned over to the Yggdrasil Union for study.
For more details on what happened, speak to Leisel, Hun'rar, Garak, Magnus, Kisaiya, Kira or Raethon.

So Called Training
That so called training mission? I heard it was a full fledged military operation. Someone is trying ta stir something up. Something about lost spies or some-such trying to map the north or steal something important to the fiends. Bad mojo all around you know. I tell you one thing, the people that came off some of those ships weren't injured in any training exercises thats for sure!
ALEXANDROS TAKES TO THE SKIES!
Once again the brave sons and daughters of Alexandros take to the skies to train for the protection of their families and loved ones.
So look to the skies citizens! Enlist today!

Missing Children?
"Did you hear about those missing children?" The voice whispered, not wanting it to travel too far - fear running around the edges of the words.
"Who hasn't? It's nearly an epidemic. Thank goodness they're not disappearing within Alexandria." A sigh of relief to punctuate this, and then a lean in, "But did you hear that they were all seen with a 'white puppy' before going missing?"
"No, I didn't hear that. Oh that's creepy."

A Subtle Tension
"...you're certain of it?" The two priests sat in a darkened room, papers laid in front of them.
"Yes. That business with the shrines is just another nail in the coffin. The alliances are shifting. I have my money on that business with Heth as the cause of it." A sigh, "I just thought we'd have more time."
"Are the marriages still going on?"
"Three, in the last month, and more before that."
Silence fills the time, a look exchanged between them.
"...great," the first one says, at length. He drops into a nearby chair, and rubs at his forehead. "We're hearing the usual propaganda from that corner, I take it?"
"Aye, about being misunderstood, Taara being the faith of personal empowerment and choice, freedom to choose. Maugrim being... Unfairly stereotyped and about self-esteem, honor, and respect. All of that. It isn't anything you don't hear out of Charn, normally. It's just effective--"
"--because on our side we have people who want things better. I get it," the priest says, closing his eyes. "I'll start talking with my own, help them identify that sort of doublespeak. Fighting for what's right, just, and good, doesn't mean we're stupid or ignorant of their rhetoric."
"If alliances are firming up again with the old guard, there'll be stronger grabs for power. More effective slave routes, more experiments. More pressure on our allies, maybe on Myrddion to get their sh--to get themselves together. It's too soon to tell the extent of what this means. But, we may see a stronger Charn before this is done."
"How many marriages have there been?"
The one priest looks to the other.
"I hoped that I was wrong. Yeah."
"Maybe we let them think good is stupid," the first muses. "Let their egos fill in the rest. ...let's keep this quiet, for a little while. Get the word out."
"Mm, the quiet approach. I get it."
The acolyte, overhearing, hurries away.
OOC: Rumors like these are growing among the faithful. Quietly, but there's a growing sense of wariness. The marriages referred to are between members of the Maugrimite and Taaran temples and faithful.

Daughter of Dragons
A particular avid reader of the Crimson Pen with great hair has recent been able to put together clues from the writing that Lady Sandiel (a woman who used to go by the name Sandrake'ial'unatha before coming to Alexandria) used to be engaged to a dragon!
Alley Makeover
Last night there was a strange commotion in the Lower Market, starting with a number of refugees and homeless being forceably evicted from the alley where they had taken shelter for the night. Under implied threat of violence, the unfortunate victims were escorted to a nearby inn, were they were provided with warm rooms and hot stew.
Shortly thereafter a large gang of ruffians and ner-do-wells descended upon the alleyway, with carts of likely stolen and illicit goods.
Morning light has seen the crime scene scrubbed clean of evidence of what exactly transpired.

Huh What?
There are a few whispers that there was things were happening at the Lower Trades Market. The problem is, the closer people get to the market district, the less people remember what happened.
One thing that CAN be confirmed, however, is that people heard gunshots and there are signs of a fight there.

The Frigate Revenant
A new frigate pulled into port a few days ago along with a brig that was running escort. Both ships looked to have seen some heavy fighting, and the frigate looks to taken the brunt of it. Soon after arrival carpenters were enlisted en masse to fix up both ships and make them seaworthy.
While this alone is worthy of a rumor, and the fact that forty some-odd men and women of different race were escorted off the Frigate, it's not just that which has piqued interest. Rumor has started to travel like wildfire that this was a Charnese Naval vessel - the Revenant.
Did Alexandria just attack a Charnese ship?
(OOC: This is in relation to the plot: Inmost Sea-capades. See Kore, Amythyst or Kaelyn for more information. Additional legwork can be made, I will respond to any/all as quickly as I can.)

