  • Emitter: Cryosanthia
  • Characters: Cryosanthia, Merek, Etan, Kaelyn, Amythyst, Halani, Braelnoir, Halani, Ezil, Nels
  • Place: A07: Fernwood Pub
  • Time: Tuesday, February 25, 2020, 8:39 PM
  • Summary: It's another day of poor weather which finds Cryosanthia working at the Fernwood Pub, as various people come in. Merek is still discussing his interest in travelling to the plane of water, which intrigues Etan, a cleric of Vardama. The pub is serving deer, which was provided by Kaelyn in a somewhat chewed and half-eaten state as product of her nocturnal hunting. Amythyst enters, and she a Cryo discuss swimming in cold water, which Amythyst does as a matter of course and Cryo did to escape some fears. Halani and Braelnoir arrive around this time, and Halani shares that she has also suffered from literal demons pursuing her, and may have made a pact with one. Braelnoir has been training in the Colosseum, getting beaten down but generally enjoying what she can do, and has managed to learn to eat with paws without making too much mess. Discussion turns to magic clothing bracers that Merek can produce, and Braelnoir and Cryosanthia order them. Ezil appears, in time to catch the tail of these discussions, as well as Nels, who is still in human female form and lamenting how that attracts human males, who then complain she doesn't bathe enough. Baths versus magical cleaning is discussed as Cryo prepares one for Braelnoir, then everyone goes to their beds and Cryo to Braelnoir's room.

The common room of the Fernwood Pub dominates the inn, spacious and airy because of the high, vaulted ceiling. Ornately carved beams of dark, polished wood form a lattice overhead, supporting the arched roof two storeys above the floor. To the right of the double-door entry is a spiral staircase, winding upwards to a balcony that rings and overlooks the main area. Large windows at this level grant an excellent view of the river to the west and colorful market stalls to the north and east. An air of coziness is salvaged by keeping the pub dimly lit; parchment-shrouded mana lanterns hang at intervals from the base of the balcony, nestled amongst lush, magically propagated ivy and ferns that grow over this false demi-ceiling and the struts that support it.

The bar is sleek and simple, comprised of meticulously polished black lacquer. Tables are set under the darker niches formed by the balcony floor as well as on the balcony itself. A few are deliberately sized to accommodate halflings and gnomes, but the majority are meant for human-sized individuals. A large common table is on the main floor, set before a semi-circular stage situated against the western wall. Beside it, with pipes mounted upon the wall and running up past the balcony and almost to the ceiling, is a refurbished pipe organ made to look like the one lost when the Fernwood was destroyed during the Merkabah Siege.

It's turning to dusk, and a cold wind blows from the west. Dark grey clouds move across the sky, blotting out stars in isolated patches. Other sections of sky are clear, with the air cold as crystal, and the night lights twinkling in the sky.

The shutters are closed on one window, with a board temporarily nailed in place, awaiting a glazier. There are a few occupied tables, regulars who prefere to eat out, usually in a cluster, and those who look more like adventurers, usually alone.

A white-scaled sith-makar is on the floor as the server currently. At the moment her tables are managed and she's parked herself against the bar, back to the bartender, so she can watch things.

Merek has taken the time to put on his dark attire, from the cargo pants to the tunic shirt which he wears, along with the longcoat he has placed upon him. He makes his way into the place, and pulls his scarf while he finds a place at the bar to settle in, he nods to Cryo, "Heya, apologies about yesterday, you doing alright?" he asks.

Cryosanthia exhales for a long time. "Apology accepted Merek. This one is fine. It turns out I do enjoy freezing water." She moves from her perch, takes a bar cloth and starts wiping down the top of the bar. The bartender watches her.

The door latch is fumbled for a moment, the handle jiggling up and down before it finally clicks and opens. Etan is looking at the door with a puzzled expression as he enters, closing it soon after, but taking a moment to inspect it. He has a bit of ice in his beard, but finding nothing wrong with the door he raises his hands to blow several warm puffs into them. "Huh. Maybe it's just me." and promptly heading to the bar. "Must of been outside longer than I thought. Hands went numb." speaking toward the barkeep, and ordering an ale for his trouble. "Wish we had all them fancy food still. Though any thing with meat and potatoes tonight?"

Merek looks to the bartender, "I would like a light coffee, with vanilla cream," he says, then he nods to Cryosanthia a bit. "In any case, I am still planning my expedition into the Plane of Water. As you are a White, it means you probably would manage well, it is a nice expansive place! I am planning to do a bit of research." He nods a bit to Etan.

