Here, a large wooden structure has been built. Its somewhat eccentric yet elegant design suggests its owner may be of the arcane persuasion. To the side of the main structure is a small corral to for horses or wagons. Before the central building, a massive sword emerges from the earth. A sign upon it reads: "MITHRALA MERCHANDISE."

Inside is a small seating area with several comfortable chairs. To the back, an unobtrusive but businesslike sales counter, and two large signs. One asks patrons to please wait here and not disrupt those inside the lab. The other offers a lab rental at a very reasonable rate.

To the left and right are a large set of doors. The doors on the right lead to a large room which takes up most of the building. Several long tables are scattered about, many with small tool racks. A small forge sits off to the side. Unlike the average workshop, maps of celestial bodies and guides to the elemental planes line the walls. Large frameworks of brass, silver, and crystal occupy space between the tables. A large shelf dominates the far wall, the containers upon it sporting such labels as "wyvern bile," "sulfur," "tiger's tears," and other exotic items. A glass-covered hole in the roof, set with mirrors, offers direct sunlight, or moonlight, to shine upon various projects.

The doors to the left lead towards the direction of the mountains and what is reported to be a sildanyari-style ball room. Wizards.

During regular store hours, a young Llyranesi man, Belhan Mithralla, keeps an eye on the shop and the lab. When not cleaning or helping a customer, he can usually be found reading some book from the library.

Mikilos stands in the courtyard, not far from the gate to the road. The day is.... unplesant... hot. Humid. Still. A thick haze covers everything, and there are no shadows. The tall wizard chats with a second tall figure, this one of red skin and muscular build. A pair of gloosy black horns curve above his head, and dress is a flowing robe of dark grey.

In this sort of weather, it doesn't matter if one is freshly bathed or not, one is likely to be sticky quickly enough. Seldan is already sticky as he makes the journey up from the Temple District, blue eyes searching the few buildings up this far as if seeking something. He spots the pair talking, and stops short, blinking warily.

Victor strided up the mountain with the sort of tireless gait that his kind are known for. He's not winded because he can't breathe, but somehow he has contracted the infamous Black Plague and so he is visiting what he has been told one of the foremost arcane experts on the subject. But he comes to a stop when he sees the wizard is already in conversation.

Erendriel is going around shooting rocks with fire, but sees a gropu forming, and approaches to see what's going on. Seeing familiar people, she waves to them and comes closer. "Hello!"

Skribbles is also walking down the street, wondering why there are scorch marks on all of the rocks she's passing. She just chalks it up to the sun finally burning the entire planet down because it can. She takes another deep, watery breath and also spies the group forming. She walks over as well, at least to find some shade.

Mikilos gestures the the grand view.... or what would be a grand view if the thick haze wasn't blocking it. "I am sorry for the weather. It's typically a nice view of the coutryside, but no so much today." He shrugs to the red skined figure, who's eyes blaze like hot embers. "Quite alright. I understand weather can be unpredictable. But who are these people then?" As the group starts to approach, the pair turn to regard the arrivals, the elf raising a hand in friendly greeting, and the other looking with undisguised curiousity. <ignan>

Victor looks around at some of the others waiting to speak with Mikilos. Then he studies the figure who's already speaking with the wizard. "Some sort of Outsider, perhaps. However there is so much variation in their appearance that I can't determine precisely what type." Apparently the wizard is even more famous than Victor was led to believe.

Seldan studies the pair for a moment, then raises a hand in polite greeting. He's about to speak when he spots what he is looking for, and with a greeting for the others present as wel, he turns into the shop "Mithralla Merchandise".

Erendriel looks at both Mikilos and the stranger he's talking to. She can't undersatnd what they're saying, so, she just waves again, looking to each of them.

Skribbles has wandered into the area and then notices the shop. The unusual man speaking with Mikilos doesn't draw much attention from her, but the neat baubles and other things do. Shiiiiiinyyyyyy.....

Mikilos watches Seldan with a mild frown until Belhan, the shopkeeper, speaks up from inside. Turning his focus back to those outside, he nods to Victor. "Ladies, gentlemen, allow me the pleasure to introduce the sage Virkas, of the efreeti. He's been kind enough to come and assist me with some ongoing reseach. I was just showing him around, as best the weather permits. But anyway, what can I do for all of you?"

Virkas bows with the introduction, looking to everyone with the curiousity of someone who's never seen a half-elf, or a goblin, or a War Golem in person before. "Is please to make aquaintence."

Erendriel tilts her head. "Efreeti?" she asks, nodding up to the mentioned outsider, while listening to Mikilos. "I'm just wandering today, hello Virkas. I am Erendriel."

Skribbles looks up and smiles to the tall, red man. She gives a nod and a wave as she says, "Skribbles, Forge of Reos, and it's a pleasure to meet ya." She then looks ti Mikilos and shakes her head, "I don't quite know what I need yet."

Skribbles has left.

Victor inclines his head in a nod. "My name is Victor," he raises a hand in greeting for the efreet. Then he returns his attention to Mikilos. "I have heard you have researched the plague and wanted to compare notes." He seems to consider for a moment and then raises a hand in a makeshift calming gesture. "I believe I have taken the necessary steps to ensure I do not contaminate others."

