  • Title: Trick or Treat 2
  • Emitter: Cryosanthia
  • Characters: Gregor, Tenoc, Randolf
  • Place: A02: Goblintown
  • Time: Monday, October 12, 2020, 3:07 PM
  • Summary: Gregor and Tenoc are patrolling in Goblintown, watching out for threats. This is hard, as almost everything in Goblintown is on the verge of turning into a disaster, so much that it's become everyday. Randolf is involved in a magic experiment which goes awry. The mage tower collapses into a butchers, and arcane energy infuses the holiday turkeys, which animate and attack. Battle Ensues, are heroes struggling with turkeys on their heads, before the face off against the real foe. A giant, holiday bird made out of smaller holiday turkeys, all feather-bare skinned and buttery. It's nauseating, figuratively and literally, and also packs an incredible wallop. Tenoc is taken down, Gregor fights well but is caught and about to have the life squeezed out of him when his rescues him. Randolf was incapacitated by Turkey for most of the battle, but managed to get in some magic shots that helped turn the day. In the aftermath, things settle down and some of the gobbos claim the free turkeys.

'Goblintown' consists of a dead-end street where a number of poor (and, as the name suggests, goblinoid) residents of the city live. Many of the buildings here have been cobbled together with whatever material was available at the time, often bits of metal and stone stolen from the factories to the north rather than wood. That said, in recent days, many of these temporary structures have been converted to more permanent fixtures, giving the area a less 'shanty' and more 'conventional' appearance, interspersed with the previously impoverished look the place was known for.

The occasional shrine to Reos seems to represent the only 'official' presence in the area, with the City Watch seeming all but invisible here. In their place, there appear to be numerous Arvek and Gobber groups that form a makeshift community watch, giving the sense of wary eyes on every street. From time to time, the symbol of Serriel may be seen as well, though mainly among the Arvek, who oft bear it with pride. Oruch shops sit alongside gobber ones, though the latter far outnumber the former; gobbos' nimble minds make them the natural crafters of the goblinoid world.

At one point there were few shops here, but now the entire area bristles with brisk trade of things ranging from basic necessities to the more esoteric magical and bits of artificery. It is said that one can find everything they need in Goblintown without having to step foot in another section of the city, and this statement, judging by the activity in this area night and day, may very well hold true.

Goblintown.

The chaotic center of Alexandria, perhaps the universe. It is always difficult to tell what is a dangerous warning sign here, and what is normal and every-day. The gobbo fire-eater and the gobbo fire-walker having a collision in the streets and becoming gobbo fire dancers? Unusual, or average. The cannon sounding high noon, prompting several accidental and intentional discharges of other firearms, either late to use it as cover or evidence of poor trigger discipline, or poor design. That seems to be a regular occurance, from other the locals react. The loud arguments between artificers selling their wares, that's regular, and their occasional flare-ups into a minor street war, sadly also, regular. Immature gobbos in the throws of magical transmutation, also, regular. In the constant cacophany, it's hard to identify threats.

Is that three kobolds in a trenchcoat?

Very worn down hobgoblins attempt to ride herd on their smaller cousins, doing their best to enforce guidelines. No explosions between 2am and 6am, yes we're all noctural, some of us still like sleeping when it is dark. It's a bad habbit we caught from the humans. No unrestrained magical constructs. Don't let the little ones escape. Limit your attacks to direct fire, and not splash weapons. The heavily ignored list goes on, and on. The few tall patrollers stand like rocks in a sea of goblins, and eye anyone their height with a weary gaze that intimates, 'don't start anything'.

Gregor can hardly watch everything, but he tries. He's a cavalry scout, but in the field, broad plains mostly have grass and trees, which don't throw up or explode normally. In Alexandria, he's grown a bit twitchy, but Traveller, his trusty steed, takes it all in stride, and he does, too, as much as he can, the horse out for a walk and him out for a ride, mainly just taking exercise.

Tenoc is one of those tall, intimidating patropllers, carrying just the faintest air of unrestrained menace around him.

...and a small woven sack that he reaches into with due gravitas, tuggiong out something small, wriggly, and (to the looks of it) entirely delicious.

The Makar chews thoughtfully, teeth thankfully occupied from being bared. Also, conveniently close to one of the goblin forge-oven-firepits. Heat-- bliss! Food, flame, and contentment-- even surrounded by goblins and gunfire and detonations, all is well with the world.

Tenoc, the picture of serenity.