"I can get you some meat and potatoes. I'm Cryo, I'll be your server for tonight, and a coffee." The white sith nods to the newcomer and Merek, heading into the back. The bartender puts an ale in front of Etan. There is the muffled sound of pots, small talk with Chef, then Cryo returns with the food, and a coffee with vanilla cream and sets them down. "It boggles my mind that you would want to do that, and I'm not sure it's safe. I'll think on it."

"Oh, I'd appreciatie that. Very much." The Vardamanite says with a bit of perked excitement. "I have seen you here before, Miss Cryo. On the festive days a while back." his smile growing as he takes his ale, and meanders to find a seat.

"Planar travels? Now if I had a chance... I'd like to see some of those. Not now, no. I have too much work, and there are things needing doing here." Etan's words casual as he picks up a bit on the other talk, finding a table to nestle at, and taking up a chair. "Always work though. Never a dull day."

Merek nods a bit to Etan, while he looks to Cryosanthia as well, "The Plane of Water might be the safest, especially with a nice place in mind within it." He then waits about for coffee while he clicks his gloves upon the main bar, looking to people.

Cryo smiles, brushing a hand over her eye ridges, almost a gesture someone with hair would make. Clearly she's copying some of the mannerisms of the other servers, "The community day, that was a busy one. I did enjoy it. So much interesting food and people. You're right, about being busy."

The sith nudges the coffee towards Merek, "Was this hiding behind me? I brought it for you. It sounds like there is some vacation spot in that plane. The other wizard had an opinion too. Have you found out anything about bloodlines for me, or did that get put to the side. I wasn't sure what you were going to tell me. I'm not sure what I want to hear. Everyone says, 'oh don't worry about white dragon heritage', so I guess, that's what I'm wanting to hear."

Etan listens as he sips the froth from the top of his ale, watching Cryo and Merek discuss this matter of bloodlines and the other planes. He shifts in his seat, seeming curious about the conversation, but not offering too much of his own. "Is there any chance of some.... gravy with those potatoes?" a bit of hope as his order hasn't yet made it. "Though, Miss Cryo. I am being rude. I am, Mourner Etan. Just Etan is fine too. Can't always have the stuffiness."

"Well, the white dragons are known for affinity for ice, so you will probably manage to develop the ability to empower your ice magic, as well as to resist it further and to use ice breath," Merek mentions, while he nods a bit to Cryosanthia. He then takes a sip of his coffee, "I can teach you a bit about bringing that to the front. He does look to Etan, "What do you do in the city?" he asks curiously, as the man might of people that mention interest in Planes!

Cryo nods to Etan, "Of course. Etan, yes. I'll check on your meal. It should be ready now." She slips into the kitchen again, tail coiling through the swinging door behind her just as it is about to pinch. Then, she's back again, with what seems to be steak stew, over sliced potatoes, covered in gravy. She slides it down in front of him. "Enjoy!"

"I already am good with some Ice magic, it's my favourite thing." Cryosanthia says. She seems hesitant, "Sure. Ok."

Etan rubs his hands together with anticipation as that meal is set before him, looking up to Merek with his large smile. "Just a Mourner, Friend. I help those whose time it is to pass from this realm do so comfortably." taking up his cutlery and cutting his steak to pieces as he talks. "I am not yet the one they call to bring some back, but if I had a 'job', it would be healer. Mostly." his meandering thoughts on it trailing off into the philisophical. "Maybe I was once a potions maker. I have a knack for that."

Merek nods a bit to Etan in respect, while he thinks about it. "I just brought someone back in the Temple of Vardama, it was quite an experience. You all do wonderful work," he says, then he looks to Cryosanthia, "I know that look, worried about magic, or being taught by people. I can bring you reading material I make on my notes." A hand lifts a tome which he wiggles, then he takes a sip of coffee, "Theurge Merek." He introduces to the man as well.

"I could use a few healing potions. I'm always getting into trouble." Cryo says, then glances at Merek, "Maybe a water breathing one or two also. If there's a place I can come by and buy, I don't want to talk work when you're off."

"It's not quite that Merek, my magic feels wrong, like scale-mites." She looks off to the side, maybe it is that look, frightened of magic and being taught. Seeing him playing with his tome, she wiggles her hand at is as well. Her gloves glow, and now she's in a Mage Hand tug of war for the book.

