  • Summary: An Inquisitor walks into the Fernwood. Cryosanthia is talking with the Fernwood's half-sil server Kaeryn, trying to explain magic and being a sorceress to her when another sorceress, Pasithea enters. Thurid arrives, and both join Cryo, Lily and Kaeryn. They talk about Lily's devices and what her adolescence will be like. Thurid gets a huge breakfast while Cryo explains about the Iron Book. They both share experiences with Demons, as well as Pasithea's brief existence as a sheep. Cryo laments that most of her battles have not been conversational as she was led to believe they would be by the Crimson Pen. She has to leave, and Thurid questions Pasithea regarding her experiences. The sleepy Lucht reveals that her dream world and the real one overlap so it isn't surprising for her to shift between them. Her dream plane also has persistence and a causality. She explains there is a Magpie and a Robin discussion the correct sauces to use for cooking chicken.

The common room of the Fernwood Pub dominates the inn, spacious and airy because of the high, vaulted ceiling. Ornately carved beams of dark, polished wood form a lattice overhead, supporting the arched roof two storeys above the floor. To the right of the double-door entry is a spiral staircase, winding upwards to a balcony that rings and overlooks the main area. Large windows at this level grant an excellent view of the river to the west and colorful market stalls to the north and east. An air of coziness is salvaged by keeping the pub dimly lit; parchment-shrouded mana lanterns hang at intervals from the base of the balcony, nestled amongst lush, magically propagated ivy and ferns that grow over this false demi-ceiling and the struts that support it.

The bar is sleek and simple, comprised of meticulously polished black lacquer. Tables are set under the darker niches formed by the balcony floor as well as on the balcony itself. A few are deliberately sized to accommodate halflings and gnomes, but the majority are meant for human-sized individuals. A large common table is on the main floor, set before a semi-circular stage situated against the western wall. Beside it, with pipes mounted upon the wall and running up past the balcony and almost to the ceiling, is a refurbished pipe organ made to look like the one lost when the Fernwood was destroyed during the Merkabah Siege.

Linwen enter the pub, stomping her booted feet on the floor to knock off the snow. Her cloak gets a shake out to knock off the flurry of snow the wind outside has kicked up then she proceeds into the pub proper and heads up to the bar. "Something warm please. Food or drink. I don't care which. Or both."

The bartender nods, replying in a gruff voice, "The coffee is on, there's tea also, and eggs and pancakes are on for breakfast." He puts an order through the window to the kitchen.

Out in the rest of the Fernwood, the patrons are light, mostly single individuals stopping on the way to work. Over by the fire a white-scaled sith'makar woman sits with a pink-scaled youngling and feeds her eggs. Some toys seems scattered about on the table, and a half-sil woman sits with them, conversing about something.

Linwen nods. "Coffee would be good and the eggs and pancakes for sure. Thank you," she smiles at the bartender then looks around the place, spotting all who care to be out in the open. The sight of the Sith'Makar and child puts another smile on her face. She waits patiently for the warming items to come so the chill inside can be removed.

The coffee arrives first, a large steaming mug with a small milk jug and a dish full of sugar cubes. The bartender slides it over. "The rest will be soon."

Another spoonful of eggs goes into the little one, and then the white sith has both hands free for a moment, and holds them up towards the half-sil. "The magic comes from inside. It's hard to describe how, but you feel it and pull it up. One of the simplest spells is Arcane Mark. It's putting that essence of yourself on something."

Another gesture and there's a strange flickering of light along her scales and she traces a mark on the table.

The half-sil watches, "They still leave tips on those for you, you know. So I should come up with something using my name?"

"No, no. Something you feel really represents you. It's going to be the same, always."

Linwen gladly takes the coffee and loads it up with sugar and a little milk and mixes it up good then takes a few swallows even if its too hot. She's chill to the bone and needs some heat!

The door from outside opens and a Lucht sized figure bundled up in layers pauses in the doorway, leetting more cold air in. Pausing due to a brief moment of sleeping while standing.

Pasithea wakes up enough to shuffle inside and shuts the door. A yawn escapes her and she takes a few more steps only to stop and lean on her spear, falling asleep once again.

