Inside, this two-story structure has been almost completely opened up. Generous windows on both stories allow daytime sunlight and cooling night breezes to flow in as needed, while the brick walls have been whitewashed - contrasting with the dark-stained beams and supports, and the rich polish on the wooden floor. A broad strip of stone runs from the entrance to a framed doorway set into the opposite wall, with a sign above the lintel declaring that the baths are to be found that way.

The ground floor is sprinkled with tables and chairs of assorted sizes, offering welcome to guests both large and small. One whole corner of the building - into which guests are not permitted entry - has been given over to the kitchen, which serves as the domain of the famed monster chef Ligum Serforus. Mundane meals are available, but the chef delights in offering up obscure dishes made from the freshest of monster ingredients.

Opposite the kitchen a small bar runs in front of an array of shelves, displaying a broad selection of beverages (most of them alcoholic). The bar-top has been fashioned from what looks to have been old pieces of armor, fused and welded together before being polished to provide a near-smooth finish. Set above it, three human-sized statues have been built into an alcove in the wall: Tarien, Rada and Ceinara jointly keep benevolent watch over the room and its occupants.

To the right of the entrance, a small stage offers a platform for a handful of performers at a time. To the left of the door, a spiral staircase of wrought iron winds its way up to a balcony dining area, that is chiefly reserved for special events and parties.

It's a week-end evening in the TarRace. The place is packed. Not only is the week-end menu more extravagant, with exotic dishes, there often is live entertainment.

This one is no exception. The golem band, 'Band Name Here', is on stage and tuning up. Golem musicians are different from more biological ones. As they are often living instruments, their 'tuning' is more of a system test that involves minor adjustments than an effort to synch up with the others. As such, they're off in their own world. Their drummer, the Sith'Machine, is the only one performing what might be considered a regular instrument check. It is tapping the drum-kit, getting settled, and listening to the other members.

Servers are circulating, and there is the quiet hum of conversation.

Seyardu was taking some time to herself to recover from recent events, doing less at the Althean temple. But it was hard to find ways for her to occupy her time, and so she found herself at one of the tables in the pub. Curious, she flagged down a server for a change, and purchased a drink for the show, while she decided on what to do for a meal, offering a wave to the band on stage.

"-- don't get it; I said 'a social construct.'" Jinks says, apparently repeating himself for emphasis as he gestures towards the golems on stage with a flute of something mostly-clear and bubbly. He's amused. Her? Not so much. The gnomish lady's puff of curly green hair bobs subtly as she shakes her head and moves away from the bar. Jinks gives a sniff of subdued annoyance before his face is once again devoured with a smile inspired by his own joke. "You'll laugh when you get it," he mutters to no one in particular. Chuckling and pushing a few stray hands behind his ears, the little fellow turns from the One That Got Away and surveys the crowd.

Already settled in, Aryia was sipping at a drink and with Seyardu at the table. She waves to the band, mostly to her friend in the back. The scarred mul closed her eyes and rested back against her chair.

Sabina descends fro mthe upper level of the Tarrrace where a large party of luchts are celebrating. From the sounds of jibes and friendly banter there is likely a birthday or two requiring a party. Not that most lucht need an excuse to party. It's a day that ends in 'y' after all.

Her mithral coyote half mask is in place, wide smile plain to see as she shakes a finger at a luckt that reached out to make pass at her. She's still chuckling when her feeet are firmly on the main floor. She peers about the place and finds things good, nodding slightly to herself.

Morgan comes walking in from the bar with a drink in her hand "Well the hard stuff is not good for me, but well why not." she then looks for a place to sit down and to see the people around her.

The front... unit of the band, gender is always an awkward subject with golems, steps up to the mic. There is a static hiss as it adjusts it's vocal settings then it says, "Good evening biological entities! I hope you're enjoying your fuel consuption. We're here to provide musical entertainment. Panflute is providing brass, wood-wind and resonant tubing; Stringbox over here shall be replicating stringed instruments. In the back on drums is the Sith'Machine, and I am 733 Vocalizer Unit. We are 'click' Band Name here 'click' and your entertainment for tonight."

It taps at the mic-stand, "One. Go!"

An oddly melodic industrial screaching commences. Punctuated by some drums.

Seyardu was listening to the music, sipping on her drink. It was already a few in, and she was feeling some of the effects.