Engagement at the Fernwood
Conquerer Ravifan announced his engagement to a young, though well-ranked Shadowveil, Aritha Korivani. "We're quite happy," the Conquerer said as the happy couple made the announcement at the Fernwood. "While we realize it's an unusual step to be open about our marriage, we do so in the hope it will help others understand us."
"Such openness is long overdue," Aritha Korivani added, noting that similar arrangements are happening across Ea.
How...wonderful!

Roadside Banditry on Paws!
Travelers along Alexandros' northern roads towards Blar will be pleased to experience greater safety in the days ahead. A group of bandits that have been harrying caravans have been dispatched by Alexandrian adventurers. One of the bandits was even brought back for for trial.
The small but growing community of Dragonier refugees and Arvek Nar also received a boon in the way of supplies, as the adventurers were able to both return supplies that had been taken, and also donated some of the surplus that was given to them for their work. What wasn't given to the Adventurers in payment was divvied up between the Community, the temple of Serriel, and a new charity called the Animal Care Kennel (or ACK! for short).

A Bitingly Good Time?
After a late-night drinking event gone wrong, two druids got into it and ended up summoning a tornado. Alexandria being on a peninsula out to the sea, this quickly picked up sea creatures and debris.
In other words, a sharknado hit Alexandros' shores late last night. The involved druids are understandably chagrined, and are spending hours in community service cleaning up the mess.

Forget Yuletide, It's Thultide!
Another crypt has been uncovered in Alexandria today that is sure to leave the denizens more than a little worried about what may be near their own homes.
Reports trickle in of other worship sites being uncovered, though the Tribune has been unable to verify these sources so far. Reports suggest some sites may be the hosts of ancient Thulian artifacts and arcane rituals. Others suggest that one may contain access to an ancient book of necromantic powers.
Several people witnessed adventurers going in and out of at least one site, which fortunately or unfortunately, may add credibility to the above reports.
OOC: This relates to the Crypts plotline. Please RP with Verna, Serraphine, Heinrich, Gregor, Josselyn, or Arisha to get involved!

Calzone Thieves!
Evidently the food at Stoneworks is quite amaising!

Stormgardian Disease Sprouts in Al
Readers of the 'Alexandrian Rummagepost' will be no doubt familiar with its recent spate of rumors, about a Miniature Yeti.
<What follows is a copy of the Rummagepost's image, which appears to be a well-done illustration of Kisaiya in a large fur coat.>
The 'Rummagepost' reports: Some people are trying to figure out exactly what it is this strange being might be. While some think it's just local Alexandrian, Kisaiya, having sprouted a bunch of extra hair for the winter through some arcane manipulations and esoteric hair spells, others say it's probably not a hair spell at all and indicitive of something much more sinister.
What the image represents not clear. The Rummagepost went on to report other possibilities, including the possibility of miniature yetidom.
While normally it is not the practice of the Tribune to report on other papers' work, this report potentially concerns Alexandrian public health, and we thought it prudent to weigh into the discussion. We presented the reports and illustration to two separate experts within Alexandria.
Dr. Pherbius Sand writes to us that this case is a warning sign.
"Yeterius Spontaneous is a disease that originates in the Stormgarde region," he writes us. "It comes on in the winter, and is usually associated with the lucht race. However, it has been known to strike other species."
When asked what Yeterius S. is, exactly, the reports we were given indicate that it appears to be the sudden and usually irreversible growth of hair all over one's body. In addition, the individual may develop a sudden, stooped-over position and be prone to grunts.
However, Alexandria has reported only one case of this disease so far, and we encourage citizens not to worry. However, if you do spot an individual with this condition, please report them immediately to the Soldier's Defense.

Assault on Mictlan
A Chaneth Noble mounted an assault on Mictlan in clear violation of Alexandrian territorial rights.
The attack on Mictlan was repelled by a number of adventurers and local tribesfolk.
Amongst those at Mictlan prior to the attack were Durrankar and Un'eth, two druids of well reknown who safely aided a number of wounded of Mictlan out of the area prior to the Assault. Without their influence the civilian casualties at Mictlan would've been far more substantial.
Tensions between Charn and Alexandria have risen again, though neither side is willing to take blame for any of the events leading up to this.
OOC: This is part of the Silver and Sith arc!
