Death Consent PRPs
About Death Consent PRPs | |
A Death Consent Player-Run Plot (DC PRP) is a staff-approved type of PRP that gives the player runner the ability to run challenging encounters with long-lasting consequences and permanent effects, such as ability score damage, level drain, and player character (PC) death, similar to how staffer events work (which are, by default, death consent events). If you want to run a DC PRP, you must apply by using +request/prp to present your DC PRP idea, the creatures you want to run (with templates and/or classes noted), and the intended level range the event is for. Once the idea is approved by staff, list the DC PRP as a +event (see +help events for more information) and confirm the players in attendance. A DC PRP must include that the PRP is DC in their event description. A PRP runner may ask a fellow player or a staff member to assist them as a DM; this player or staff member cannot be a participant in the PRP on one of their own player characters. The DM assistant receives a reward equal to the PRP runner’s. A DC PRP may take more than one session to resolve; each session (or part) may be submitted for rewards separately or submitted in batches of two sessions for rewards. (This is to prevent long-running arcs that go without rewards for players or runners.) A DC PRP runner may not include their own player character as a player participant in the PRP or receive awards as a player in addition to runner awards, but can include their player character in a role similar to a quest-giver NPC, the victim of a crime (such as a kidnapping), and more. |
Awards |
DC PRPs, considering their enhanced risk for player characters and the challenge involved in running them, receive higher rewards for player and runners compared to a standard PRP. The reward for running a PRP and the reward for playing in a PRP are scaled to the individual level of a participant. Runners receive one level above their own in rewards if their DC PRP is an event listed as Open on the +events board and is posted at least a day before the time of the event. Closed DC PRPs give the PRP runner a reward equal to their level.

A PRP runner may use their PRP submission to indicate that they do not want to run for a character/player again. See Game Policies for more information. |
4. Ensure your PRP is posted to the +events board and the players are all confirmed on the event description. |
Even if this is after the fact due to running a PRP off the cuff. Just make sure to mark your event as open or closed! |