Mikilos nods to Erendriel. "Genie of fire, like a Djinni, or Janni?"

Virkas blinks at the other names, frowning mildly, but nods to Erendriel himself. "Of land of fire, yes. Am visit of Prime Material."

Mikilos blinks, turning his focus to Victor. "...so long as the Ooze isn't rilled, should be safe enough. I had heard golems could be infected, but had not encountered one before." He considers a few moments. "That raises several questions, really... and I'm not sure where to begin. But yes, I've researched the Black Plague, but can't say I'm any closer to really understanding it."

From the sound of the discussion floating through the open window of the shop, whatever Seldan is looking for seems to be simple enough, and a transaction briskly conducted. The topic seems to be combat defenses that do not interfere with free movement, and before long, money changes hands. Satisfied, but with a considerably lighter purse, Seldan steps back out of the shop to rejoin the others.

Erendriel nods up to Virkas, and also to Mikilos. But mostly Virkas. "Very nice. I um... I could never survive in the fire. Yet." She then randomly shoots a little ray of fire at a rock. "But you can survive here just fine." The talk of the plague makes her visibly start, face scruching up, before settling down after a moment.

Victor turns his head at the fire. He moves away until he's on the other side of the courtyard from Erendriel, and then as far as he can from Vikras as well. "A precaution," he explains. He has to raise his voice to be heard now since he's farther away. But he shows no signs of unease at the akward method of communicating. "I also have questions," he seems to be adressing Mikilos again. "If this isn't a good time I am willing to wait, or to return later."

Mikilos considers a few moments before turning his focus to Virkas. "There is a sickness which has been plaguing the land. It's proven very resistant to treatment, though a cure has been found. I think the danger is minimal, but the artifical one is infected. I do not know how it might effect you, if at all, and would not wish to infect your homeland."

Virkas considers, looking to Victor a long moment, before shaking his head. 'Is bad risk. I will leave. Our work is curious. You is important. Contact when wish speak again.' The efretti bows politely to those present, before murmuring a few rapid phrases. His robe seems to ignite, burning the tall figure away to nothing in a few moments. <ignan>

Mikilos nods to Victor. "Now is fine. Thank you."

Erendriel takes a step back, to let Victor and Mikilos speak as they like, getting out of the way, watching Virkas before he vanishes completely. Every lick of fire.

Victor returns the bow, mimicing the efreeti's gesture almost exactly. He glances at Mikilos. "Thank you," he puts slight emphasis on the 'you'. He takes a few steps closer to Mikilos and then glances at Erendriel, gauging the distance between them. "My first question would be, is this a safe distance? I have been operating under the assumption that magic has to be sufficiently close - and powerful - to stir the plague into activity. Are their any other factors, such as the source of magic, or the type? I have not experienced an incident since I was infected, however I also have only been in proximity to a limited number of spells and magical effects..."

Mikilos nods to Erendriel before turning focus to Victor. "We don't know the details for certain. Erendriel and myself have both been infected, and were both cured. Myself by the divine spells of an inquisitor, her by means uncertain. But so long as you don't cast a spell, or have a spell cast upon you, it should be safe enough. There's only been once, so far as I'm aware, that the plague reacted to magic that was merely nearby." He frowns thoughtfully for a few moments. "...do you have lungs? I was of the impression the plague 'nested' there, for lack of a better term."

Erendriel looks between Viktor and Mikilos, taking another slow step back at all the talk of magic inflaming the plague. Hands behind her back firmly, she purses her lips. "I have no idea how it happened, getting cured. I have no memory of it at all."

Victor shakes his head. "I don't have lungs, nor do I breathing, although there are similar cavities in my chest that could potentially store air." He pauses and then adds, "There have been reports of Golems who whistle or play instruments that require exhaling." He tilts his head slightly to one side and then adds, "Given that I've never shown signs of the plague, I suppose it is possible that I am not in fact a victim. I would only test such a theory in the most controlled circumstances, of course."

Seldan, too, has been listening to the exchange in silence, his eyebrows climbing at the mention that magic riles the ooze. "Is there a means of telling for certain?" he asks, speaking for the first time.

Mikilos nods, and ponders. "A casting of Dispel Magic tends to rile the plague into attacking. It's more along the lines of being possesed by an ooze, than a regular illness. Part of why regular healing magics don't work. The ooze itself is dangerous, but not overly so. A few blunt objects or a bucket of soapy water typically do the trick, though the strain from Silvermoon seemed resistant to soapy water. Have you felt any different since being infected? Anti-magic fields cause the ooze to go dormant, but I'm not positive how they'd affect your own systems."

Erendriel takes ANOTHER Step back before saying "Yeah if it's inside you, someone should be able to find out if it's in there." Getting now in fact behind Mikilos, she leans to the side and adds "It's resistant to fire and even ice though."

Seldan has disconnected.

Mikilos says, "We can certainly run some tests, see if we can learn anything new. I have an area set up inside. basically a hollow in the rock, the lower part filled with soapy water, then the entire area sealed. Even an ooze can't easily escape."