"What do you think of the music, Aryia?" She asks. "I haven't heard enough to compare it too, but I find it enjoyable. And the drinks, they are nice. They made good suggestions, I think."

Morgan kicks back in a seat listing to the music "this is ok but seems to be missing something." mumbled to her self. She then downs her drink "Ahh yes booze makes things better some times."

Aryia slowly sips on her ale, feet propped up on the table with a foot tapping in the air to the beat Knowing the sith-makar was looking at her, the mul gave a thumbs up, somewhat buzzed. "It's interesting. I'm surprised you're drinking, since you were wary of it before." <Handspeech>

Bina hmms softly and her head tilts to one side as if appraising the music for herself. She must find it acceptable for she shrugs and starts to move about and visit each table, checking in with folks she knows and deosn't, making sure they're happy.

The third table she comes to is that occupied by Aryia and Seyardu. "Hello! And how are things this evening? Are the drinks to your liking?" The hostess at work.

"I feel, I wisshed to give it a chance. I do not ssee it as a solution for everything that happened, but a day to relax is good. Though I have heard it is not a good habit." The silver sith'makar replies, turning to Sabina and smiling. "Yes, the drinks are good, they were suggested to me. Would you have any recommendations after this one? I would not mind ssomething to have with a meal tonight."

The music starts up, high paced with a solid beat. The vocals are distorted to the degree where it sounds like the words might be from any number of languages. Mostly it's fast and reciprocal.

Jinks squints into the half-distance, tilting his head to one side as the band strikes up. Listening like a hunter crouched in the undergrowth seeking prey. Critical. After a few moments he's bobbing his chin in time and then drains the flute in one bacchic go. He replaces the glass on the bar and wiggles his fingers in the air, producing a crown and catching the barkeep's eye with the same flourish. He then unbuttons his coat and climbs a stool, taking a seat and turning to watch the metal men have a go of it.

Merek takes the time to put on his dark attire, from the wrist to the hem of the shirt with the patterns. The man seems to be content to find a nice place to settle into while he nods to people which he knows, then he will make an order of whiskey when he waves to whoever is on duty, smiling to Sabina. The man listens to the music.

Morgan makes a few hand motions as a new drink comes to her hand "oh does mead mix with whisky... I will find out." she then starts to drink.

The scarred mul looks over at Sabina, her giving a thumbs up and a nod. She taps her drink with a hand and holds a finger, asking for another one. "It's a nice way to relax," Aryia agrres. <Handspeech>

'Band Name Here' moves into their next song, a common one in their rotation which contains a repeating count-down with the occasional words, "Extreme. Powerful."

Bina chuckles to the silver sith and says, "I would sugjest a 'fireball'. Severl harder liquors with cinamon added in for a spicy flavor." She turns to Aryia and nods to her gestures for another but frowns slightly at the hands speech. "I'm sorry. I have yet to learn the finger tounge. But I will most certianly get you another drink." She looks up and over, locking eyes with one of the servers and pointing to Aryia. "I'll check back in with you in a while." She gives them a smile and moves on to Morgan. "Ahhh.. Morgan. How are you this evening? Experimenting?"

"Fireball, that ssounds good! I do not know how sspicy I would find it, but I like the flavor it adds to things. Now I will need to figure out a thing to have with it. Aryia was just ssaying she likes drinks for relaxing, I can maybe translate if needed when you get back." She continues, more of a lisp sneaking into her speech.

She did not look the best, and a good meal would likely be a good idea.

Morgan shrugs a bit "I stayed 9 days in the libary and enchanting something for a friend. I needed to get out as the item started to talk to me." the later you can tell she is joking or at least you hope. "But I promise no spell casting if I get drunk."

Jinks turns with his back to the bar after obtaining the replacement drink, humming a quiet counter-melody as he grows more familiar with the performers' style. He busies himself with scanning the crowd while the thumb of his right hand twists an intricate jade band encircling his middle finger. His gaze lingers briefly on the gesturing speech at a nearby table but makes himself look away-- eavesdropping is rude, afterall.

The fast-paced Ignition-Countdown song finishes and the golem group moves on to another one. It also has a strong beat, but clearer vocas. Panflute, Stringbox and Sith'Machine seem to be repeating, "ey-dey" as 733 steps up to the mic and sings in a distorted mimicry of a human voice.

Every day...
hiding from the sunshine.
lurking in the shade.
Every time at night...
I can hear your call.

