Selentia.

It's every bit as hot here as it is in Alexandria, and just as busy in spite of the growing lateness of the hour. It's been a lovely day, so maybe that has something to do with it. Either way, you arrive at the designated 'teleportation' area on schedule. The flurry of spellcasting that you've gone through before your arrival is unnoticed by the general masses who pass you by. Though you do get a few looks.

In particular, these looks are apprising (Telamon), curious (the group of you), and mildly surprised (Dolan).

The ride is as smooth as always, even if it's weird traveling by spatial translocation. Telamon stands in the center of the group, looking unruffled and calm, dressed to the nines as he always is. This time it's a cream-colored, loose fitting tunic with puffed sleeves over linen trousers tucked into his boots, and a broad-brimmed white hat with an outrageous purple feather stuck in the band. But he also wears the sleeveless robe that empowers his magic, his haversack slung on his hip as the sorcerer looks around, smiling in that friendly way.

"And we're here, ladies and gentlefolk. I believe we have an appointment to keep, so shall we be about it?" His dark, starry eyes dance with a touch of mischief. "I admit I'm very curious as to what we'll learn."

Rune is certainly not among those throwing spells around. In fact, she just sort of stands in the midsts of it all, hands resting at her hips, eyes darting between her friends and allies with some measure of amusement. "One of these days, I'm going to learn a language, just so I can mumble nonsense and pretend I know magic." She teases, her lip quirked slightly.

Then, looking to Telamon, the rogue nods. "Ready when you are. And... by that I mean, we're done throwing spells around for the time being so... let's get going?" She raises a brow.

To a quiet Dolan, heat is still better than cold and wet, and he stumps along, the cool focus of the inquisitor at the fore on this particular day. Being to some degree familiar with Selentia's emphasis on formality, he has opted to replace the usual vest with a gold-on-white mantle, atop his armor and fighting attire. He'd accepted the one spell aimed at him with a polite nod of thanks to Harkashan.

"We are attracting attention to ourselves," he warns the group quietly. The look he is getting is not lost on him. "Let's begone."

The temperature is quite nice, as far as Harkashan is concerned. He's wearing his armor after a rather bad time at the beach, his wounds still healing a bit. At this point, he's being overly careful. He's not fully familiar with what they might walk in on, but he's learned that it's likely going to be 'not fun' or 'friendly'.

So, Harkashan waits for the teleportation to pull them through. And once they arrive, he lifts his head, and tries to look like he belongs in a place like this. Bowing his head to those looking at them.

Andelena casts one spell on herself, a murmured prayer for strength to carry her through this. She accepts the other blessings doled out by Harkashan with a nod and a murmured thank you. But otherwise she looks none too happy to be here. Selentia's a land of bad reminders.

"Yup, got a lot of eyeballs on us. We stick out like sore fuckin' thumbs," Andelena grumbles. "Well, let's fuck off and be about it."

Unfortunately for her, she remembers exactly where this mansion is. It's hard to forget the things you hate. Such as being forced to go to the house of a boy that you could throw down onto the deck before he even blinks if he says _one more thing_ about proper breeding and good manners. So she strides quickly, teeth grinding a little.

You make your way through the streets without much in the way of anything to stop you or distract you along the way. A few carts. A bit of a scuffle near a bar that you easily avoid. Everything really, is as it should be. Thus do you make it to the mansion that belongs to the man that Andelena was once going to be engaged to. It's a massive and beautiful estate, easy to see why someone might long for it. People bustle by without paying it any mind at all. But this is your destination.

GAME: Telamon rolls bluff: (9)+26: 35

Telamon seems to lack any care at all, though his stride is swift and sure as he follows in Andelena's wake, the group moving on rapidly. But as they approach the estate, Tel lets out a soft sigh. "I seem to have attracted some admiring eyes. Story of my life, it seems..." He grins, though, as he approaches the low gate... pushing it aside with a hand, as he looks up at the house.

"I think I see why you weren't impressed with the fellow, Andelena. I know there's a certain level of... architectural necessity involved when you're a noble, and there are worse things to spend your money on. But after a certain point I think of the old joke about 'compensating for something'."

The sight of the mansion causes Rune to let out a low whistle. "So this is the place, yeah?" She looks over to Andelena, one brow raised. As someone who lives job to job and doesn't even have a permanent place to live, seeing a manse like this, utterly abandoned, has her shaking her head slightly. "Doesn't look like anyone has been in residence for a while."

