The Source (Part 2)
The lake of water is rising up from the back menacingly, two ...things... are clamoring over the ground toward you as fast as they can. They look wet and sticky and grotesque but they move much quicker than it seems they should be able to. Much faster than the ponderous weight of sparkling black water that is rolling toward you.

Head tilting, Boshter reaches into his pouch and pulls out...
..is that a bar of soap? Really? Yes, it is. He gingerly tosses it towards one of them, aiming to see how they respond to.. being.. soaped.
As the things are stumbling toward the group Kore takes a half step further forward and takes up a combative stance. Fists at shoulder height, feet shoulder width apart. She takes a deep breath, drawing some sort of sigil in the air with her fists, and a wreath of blue flame with hints of black washes over her entire form. It gutters, casting brilliant sparks as it envelopes her. "Can you identify those- things?" She'll call out over the sound of rushing water. "We should probably run."

Gnashing his teeth, Rae stares at the two approaching slimes, then looks to his Staff. "Havok. Same spell as before." 'Yes sir.' the Staff gravels out before he begins to chant himself. Rae looks back to Boshter and Kore. "Don't stand there you two....RUN! I can't stop that wave!"
Then the two slimes become sludge, and Rae turns to fly away. "Thank you, Havok."
"...but.."
Boshter doesn't WANT to turn, but he turns and heads the same way as the others. Running is bad! That seems to be his expression. Full disappointment, here. "I COULD PUNCH THE WAVE APART!" he informs them.
Kore glances at Raethon and nods, then whirls on a heel and breaks into a smooth sprint The Monk runs easily cross the soft ground, her feet hardly digging into the surface as she sprints across it toward the far end of the beach. "Boshter! Have you actually /punched/ a wave? You need to freeze it first. Then you punch it apart. Otherwise it just... Flows back."
Kore's a monk. She can talk normally while sprinting. It's just a gift she has.

The wave leans forward and then... just falls directly on top of Raethon who happens to be in the lead of you all having gotten a head start on the running.
Despite trying to leave first, Rae happens to be the slowest of the group....so he's nailed by the wave of slime. Now he's trapped....and he has no way out...cuz he can't speak.

Kore had been doing her best to catch up with Raethon as they sprinted across the shores, blue eyes studying her companion. Then a shadow fell over her. "Oh no... It's faster than we are! We-" The wave crashes down at the Wizard and water sprays across the Monk's face. She gasps softly as the caster disappears.
"Don't try to cast! I'll get you out." The shouts are probably muffled by the water. The little Monk taking a flying leap off of a stone, however... That's a littl more obvious. She crashes through the wave with an arm extended, grasping for the Wizard as she's going past. Somehow, some way, she manages to get his arm and drag him free of the water. She's a lot stronger than she looks.
Hopefully, they don't both get swept up next.
Given that the others, namely Boshter and COnstantin, have gotten further away when Rae and Kore get sucked up by, and then closer to the wave to free the former, Boshter stops and turns and darts back towards them.
He grabs Kore by the back of her shirt and lays a hand on Rae's head, grabbing his hair. One step toward the wave and... then they're further away.Back closer to where Boshter was when he started his journey to grab them. "GO GO."
The wave makes one last effort to reach you, but you're too far away and it's much slower now that it's initial inertia is gone. It's quite large after all. Even so it's still after you. Saying in sight as you run away as quickly as you can.

"This is getting tiresome." Rae says as Boshter dimensional steps them out of harm's way. "Keep ahead of it. I'm gonna try one last spell." He says as he points his staff at the 'wave'......and utters a spidery incantation.
A section of the wave drops off from the mass, splashing water everywhere. It rushes forward underfoot in the way water does to equalize, but the rest of the wave remains looming behind you.
Kore continues her run when Boshter releases her, flashing the other Monk a brief smile of thanks. "I wish I could say I had studied how to deal with attacking gigantic waves but they didn't cover this one in seminary," the Monk breathes. She'll nod appreciatively when Reathon's spell drops part of the oncoming wall of water. "...Is it a *lot* of spells for animating water...?" She'll suggest in a curious tone. Not that there's much to be done for it. Kore keeps running.
Raethon says, "No. From what it looks like, I'd need an anti-magic field for something like that. We need to find who is creating this stuff."
"Perhaps I can kick the wave?" offers Boshter as he moves along after Kore, running but keeping pace with Raethon to make sure he doesn't get sucked up again.
"Perhaps we lead it to a cistern where we can trap it! Sewers have little pits in them, right?!"
Raethon says, "Actually....that'd be a great idea. Using blades will only multiply it, stabbing it does nothing, but blunt weapons really really hurt it. Only magic makes things a lot worse, so I'm a hindrance to you guys by being here.""
...Raethon didn't need to say another word. Boshter has turned on a dime to go flying back at the 'wave'.
"...Boshter." A beat. Kore turns with him. "We get to /punch the wave/." Even soft spoken Kore sounds a bit excited. She prepares to join the other Monk in a charge.
Raethon turns around in mid-air to watch the pair of them run back. "I had a feeling you'd go back."

The wall of water takes a whack at Boshter, but he's a little too fast for it.
Raethon, keeping far away from this wave of slime, just sighs. Right now Boshter and Kore are the best weapons against this, and magic would only make it worse, as he said.

Constantin keeps his distance, putting away his sword and unlimbering his bow. He draws and fires, aiming high to keep the sharp poky things away from the backs of the monk's heads. They hit twice with audible PLOOP noises.

Boshter lets out a yell and swings towards the wave.
Really.
His foot crashes into it and then with a ferocious series of punches and kicks he... punches and slaps water.
"I USE TO TRAIN THIS WAY," he yells loudly.
And then the ooze falls on him.

Rae grumbles a little and has his staff turn to the slime. "Havok. it's time." 'Yes sir'. It gravels out......and the scarily nasty hissing sound of a disintegration beam fires out onto the slime.....and the slime gets a LOT bigger....before it explodes...and washes Rae further down the sewer...
"...ahhh!!!!" Boshter is screaming.
...screaming with joy, that is. This is FUN!
Constantin grabs his bow, and goes along for the ride -- mouth pressed shut in a firm line. He doesn't need that water inside him, no thank you.
"Punching waterfalls used to be BORING!" Kore will call out, screaming in unison with Boshter. No one has ever heard her be this loud before. And then she's laughing as they are washed away.
