GOOD NEWS, EVERYONE! After examining the basalt stucture, you departed the mine. Eventually, with further searching, you had located a collection of magicite crystals emerging from the earth west of town. Magicite is incredibly valuable and its presence here would mean renewed prosperity for the villiage in question.

Also, you're all so god damned tired.

Either way, it's /magicite/.

Heinrich asks the others, "You want me to work on digging out one o' these magic rocks? Maybe that'll draw whoever's behind this out into the open."

Sasha nods. "Go ahead, Heinspam....." She's so tired she can't even remember his name.

Hun'rar shakes his head "Seems like the thing for the miners. Still doesn't explain the lack of sleep or the ambient evil on the town. Maybe something evil was trapped and got released. Either way... we keep going much longer I am going to fall asleep standing."

Sasha says, "No idea what to make of it, Hun'farm. And I think we're all the same way...."

"There's money in dem hills." Kisaiya says as she tries to curl up about the magecite protectively. It's like she figures she can just sleep on it like a dragon with its hoard until the caravan she wants comes along.

"Money and... prices." Mumbled words as her eyes start to droop. Then they shoot open because OH GODS THE THINGS SHE SEES IN HER DREAMS! "AHHhhgh. Oh, the megicite, it's worth a good bit of money. People might be trying to clear out the competition. Caster maybe?" She curls back up around the magecite.

Hun'rar ponders "Its... that does make sense. Perhaps someone is driving the miners out. Someone tapped it recently, perhaps a ritual?" he says touching the stone. "Natural though, my money is someone in town."

Hun'rar whips around, drawing his sword. "What... who was that? Reveal yourself!"

Sasha is....asleep....standing up.....zzzzzzz

Kisa curls up around the rocks, then she shrieks as she sits up straight and looks around. One of her hands is clutching at her breasplate, clawing at the metal as she looks around frantically

Sasha doesn't hear anything except the sound of her snoring. zzzzzzz

"zzzzzzzzzzzWHAT THA FAHK!!!!!" Sasha suddenly wakes up and is swinging her staff from one end as she swings everywhere around her. She finally whacks a tree and she tries to chop down thw tree....with her staff.

Hun'rar rubs his eyes "Anyone... can anyone detect invisibility? This place is getting to us. Dangit, anyone else feel something? Like theres a presence here?" he adds, although it seems fairly clear.

Sasha says, "I cannot........."

Hun'rar grits his teeth "Well someone knew this was here and used it. Its most likely someone close to the miners. We need to find someone with magic abilities in the town. What I would do for a well educated wizard." he adds the last bit under his breath.

Kisa lays back down, curling up around the rocks again, "Lemmejustsleepanotherfive"

The magicite crystals are glowing light, rather suddenly, but then you blink and they're back to normal, as if they'd never been glowing at all.

This is rather frustrating.

Sasha keeps having long blinks.......so she doesn't really notice...

Kisa starts to doze off again, her body curling around the magicite again as she nuzzles her head into one of them. Yes. Yes. It would be such a good profit for her caravan. "Yay, Princess Kisa did good." She murmurs sleepily.

Hun'rar grows "Wake up, there is something here." Hun'rar says as he moves he slowly scans the room, sword and shield now in hand as he tries to narrow down on what evil he is detecting. "I sense evil."

Sasha says, "Uh......right...right. Where issit?""

You feel it again.

A nearness, a presence that's reaching rot you, touching you. It's mouth full of teeth, fetid breath on your faces.

And then it's gone. In its place, each of you sees... /something/. Something different. And it's grabbing hold of you.

Kisaiya looks over from her curled up spot about the minerals. She lets out a sigh of contentment, soon, soon her whole caravan would be happy with her. She smiles, and then she sees Serra. She sits up, her hair a mess and she sees her..

"Hey." Kisa says, a bit hesitantly, she doesn't remember the Blar Knight being here. "What's with the grabby hands. Why are you..." She trails off as Serra goes for her throat to choke her. All while saying how much she thinks Kisa is awesome, but that all fairy tales end with the princess dying.