"So I just... pull?" The half-sil asks.

"I'm sorry I can't explain better. It's like feeling a breath. Sense the magic in you, then pull it out. It's usually spontaenous, when you're angry or very energized, things might happen around you." The whitescale explains.

"Kaeryn, orders up?" The bartender calls.

"Oops, back soon." Kaeryn is on her feet, into the kitchen and out with a tray of eggs and pancakes that she sets down in front of Linwen. She smiles and bounces on her toes, "Here you go, anything you'd like?"

The bartender glances Pasithea's way, "Find her a nice seat Kae."

Linwen takes a smell of the food and almost drools. "Yes, make the heat of the sun return to the land?"

"Ha-ha. That's not up to me. You'll have to make do with Chef's sunny-side up eggs." The Bartender laughs.

Kaeryn, the server, slips around to lightly place her hands on Pasithea's shoulders, "Sweetie, do you want a comfy chair? Come this way." She guides her.

The whitescale meanwhile, is back to spooning eggs and hissing, "Open. There, that's all of it.." <draconic>

Thurid makes her way into the Fernwood, dressed today in that same two piece leather outfit that seems entirely insufficient for the weather, not that it seems to bother the Jotunborn. She pauses near the entrance, and then offers a wave over towards a face she recognizes, before almost tripping over a Lucht-sized bundle of clothing, which she peers down at curiously.

Pasithea is at first guided and then almost run into. The sleepy one weaving like a drunkard but still expertly steping aside before Thurid can step on her. There is a small smile and a small wave from the small person as she's guided to a seat. "Hello... Thurid." Linwen notes Thurid almost squishing the little halfing. She just offers a nod and stuffs her face with eggs, bacon and pancakes with hot coffee to wash it all down. "Better..." she sighs as she heats up from the inside.

"Hello Thurid, Peace on your Nest." The whitescale raises her hand in a wave, then starts in on her breakfast now that her youngling is full.

The pink youngling makes a similar wave of a tiny hand in the Jotun's direction, "Peassss", then returns to fiddling with one of her toys.

The whitescale meanwhile, watches the new halfling as she eats.

"Hello, Pasithea." Thurid offers with a smile, before returning Cryo's geeting as well, "And peace on yours, as well." she offers cheerfully. "Sorry for rushing away yesterday. One of the gladiators slipped on the ice and- well, I won't get into it while you're eating." she offers cheerfully. "Suffice to say, he'll have to forfeit his next couple of matches." she finishes. "Mind if I join you?" she wonders as she draws nearer the table.

Pasi is shown to a table near the fire where she takes a seat, with some help, and then unraps a layer. All of this is down slowly as she continues to fight off sleep. She blinks slowly and spies, finally, the young one of Cryo's and waves at the other small person. "Tea.. please."She asks to Kae.

"Join, join!" The whitescale beckons, "mind Lily's traps. I think she's set up a perimeter. This way, along this way should be safe."

The sith'mom moves one of the small contraptions on the table and points it at the wall. The pink youngling watches with an intent, evil grin, and peeps in a squeaky voice, "Faransss?"

"No, I don't think Pasithea, was it? Is related to Sssaa Faranmidahn. Unless, are you?" She gestures at herself, peering at her, "This one is Cryosanthia. Cryo in emergencies."

"Ssassa." Lily says, a small wave returning a small wave.

"Yes, and Ssassa, clutch-mother to Lily, this is Lily. Peace on your nest."

Kaeryn nods at the order, signals the bar and saunters over.

Linwen is savoring every bite of yummyumms.

Thurid settles into a seat identified as safe, and while Kae is receiing orders, puts her own in- sausages and bacon and scrambled and black pudding and fried tomatos and mushrooms and bread and butter. Then she turns back towards Cryo after her giant sized order. "She's good with these little gadgets." she observes of the various trinkets and traps around. "I've not much of a head for that stuff, myself. Tend to avoid airships, even, most of the time." she admits.

Pasithea nods slowly. "I know knight...Faranmidan. I remember you... and her." She says pointing to Lily. "From the evening.. of the fire. I looked over.. the small one in your... backpack. You were fighting the.. fire and also saving.. people."

