Morgan says as she flys in closer "keep it busy I need to prepair for a few seconds." said loud hoping people can hear and help. A bright glow or a light to white blue surounds her as she is making hand motions that is leaving marks in the air.

A portion midway down the worm's length twitches and shudders as Kravar strikes at it from the inside. Then his hand bursts out of the purple hide, fingers held together and palm stiffened like a spear. Immediately an invisible force presses out in two directions, widening the opening into a rent. When it's a large enough rent Kravar pulls himself free with a horrid noise like a boot being pulled out of the mud. He falls to ground on his backside. Ichor and blood stream off of his body like water, leaving him more or less cleansed of foulness. He shoots the worm a murderous look and then waves it towards him in a 'come here' motion. "TRY THAT AGAIN!"

As Kravar tumblkes from the gap out of the creature's innards, it's stinger lances against his armor, follow4ed by another attempt to pick him back up.

The massive creature has roiled back a little, but its reach is such that it's no matter for it.

This is no doubt not quite what Serene had in mind when she engaged with the worm, though being swallowed was definitely on the list of possibilities. Being left behind inside the worm's tunnel like a big worm poop isn't all that flattering either. But as the tunnel collapses, she's left with little time to fret over that. "I have you.." she tells Silver, wrapping her arms around his neck to try and keep him calm as the earth begins to squeeze... and then it abruptly collapses inwards as her and her griffon's bulk are no longer there to push back. The poof of grey smoke is buried in the earth... but its twin heralds the arrival of the paladin and companion some twenty feet in the air above the ground. The great griffon's wings snap out to halt his descent a moment after Serene manages to swing herself into his saddle before gravity can complete its pull of the pair.

Munch charges towards teh massive beast still above ground, his axe held high. Maybe not high enough, maybe a little too high, as it gets the worm's attention, and the metal man is gobbled up. "HA! You fell for my trap! ...wait, no, this totally isn't going to work out..."

Verna could point out that Paladins, golems, and other foreign objects could be choking hazards, even to very large, lowerplane-imbued worms. To do this, she calls upon the energies of another plane in attempt to suck the oxygen from it, and prevent it from respirating to replace it. In this, she is only partialy successful. If naught else, perhaps the outrushing of air through its maw might aid Munch's escape?

Stjepan rushes over to the Munch-muncher, cursing and swearing the whole time. He lines up his hit, then drives his sword at the gap between the worm's critin plates. It hits, but the blade twists in his hand and he doesn't get a good connection on the hit. His footwork is janky, too. Nevertheless, it makes a mark at least.

Watching first one, and then another, and then another still, of his companions go down the gullets of these monsters draws a scowl from Seldan, and he irritatedly pushes a soaked lock of hair out of his eyes. "Holy Eluna, aid me in seeing an end to these creatures!" he shouts, dashing towards the other worm with Reunion in hand, the weapon cheering with delight in the voice of a querulous old man as it sinks deeply into worm flesh. "I am MIGHTY!" it shouts.

Morgan hands move around her leaving blue runes around her in a dome around her almost completly. she was about to release the energy sees both as she flys between them. "Hsela." is the only word she says as the words turns in to a shield that expands in to a explosion hurting them but not as much she hopes. "I think they are strong against cold attacks."

Kravar wards off one of the worm's attacks - somehow. Before he has a chance to retaliate he's knocked off of his feet as another monster emerges. Kravar finds himself grabbed in its jaws. "This is getting ridiculous!" he complains, even as he balls up a fist and smashes it repeatedly into the creature's teeth.

The two worms, dangerous as they are, are now more or less flanking the group in their own way. They lack the intelligence to truly appreciate it, however.

The oirginal bursts through the earth, sending several of the adventures flying to the earth as it shifts beneath their feet. There, it snatches Kravar up and grinds him in its horrible maw.

The other, now nedled by Stjepan, turns and instinctively bites and stings aqt his rpesence, its massive flexible body brought to bear in horrible violence that rends and slashes bloodily.

Serene and Silver hover for a moment.. to catch a breath, to take stock of the battlefield. She sees the one worm... but she waits. And her patience pays off as the rumble in the ground turns into an eruption of the initial worm. "There!" she tells Silver, and he lets out his battlecry as his wings beat an he surges forth. Cut after cut, slam after slam, tear after tear, the two put gouge after gouge into the worm's fleshy hide. The divine assault finally overcomes the demonic strength powering the creature and as Serene pulls her holy sword out from its body one last time, the worm convulses and then slams into the ground.

Munch stops holding back, a potent mix of dangeous chemicals flowing through his veins. Mixed with the magical speed, the golems flashes and wizzes though the air, slicing at the worms hide.... but not quite piercing it.

Verna does not wish to be devoured, bitten, stung, nor even rolled over by one of the worms. She does not envy those who are, and sends her spectral hand to flit to Stjepan to channel some of her Mistress' power through it and stave off the ending of life. She believes it is not yet his time, and hopefully her Mistress agrees.


