The air of solemn, heavy divinity in the area is often broken by laughter. The dual presence of the deities Althea and Daeus, man and wife, stand towards the center, with their children and their children's temples positioned around them. The presence of the divine is felt not only by their temples, but also by the actions of their worshippers. The great plaza is as a social center, paved in brilliant, white flagestones and covered in benches and sitting areas. Priests, acolytes, and servicefolk of all stripes roam the plaza, going from one task to the other.
At the front of the temples of Daeus and Althea, at the Plaza's centermost point, rests a great fountain, the cheerful waters reflecting the Sun during the day, and the Moon and Stars at night. The fountain is strategically centered, and is oft a place for wisdom and lesson-giving. It is not uncommon for a priest of some stripe or the other to stand there, surrounded by the curious and faithful, delivering messages of hope or contemplation. At other times, it and the plaza become a landscape of celebration of the holy holidays.
Few vendors are seen in the plaza--the nearby temples provide most food or services. Towards the west, the great Bridge stretches across the river, and towards the east, the Redridge mountains. The plaza rests in the midst of it all, the temples massive and grand on the Alexandrian scale.
Cesran nods, "Yes it was quite a plan, I'm glad that it went off before we had to hurt the mob of people. It was quiet a sensation. I've never felt anything like that before and probably won't ever feel that again. It was a rather special night." He smiles, "I'm glad to hear that you are healing up. I wonder what will be next for this city." He glances to check on the unseen servant that's whisking a broom around.
Elessa sighs and nods, "It was amazing, and yes, if we feel it again in our lifetimes then we should be lucky. Hopefully things will be quiet for a while, the city doesn't need so much attention all at once. And it gives us all a chance to recover, collect ourselves again." She manages to make a nice pile of smaller dirt and debris. "Though you said you had a lot of good protection spells. Would you happen to know how to make items with those spells for other people?"
Mikilos enters the plaza, leading a small group of students from the College to assist with the clean up efforts. Now that the danger is mostly past, they can get away with things like useing minor spells in practical clean up detail, and call it Extra Credit.
Cesran nods, "This city seems to be a hot bed for such activities. From the real mists, which I wasn't here for, to the fake mists, which I was, something is always going on in this city, but that's not too surprising." He hmms, "That depends are you looking for armor? Or an item like this?" He holds up his arms and he has leather bracers on them, 'Or a ring." He holds up the ring. "I can enchant armor and make you a ring, but I have not yet decided to learn how to make items such as my bracers."
Elessa points to the ring, "The ring would be helpful. I have pretty good armor, but a ring would be nice. I got paid for helping with the past few days and decided I should get something. And something to protect myself would be really nice, especially fighting against that evil version of the paladin. That was not fun in the slightest. Glad the real one had that book." She looks over to notice Mikilos and his students arriving, giving him a friendly wave.
Mikilos waves back, taking a moment to set the students to various tasks before heading over to the pair of familiar faces. "Greetings and salutations. How are you two recovering after last eves events?"
Verna descends the mountain road from the monastery. Her pace is slowed from its standard unhurried to a more weary stride. It is said that there is no rest for the wicked, but this also extends to those who tend to their victims, living and not.
Cesran smiles, "I can make a ring, if you would like a minor enchantment on it I can make it for you for 120 pp." He smiles, "Yah I was a bit worried with those clones running around. Makes you wonder how many other clones there are. How would you know if you are a clone." He looks to Mikilos, "Hello Mikilos, I'm doing all right how are youd oing?
Elessa smiles at Cesran as he mentions he can make her the ring. "I would love to have something like that, and I have the coin for it." She smiles at Mikilos and nods, "Yep, going to have some nice scars from it, but stories that I can share with my family when I see them again. They'll never believe I was here for the final stand against the Azure Queen."
Mikilos nods, and frowns mildly. "I'm reasonably sure a clone knows it's a clone, but not being one, I'm not positive. Then again, the ones I've witnessed were... less than full quality. I took off after some imps trying to fly away with a child, missed a fair bit of the excitement."
Verna moves towards several familiar faces. "Excitement would be an understatement, I believe," she opines to Mikilos' comment as she nears.