"I'm sorry! Yes! Yes, I remember now. This one apologizes. Please forgive." Cryo sits straighter and her anxiety increases, a Speaker's memory shouldn't fail like that. She dips her head towards Pasithea, "Thank you, so much, for helping, watching Lily. I was afraid she'd follow me in, and.. there was a lot in there. Smoke, black, and fire. We got them out."

Lily meanwhile, slowly turns one of the devices on the tray in front of her towards Thurid.

Cryo continues, "She is. She's got a knack. This one thinks she'll learn gobber before tradespeak, and possibly before I do. She loves Goblintown."

Kaeryn bobs her head and heads for the kitchen.

Pasi exhales and smiles a tad more. "Do not.. worry about it. It was... a hectic night." She then glances about at those in the pub before closing her eyes and instantly falling asleep. Her breathing softly and even.

Linwen finishes up her breatkfast warming meal and pays up. "Thank you for the warmth. Time to get to work!" she says standing and tightening up her cloak in prepartion for the chill beyond the front door. With a huff she heads for the door and out into the cold for duty.

Thurid laughs again, though there's a hint of nerves to it at the idea of a Kobold hellion with gobber technology at their disposal. "I expect her adolescence will be an interesting time for you." she finally settles on. Her own order might take a while, so she settles in to wait for it. "I had to climb up onto the balloon of an airship, mid flight, recently." Thurid says then. "I did not relish the experience. I think I prefer walking, after all."

"A work crew come in?" A voice from the kitchen is heard.

"No, a Jotun." The half-sil replies.

"Ah. Of course."

Lily's contraption is made with flat metal plates and strips, with rounded edges and many holes in them. Tiny nuts and screws that are easily lost or swallowed hold it together. It's somewhat pyramid shaped with a lever arm and a tiny bucket and resembles a tiny trebuchet.

ker-clank >>thwppp<<

It is a tiny trebuchet. A corner of toast is launched towards Thurid. This escapes Cryo's notice. "An airship? I've ridden on a few, never on top. That sounds unnerving. Did you have a safety line, emergency feather fall? You weren't crew, were you? Why would they send passengers up top? It sounds like a story."

Pasithea's sleepy forgiveness, is much appreciated by the sith. She lets her sleep. With everything going on, she has little attention beyond her table and overlooks the comings and goings of others.

Thurid watches with intrest as the device is demonstrated, so the corner of toast bounces off the end of her nose once it is launched, causing her to start in surprise. And then laugh- a booming sound, even in the busy Fernwood. "You'll be knocking down castle walls in no time." she tells the little Kobold, before turning her attention back to Cryo. "Ah, they were short handed. Bit of an unusual journey, but I'm unsure how much I should really speak of it, for now. But yes, it was interesting, to say the least." Thurid tells her. "And no, nothing but my strong hands and love of life to keep me from falling to my doom." she adds.

Cryo watches the giant assault as well. She laughs and rubs the back of Lily's neck, "She will, she will. Her adolescence will be amazing. This one is looking forward to it."

She keeps up the patting and faces Thurid again, "That sounds very dangerous. I was worried about falling in general so I got boots of levitation. Of course, first thing Lily borrows them and floats up into the sky so high she's too terrified to come down. I nearly used them against the scorpions I was telling you about, they were on a bridge. Mostly it's a good backup. I've been tempted to get spider climb added so I can walk all over the place."

The whitescale still has some food and takes another spoonful of eggs. "I do read the Explorer's Guild reports, if you ever send in one with the full story let me know. I'd love to look it over."

Kaeryn pops out of the kitchen with a huge platter of just about everything on the menu, sausages on top. She sashays over, sliding it in front of Thurid. "Here you go."

Thurid grins broadly as her breakfast comes towards her, and she picks up a knife and spoon ready to get to work on it, lifting them out of the way as the platter is set before her. She spears a sausage right off the bat, chomping it down in two bites and chews on it for a moment before answering. "Aye, well, once things have settled down I just might do that." she says to Cryo. "So, what is it you were asking, yesterday? About the Iron Book?" she wonders, spooning up some scrambled egg next to much on while she waits for the answer.

