Yarth is going from agitated, to angry. The stinging attacks and spells continue. He can FEEL the strength being drained from him. His small arms are too short to reach Olek, much less attack. So he leans down and snaps at him. Perhaps the Khazad senses how close he came to ruin. Perhaps Verna will tell him later - who can say. But in any case the giant jaws fail to connect. His tail also misses. His expression turns ugly. He begins to suck in a deep breath. Is he going to cry...?

Merek keeps trailing the green lightning.

Olek fights on, slashing careful attacks with his axe, dealing two slashes with the holy adamantine blade, cutting into it, for what its worth. He snarls and mutters, shield up and axe flashing, his rage palpable, if not as effective as he'd like.

Verna makes broad, lifting and grasping motions with her hands, causing glowing chains to extrude from the ground in attempt to entrap the creature. Unfortunately, he appears to be far more nimble than his size would suggest and avoids them.

"Stop the giant gobber, they said!" Halani mutters as she aims punches and kicks at the monster's leg, opposite Olek and his mighty axe. "Oh no, someone is trying to control it, they said!" Her tone is biting, dripping even. Most of her blows don't even seem to phase the oversized gobber, though the last kick of her routine (and it is a routine.. it's almost like she's fighting a practice dummy, in some ways, on account of how it's so big she can't really go fo vitals) connects with /something/... the loud crack resulting from the blow certainly wasn't from her body.

Yarth's disproportinately narrow torso expands with the amount of air he's sucked in. Then he exhales it again all in a rush, turning his head from side to side. Mist billows out first from his mouth but quickly fills the area. Freezing mist that causes the sparse vegetation to instantly wither.

It's thin and doesn't inhibit vision, but something tells you that this mist is going to linger.

Merek lifts up both hands while he begins to chant, then lightning comes from those fingers to dance along upon that creature. The cold looks like it waves along away from him, those wings shifting along like a shield.

As the giant green abomination expells his winter fresh breath, Halani has little in the way of cover... until she realizes that cover is right in front of her. As the frost gets sprayed around, Halani ducks around the monster's leg, continuing to spin around as his aim passes by. Then, building on her successful kick from secconds ago, Halani starts pounding on that very same spot, as if trying to sever his leg with her fists.

Yarth narrows his eyes. The adventurers are braving the cold and continuing to fight. And hurt him now, he definately seems to be more cautious of them than before. He's turned halfway around by now (the poor Black Tentacles try to grab him gamely, but can't seem to hinder such a large and heavy target). This means it's easier to lean down and bit at Halani, but his jaws close on empty air once more. His tail however lashes out and knows Olek from his feet.

It is now Olek's turn! Verna is next!

GAME: Olek rolls 1d20+20: (9)+20: 29

Olek manages to get up swiftly, thanks to the magic boosting us, but the cold has him moving slowly, so that it's all he can do to take a single swing, and that attack is slow. Slow enough that it doesn't acually manage to hurt the huge monster, sadly, and he grunts in pain from his injuries.

Verna rotates the ring on her finger as she utters an incantation. Her other efforts have been less than successful, so now she must take a more hands-on approach. She subsquently moves into to reach for... no, no, she was not aiming for his incisors, and yet there they are... around her. Perhaps indirect options were feasible for a while longer..."Well, this is unfortunate..."

On the other hand, she has no issue making contact with his being.

Halani has to do a little more than sway on her feet to avoid the tail swinging by her... she actually falls backwards, nearly supine, catching herself on a hand and then pushing herself back up to take a swing. But Yarth has moved on since then, and when he snatches Verna up in his mouth Halani blurts, "Great dragon's whiskers!" She looks almost panicked, her flowing dance of a combat style stuttering to a momentary stop as she watches the beast rise with Verna in his mouth. Then she grits her teeth, squares her shoulders, and jumps back into trying to pulverize Yarth's knee and take him down like a large tree.

Yarth straightens up under the hail of attacks. His eyes first cross as he tries to focus on Verna who is trapped in his bite. Then his eyes begin to water as the corrosive patch begins to form. He tries to blink and then gulps.

Verna disappears from view.

Smacking his lips, Yarth bends again to try and bite on Olek, to no avail. His tail rises slightly for counterbalance, and then comes smashing down to slam into Halani.

This is very much NOT how Verna envisioned her day to proceed. Frozen? She attempted to account for that. Stepped on, she attempted to keep her distance. Eaten? Well, it seems that she should have stood by her second precept. Now she's in his gullet, and only by the graces of the prior fervent blessings, and via a small portion of her own lifeforce, does she conjure and immaterial helping hand. It is only a mild consolation that her prior magic is spreading to, she hopes, to melt his face to the skull.