Heinrich takes on a horrified look and swings his falchion at the guard, but shudders and misses badly. The hobgoblin knight actually weeps aloud, crying "Father!"

Hun'rar raises shield to fight... himself, only to see his own image transform into a terrible, titanic evil red dragon that breaths fire on everything before it. Hun'rar, the knight Hun'rar, can do little but cower behind his shield.

Sasha's rather blissfully dreaming about being in the temple of althea.....but it's not the same. The walls are blackened, like the aftermath of a fire. She looks about and sees......a woman near the altar. The woman whips around and points accusingly at Sasha. "YOU! YOU DID THIS! THIS IS THE RESULT OF YOUR FAILURE AS MY FAITHFUL!" Sasha.....sufficiently freaked out, stumbles back and hits her head on a nearby fountain....that's been destroyed by the fire.....

Each of you is confronted by something seperate. Something entirely seperate, but you're all somewht aware that something is happening to all of you.

All of the mare approaching you and you can see them, and you're all just so damn tired...

It's the nearness of Hun'rar that salves the situation.

In a sense, something is reading your fears, projecting them. After a moment, Hun'rar's vision seems to clear and before long so does everyone else's. Standing where the visions were before is a flabby, pallid creature, its mouth full of fangs and its quite naked. Thankfully, its also sexless.

Very thankfully. Becasue ew.

Still, it opens its distended jaw and /hisses/ at all of you.

"I... am a Warden, protector of the sacred and by Gilead's name I banish you from this place!" he launches forward towars the creature to strike deep into the grey form, his sword burning with green holy light. "The Green Hunter leads my path and in his shadow I shall know no fear. He " Hun'rar begins to recite prayers and mantras of his faith.

Sasha.....grits her teeth. "no....I have not failed her.......I WILL not." She growls.....and a spear lights in her hand. Despite her exhaustion, she throws the spear and it hits the heart of the.....tooth monster......and it's eyes glow brightly....

The creautre lunge into their attacks, maws open. They seem to be focusing on your face. Trying to steal your breathe. You can feel the oxygen leaving your lungs, though most everyone is able to avoid it. Except Kisa. She is left feeling breathless and afraid once more.

Sasha draws another spear and throws it into the same demon as before. The spear kills the demon, but it disappears into smoke. "damn...."

WIth one of their number having been killed by Sasha, or at least dissipated, the three remaining turn their attention on her. They lkeap at her, scratching and biting and clawing, but it's her breath they try to steal, pulled from her mouth in a cloud of vapor that seems to hang in there before being pulled back into Sasha.

Stepping back, Sasha puts a being of force between herself and the demons attacking her. The Angelic force creature uses it's own bill to attack one of the demons, and doing a good little bit of damage.

Kisaiya finally shakes it off again and starts in toward Sasha, seeing her companion is being attacked by the thing with the... "What the hell is that?" She says as she runs over with her Scythe. She swings at it, slicing into the creature with her heavy bladed weapon and actually doing it with a little grace.

A claw mark appears across Kisa's face where she's slashed and Hun'rar is struck too, but both of them resist having their breath stolen by the hissing, distended things.

Burying his blade in one's side, Hun'rar roars his frustration.

Kisaiya wasn't entirely sure what was going on and she was so very tired, it was just one thing after another and suddenly she was struck in the face again with that horrible slashing claw. It was Serra again and she looked at her. Looked at her hard, but she knew that if this was the real Serra, then there was one way to truly defeat her, one way that would just kill Serra and drive her away for good. Her scythe danced about, moving this way and that as it cut through the air as a blur of steel.

She would have to hit her in the head.

And so she did, the scythe archs through the hair with a push this way and that and with a lashing of steel that sliced cleanly through... the Ushanka lay in two pieces. Serra's weakness. That damned hat.

Heinrich laughs as he cuts the beastie another time. He says, "Yes!"

As the Spiritual Ally continues to attack the one demon, Sasha uses the distraction to move over and heal Kisaiya. She even lets out a yawn....

...with that, the last of them flee. They run, dissipating into nothing before long. Something feels... different here. A check by Hun'rar reveals that the evil has lifted... for now.