Cryo rubs at the right finger of her right hand. There's no ring there, but an indent in the scales suggests one was for a very long time. "If you knew about it. This one... has connections to it. Thought about joining once."

She sits back with a wane smile, "Before I joined something else entirely. They fight demons, study demon injuries, safeguard things tainted by demons. Sunblade Svarshan is connected. This one can make introductions if you wished to make fighting demons a habit."

Kaeryn stands watching the table with her tray held flat against her front. She looks at Pasithea, "Should I get her some tea, something in case she wakes up... or... you'll share?"

Lily slowly turns her trebuchet towards Kaeryn, pushes the bucket down with a click.

Pasi starts awake, "No.. don't throw.." She blinks and looks about. Then waves again at Kaeryn before yawning. "Could I get some tea please?" As if she'd never asked in the first place. Or perhaps she thought that was dream before.

Thurid nods her head slowly at the explanation, "It's a noble endeavor, to be sure." she says on the topic of demon hunting. "But I'm not sure it's for me." she admits a moment later, "Of course, ending demons rightly is any upright Warrior's calling. But I've other commitments, as well. And they're rather too... clandestine, for my taste." she adds with a shrug of her mighty shoulders. "I prefer to do my work in the light of day." she adds. She spoons up some greasy fried mushrooms and pops them into her mouth to munch away on.

"Some tea, coming right up." Kaeryn is quick to head off and return with it, sliding a regular sized mug and teapot in front of the Lucht.

ker-lunk >>fwhppp<<

A piece of toast is launched her way and bounces off a cheek. Kaeryn bounces around to embrace the kobold in a tight hug, rubbing cheek to scaled cheek, "Oh Lily I'm not your enemy. I bring you food! Peace, yes?"

"Peasss. Yessss."

"Don't throw?" Cryo asks, looking at Pasithea and trying to bring her into the conversation even if she's missing context for that. "Did you mean her? It's ok, they're harmless. They make her feel safe." She pats Lily on the neck again, her attention returning to Thurid. "Well it doesn't get much more light than in front of one of Daeus' Sunblades, but I get what you mean. A friend was very interested, so we looked into it. I'm running into more than I want to. I rather thought I'd encounter more talking enemies, like in all the stories."

Pasithea picks up her mug and then eases off the chair she's on. The shuffles over to Cryo Thurid and Lily. A few times looking like she might just drop her mug. She blows on the surface of the tea and peers tiredly at Lily's toy shooter. "Clever."

Thurid nods her head, "True, I suppose. But there's a lot of- you know. Sneaking around, talking, rooting out cultists, that sort of thing, too right?" she says to Cryo. "I'm no good at any of that. Stand out too much. Any cultist sees me, it's fight or flight a mile out." she adds with a small grin. She sets to work on her bacon, then, glancing to Pasi as she arrives and shuffling along a bit to make room for the Lucht. Couple of rashers folded up, skewered, and popped into her mouth. She munches away.

Lily slithers out of the tall chair and climbs down it head first the way only a small lizard can. She's under the table and up on Pasithea's lap in an eyeblink, sitting there as if she was invited. She twists her head around and looks up at the Lucht. The smalls have to stick together.

"Lily..." Cryo hisses, looking next at Pasithea, "I'll take her back if she's bothering you. She's accustomed to Faran."

"I... guess? The few cultists I've run into ran away, or performed rituals at me. They didn't banter. We didn't find them by investigating. Mostly they run up and attack, or run away and attack. Or it's beasts, elementals, or undead." The whitescale explains, "The demon and the vampire talked, but it wasn't exchanging quips while fighting up and down stairs or swinging from the chandliers. Not the things I practice. Rhymes. Demoralizing one liners."

Pasithea finds herself with a new seat and a new lapwarmer. She smiles and sets her cup on the table and wraps an arm about Lily. "She is ..ok... Cryosanthia. As long as it's ok...if I sleep.. on her from time to time." ANd case in point she drifts off, hear head tipping down to rest against Lily's. She jerks awake and then chuckles. "Darkness wants to hide in darkness.. we shine lights."

