Raiders of the Lost Tomb Part 3
<OOC> Slixvah says, "I'll just get my turn going now. going to yell out a summary: bone golems immune to magic but healing slows them, need adamaintine smashing to get past DR, be wary of bone prison ability. Slixvah grimaces as the marble statue lays into Aelwyn. "Stay strong, Flutter!" she calls out before looking back at the two golems. She grinds her beak... "Frick- the bone golems are immune ta magic! Healin' makes 'em slo though! Adamantine clubs should smash em up! And-And, they's can trap ya in a bone jail!"
Her head whips back and froth at the position they're in. Surrounded! Grinding her beak, she decides finally- "Okay dearies, listen up! We HAVE ta focus shiny one! The bones is slow, shouldn't be hard to hold 'em back! But that shiny statue is gonna screw us over!"
A wavy dagger flashes out of a sheathe, and Slix slices through the air. A hand snaps forward, pulling out cut ethereal strings, and yanking them with fervor. "And would you quit your RATTLING!" she barks at the golem looming over Aimarra. It's going to have a bad few moments. The witch breaks formation to slide into cover past Aelwyn to shield herself from the main statue.

The bone golem facing off with Aimarra is sluggish, but its blows are not to be trifled with. As its fist plunges down towards Aimarra, the tweak Slixvah performs to the strands of fate shift things a bit. Just a bit. And instead of striking the ranger, the fist slams into the floor with the crunch of stone cracking.

Carver scampers, abandoning Irshya even as she is blinking the stars out of her eyes. "Sorry!"
Least she feels guilty about her cowardice, dust kicked up from the patter of soft-soled boots, sliding into position with the pillar blocking her line of sight to the Old King and his even Older Orb.
Her shot, again, just sparks off the golem's hardened hide. "It's like shooting a wall!"

"Just leave this one to this one!" Aelwyn calls out back to Slixvah, growling as he attempts to dodge attacks. Dashing, he weaves himself underneath one of those fists aimed at him - and with a half-of a cartwheel, he swings the blade across the underside of that arm, detaching a chunk of the stone. The blade follows through, cleaving into the statue's abdomen as the ruddy sith-makar slows down his spin.
The Dragoon spits blood to the ground, inhaling in a deep breath as he eyes a murderous gaze and bloody grin towards his opponent. More chips have appeared along his weapon's edge. "Now, it is considered rude to bite into one's weapons." He rumbles, tail swaying behind him. "Guess this one just has to murder one."

The second lumbering guardian suddenly reaches down to pull a couple of ribs free from its flank, and flings them at Irshya. The bones grow and duplicate, wrapping around her to form a flexing cage that holds her in place.

The sounds of battle behind Aimarra galvanize her into quicker action, but speed is her enemy here, and panic is starting to set i. She flails at the thing, to no avail. "I don't think the spells are working!" she shouts, flailing one more time for good measure.

"I know!" Fidget responds to Aimarra, whether or not the comment had been directed at her. "But I'm a wizard, I'm not exactly resplendent with not-magic options here." She follows that up by belching another stream of acid at the Orb, which once again splits just before impact and sprays harmlessly around. Well, harmless to the Orb. Less so to the irreplacable historical architecture.

The Goblin squeaks as the bone golem catches up to her, and traps her inside it's ribcage.
"You filthy thing, unhand me!" Another crackle of static electricity is heard, with Irshya making a few jabs at the bones encircling her. "Help help, this thing had eaten me!"
She begins to drag her trident across the bones, making a metallic clanging sound. "I am going to have some harsh words for our employer when we get back!"

The towering stone guardian is battered, charred, and cracked from Aelwyn's strikes. Staggering from the damage, it rears back, and launches one final flurry at Aelwyn in response... fists slamming into the makari, but failing to stun the stalwart fighter as blood spatters on the floor.

Slixvah grimaces as she sees Irshya flail against the cage, Aimarra saying magic isn't being as effective, and Aelwyn- "Aelwyn!" Slix shouts, zipping out of cover and taking flight into the air. She holds her dagger up on high, the tip crackling with lightning. "DANA! IMSET EMTH!"
She makes a sharp motion of throwing the dagger, and a streak of lighting booms down, slamming into the stone guardian. It connects for a moment, until the witch snarls and shoves her other hand forward. The energy pushes past the polished surface, finding the cracks in the guardian before it explodes in tiny pebble shrapnel! "Don't! Hurt! My! Friend!"

Meanwhile, one of the golems continues to battle Aimarra. And by battle, it tries to bat the annoying half-elf away as she flails at it with her morningstar. When those stony fists start slamming home on Aelwyn, there are uncomfortable crunches and the draconian's ears are send ringing. Eyes dazed and with another cough of blood, he gazes up just in time to see Slixvah bring forth the lightning. And shatter his prey.
Aelwyn's eyes narrow. "Tch, that was this one's dance, Ribbon! This one had it!" He rumbles, spits to the side before turning around. The blood soaked Dragoon steps forward and with a near annoyed, casual swing of his blade he breaks apart the cage holding Irshya. "Hngh. Careful, Sharkie." The draconian then twists his head, as another golem starts lumbering their way - slamming the end of his spear into the bone, cracking one of them. "These creatures do have some punch left in them."
The golem that had entrapped Irshya stalks forward, only to witness Aelwyn reduce its bone cage to splinters of charred marrow. Its slowness just makes it an easier target, as Aelwyn's glaive licks out again, biting into the construct and cracking some of its dusty bones.

Aimarra, meanwhile, left on the other side pretty much on her own, continues to flail at the bone golem. One rib cracks with a *crunch* of bone as she lands one blow almost by accident, but she's not really getting anywhere.