Gobbos flow around Traveller's legs, trusting him not to step on them. Misplaced trust perhaps, but life is too short to walk around horses, especially when you're short enough to walk under. The wanderings take the cavalry hobgoblin past a butcher's shop. A slightly unusual sight, as most goblins are into fire, tinkering, and explosions, not sectionning meat from carcasses that dwarf them. There are a line of dressed turkeys hanging from the awning, prepared for an obscure holiday of the northerners.

The butcher's shop is right across the street from where the patrolling sith has stationned himself. It would seem the butcher is making use of the forge-oven-firepits herself, moving back and forth between her shop and the kitchens, tending to some domed cooking plates. The delicious scent of roast turkey wafting away from them whenever she lifts a lid.

A sudden excited exclaim from the buidling is barely heard over the street noise. It sounds like a cackling mad scientist, "It's Alive!". Again, a standard occurance here. As is, "Oops."

The third story magical explosion that follows... is rare. Subsequent magical bursts, of a glittering green cloud full of bright sparkles of stars arcing away as the walls blow out, are unique. As is the mage's tower sloughing down into the butchers beside it, with a second wave of magical mist, and dust rolling out into the streets as it collapses.

Almost everyone turns to watch, a few familiar with the drill start running.

Tenoc 's reflexes are smooth, catlike, instinctive--!

Thoughtful, contemplative, carefully considering?

...or someone more familiar with Sith biology might say-- laggard, sluggish, serene. There is food to guard after all, and the fire will not enjoy itself. Green sparkles!

And turkeys. Whole turkeys, nearly as large as half of Tenoc. Much easier than hunting-- though pause to growl at a group of suspicious--

--is that three kobolds in a longcoat?

Gregor looks up from his horse to the magical explosion. He sighs a bit as the goblins swarm closer to have a better look. He barks, "Get back!" in a commanding baritone, nudging his horse forward to physically impede the curiosity seekers from getting too close. He won't stop the really determined, but hopefully the rank-and-file goblins won't go poking their noses in unexploded artifice. He squints at the figure in the longcoat. Gah, this city will let anyone in.

"No no -no- NO!! DINNE CROSS THE STREAMS YE--" Panicked dwarven bellowing on that third story is cut off by the magical explosion. "GWAAAAAHH!" Out the window comes sailing the burly figure of Randolf Axepeak. Arms and legs flailing as he lands on an awning across the street. He scrabbles at the flimsy fabric as the wood frame bows under his hefty weight. Taking a death grip on the gaudily colored awning, he lets loose a sigh of relief. "Whew! Tha' was--" His relief is interrupted by a sickening KRAK as the frame snaps. His eyes go wide as tea saucers as he starts leaning away from the wall. "Ohh shit shit shit SHIIIIIIIT!" He plummets towards the street, bellowing in panic. But the tattered awning catches around a streetlamp, slowing his descent, until he coasts to a stop mere inches from the street. He slowly cracks one eye open, looking around. "Thank Reos," he whispers hoarsely. Gingerly, he sets a foot down on the ground, and turns loose of the awning. Looking around, he reaches up to straighten his bonnet, and gives the lapels of his robe a tug, before looking back up at the window. "WHAT THE HELL DID I -TELL- YE 'BOUT CROSSIN' THE STREAMS, YE RAM-SHAGGIN' IDIOT?!" he roars furiously.

It couldn't possibly be three kobolds in a trenchcoat. It must be some lumpy sith'makar woman with a high pitched voice. Who is running rather oddly away.

Oddly, because the majority of goblins are running towards the explosion. Everyone loves a good explosion. At least until Gregor moves his horse, and Tenoc glares. Suddenly the disapproval of hob and sith cause the gobbos to back away.

This is fortuitous. The explosions weren't done. There is a bubbling, a burbling, and then the screech of fireworks as several flaming somethings are launched into the air and arc for the street.

Actually, it _was_ three kobolds. The flaming something smacks her... them directly in the back of the trenchcoat and she breaks into component lizards.

There is no time to appreciate this. A second look reveals the flaming somethings as turkeys, on fire and flapping their bare wings. Gregor and Tenoc get an exceptionally close view as -thump-, -thump-, they engulf their heads. Things go dark.

Several more bounce nearby in the streets, where gawky eye'd gobbos would have been their victims if not for the efforts of the two...

...Don't call them Turkeyheads. They are heroes goddamnit.

And one flops right in front of Randolf as he shouts back at the shell of a building.