Thurid thinks for a moment more, and eventually nods her head, "I'll think about it." she settles on. And then chuckles, "That demon we killed spoke a bit, didn't it?" she wonders, glancing as Pasithea. "Although, I suppose you probably don't remember much about it, do you? You were a sheep." she recalls.

"I see by the cut of your jib you're a bit of a squid. Allow me to strike through your guard you bundle of treacle and lard." Cryo is off in her own fantasy world, making light fencing motions off the side, invoking things she's been saving up and hoping to get into the Crimson Pen. Thurid's question to Pasithea brings her back.

"A sheep? An actual sheep? With wool?" The sith'makar stares. She is not sure she's phrasing the question exactly right, "It's another sort of mammal, isn't it? And Luchts have a lot of hair, was it that different?"

There is actually no right way to ask those things.

Lily meanwhile, lap warms, and helpfully blows on Pasithea's tea. She also wriggles a lot until she gets her tail settled just right.

The wiggling keeps Pasithea awake enough to hear the question clearly. She shudders in response. "I remember he spoke... to me as a sheep. I do not remember the words.. I wanted to do as he said. To bite people.. to eat the flesh as well as grass." She actually looks ill for a moment before reahing for her tea again. "Thank you.. Lilly."

Thurid nods her head, "I didn't understand him, it was all- you know. That demonic language." she recalls then. She seems rather less perturbed by it than the Lucht, though she wasn't a sheep. She didn't nibble Tenocs knees. She looks back towards Cryo, and nods her head, "Yes, exactly that. She was quite adorable, I think. She was only little. Even as a sheep." she recalls. She stuffs some more of her breakfast into her mouth, muching away at ait. "I think those sorts of fights only happen in story books. In my experience it's mostly variations of 'Argh, I'll kill you!' and such." she adds, mouth still half full.

The little kobold watches the Lucht speak, then turns so she can flatten herself against her and hugs her tight. She doesn't understand the words, but there's a tone. One she recognizes.

Cryo for her part, listens intently, nods slowly. "You are not guilty for what you do while compelled. Demons, Vampires, will twist your mind, you can resist only so much. I'm sorry you had to go through that." She considers reaching out, to brush hair, something that calms Faran. It might be too familiar. She lets her daughter do the physical comforting.

A head bob towards Thurid, with a slight widening of her eyes at how much of the morning platter has disappeared. "The stories were all the people had to go on, about the 'souls' of softskins. This one has run into a lot more of the 'Arrg, kill you' fights. It's true. They're disappointingly inelegant."

Linwen slips out the door.

"Imps and undead...are the same. No words just.. attack and try to harm." Pasithea says before taking a careful sip of tea. Then sets the cup back down. "I have not... seen an elegant fight. Closest I have seen to that.. is the knights facing off against.. a pack of gnolls and hyenas."

Thurid nods her head, "Aye, well, the stories usually leave out the nitty gritty." she says then, and she finally finishes her mountain of breakfast with a few more big bites, mopping up the remaining greese and juices from the tomato sauce with her bread and eating that too. She slides the platter away and leans back in her seat, resting her hands on her stomach and letting out a satisfied sigh. "That's better. Ended up skipping dinner last night." she says. "'sides, fighting is chaos. You're as like to slip on yer arse as land a telling blow, once your down in the muck and the blood."

"This one is trying to think of one." Cryo stares at her arcane mark on the table, her hands holding the edge of it. Her most triumphant battles were... raw, brutal, bloody. Everything a white dra... her head snaps up as she sees small rings of frost forming around her fingertips. She brushes the thoughts away, smiles a wide grin with a dip of her nose to keep her teeth hidden and tells Pasithea, "Knights and Gnolls! It sounds like a youngling game. If it was even close to elegant then you have been lucky."

The little pink kobold looks over at Cryo, she's only got so much comfort to go around! She knocks a fork off the table with her tail. It lands on one of her boxes she somehow spread around the table. SNAP! Distraction! Hopefully it will work.

"Oh Lily, don't knock things to the floor." Success! Cryo leans over to pick up the cutlery and the device and both are safely returned. Thurid's observations get a grim, closed mouth. "Yes... I do that surprisingly often..."