733 slips into an incomprehensible chorus with the music surging.

Aryia gives a shrug towairds Bina, not at all off put about someone not understanding her hand signs. She gives a thumbs up as a thanks. Her long ears twitch as the music surges, her scooting a bit further away so the sound wasn't as intense. "I think both you and I needed this," Aryia signs to Seyardu. <Handspeech>

Sabina sighs lightly and shakes her head at Morgan. "Yes please. No spells while drunk. I've heard some stories from other inn and store owners about incidents involving the two mixed together." She leans in slightly and lowers her voice. "But it is good to see you out and about and taking care of yourself. Let me know if you need anything." She strightens herself and moves over to yet another table and then to the bar and Jinks. "Evening. You seem to be enjoying the music. And I hope your stay here as well."

Merek listens to the music, and nods a bit while he smiles, though he does notice Aryia and Seyardu while he stands up. "Do you two mind if I sit with you? I'll try not to be a bother," he will offer.

"I believe you are correct, Aryia. We both needed ssome time to relax. I feel a bit better after a bath, and a warm meal will likely make it even more sso." The sith'makar agrees. She turns to Merek, giving a wave and thump of her tail to the ground, mostly drowned out by the music. "No, of coursse, you are welcome here Merek. I do not ssee why not. And you, Aryia?"

Morgan gives a nod to what was said to her "You know I better go to bed." mostly said to her self "enjoy the music every one." said at the area where the people are as she leaves.

Jinks glances at Sabina, away, and then back again. He leans forward, pulling his back from the bar and offers a wink and a wide smile. "Being unable to enjoy one's self is a failure of character, not venue." He recites the words as if giving breath to scripture. "Though I seem to recall this place used to be a... brothel? Or a barracks?" He narrows his eyes in thought. "Perhaps I misremember; it's been some time."

Edinaz comes in through the door, a happy spring in his step.

The song finishes and moves to the next one. It starts with a consistent buzzing from Stringbox, with Panflute interjecting a set of three chords, which are followed by Sith'Machine rocking two notes back and forth. It then settles into a quick-step pace that is punctuated by cymbals, then the triangles.

733 Vocals sings, each word distored, it seems to be about self-improvement.

Aryia nods towards Merek, her reaching a leg out to kick out a chair for him

Bina snorts and then chuckles. "It was a warehouse when I bought it but I can't speak to what ti was before that. Many an hour went into it's referbishment." She peers to see his cup and it's contents. "Perhaps after another drink or two you could show us all how to dance? Waken up the character within us all not to fail at this venue." She winks and chuckles moving off again. She pauses next to the stage and gives the band a wave and a nod of her head.

Jinks hms and takes a long draw from the flute, closing his eyes and savoring the pull. After a moment he gives a little shrug and mutters to himself, "I suppose when you've a hammer you hope everything might be a nail."

Up on stage, Sith'Machine returns Sabina's wave with a little salute. This golem is largely metallic, with gaps in the plating that show internal tubing which glows light blue, or is simply completely transparent with the background of the stage visible through the segments.

The other three golems catch the gesture exchange, and in unison duplicate it towards Sabina as well.

Merek will take a seat while he nods to Aryia, "Thank you," he will say, then to Seyardu, "It is good to see you both about, I might bring in a little bit of fish for the place," he notes, while nodding along and to Sabina.

Edinaz saunters in and finds a seat, sliding into place to watch the band.

"That iss good! I have not been about at the temple too much of late, and all donationss are appreciated. It lifts the sspirits when meals given are improved with more meat. Many bring their children in,and it iss important for those sstill growing." The sith'makar replies with another grin, finally waving back to Sabina to try and get her attention to order. "We both figured that thiss would be a good way to sspend the day. Or evening, rather?"

Aryia raises a brow. "Yes, I kind of wanted to do this since the happening on the bank. But... you have not been to the temple? That sounds not like you," the elf signs. <Handspeech>

Bina laughs softly at the band's greeting and then turns to catch Merek's greeting as well. She gives him a nod and a slight bend of the waist in his direction.

A drink is spilled at another table and she's moving in that direction. A cantrip to help clean up the mess on her lips along with her smile. Some light banter as well.

Edinaz finds a chair, leans back and enjoys the music.

Merek looks then to Sey although he doesn't add a lot, while he nods to Aryia a little. All the same, it looks like the man will focus upon the drink with him, which he sips.