GAME: Randolf rolls weapon2: (8)+4: 12

Flaming green turkeys. Randolf warned them. He warned them that there would be terrible consequences for crossing the streams. But they didn't listen, and -now- look what's happened. He gapes at the menacing poultry for a moment, before shaking his head. "Oh, beards o' me sweet tapdancin' fathers," he growls. He pulls his axe off his belt and brings it down. "YEARGH!" But the turkey is more devious than he ever dared imagine, as it hops aside. "C'mere, ye wee bugger!"

GAME: Gregor rolls cmb: (8)+8: 16

Gregor werstles around with the new turkey-hat he's been given, trying to pry it from his head. but it's clinging like a limpet and no matter what he does, he can't seem to get free. Blar and the army were so much easier, he muses dispiritedly as he tries to pry an artifice-ially inspired turkey from his noggin.

As the axe falls, the flaming turkey dodges it, then somehow leaps on the dwarf's head. He feels engulfed by unpleasant, cold clammy flesh. Which also is on fire.

Gregor isn't fairing much better, the turkey on his head slaps at him with bare wings and wiggles about.

The one on Tenoc also flails around, beating at him and swinging its weight wildly. The sith finds himself staggering around blindly as the thing squeezes his head.

There are other noises, squeals and screams as gobbos start running from the other turkeys flopping about on the street. Running to get nets and pikes, who says there ain't no such thing as a free lunch? It's cooking itself right before the eyes.

There's a sudden puff of more magical dust from the butcher's shop, and an eerie, unearthly cry.

"Globloblbolboblobolbolbolboblo."

A turkey gobble, a big one.

The lights! They are GONE. And worse, those little wriggly candied treats-- they are blocked from delectable dini-- er, study before bringing them back to Mictlan and Little Fang! WOE.

..and everything also smells of flaming turkey?

For a moment, Tenoc stands stock still, a lizardy body with a plucked, immolating bird for a head. Then, with studied and great care, he reaches up to remove said fowl adherence

... by tearing the Burning Bird in HALF.

Tenoc roars, steaming fury as he seethes in rage! Tossing half the turkey re-carcass into the fire piut/stove/forge, he marches towards the other plopped fowl, eyes glittering dangerously.

Randolf's eyes get wide as the turkey does the unthinkable, and leaps at him. "GWA--MMMPH!" His battleaxe clangs to the ground as the head-turkey leaps atop him. His meaty hands slap to the turkey as he staggers, bending double while fighting to get the accursed fowl off. "MMM MMGHGM PHMM MMHMPH!"

Gregor gives up on trying to wrestle the chicken from his head. He draws the sword at his hip, a cavalry saber with a slight curve to it. But, and here's the thing. While he knows where the chicken is, he can't really -see- it. So it's a bit disorienting to stab it, and as it turns out, it's a bit -too- disorienting, and he manages to not accomplish much, apart from looking like a total dork.

Tenoc's turkey is dead, Randolf's is on the defensive and will try to get back in control. Gregor's is on the offensive and wiggle him around. There are five others in the street, chasing gobbos.

The Street turkeys attack ...that sounds like a holiday themed gang of ruffians...

The flaming head-turkeys continue their attack. The one on Randolf wrestling, kicking his hands with drumsticks and wings. So greasy. There is a green foxfire on the dwarf's hands now.

Likewise, the one on the cavalry hob gurbles and slurbles and throws its weight around, attempting to drag him out of the saddle. He stays seated, but Traveller has to move, making the two of them wander the streets.

All the turkeys that are lying on the cobbles bellyflop then stand on stumpy legs and chase gobbos. Some, spring into the air, but fail to land efectively on anyone.

There is a crash as the front of the butcher's shop falls away. Tenoc gets a great view, almost a dream come true. A bunch of little turkeys have joined together into one giant, globby, globbler, thing. It's lifting itself out of the rubble, it's on fire, and it echoes it's crazy call.

"Globlobloboloblbolbolbolbo."

...giant turkey. Self-cooking. Perfect for Mictlan feast. Tenoc drwas greatspear. Roar and leap at GIANT DELICIOUSNESS BIRD.

Still annoyed at the loss of his wriggly goodness, Tenoc grows as he glances to one side, retrieving the tepoztopilli from its place, leaning against the stonework of the gobber's shop. He blinks at the gobber butcher, grinning wickedly. "This one approve," he growls, turning back to the giant carcass amalgamation. Snarling with relish, the first attach is glorious-- fierce and leapiong and true, springing at the great monster!

