Their Languages
The world of Gaea teems with life. From the mysterious elves who live between the veil of the spirit and the flesh to the nomadic giants of the northern lands, to dwarves born of the elements and touched by stone, fire and lightning, the people of Gaea are diverse, gifted and touched by the destiny. Many races have come to some measure of civilization in the world and nearly all of them have a role to play in the ongoing tapestry that is the story of the Emblem of Ea.

Languages
Today, though humans dominate the landscape of the Great Continent, they share it with a number of other races and cultures. Some of them are hostile to humanity and others walk with them on their search for greater truths and a unified future. In addition to the complex cultures held by the various enlightened races of the world, humans often find themselves divided along lines of nationality, religious beliefs and geographical location. The numerous sub-species of humans are just as diverse, in their own way, as the many humanoid races that populate the vast landscape of the known world.

When crafting your character, keep in mind their beliefs and where they came from, as these will shape who and what they are. Note, too, that we are somewhat firm on racial height and weight. The tables in each racial entry exist largely as a starting point. You'll want to adjust them for varied physical stats. A character with an 18 strength weighs more than one with a 9, for instance. 120 lbs and slender probably isn't a realistic weight for most adventurers.

ArvekNar.png
Arvek Nar
Legendary warriors of staunch discipline, the arvek nar now march towards the Dawn and forge old traditions into new. The recently arisen goddess Serriel is said to be inspired by their fervor.
Lucht.jpg
Lucht Siuil
Known in the trade tongue as the Traveling Folk, they hail from large families, and their feet never stay in one place for long due to an ancient curse.

Egalrin.png
Egalrin
A race born from thunder, who fought off the yoke of Caracoth. They now embrace the storm within, and find peace within its thunder. With the strength of their twin gods Cernan and Ceiwen behind them, they are warriors, guardians of the Sky.
Humans01 veyshanti.jpg
Humans
The most populous race of Ea, they wear many guises.

Giantborn.png
Giantborn
Descendants of giants, the strongest of these are said to lift mountains. Though nominally reclusive, they are as varied as their many lodges.
Khazad.png
Khazad
Staunch and strong, the khazad are "first in, last out" when it comes to recovering the world from Taara's folly and anything else. As a race, they are known for their forge skills which were called upon even by the halls of gods.

Gnome.png
Gnomes
Known for their brilliance as well as their obsessions, gnomes are found everywhere in the world. They seem to get along with most anyone. It's rumored that gnomes encouraged and developed many of the competing mage subschools, though modern wizards deny it.
Oruch.png
Oruch
In early times, the oruch say they were hewn from War and the Chaos ether. They roved as hordes until great Adom raised them on high, challenging them with concepts of honor and strength. Once, the gods themselves were their generals, and the oruch remember this fact.

Gobber.png
Gobbers
Inquisitive, inventive goblinoids whose willingness to try most anything has led to significant, if explosive, advances in artifice! Watch out if one's your neighbor! It is their race who brought firearms to the world.
Sildanyari.png
Sildanyar
The sildanyar say they are one of the oldest races in the world, blessed in magic and warfare, though it is uncertain if this is true. Infighting tore the race into three, however, ages past. Two took the mantle of guardians, one of mana and one of the wild, while the other fell to pride.
Half-sil.png
Half-sil
The offspring of a human and a sildanyar, they're known for their ability to get along with others and to make peace where others sow discord.
Sith-makar.png
Sith-makar
An ancient race of shamanistic dragonkin, they slowly emerge from their jungles to face a world vastly different than their own.

Half-oruch.png
Half-oruch
The honored offspring of a human and an oruch, they're known for their pride and fierce tempers.
WarGolem.png
War Golems
Creatures leftover from a bygone age who have slowly gained sentience and life. They vary widely, and may have been built for different purposes.