Jinks drains the last of his drink and sets the glass on the bar behind him before sliding fluidly off of the stool and to the floor. He pats his coat, pants, chest, and pants again before retrieving a sterling phial and tossing the contents back. He pauses and shivers with a manic energy, blinking repeatedly and plucking will o' the wisps from the Hymn as he begins to cavort to the rhythm.

"No, I have been to the temple. I jusst, I do not feel completely ready to get back to helping there. One musst be confident and relaxing for people who come by, to put them at easse." Seyardu replies with a touch of a frown. "I do not wissh to cause more trouble than my help iss worth, ass I know people are sscared to ssee me even normally."

The golem band seguays from it's current song into another one which is primarily instrumental although there is a chorus about flight. Stringbox, Panflute and 733 are completely in synch, very mechanically precise.

Unusually, the drummer, which typically sets the pace and keeps the rhythm in a song is off a little. It's not exceptionally noticeable, it only is because the other three are perfectly aligned, while the drums are merely, very, very good.

Sith'machine is perhaps distracted, or a golem that isn't suited for multi-tasking, as it appears to be focusing on the people gathered at a couple of the tables. Strange glances between it and the other golems suggest some sort of inadudible communication.

Blinking code, perhaps.

Sabina slips into the back.

Jinks moves with a natural grace but isn't a trained dancer. He gives himself to the throes of it. Four lights in a furtive pastel wrap around him, pulsing in and out with the music from the stage. His eyes are closed but his mouth is open, wide and singing a wordless tune along with the band on stage.

Jinks pages: Thanks for letting me tag along, bud. Sorry for wallflowering but it was fun knocking some of the rust off. You paged Jinks with 'No worries. I wasn't really interactive in the scene much either. A little tired from the day. Glad you had fun!'

Aryia leans forward, feet off the table now as she drums her fingers along the table. She casts a look to the drummer, understanding why they were off slightly before giving them a nod. "That's understandable. But... I don't know what you mean by people think you are scary. Probably the least scariest sith-makar I've seen, if I'm honest." <Handspeech> GAME: You have loggers in the following location(s):

"That is kind of you to say, but you were scared of me the first time we met, were you not?" The sith'makar chuckled after another sip of her drink. "But most are wary of my kind when they meet us. And it is hard to get across things with tone, but sometimes most expressions, like a smile, do more harm than good."

She gives a wide smile to the mul, as if to accentuate the point. Those teeth were awfully sharp, for certain.

Aryia shakes her head. "No, that was me being bad with people and being not used to this place." She looks about, raising a brow at those dancing along to the music. It was easily too loud to be that close. Aryia ends up standing, pats her friend on the shoulder, and heads to the bar to get her drink. <Handspeech>

Up on stage, the band moves into another fast paced, industrial song and keeping to their tradition of playing dance music for dinner.

Jinks dances to the nn sst nn sst nn sst.

"Is the music too loud?" Seyardu asked, looking to the mildly uncomfortable elf. "Perhaps for you, but many react like that."

She settled back into her seat, listening to the music and enjoying her drink. Until the plate of fajita ingredients was set down in front of her, and she smiled again. It was hard for her to spend more on a meal, but the food was welcome. Though she couldn't exactly remember the order of peppers she was instructed to put on, due to the color.

And the <Band Name Here> played on.

Dramatis Personae

Aryia
This mul is built lithe and quick, body honed to be its own weapon. She doesn't stand too terribly tall, yet her stature doesn't help with how she squirrels herself away.

Heavy scarring lines every inch of exposed dark colored flesh, that almost a dim grey. Her face shows youth, yet her milky eyes betray a hard life were her self not evidence enough. Moon colored hair comes down to just past her shoulders, it a damaged mess, yet straightened out. The entire front of her throat is a mass of scarring, deep wounds from long past.

Attire wise, she doesn't have much. A simple, somewhat tattered looking long sleeved tunic (the back is stitched together) and pants, coupled with some nice looking dark blue boots that have yet to be broken in. Underneath the sleeves are leather cords that press against muscled arms. Small, cold iron plates adorn the back of her hands and knuckles, the palms and fingers exposed.