Cesran smiles, "Hello Verna. Well if you'd like to pay me now I can get you a ring in a day or two. Any designs you would like on it or just a plain band?" He smiles, "Still it was quiet amazing the whole city singing at the end."
Elessa nods and stops in her cleaning in order to get to her money and pay Cesran. "A simple band will just be fine. Want to keep things simple to make sure some of my... associates don't get things in their head to take it from me," she winks. When you're a thief, you expect all thieves to think the same way, which most of the time they do. "Oh it was definitely exciting, and I think that was through the whole city, not just here."
Mikilos nods in agreemnt, eyeing the Tarien Temple. "I wonder if they've made any real plans on the rebuilding? HAve any of you been inside yet? I'm not sure just how extensive the internal damage is."
"I have not ventured inside," Verna notes, "but I know that it will require many new windows and a replacement roof." As would anyone else in the city.
Cesran nods to Elessa, "A simple band it shall be then. It's understandable I favor simple things myself." He smiles, "I hope so and I'm sure there will be no shortage of helping hands. I do wonder what last night's party was like though. Ah well, perhaps another time."
Elessa shakes her head at the question of going inside, "I don't dare go inside. Seeing the damage we see here, I don't trust something to not fall on any of us." She looks at the others, "Though yes, to be inside must have been amazing... before it all blew up."
Mikilos nods, and shrugs. "I've offered to help with the rebuilding, though no one of authority was concious to reply. I think it might be a good oppertunity to add some new features. Like putting all the pews on the new ceiling."
Benthus has arrived.
Verna glances to Mikilos. "That is an interesting option, but it may not be enough to encourage them to sit upon them. As I understand, they are only still when unconscious."
Cesran hmms, "I've never been to a temple of Tarien, but they don't strike me as the kind of place to have pews, but I could be wrong." He shrugs.
"On the ceiling?" Elessa asks Mikilos with a question. "Why would they be on the ceiling?" she asks curiously.
Benthus walks about half-naked and almost covered in blood. His breast plate is gone with only some straps and pieces of metal platings covering one of his shoulders to show that it was there. He drags his great sword behind him, the scabbard having gone missing. He looks confused but is otherwise well.
Mikilos shrugs with Cesran, and grins to Elessa. "I take it you've never come back to a room with all the furniture having been moved around in your absence. Such as everything glued to the ceiling."
Cesran chuckles, "That would be quiet a trick to play on them and I'm sure they'd appreciate it. If anyone would they would."
Elessa shakes her head at Mikilos, "No, I haven't had any sort of experience like that," but she giggles at the thought of it. She hears the chiming of some bells. "Damn it, I need to get going. I'll come see you in a couple days for that ring Cesran, you all have some fun." She leaves her broom with others to be used for cleaning, leaving without even seeing the quite beaten up Benthus.
Benthus says, "So that's it. We won."
Vekson has arrived.
Elessa has disconnected.
Mikilos grins, and nods. "likely, but I doubt can get a ceiling put in and stuff glued to it in time to trick the priests. But, having the whole scancturay turned upside down for visiting worshippers, I think we could manage." Eyeing Benthus a moment, the elf nods. "Aye, the day is won, the city saved, and most of the ill effects removed. Far too many dead, but fewer than might have been."
Cesran nods to Elessa, "I'll see you then." He looks over to Benthus, "We did, but you look like you need to get cleaned up. Did you pass out before or after the singing?"
Benthus arches a brow, "Singing?"
Mikilos grins, and nods. "The Hymn. Much of the city, that still up and kicking, anyway, joined in. It was... quite the experience."
Benthus still looks confused, but he sets aside his curiosity for a more appropriate time. He looks around the area. Quite the battlefield it has turned out to be. "I guess I missed out on a lot of things." He turns and looks at those present, "You all look well."
"Billy Moonson! You spit that out right now!" Mikilos sighs, glancing back to the other two. "Excuse me, it seems the students need a bit extra supervision. I swear, that kid's part otyugh..." The wizard heads off to oversee the youngsters tasked to aid with the clean up for extra credit. "Lenoard! Stop daring him to eat things for money! No, it doesn't help if he does it for free!"