Etan laughs between bites of his steak, looking up to Cryosanthia as he takes a break to speak. "Lovely gravy. Ties the meal together." he notes, but continues after wiping his whiskers with a kerchief. "Well. I can make you some healing potions, but it would take a bit of time. I don't really have an inventory of things. As for the water breathing, not really in my scope of practice. You see, while I am good with my hands, it's only with potions that fix you up. Like I said, something I picked up real quick. Other magics? Nope. I'm a bit strange they say, but that's not really being rude if it's the truth." his matter-of-fact tone taken while his smile still sits wide. Etan then turns to Merek. "A pleasure, Theurge Merek."

Merek looks then to Etan, and nods a bit to him, "It's nice to meet clerics," he says, then he looks to Cryosanthia, "I can make you potions of water breathing. Actually, I can make you potions of almost anything, but I'll keep that to things that he can't make so he can actually get business, if that's alright with Etan!" A nod between the two, then he smiles to Cryosanthia, "Ah, I know the way you can feel when your magic is natural, it's like having the Source linked to you."

"The what now?" Cryo blinks.

Kae can be seen! She's in the house! She hardly leaves! Aaand well, she's meandering down the steps, walking on all fours, steps are kinda tricksy for her...

As she gets to the bottom she looks around curiously... "Oooh... hmmm" She says and looks around, before trying to occupy her favorite space, near the fireplace... She even takes off her backpack, unfolds a blanket out of it, and lays on sais blanket, grinning a bit.. There now the local cleaner person can't yell at her too much for shedding!

Kae then yawns, hugely, massive chompers quite visible, before she looks around again and then can be seen waving a forelimb and a wing toward Cryo!!! "Hieeee!"

Cryosanthia waves at Kaelyn, with arm and her tail too. Arm is side to side, tail up and down. "Peace on your nest, Scale-Sister. Hungry for something?"

Etan waves a hand toward Merek, having taken a bite and taking time to chew and swallow before answering. "No, no. You make the woman anything she needs, Merek. I am not in this life to make a profit." a strange glance coming over his face for a moment. "I don't really know why I'm in......" Kaylen's entrance seeming to stop his droning tone, and thoughts. "Kaelyn, yes?" he asks, again focusing on his meal to take a bite, sopping up as much gravy as he can with the bit of beef.

Merek looks to Cryosanthia and sighs a bit, "The Source, the origin Plane from which all life comes from and magic," he says, while he nods to the woman, sipping his coffee a little as well. "Would you like the potions?" he asks. A nod also to Etan, "Me either, I like the work," he adds.

"Sure, I'll take a few." Cryo nods to Merek, "Oh, That Source. Must have slipped my mind. I'm... so what does touching this source look like?"

Kae beams and nods toward Etan now... "Yup.." she then ooohs.. and Nods "Yus, Big steak, taters... ummm One of those good table wines, Bourdeax or whatever, the slightly sweet but not dry stuff they sell a lot of here." She says.. That and red wine goes well with steak... Kae flops out the necessary gold for the meal, it's an expensive one...

"Ooh Ooh, soo yeah, you were there, I actually made a Kill the way this body's supposed to work, ended up eating it that way... I think I prefer it to be cooked though, spices and salt are not to be overrated!! Body did what it was supposed to I guess and I kind of let it, but yeaaaaah, that was kind of like well, going along while my instincts took over and did everything it was supposed to.." She doesn't mention she ended up chasing after Cryo curiously while carrying the carcass in her mouth... Nope nope, that doesn't need mentioning.

Kae beams at Etan "So how are you?"S he asks, giving a biiig tight-lipped smile.. NOpe she wont show teeth... A fang slips out though, so she's got a snaggle-toothed grin.

"The source is different for each caster, Miss Cryo. It manifests in many ways. Not all casters achieve it in the same manner. It's that feeling you tap into... deep inside yourself." Etan's tone always as if he's telling a story that took place a long time ago. "You see. Even for us clerics, there is a source. Though it be far more divine than the chaotic nature of the arcane." taking a swig of his ale, and shrugging. "Arcane magics are ancient and powerful, some existing in a plane of their own, and some even spontaneous. It can be tapped into by those who are studious, or... those who have a natural gift. It's a very mysterious thing."

"I'd get the gravy. Really good with the potatoes." Etan's words tossed at Kaelyn, offering a smile. "I'm doing dandy, Miss Kaelyn. Just dandy."