And then, her ear twitches. Rune turns her head to look back at a group of girls who seem to keep ducking behind things to stay out of sight. "It really is impossible for you to go anywhere without attracting a fan-club, isn't it?" She smirks.

Then, with the comments about compensating, Rune tilts her head.

Harkashan mentally is tracking the strength of his spells as they move. Their progress is slow, so the Sith-makar is a bit worried much of their preparations might falter before they get into a moment of conflict. Of course at the same time, if they could avoid conflict, that would be wonderful as well. He's not going in looking for a fight.

"Tel, that's what you get for dressing like a peacock when you're on business," Dolan mutters, a turn of his face towards the gaggle of girls behind them saying that he'd spotted it too. Instead of attempting to be subtle about it, he turns back to face the gaggle, and raises his remaining eyebrow, turning his full harlequin gaze on the group. It remains there for several long moments.

"Don't let the eyes get to your ego, starman. Just because I call you that doesn't mean I want you floating up into the clouds or some shit," Andelena grumbles. "Besides, you got a wife."

She looks at the mansion herself when Rune remarks that it looks like nobody's lived here in a while. "Yeah, real fucking shocker, ain't it? More money than sense while a few streets over, the poor are starving. Welcome to the Myrrish kingdom of Selentia, land of a thousand princes. The hypocrisy stinks about as much as the piss in the chamber pots the maids have to dump out every morning do."

She sighs. Apparently Andelena had been holding that one in for a bit. "Lemme go up to the door," Andelena says, "_just_ in case anyone's home." So she does. She knocks. And she crosses her arms. And she waits, half-expecting Hamilton to open up the door to greet her.

That's the reason why her right hand, clad in armor and all, is clenching like she's about to throw a punch.

"Andelena, please calm yourself," Deliverance politely requests. "Remember that a Sunguard does not work on vengeance."

The girls look properly intimidated by Dolan's glare, but they don't scatter. They do start whispering amongst themselves while giving the man side-eyes glances as if rethinking any decisions.

Meanwhile Andelena knocks on the door, but there's no reply. Nothing. Not even a flicker of life beyond the closed curtains of the window. Though those are unseasonably heavy and closed tightly so as to not allow a view of the interior.

Strange.

GAME: Telamon casts Detect Magic. Caster Level: 18 DC: 18

Telamon sighs. "I guess trying to 'blend in' is a fool's errand at this point." He snorts. "I'm still not going to wear robes though, that's like carrying around a sign saying 'look at me, I'm a great wizard'." As Andelena knocks on the door, he murmurs a cantrip, his eyes shimmering briefly. He gets a little closer, as if trying to peer -through- the door, fingers hovering just over the wooden surface.

"There's a spell on the other side. I wonder what would happen if we went in through a window?" Tel looks at Andie, before giving the door handle an experimental push.

The doorway opens just a crack.

Sometimes, Rune forgets how intimidating Dolan can be. So, she looks between him and the girls, raising a hand to barely contain her brief show of amusement.

It's an expression that doesn't linger sa she turns back to Andelena, giving a nod as her features steel into concern. "My guess is that someone still watches over the place. Otherwise, I imagine we'd have seen squatters by now." Though, that just may be her experience with less than savory sorts.

Hearing that there is a spell near the door has Rune distinctly stepping back when Telamon moves to open it. "I'm all for windows, but... it would be hard to tell what we'd be heading into with curtains like those."

Harkashan rumbles; "Want me to just walk through and see what's on the other side?" He offers to the group.

"Just a minute." Dolan holds up a hand, letting the rest of them wrangle the door, and strides over to the gaggle of girls. The mobile half of his expression holds no anger or rancor, only set determination. The other half is eerie in its sheer expressionlessness.

"Ladies," he starts seriously. "Yes, he's handsome, but he's married, and you remember what happened to the Calogref estate?" He looks among all of them. "It's not safe for you to be here, yeah?"

GAME: Dolan rolls diplomacy: (11)+15: 26

"Hark, if you wanna do that--" Andelena begins to say, but the door just... opens, a little, from the push. She blinks. "Shit. That wasn't even locked. It just fucking opened from a push."

She looks at Rune. "If it's not being squatted in now, it's about to fuckin' be," she remarks. "Hark, if you're going in, I might go with you, but not until Bry catches back up with us." She's unwilling to leave her man behind.

"Married?" One of the young ladies says, eyeing Telamon and the rest sigh regretfully. "Alright..." She sighs too and the group gathers together and they nod politely to Dolan before heading away from here - and him. They seem disappointed, but willing to go along now that they know Telamon's already taken.