The Lucht is kept awake by Lily though the dreams try hard to take her away to the other side. "Lucky the knights.. were skilled enough to .. keep me safe. They made it look easy." She yawns. "I find combat to be.. a scary thing."

Thurid grins at the Kobold's antics, and then she casts a glance aside at Pasi, "Aye, well, so long as you have tall folk to hide behind." she says and offers her a grin as well. She looks back to Cryo, "Done it myself, more than once. Nothing to be ashamed of." she says with a grin. "Every fight is unique, every swing and every blow one of a kind. Just need to roll with the punches and follow through with the swings." she asserts.

"It is." Cryo says, "I throw myself into it, to save my friends. I don't hold back. I'm glad you have good protectors Pasithea. I try not to get hit myself. I fold up fairly easy. That demon I told you about, with the burning blood, he opened me up from here to here." She points out a line from hip across her front to ribs.

"I hate to go, but I have a few errands in the city and want to make Mictlan while it's still light." The whitescale slips off her bench, her meal also finishing the same time as the Jotun's. She crouches and collects all her youngling's traps. Some go off in her hands, most she's figured out the trick for them. They end up in the Haversack and she looks around for other lost items. Finally a magnet, to get tiny nuts and bolts that might have come loose. The clean-up complete, she arranges the saddle inside it, then slips the haversack across her shoulders.

"What do you think Lily, what should I wear today?" Cryo holds out her arms.

"Fire!" The carnation-scale peeps.

For a brief moment, it looks almost as if she is. A dress forms of some transparent fabric, sheer and black, with vigorously looking cloth flames embroidered at the hem, reaching up towards her waist. They flicker and change position, as if she's burning in slow motion, the switching pattern animating the dress.

It switches next to something more feathery in white and pale blues. A dress that flares around the chest, is tight at her waist, then spreads again for her legs and tail. "It's not really my style. Here, let's put on your parka."

She advances on Lily with the coat, and the kobold squirms and wiggles and almost escapes Pasithea's lap several times but never actually does until she's collected and dressed, be-mittened and re-booted, then seated on the saddle at Cryo's shoulders where she can look down and wave regally.

Pasi wakes up as the kobold escapes her lap and leaves a chill spot where warmth once was. "Leaving? Be safe.. and ....stay warm." She watches the transformation between slow blinks and gets a smille smile. Then offers a wave to them as they leave. "Roll with punches..."

The whitescale makes one last final clothing change, a large hood she can pull up for herself and her youngling. It makes for a lumpy sort of silhouette but works. She waves, "Thank you for the company. We hope to see you soon. Peace on your nests."

"Peassss." Lily echoes, continuing her wave as Cryo threads between the tables.

"See you later Kaeryn, all" Another farewell and she slips out the door, tail curling around it as it closes.

Thurid peers over at Pasi, and tilts her head a bit, "Although, mayhap you'd be better ducking them, than rolling with them." she suggests to the sorceress. "I've been wondering." she adds, after a moment, "What's it like, being half in dreamland all the time?" she enquires.

There is a slow blink as Pasithea is caught off guard by the question. "No one has.. ever asked before."She takes a moment to think over an answer and of course falls briefly asleep. "There is another.. world while dreaming. It can seem as real...as this one or wild and strange. I spend time one both ...sides and each side keeps... moving forward. The dream...world stutters from time to ...time."

Thurid ponders that, leaning back into her chair which gives an ominous creak under the large woman's weight as she does. She looks back down to Pasithea, "Dream World, huh. Is it the same place others go to when they dream?" she wonders then. "Can you wander into people's dreams? Deliberately, or by accident?" she adds a moment later.

"I can not... creep into dreams. There...is magic that allows.. influence on dreams. And ..of course to put people to sleep. The world of dreams... is both the same and..different. They interact and can.. be the same. But aren't always the same." She falls brefly asleep and then yawns awake. "Bubbles that float... through other bubbles and inside larger...bubbles."

Thurid runs her fingers under her hair and rubs the back of her neck a bit, "Mmm, Sounds rather complicated. But I suppose that's the arcane for you." she admits. "Thanks for answering!" she says then. "And I didn't mean to imply you were peeping like some sort of voyeur. Althouh, i guess, depending on the dream..." she trails off in absent thought for a moment, before shaking her head. "That aside, though. It must be a bit inconvenient to fall asleep all the time. Don't you fall off things and into things and such? Like in the baths?" she recalls, the first time they met.