...and the spear slides through like a hot shard through butter. The sith blinks in surprise as he daws back, staring at the tiny hole and distinct lack of anything but the foul fowl smell from inside.

"Hssk!"

GAME: Randolf rolls cmb: (8)+3: 11

"MMMMGH! MMMMMMGH!" Randolf's muffled voice is rising in pitch as his panic returns. Gregor keeps fighting off the turkey on his head, slashing with heavy strokes as the turkey clings to his noggin. He's got better luck this time, and he slams the blade into the turkey hard, causing it to squawk once and fall from his head. Sadly, repeatedly bashing his own head with his sword has left him a bit dazed. "Gah," he grumbles. "Stupid artificers," he swears.

The turky is tightening around Randolf's head and throat, and maybe stuffing turkey organs in his mouth. Very Unpleasant!

The turkeys fight light some unearthly beast. The dwarf feels, well, the hole into the turkey constricting around his neck. Fleshy giblets that were left inside for stuffing are stuffed into his mouth. He can't see at all, except when some light comes down the floppy neck-stump. The turkey is trying to choke him out! That's not how it's supposed to go!

And it usually involves a chicken.

The other little globblers flop around, and one smacks right down on a goblin. The gobbo is pratically engulfed, only his legs sticking out. The bird likely outweighs him too. More muffled screams occur.

Shrieking in protest, Tenoc finds himself hauled into the air, foul concoction from within the beast bathing his senses in a wretched scent. Tail lashing, Tenoc struggles, the crunch of cartilidge and breaking bone does little to stop the monst, leaving the Makar in seethiong fury as he wriggles desperately.

Randolf is getting desperate now. There's a crash of some crockery being knocked from a table as he topples onto his back. His stumpy legs kicking wildly as he rolls back and forth, digging his fingers into the turkey's delicious flesh. "MRRRRRRRRRGH!" His arms bulge under the fabric of his robe as he pulls with all his strength, straining to get the demon-turkey dislodged from his head. Preferrably before he suffers an ignoble death by gibblet-suffocation. How would he ever explain -that- to his honored ancestors?

GAME: Cryosanthia rolls 1d20+11: (11)+11: 22

A sensation the goblin that was just engulfed must be experiencing tenfold. The goblin's head pops out, "What's going on!" The turkey gets up on bare wings and wobbles off as he struggles to free himself. A couple other goblins stop to stare, and blompf, another is eaten by a turkey.

It slips, somehow, on a loose cornerstone, belly flopping forward before bouncing back onto the drumstick legs.

He'd been holding his breath around the big one, and when he wheezes in, he catches a lungfull of the stink, and hurls on the dwarf even as he hacks up the chicken.

The three kobolds seem to have gotten their little globbler under control, wrapping it up in their trenchcoat and running off with it.

The goblin with a head sticking out of one, screams, "Ahhhhh" as the turkey runs straight for the giant one, and jumps into it.

Another goblin, recently engulfed, is beating at it unsuccessfully, while the rest of them are being trained around the streets by the other gobbos who are careful to stay a certain distance. There is a bit of a struggle going on, between gobbos after improvised weapons, and shopkeepers who don't want their stuff permanently borrowed.

A hobgoblin on a horse very carefully cut the turkey off the dwarf's head at a full charge. Impressive. There is a giant turkey in the ruins beside the magic place, and a sith'makar get pounded by it.

Tenoc delivers the vicious strike, spears flashing through uncooked flesh! But the response is just as brutal, if not more so--

The headless bird delivers a slam with its neck, a savage strike that sends the Makar sailing through the air, a flight all too brief with the intrusion of a brick wall!

Sliding down, the Makar struggles towards his feet, breathing heavily.... A struggle destined to fail. Tenox sags against the stonework, darkness stealing away to senselessness.

He lifts both hands, peering blearily towards the giant death turkey. "Re..." He coughs again, and grinds his teeth. Giving himself a shake, he lifts his hands again. "RE EX RE ANTU AKH ASCORIUS! HYARRRR!" A searing beam fires from his hands--and misses the enormous target entirely. The awning that had so recently saved his life bursts into flames instead. The giant turkey attempts to stomp on Gregor and his horse. A giant drumstick, made out of small turkeys slams down. Little arms and legs wiggle as the 'limb' misses the mounted hob.

Tenoc bleeds gloriously!