Telamon freezes, though it has nothing to do with the girls departing. "Hold it, Andie," he says, his voice taking on a startling snap. "Conjuration, illusion... just the sort of thing you'd use to hide a portal. Illusion to cloak the door, conjuration to open a path between places." He focuses, studying what he can see through the barely-open door more intently.

"Well done, Dolan," he says absently. "The fan club in Alexandria didn't even miss a beat when I got married. They just keep showing up for my lectures. I hope they listen, at least -- I can live with being ogled if it means they won't do stupid things with their magical talents."

"Yeah. Sorry." Dolan waits until the girls are turned away and on their way, and then returns to rejoin the others, with only one glance back over his shoulder. "What did you find?" Clearly, he hadn't been paying attention to the discussion around the door. "I doubt these girls have ever touched magic in their lives. Let's get inside before they come back."

"Wow... I'm, actually surprised that worked." Rune had apparently still been listening in on Dolan's interaction with the girls. Then again, maybe it is because Rune, herself, has no problem appreciating a bit of eye-candy, married or not. There's no harm in looking. Even at the very hot 'Grandfather' of one of her best friends.

That aside, the rogue stops as Telamon starts doing a more in-depth examination of the door and whatever magic is around it. "Sounds like potential trouble?" Magic is not her strong point. However, whenever potential trouble rears its head, Rune does reach for her weapons, grasping one of her blades from the sheath on her back.

Once Dolan returns from scaring off the flocks... party... murder... gaggle? Gaggle. Once Dolan returns from scaring off the gaggle of fangirls, Harkashan nods at Andelena. "If it hides a portal, then let us proceed inside. If we need to get out, I assume you have a way to do so." Harkashan inquires with Telamon.

If Telamon gives a yes, he'll just wander on through.

"Yeah, babe, looks like they stashed a portal in here, all right," Andelena remarks to Dolan as he comes back over. "Looks like the info we had was good."

She looks at Telamon. "Provided there isn't anything else on that door besides the magical equivalent of, 'Yup, this is a portal that'll take us someplace else entirely and I'm a little shit who likes hiding doors', I'm gonna go on your count through it." She looks poised to do so. The Sunguard's itching to get this done.

Telamon takes a deep breath. "It's the gate. Alright... they were passing people through it, like your brother Gale, so I can't imagine it dumps out into an endless pit of lava or something. Still, once we pass through, don't go running off. Let me lay a ward on all of you to keep you alive."

He offers Andelena a grin. "Let's go flip some tables, eh?" He straightens up, and gives the door a firm push, letting it swing open. "I think Lana is -really- rubbing off on me," he muses.

But when they lift, they adjust into position in and Harkashan moves forward, one arm forward, pushing the door aside and stepping in with purpose.

"Right after ya, buddy," Andelena remarks as she goes to step in after him. The Sunguard's on a mission that she intends to see through.

"May the Knight see us through this," Deliverance murmurs from her place on Andelena's hip. It appears she doesn't like the idea of this very much. Maybe sentient weapons feel translocation-sick like anyone else.

Dolan is right on the heels of the others, most especially once Andelena is through - he's not intending to be left behind, and knowing that there is a portal somewhere in the vicinity, it pays to stay close. One last glance back to ensure no one else is watching them is a brief one before he turns and strides through.

Leave it to Harkashan to want to walk boldly into the unknown, while Rune tends to hold back a bit and act with at least a smidgeon more caution. She steps up next to Telamon, watching as the others seem to take the lead on stepping in. "Guess we're all heading in. See you on the other side." There is some trepidation there, but in goes Rune, following after the others.

As Harkashan steps through, he gets a brief view of a desolate landscape before Andelena bumps into him coming through the gate. The sith-makar has a little trouble and trips himself - through a second gate standing just a few feet beyond the first one. Suddenly he's standing in a house full of servants and everyone else files through into the desolate landscape that hides behind the illusion of an empty house.

The landscape that everyone but Harkashan sees is flooded with magma, the sky choked with ash and smoke. It's hot. Unbearably hot. The heat of Selentia is like a cool winter compared to this!

Harkashan steps with purpose, and stumbles. A moment of desolate landscape. A moment of familiarity, that almost immediately departs when that stumble sends him through further...

And straight into the abandoned home. Looking around him in confusion.

"Guys?" He rumbles in confusion... looking back. A wall. Forward. People. His head tilts, seeing these servants before him. The people of this house, where there was just moments ago nothing.

This has him squinting.

"Where am I?" He asks the servants.