The lucht shakes her head. "When I was... younger ... I would hurt myself. But the dream world and real world...overlap? The dream is often.. the same as the world.. but then more different farther...away from where I am." She sleeps a moment and returns. "By the door.. there are two birds...arguing about cooking...for example."

Thurid nods her head with intrest, and then she looks towards the door where the birds are arguing- not that she can see them- and she cracks a broad grin. "Oh? Which one's winning?" she wonders, "And what are they cooking?" she adds, a moment later.

She falls asleep again. "I'm not sure ...that one is winning. They ...are both arguing about specific...sauces used..." She pauses and falls asleep for longer then normal. When she comes back she sighs. "About sauce used to keep chicken tender and tasty."

"Birds talking about cooking chicken?" Thurid asks then, and tilts her head. "Isn't that a bit dark?" she wonders idly. A pause, "Although, I suppose, I didn't ask what sort of birds they are. They could be eagles." she admits, nodding to herself.

"A magpie and... a robin. There is a ...crow listening in." She yawns once more and takes this waking time to sip from her cup. "And people are...entering and leaving by... the front door. Each... time the birds excuse themselves... and move to let people in... and out."

Dramatis Personae

Linwen

Before you is what appears to be an elvish woman at first glance though she seems to be taller and more muscular than your average elf female. Her face is considered beautiful by both elvish and human standards, with slightly almond shaped piercing blue eyes that have a gentle sadness to them. Her nose is straight with the hint of an upturned tip with full lips that are proportioned perfectly with her eyes and nose. Her face is more rounded like a humanther than the sharp lines of an elf. Her skin is lightly tanned hinting at someone who may spend a lot of time outdoors. Her hair is a wavy long cascade of fire toned locks that she keeps parted on the right side. She tends to drape the hair on the left side over the front of her chest while the right side is left to fall to midback on the right. Pointed ears devoid of any jewelry peak up out of the fiery hair.

Her frame looks to be about five foot, eight inches. When not wrapped in her metal skin, her body is noticeably muscular with strong biceps and thighs and a six pack to envy. Shet overly bulky, just corded and powerful looking while maintaining feminine curves. Any bared skin is the same lightly tanned color as her face suggesting this is a genetic trait rather than a suntan. If she is not wearing sleeves you can make out a tattoo on her left deltoid which is in the shape of a blue crescent moon with a smaller silver sphere within it.

Right now she is in full gear and ready for duty. She wears banded mail of blackened iron with gold highlights around the edges of each strip of metal that is fastened to the chainmail undershirt. Each strip of protective metal has decorative curved lines and elvish writing embossed into them. Shoulder pauldrons with three-inch neck guards protect her shoulders and neck. Each of the neck guards has more elvish writing embossed into them in a curved fashion that matches the curve of the guard itself. Her vambraces, gauntlets and greaves all match the same design pattern and coloring. On her cuirass where her sternum would be is an embossed emblem of a crescent moon with a silver sphere within it and lines that radiate out from it that crisscross up and down the front and back of the entire chest piece.

She is armed with a curved elvish longsword that is sheathed on her left hip. On her right hip dangles a Starknife of Eluna and on her right shin is a boot dagger strapped to her leg. When in a fight a round heavy metal shield is on her left arm and when at rest it is strapped to her back. If travelling away from the city she also carries an elvish designed longbow with her.

(( OOC NOTE: For those who can read elvish the writings are simple words that mean; Strength, Honor, Courage, Loyalty, Duty, Love and Compassion. The neck guard writing is a phrase in elvish that reads; ll Suffer no evil in the presence of all Eluna holds dear

<OOC> Cryosanthia says, "I kind of imagine grown-up Lily as an artificer in giant titan armour, "Oh mom used to drag me everywhere always talking to people. Sometimes she said they were nice and could give me things, other times that they were bad people and don't take anything from them or go out of sight. It all seemed very important but I never knew what was going on and wanted only to make my contraptions."