GAME: Randolf used a Wand of Magic Missile.
GAME: Randolf rolls 2d4+2: (4)+2: 6

His most powerful spell was a wash, but Randolf has plenty others in his arsenal. He reaches for his last weapon--the wand at his belt. He pulls it free and lifts it, narrowing his eyes. He sketches a quick pattern in the air with the wand. "RE EX RE UR EKISOS! HAH!" He snaps the wand forward, and a pair of blue orbs burst from the silvered tip, flying in a helix pattern to slam into the great turker. "Try an' make a stuffed dwarf o' -me- will ye?! BRING IT!" he roars, beard bristling and face red with pure dwarven fury.

GAME: Gregor rolls 1d20+6: (5)+6: 11

Gregor is fighting on bravely, avoiding the giant turkey's attack and slashing with his longsword while Traveller tries to bite the horrid thing. But neither he nor the horse seem to have the stomach to stay in close long enough to attack effectively.

"globloblbobloblboboblbobo" The little Globbler's cry, as they run around like... chickens with their heads cut off. Or in one case, a turkey with a goblin head.

"GLOBLBOLBOBLOGOLBLOBBLLBOLBO" The giant Globbler roars, continuing to try and stomp the rider nearby.

GAME: Cryosanthia rolls 1d20+9: (1)+9: 10 (EPIC FAIL)

It leans over, it slams its neck down, and then there's an unexpected burp of gas. Nauseating, disgusting, it firest the turko-gobbo it just swallowed out of its neck, except the turkey portion gets stuck.

The gobbo is free! He's just had the most disgusting wild carnival ride of his life. He runs into a house and slams the door.

Gregor, Traveller, are completely unscathed.

GAME: Randolf used a Wand of Magic Missile.
GAME: Randolf rolls 1d4+1: (4)+1: 5

Randolf crouches, ready to spring in any given direction. The last thing he wants is another turkey trying to fowl up his head. Waiting for the right moment to strike, he snaps his wand out again. "HYAR!" Another blue sphere lashes out and slams into the monstrosity.

Three little globblers are running about, still bothering the street gnomes.

Gregor keeps fighting on, he's determined, if still choking back nausea. His own attack is ineffective, the dry-heaves coming up just as he attempts his swing, but Traveller, without Gregor fouling him up, manages to bite it, though a nip like that doesn't count for much more than a nuisance.

Turkeys, everywhere.

Someone calls out, "Yer a mage aintchya? Fireball that Butterball!"

GAME: Cryosanthia rolls 1d20+9: (6)+9: 15

It's a slap fight of epic proportions, the giant globbler turkey of turkeys is wing-swiping and neck-slapping at the mounted hobgoblin. It fails to connect, doing little more than waving its stinking cloud around.

This is keeping back the onlookers, at least, all the ones that aren't invovled in the turkey chase.

GAME: Randolf rolls 1d4+1: (4)+1: 5

Randolf ducks to one side, then lurches forward on tiptoes, as a couple of the little turkeys go careening past. He whirls around as the gobbers chasing said turkeys nearly bowl him over. With a growl, he snaps his wand up again, firing another mystic dart into the beast. "C'MON, YE GOBBLIN' SHITE! FALL OVER A'READY!" he thunders.

Gregor manages to hold back the nausea long enough to concentrate on his fighting. He slashes with the long blade, delivering a solid hit, knocking a couple of the smaller turkeys out of the big one. Traveller bites it again, tearing flesh with a muffled whinny.

The little turkeys sense a disturbance in the force, as if several dozen butterballs cried out in pain. With a 'gobble gobble' here, and 'gobble gobble' there, they decide to come home to roost.

The little globblers break off from chasing goblins and start wobbling quickly back to the monstrosity.

The won't make it, this round.

GAME: Cryosanthia rolls 1d20+9: (3)+9: 12

The giant globbler is torn open from the hobgoblin's attacks. It seems almost peeled, a hollow shell with a swirling cloud of magic inside, its outer skin formed from turky after turkey stuck together like a quilt.

It sways on its drumsticks, sweeps a bare wing at the horse and his rider, and almost topples over from the damage and the imbalance that has caused.

GAME: Randolf rolls 1d4+1: (1)+1: 2

Randolf goes to fire another missile from his wand, when he's force to duck aside and dodge little turkeys zooming back the other way, this time chasing the gobbos. "Hammer an' anvil, this is enough! HRAAGH!" He sends another mystic dart slamming into the unravelling Great Gobbler, but it's not very effective.