Telamon's eyes widen as the party finds itself without Harkashan, and in a blasted landscape to boot. The heat is brutal, and the air -- well, Tel is now very glad he doesn't need to breathe. But he's in a minority here, and so he pulls the group together before touching his haversack, and the lapel of his sleeveless robe. "Protection, as one walks the circles and paths beyond Ea," he murmurs. There's a shimmering, silvery flash of light that wraps around him, before leaping to Dolan, Rune, and Andelena -- the heat receding, the air going from 'practically unbreathable' to 'eh, tastes funny'.

"Dammit," he growls. Tel looks around, before staring back through the gate. "Wait, there he is, but..." He waves a hand, but he's unsure if Hark can see him, let alone hear him. "We're on the plane of fire," he mutters. "So how did he wind up there?" He takes a step towards that gate, peering carefully.

It wasn't that long ago that Rune had experienced Prion Prison, which had rifts to the Fire Plane. This... is more than a few steps worse than that. "Oh sweet holy fuck." There is an exhalation of sound from Rune. She normally doesn't wear particularly heavy armor, but one hand moves up to start unclasping parts of the leather outer shell over her Mithral shirt.

The difficulty breathing eases almost as soon as Telamon's spell comes over her. Coughing once, she stays still, not wanting to risk ending up somewhere else entirely, but her eyes are definitely locked on the vision of Harkashan somewhere distinctly other than where the rest of the group is at. "Shit... there's more than one portal?" She asks. "So... how do we get him back?" Her eyes are just a little wider than normal. This is her mate who is, possibly, in an entirely other plane of existence.

Andelena looks like she's about to turn as red as her hair until Telamon's spell goes off. She sighs deeply in relief, but when Telamon points out Harkashan's not with them, she scowls.

"Shit. Me bumping into him must have sent him like--down another hallway or something? I don't know how this shit works. Planar travel is fucking weird."

She thinks. "Can we--I dunno, reach in and yank him back out into here? Anyone wanna try?"

Dolan stops short, looking around him, and immediately starts flushing as the heat gets to him. Heat is better than cold, but especially in armor, this is too much. He, too, breathes a sigh of relief as the spell takes hold, and looks up where Telamon directs. "Would we have to leave to get him? We've got to all stay together."

The servant turns toward Harkashan and smiles widely. "Ah! Ser or Madame!" Seems he can't tell what gender Harkashan is. "You must be here for the ritual! Will you come with me? The ritual room is right this way!" The servant gestures for Harkashan to follow him. "Which Gate did you come by? Are you feeling a little out of sorts? We've water or wine if you'd like before you join the others!"

"Ser." Harkashan answers the servant, so clearly looking to catch the correct one. He doesn't answer in regards to the ritual however. He doesn't know what ritual they speak of. He instead just lets out that deep rumble of a voice and considers the servant without confirming or denying the matter.

"The Selentia gate - through the flames." He answers matter-of-factly and rubs his head a bit. Trying to get his bearings better. "Rather than water, do you have something to deal with the cold here?" He motions at his red scales as if this should explain the matter.

While the others are looking at Harkashan's image up on the hill, Dolan is, out of habit, glancing around, and reflexively reaches for the harness at his chest, a shudder rippling down his spine. "Trouble," he mutters. "It's a ways off, but it's dangerous, whatever it is."

The half-sil archmage raises his hands, frowning. Studying the window. He actually starts a couple times, and then stops, before his expression clears. "Oh. Of course. Silly me." Then his eyes take on an intent look, and starlight glows deeply in them. The air cooling for a moment around him, even in the heat. Holding his hands out in front of him, he begins to chant.

"Anubda, kaskal nu siten, irhandi saggan!" A crackle of silvery light and a series of geometric patterns expand into a ring that opens up and out, a door to another world. A Gate, leading right into the entry hall where Harkashan is poorly trying to banter with the servant.

"Everyone through, if you please. And make sure we don't lose our friend this time."

"I guess we better--" Andelena says, scowling, but then Telamon just... opens up another gate. She blinks. Two times. "Well. Umm. Okay. Fuck."

"Language," Deliverance says with a soft sigh.

Andelena opens her mouth, and then she says, "You know what, no, I _get_ to have a curse at that, Livvie. Hark!" She draws her blade. "Come on, let's go!"

Without another word more, she goes through Telamon's gate, going to save Harkashan from whatever's on the other side.

Rune's eyes stay locked on Harkashan, but her ears are perked to other trouble, so there is a moment after Dolan speaks that her attention is split. "Fuck, just what we need..." Her other sword is drawn out, looking towards the one-eyed warrior.