Halani was too slow this time... she jigs left when she should have jigged right, and the tail collides with her like a freight wagon. She spins a few times in the air, then a few more times on the ground and in the rubble. On her last spin she regains her feet, however... if her failed fights in the colloseum have taught her anything, it's how to take a punch and roll back in. Once again her strikes some in at an almost blurring speed, though Yarth's hide shrugs most of htem off.

Yarth is swaying a bit on his feet. Lightning zaps him, and that growth on his face is spreading, and now burning horrificly. Blows rain down on his feet and something he ate disagrees with him. He is finding it hard to concentrate. He does manage to focus on the flying Merek though. A quicker intake of breath and then Yarth exhales, a veritable beam of frost that engulfs Merek and then continues on as far as the eye can see beyond him.

Verna could attempt to shoot or carve her way out. Possibly. Either is preferable to being digested and excreted. Moving is an issue, though, so she conjures a glowing khopesh to do her carving for her. All while the others continue to assault it and her spell finally completes its face-melting spread.

Yarth falls to his knees, tail twitching a bit behind him. The corrosive patch has spread over half of his face now. The outer edges of the patch smolder while the place Verna first touched him has by now melted. The gobber-kaiju sways a bit before falling on one side, one last thoom that shakes the ground for hundreds of meters in all directions.

GAME: Garak removes the timestop.

Timestop by Garak has left.

GAME: You remove the timestop.

Merek looks to the creature while it begins to take to the floor. He then walks up to it, while he takes a moment to shift acid into both fingers, beginning to sear away into it, "Could you all assist?" he asks.

Olek slumps as his rage fades, shivering with the cold as he tries to recover his wits about him. "Well done."

Halani is breathing somewhat hard... the tail blow that crunched into her crunched into her hard.. but she's quickly scrambling over the fallen Gobber to see first if Olek is frozen solid or not. He's not. "Quick! Cut her out! She'll suffocate!"

The combination of searing and hacking from without is joined by that from within as the tip of a glowing khopesh breaches the barrier and cuts along the layers of abdominal muscle. The incision is just enough to allow Verna to step, slip, and/or stumble from the innards of the felled beast.

If there was any question as to how much of her silhouette was volumous robes and how much was her, the answer is revealed to be predominatnly robe as she now appears quite similar to a long-haired feline in the midst of a bath. Not to mention just as delighted.

"That was ... decidedly unpleasant."

Olek looks up as Halani exclaims about helping her out, and he gets moving and hacks at the body with his adamantine waraxe. He's hurrying, as he says, "No one's getting left behind!"

GAME: Merek casts Holy Smite. Caster Level: 10 DC: 18

GAME: Merek casts Fireball. Caster Level: 9 DC: 18

Merek looks to the body of the creature, then he steps forward, with a nod. "Well, it doesn't look like he can be changed back. To be sure that this doesn't become an issue," he then lifts a hand while he brings divine energies along with a nice full fireball upon the being. Then to Verna, a nod, while he looks to Olek, "Yes, we need to free them, they can't use it in their study anymore anyway." A look to Halani.

Olek adds, "Should we go after the goblins that were trying to regain control of it?"

"I, for one," Verna notes while plucking a large chunk of partially-digested... meat from her robe, "am quite anxious to meet those who created ...that." She then proceeds to return her attire and person to some form of more polite decorum.

GAME: Verna casts Prestidigitation. Caster Level: 15 DC: 15

"No one did, it was created from a kid who ran away into Merkabah, transformed by its energies. I was there when it came into being," Merek mentions.

Olek wrinkles his face at the news about the goblin, and he says, "Hopefully there aren't any more."

Halani can't help herself.. she gags a little bit when she sees Verna, and nearly misses Olek and Merek's comments about the people stuck in the cave-in. She almost looks like she's about to offer Verna some help; she steps forward, lifts a hand... and then gags again, finding herself forced to look away. Finally she notes Merek looking at her. She swallows hard and then says, "What?" She continues to stare. "OH! Yeah. They were in a cave over there.. the monster caved it in."

Clearing the cave-in is difficult, but with the varied skills of the party not impossible. Soon the Goblins emerge. Or GoblinOIDs as the term is these days. For there are also a few orcs with greatclubs, and an Arvek with a glowing shortsword who fingers a ring - no doubt enchanted. They seem a bit shell-shocked by being trapped. And even moreso when they see the fallen kaiju. Very soon after they begin to cast wary looks at the party and offer eagerly to go their separate ways.

The party can return to the entrance to Merkabah. Soon word begins to spread that the gobber-kaiju has been dealt with. Some people claim that the gobber was not, in fact, the most dangerous thing to encounter in Merkabah. Others simply people don't believe it, whispering that no true kaiju is ever really dead. But most agree that he party did what many tried, and none before them accomplished.

<OOC> Garak says, "And that's a wrap...thank you all very much for taking part!!"

<OOC> Garak also echoes OOCly that was well done, very good tactics. :)