GAME: Gregor rolls 1d20+5: (10)+5: 15
GAME: Gregor rolls 1d20+6: (8)+6: 14

Gregor fights on, but the nausea spoils his attack, and he dry-heaves just in the middle of his swing. This makes his attack less than effective. Traveller is a bit skittish as he shifts his balance due to the heaves, he can't find a place to bite, it seems. "Steady on, old friend," he tells it through clenched teeth. "Just a bit longer."

The remaining three little Globblers continue their bouncing run towards the large one. Spring! Sproing! Sprung! One at a time they launch into the huge rent that Gregor put in the larger... conglomeration... turkey.

The magic cloud puffs out around them, and it seems to be reassembling.

With renewed vigor, the giant turkey slams its neck stump down on Gregor, and sucks him right off Traveller. If it was gross outside, it's worse inside a clammy tube made of dead, featherless fowl. It reeks, it's slimy, and there is a roiling pool of giblets ahead that he's about to fall into.

Outside, all that is left visible is his feet.

GAME: Randolf rolls 1d4+1: (3)+1: 4

Randolf gapes as Gregor is gobbled by the gobbler. "Holy -shit-!" He whips his wand back up, launching another mystic dart at the thing. "Damn it, why won't you DIE?!"

All the little gobblers have vanished.

Gregor and Traveller keep fighting on. Scouts aren't known, normally for tenacity. The normal narrative is about light cavalry breaking under pressure. But Gregor always -wanted- to be heavy cavalry, which is often noted for standing fast under pressure, and Gregor and Traveller do so. in Gregor's case, with his head swallowed by a giant turkey, but swinging weakly with his sword at whatever he can reach, while Traveller's teeth rip and tear flesh.

With the hobgoblin swallowed and heading for the stuffing experience of doom, the giant globular globbler waddles forward, wafting its unrelenting stench towards the dwarf. The reek fills the street at it looms over him.

The thing, discounted Traveller. The loyal horse gnashes his teeth deep, and rips.

And it works.

The turkeys unravel, they fall to the ground. Gregor, feeling the crushing press of them breathes sweet release as they go limp, and plop. Whatever animated it, them, seems to have subsided. Even the strange glow in the butcher's is gone.

The holiday may be lost, but the day is won!

GAME: Gregor rolls heal: (9)+0: 9

Gregor rises, shakily, to his feet and looks around. "Is everyone OK?" he asks. But he sees Tenoc, and will head over to see what aid he can give. It's not much, he's got no talent for it. He looks to the dwarf, or anyone, "Can you help?"

Kicking the 'lazy sack of scales' is not first aid. Even if first aid in Alexandria is usually kick Get up before you effin' die!.

The butcher comes over, kneels beside Tenoc. She goes to work on the sith. Fixing him! Not dressing him down. Though it is unsettling to consider where her anatomical skills come from. Goblins eat reptilians, don't they, when no one is watching?

The welcoming darkness receeds, the sounds of the street and light impinging on the warrior's senses. He's awake. He feels terrible, but he's awake.

"You owe me a silver," The butcher woman says.

Randolf staggers back as the stench hits him, doubling over and resting his hands on his knees. He gags and retches--fortunately, there's nothing left for him to heave up. He raises up, wand-hand tremoring as he focuses to unleash another blast--but the brave horse finishes the job. With a groan of relief, the burly dwarf staggers back to lean heavily against a bit of shop corner. "Thank Reos," he mutters, rubbing his face. His hand comes away sticky with turkey-goo, and his face turns pale. "EEEYU-HU-HU-HUH!" He furiously scrubs his palm against his kilt, shuddering with disgust. With a grunt, he heaves back to standing, looking around. "Hammer an' anvil, what a mess." He gestures angrily towards the shop. "I -told- 'im, didn't I? I fuckin' well -told- 'im! If ye cross the streams, yer goin' te wind up wi' an arcanomechanical supercharge, an' that leads te a thaumiform phase array, an' LOOK WHAT HAPPENED!" Shoving his wand back into its holster, he goes to snatch his fallen axe and dagger from where they fell, shoving them into their holsters as well. Snarling and spitting profanity fit to make any sailor worth his salt blush like a schoolgirl.

Tenoc had such woonderful, tasty, delicious dreams.... Which makes regaining conciousness before a beady-eyed butcher all the more jarring.

Wordless, he reaches into his pouch. Heedless, he draws aout a silver coin, passing it to the butcher's hand.

"This one will take the smaller birds," he intones. "The large one is... hsssk. Disagreeable to me."