And then... there are strange words followed by silvery light and a portal. "Well, I'm going to trust the Archmage knows what he's doing." So, Rune heads through into whatever the strange place it is that Harkashan has found himself. If nothing else, maybe they'll all end up in the same place this time?

The servant beams at Harkashan. "Of course ser!" He moves a little to a cabinet and pulls out a little tea service and pours a steaming cup for Harkashan. Then he hurriedly brings it back over the sith-makar. "Guaranteed to warm you up Ser! Just let me-"

He looks a bit perturbed when suddenly people start spilling into the room out of the blue. "Hey! Use the proper Gates! Don't make your own!" He puts his hands on his hips and stares them down. "Now, I've just offered this Ser a cup of tea, would you care for one before the ritual?"

Harkashan accepts the tea like a gentleman and blinks in confusion when he feels a sudden existence of magic behind him. He turns back, wondering if someone else was coming through the 'Gate' when he sees his friends arrive. "Ah, you're just in time." Harkashan rumbles. "This lovely gentleman was just telling me that the ritual room is right this way." He motions towards the place the servant hand pointed to before.

"Shall we?" He then asks the servant.

"Probably for the best," Dolan says, staring back towards whatever it was he saw, and turning to stride for the portal. "Let's get out of here." Like the others, he trusts in Telamon's acumen, but when he steps through the gates, he abruptly hesitates, and moves to stand out of the way, attempting to make himself inconspicuous.

It's the first time he's done this, but Telamon is not going to tell the others that. There's a surprising bit of strain to it, and he's reminded of watching oruch or giantborn weightlifters struggle under their burdens. But then everyone is through, and Telamon follows -- the gate snapping shut behind him, as he hears the servant's protests.

"Sorry, friend, but there was a bit of a traffic problem. Had to find a different route, you know how it is." He regards the servant with those dancing, starlit eyes. "But since we're here now, perhaps you should point the way. We wouldn't want to keep people waiting."

His fingers casually flex as he speaks.

Andelena doesn't like this. Doesn't like any of this. She's not bluffing, isn't good at bluffing, never will be bluffing. Every part of her is genuine like that.

Which is why she gives the servant a look that could kill.

"Don't want your tea, thanks." It's said in the exact same tone that she would ordinarily say something along the lines of 'jump up your own ass and die somewhere in the lonely little hole you call a sphincter'. "You should do as starman here says."

For a moment, Rune is standing there before Harkashan and the servant, with her swords out, looking as if she may just be ready to throw down. Then, ever so slowly, she lowers the tips of her blades and looks around with some measure of confusion.

"Uh, did you ever think that maybe drinking random shit from strangers is a bad idea?" She looks at the Makari warily, then the servant. In her expression, it's obvious she is feeling far more similarly to Andelena than anything else.

"How about some details about what this ritual is before we walk into it head-first? Last time I walked into a ritual it involved werewolves and demons and not-quite-virgin sacrifices."

The servant looks at Telamon and blinks then smiles. "Ah! You're with the Ser! That's fantastic. Guests of honor. I'm so pleased, and so too will everyone else be!" He blinks at Andelena and then laughs. "Of course Madame! As you wish! Anything for those with the Ser here!"

He turns and quickly leads the way down the hall. Explaining as he walks. "As I'm sure you know, the lady Respa is currently in the Plane of Fire signing the Contract that will bind her to V. Our lord and master. The ritual will summon It to us and It will take her body for It's own glorious purpose! You were just in the Plane of Fire at the binding yes? It must be magnificent! "Wonderful use of incense, sir." He adds for the sake of the servant, while moving with him. "Though I do fear I missed the ritual on the Plane of Fire. I think I missed the gate." He remarks. "Can you help me get back to the Plane of Fire?" He remarks, pointing back. "I think my allies here made the same mistake I did. I know I walked through it, but I think I missed a turn."

The moment the servant turns his back to Dolan and begins to move down the hall, he immediately pulls the buttons loose and sweeps off the white and gold mantle on his shoulders, stuffing it unceremoniously into his haversack. He remains silent as a churchmouse, merely following the others at some distance from the servant.

The servant looks at Harkashan in horror and says, "Oh no! That's terrible! We're going all the wrong way then. I'll get you there right as rain Ser." He smiles helpfully and turns the group around, leading you back through the house the way you've come.

Once you are back to where Harkashan came through the servant points to a red line along the wall "Just step right through here Ser."

It's easy enough to follow the path through and back to the Plane of Fire.

Now you just have to find the binding.