The dead worm's bulk collapses into coils. It starts to ...

... to smolder.

Stjepan straightens up, as Verna's healing takes hold. He staggers, though, from the stings. Still, he comes forward, sword whirling as he just sweeps into the body over and over. It's messy, desparate work.

GAME: Seldan casts Wall of Force. Caster Level: 15 DC: 22

Seldan is about to strike again, but the sound of crashing worm collapsing to the earth draws his attention away from his own target - for just long enough to see it begin to smolder. Stepping just a hair away from the worm he fights, he raises an ichor-stained, gauntleted hand and makes a series of swift gestures, then shouts an arcane phrase and sweeps his free arm across his body. Where his arm swept, between him and the smoldering creature, a near-invisible wall of purest blue-white flickering _magic_ appears, walling off the dead worm from the battle at hand.

Morgan focuses her to the remanding worm as her handstwine togeather as arcane words excapes her mouth as ten bright blue bolts all slams in to the demonic worm leaving some good marks. "I think that other dead one is going to explode." she says loudly.

Kravar is dumped out of the worm's mouth as Serene chops it down. He tumbles once in mid-fall and then touches one foot on the ground. Only to push off before launching himself at the remaining worm. Once again it manages to grab him in mid-air. But by now after experiencing this so many times in this battle, Kravar knows just what to do. He lines up his sword with the creature's mouth as it closes on him, and braces the hilt against a tooth on the opposite side. This makes the monster's massive bite force drive his blade deep into it's own mouth as it clamps down on Kravar.

Silver wings over to face the other worm.. but rather than pursue it, Serene guides the gryphon into the midst of the golem, giantborn and aesir... "Let her light guide your strikes!" she calls out, her sword held high... and through her, divine vengeance is channelled into the three warriors. She follows this with a wave of healing, mending their wounds.

Munch continues his weaponized hissyfit, now backed with holy power. Axe and flashing fangs seem somewhat more effective in tearing apart worm flesh, though there's still a heck of a lot left intact.

With Serene and the Seeress' power healing all, Verna can revert to her more official duties: namely bringing those that deserve such to their appropriate afterlife with all due haste. To that end, she sends a beam of negative energy at the remaining creature, negating a portion of its personal positive energy that is known in the vernacular as "life."


The original worm's corpse is starting to smolder more ... brightly. Cracks in its body starting to glow bright orange. Very bright orange. Power leaking out of it.

Meanwhile, the remaining of the apparently mated pair (whaaat) has now clutched Kravar in its teeth, pinning him there, while it's stinger lances Stjepan once more.

The wall of force that Seldan put in place absorbs much of the blast when it rolls out towards the adventurers, fortunately having been put in place betwene them, but the thing erupts in a pillar, no, a *gesyer* of flame and blood and ooze and *awful*. It splashes *everywhere*...

... and starts to smoke, smoulder, glowing again like it might just be ready to engage in a *secondary explosion* all its own, everywhere its touched.

Munch pauses for a moment as the first worm explodes, but keeps up his attack on the second, blade and fangs digging into to worm flesh, a massive slice of teh axe spilling out a....lung? Kidney? Sort sort of demonic worm organ. Looks important, whatever it is. And gross. It looks gross.

To say that Verna is concerned following the first monstrous annelid corpse detonation would be an understatement. She already has a wall spell of her own ready for when this one falls, albeit one of stone rather than pure force. Unfortunately, the creature decides NOT to fall. Well then.

She attempts a slightly modified alternative, instead directing mana in the vein via incantation and gesture at the creature, itself, rather than the air or ground around it. It lives in the earth, consumes things in the earth. Perhaps it devoured one too many boulders, as the creature begins to rapidly stiffen and harden as flesh is progressively fossilized from tailtip to its rather large, unpleasant maw. Perhaps it will not detonate, or it will become it's own encasement?


... it's a good question. But since its deceased, or at least its life force has stopped, the cracks in the stoine that memoralize its injuries start to glow.

And glow brigher. Meanwhile, the flame, and mini explosions from the other one, are conntinuing.

And before Seldan can turn around again, the creature before him turns to stone, and begins to glow. "Loremaster, the spell I asked of you - now is the time!" he shouts, looking around to make sure that all can retreat, and giving a hand to and freeing any in need of it.


Verna's eyes narrow as the new statuary begins to glow, then widen. "The effect isn't caused by it's death, but by incapacitation! It is a contigency! That implies they were changed intentionally... and that it is time to leave!"


Morgan says "Let me get us out of here first and we can come back after a nights rest." with that said she swoops down with the group and says "origatoi itrewic ekik di tenpiswo." the field of view changes as the rocky area changes as they are two miles away.


So... good news, everyone!

You teleported away at Morgan's insistance! But you're not so far enough away that you can't see the sky positively /light up/ with explosive fire at one point.

That pillar of flame must've been the result of the second worm joining with the continuing energy rpovided by the first.

A return trip later will show that the area is awash in ash.