Cryosanthia
Cryosanthia is an elegant sith-makar woman in the first year of her second century. She radiates confidence, a deep power from within. Her scales are a brilliant white, highlighted by ones which are the palest of glacial blues. These pale scales trace out the scars she used to bear, her hide is restored. She bears two fantastic patterns of these, one on her chest, the other completely covering her back from crest to tailtip. When the light hits right, one sees the dragon within. Her bearing is intense, her motions minimal grace. Two horns sweep back from her brow. Her eyes are like glittering saphhire gems, and when she blinks her eyelids have the glacial blue to them as well. She carries no weapons, and still keeps a tiny bag close to her heart.

Her clothing is various ensembles. At times she wears a layered robe, a mithril swashbuckling outfit, kilted leather, a loincloth, or nothing. The colours inevitably mirror her own. Brilliant white with shimmering blue highlights, piping and whorls. Snowflakes and dragon-eyes are a common motif.

Cryo has been changed, physically and fundamentally by her experiences. She grew into herself under the Queen of Endless Winter, and struggles to reconnect with herself, her body, and friends she hasn't seen in decades. Alien at times even to the sith-makar, her heritage is written on her scales, along with her spells.

Jinks
Jinks carries himself with a sense of smug self-importance, wrapped in bright, tailored clothing that flatters his slight frame. The gnome is an average height for his people (standing closer to three-feet tall than four) but manages to look down his nose at even the tallest giantborn. He slinks with an easy grace through crowds forever endeavoring to avoid contact with the common man.

His eyes are large, solid black orbs twinkling with mischief and his thin lips are almost perpetually set into a lopsided smirk framed by an immaculately-trimmed goatee. The hair on his head is shock-white, shoulder-length, and worn pulled back into a short ponytail. He's also quite oviously fond of jewelry as assorted baubles and trinkets glitter about his face, top, and hands.

Morgan
Her diminutive figure stands at a keen 4'10", including the amber wave of hair flowing not much past her chin. Bound together by red bow, four long braids rise up from the crown of her head, and entwine themselves together in a single, undulating cascade. Her petite form seems childlike upon first glance, yet her witty laugh and smooth voice have far more polish than a mere babes. And those sparkling emerald eyes have seen far too much adventure to belong to any but the most hard-bitten of youths.

A long, deep blue, doublet adorns her with black buttons that hang undone. Long sleeves that flare some at the wrist to keep her hands free for her work. Below the doublet is a red tunic of cotton, black vines etch little flowers along the tailored garment that cuts in at the waist before being belted just above the hips. A pair of woolen pants, dark blue to match the doublet, are upon her legs, a flare to them as they breach over the tops of her calf-high black leather travel boots.

A cloak wraps about her as well, long and similar in its dark blue as the rest, a black metal clasp holds it about her neck as the dance of mystical symbols runs down the edges as if forming some shield against the elements.

Seyardu
While not as physically imposing as many others of her kind, Seyardu still towers over most regardless. The sith-makar is covered in bright silver scales, with almost metallic, silvery eyes that are usually found in what looks like an appraising squint. Two long, ridged horns curve forward on their face, and a long tail trails slightly on the ground, keeping them balanced. Usually they are seen in town with simple, plain clothes, a simple vest and accompanying gray skirt. A large rucksack is usually slung over her back with most of her worldly posessions, with a large wooden shield, well used but completely bare, save for a rough dark black painting of a dragon's head.

Sabina
Black hair that is the color of a dark Summer night tumbles down in loose waves of silk , parted in the middle to either side, draping down past her slender shoulders to come to rest at mid-back. Those waves of shining night frame an innocent youthful face of olive skin with beauty mark that enhance rather than detract from her beauty. Large dark green eyes, sparkling and full of life and laughter, peer about as if looking for trouble to partake in. Perfect arching eyebrows add to the alluring gaze and lend to her an almost noble presence. Her cheekbones are high cut speaking to Tsuran heritage. Soft kissable full lips rest beneath a straight slightly button nose. The lines of her jaw are sharp feminine angles that put the finishing touches to her striking looks.

This attractive woman is of elvish proportions. Standing at only a few inches above five foot but packed into that short stature are curves of proportionate beauty that can turn heads. A slender neck gives way to petite freckled shoulders that help support the full curves of her moderately endowed chest. An hour glass waistline widens back out into healthy hips that turn into short but shapely legs with dainty feet.

She wears a tight form hugging dress of black linen and silk, belted at the hip with daggers and pouches hanging neatly along it. Soft leather boots of ankle height cover her small feet.

When shet and about she is never without her peacock that normally rides apon her shoulder or struts about her feet when at ease.