Wracking her mind for a way to get around these creatures' notorious magical resistance, Fidget sees Irshya finally get rescued from the boney cage and while relieved, also finds it jogs her memory of a spell she knows that also engulfs things - and whose magic does not directly interact with the victim. Fidget points at a point in the air, and calls out arcane words, and as she gestures, a drop of water seems to pour out of small tear in space just behind the golem, then accumulates into a huge, churning ball of water. She flicks her wrist and it brushes up against the golem, but so far, it hasn't yet done more than make it wet, the damned thing is too heavy to get hold of easily.

Irshya wastes no time moving once the cage of bones is smashed to flinders by the Sith. "Thanks, Firebutt! Though uh... you're not looking too hot. Let me fix you up a little."
The pool-shark begins to go through the motion of casting a spell, but nothing changes noticeably on the Sith. "Erm..." She gives her hand a shake, and gestures again, then looks over her shoulder at the Golem. "DO YOU BLOODY MIND?! This is getting RIDICULOUS!"

One of those ribbons unravel further, ethereal tendrils rearranging wounds to be more superficial. "I gotchu boo, kick they stone ass!"

The golem facing Aimarra seems unfazed by the water swirling around it, lumbering through. Carver peeks left. Just checking on the Beef, the Witch, and the Priestess who seem to be struggling. Then looks back to where Aimarra stands her ground against the other golem on her own. She sticks her tongue out, a bad habit, and this time aims very carefully where the cracks have already formed. Three shots, pop, pop, pop widen the developing wound in the construct.
She ducks out of sight again but everyone hears her excited whooping.

Aelwyn flicks his head in dismissive annoyance; obviously the unsatisfying conclusion to his riveting fight has left him grinding his teeth. "This one is grateful." The draconian grits as his wounds start to feel less like someone hitting him repeatedly. A concerned look is thrown towards Irshya, but then he levels a gaze towards Slixvah as well, bloody teeth spreading to a grin. "Let us level this golem."
Turning on his heel, the ribboned glaive strikes several times on the bony creature, leaving it heavily battered and bruised.

The other bone golem stumbles as Aelwyn whales on it, bone charring and cracking under the repeated blows. But then the spark flares in its eyesockets as well, and a hard blow sends Aelwyn back. Another strike sends Aimarra reeling, but the incoming arrows snap her out of the incipient panic that was sending her blows astray. She straightens, and the morningstar snaps out again. The first fails to land, but as the thing dodges, the second two land, one with a hard *crack*. The second blow lands, and the thing shatters into dust, leaving the ranger to slump in relief against the pillar next to her, a bruise on her cheekbone already purpling.

Frowning at her floating water orb, now nowhere near the remaining enemy, she leaves it to collect and churn the remains of the disabled bone golem, periodically shooting a bone fragment across the room as it finds escape velocity at the edge of the current. Instead, Fidget moves up to and around a pillar while rummaging around in her petticoats for her rarely used dragonspitter, and she plants her feet solidly as she two-hands the oversized pistol. Firing a single shot that lands dead center on the creature, her mouth gapes in bafflement as it bounces off to no effect. "Shoulda used a spell. Weapons are always less fun, and less useful. Even the exploding ones."

Irshya leans heavily upon her trident, taking a moment to look around. She wipes a trickle of blood from her chin, and gingerly fingers her swollen lip. Her tongue licks at the spot where the latest tooth fell from.
"Holy World Circling Serpent, your humble servant calls upon you once more to instill her tiny frame with your divine power. Heal my companion's wounds, remove the pain from their minds."
Her holy symbol glows brightly once more, the glow diffusing into the others, their wounds beginning to close.
"One more push, give it HELL, people!"

Slixvah snickers at Aelwyn. "See, I knew ya'd come around, hon!" Which in turn winces as the makari gets another lick after his assault. Loud sounds of stone breaking and crumbling gets the witch to pivot a wing to look over her shoulder- "'ey! Dey got it down! Lezzgo! Let's get this one!"
The knife twirls around her fingers as another slash cuts at invisible threads once more, and a hand shoots out to pull them to reality. "Jus' need a bigger gun, Fidget! And thankies RishRish!" she coos before yanking them taut. A though crosses her, as the knife gently pulls a thread off of her own arm, and loops it into the ones she severed from the golem.
Her eyes grow wide. "LAMENT WHAT WAS. DESPAIR WHAT WILL BE," she announces in a booming, creepy tone as she holds these threads.

Aelwyn gets hit again by the golem and he staggers backwards. He wipes at the end of his mouth with the back of his hand. He was feeling more relief as Irshya speaks those words. "This one is grateful, Sharkie. But this thing shall be destroyed, now." He states, as he steps up.
With a casual twist of his body, he slashes his glaive across the bones of the golem - and then finishes his twist by yanking the curved blade upwards, shattering the rest of the golem into pieces. "Tch." He spits to the ground, swinging the glaive around his - very pained - shoulders. "Anyone else?" He asks as he turns towards the rest of the party, red teeth flashing in a macabre grin.
Carver steps out, and other than some dust and sweat, she is pristine. Not even so much as a scratch. Her smile reveals the large gap between her front teeth, but it seems pleased. "Not bad for a new team, innit?"
And suddenly, silence again. Not the chill silence of the guardian constructs, but the silence that comes in the aftermath of a battle. The shattered remains of the golems litter the floor, and there is some defacement of the walls -- an unavoidable loss, considering you were fighting for your lives. The priests and archaeologists will just have to deal with it.
But beyond the plinth where the robed animated statue had stood is a second set of double doors, depicting a tall, rather pinch-faced man, dressed in the robes of a King, bearing the crook and khopesh of a priest. Ahlatos, one might presume. From his looks, even stylized, he seems like the kind of man who would do taxes for fun.
But nevertheless, he waits beyond those doors.