GAME: Merek rolls will: (4)+17: 21

Cryosanthia doesn't react to what Kaelyn is talking about, either she doesn't remember or is being discrete. She nods to the food order and slips into the back. She takes several long minutes in the kitchen. Finally she returns with a tray that is full of plates, and grabs a bottle of wine from the bar. She sets down several plates of meat, most of them with gravy, and resting on a bed of a potatoes. A couple have some melted cheese curds as well. One has vegetables. "There you go, hopefully this will be enough."

The sith swings by where Etan is seated, "Is your meal good, do you need anything more, are considering desert?"

"Oh... deep inside. Okay." Cryo nods uncomprehendingly, "I'm sure it'll work itself out."

Merek looks then to people, with a nod, while he looks to Etan and his meal, "What got you interested in the Planes?" That's asked while he looks to Cryosanthia, "The Source from which all life comes from, for you as a Sorcerer, which means Arcane magic, it is a pure draw from the Sea of Mana. Think about it like this, some men and women like to go fishing and swimming, but fish, generally are one with the sea. It's a lot like that, your connection to a magical being, in ancestry, often will give you a resonance in your bloodline. It means you are not completely one race, or one spirit, it is more like your spirit keeps a piece of that kin your acenstors kept with the Sea."

The man nods a bit, "Divine magic, it comes from the same Source, although that comes from faith, you give yourself fully to a god as well as primal forces. All comes from the same place, it is accessed differently. A sorcerer's spirit is what you might say is 'attuned' to the Sea of Mana, it can draw directly, because of what it is though, your spells are often colored by what your ancestry might be. The gods are beings like what your ancestry came from, but upon greater a scale, and able to lend it directly, even through their servant people."

Kae blinks at alll the foood! "Oooh, thanks Cryo!" She calls out cheerfully, there's a bit of a breaze from the happy flap of wings as Kae extends them momentarily and just as quickly folds them tight to her self... She then sets about happily munching away, starting, of course with the steak....

Etan smirks as he finishes up his meal, making to stand as he fumbles for a few coins. "Well said, Theurge. Though I'd argue that if we all experience it differently, it then, can not be the same." giggling oddly as he places the coins on the table. "Though that goes back to the meta teachings, and the philosophy of life." offering a shrug to Merek. "Curiosity, Theurge. Lots of it." his answer to a question. "Good day to you all." Etan's words coming with a glance to the three. "It was nice to have a talk with my meal. I best be back to my work."

"I... uh... okay! Yes, it was nice serving you." Cryosanthia says, blinking out of the trance the magic theory put her in. "Always welcome at the Fernwood, please come again."

Merek waves a bit to Etan, "You be well," he says, then he nods a bit, "It is unique in access, that is true, it all comes from the same place, it's like, many paths which come from the destination." He looks to Cryosanthia, "At one point the white dragon ancestry affected your spirit, you are in a spiritual way, kin to that. Which gives you access to the abilities that were natural to the dragon. Probably more than many being with the sith-makar!" A little wave to Kae!

The door opens and in walks a soaking wet woman that wrings out her hair at the door before she closes it. "Hornet for me." She says in a soft voice. She's still soaked, but she doesn't seem to be cold.

"All sith are kin to dragons. Maybe it's stronger in me, than most, or..." Cryo's words trail off into thoughts. She rubs at the markings on her arms. She looks over as the door opens, "A... hornet? The insect? They're... not in season currently."

"Amythyst, isn't it? Do you need assistance drying off?" The sith server stands there, her tail swaying slowly behind her.

Kae is waggling as Etan leaves, then blinks at the new person, and peers to the Sith "That's the drink she wants." She says cheerfully... "You've been listening to Magic theory too long, making your mind all fuzzy.. Here!" She produces a book on Artificer theory... It's probably worse, not only that but it's at least written to be entertaining, but yeah, in a lot of ways, it's worse...

GAME: Merek rolls knowledge/nature: (14)+8: 22

"What insects? Are they cute?" Merek asks, then he sips that coffee, with a nod to Cryosanthia, "That is what it is, you are in a way more kin to them than a lot," he says, while he smiles.

"A green hornet is a local drink, Cryosanthia." She then chuckles. "And yes, I'm Amythyst. and no...I don't need assistance in drying off. Just decided to get a bit of a drink, which sounds kinda stupid since I was in the river all day."

"It's a drink Cryo, like she says, here." The bartender puts a drink on the bar near to Amythyst.

Cryo looks between Kaelyn, Merek, then Amythyst and nods, "I was in a plunge pool all night. I understand, it's a different kind of drinking. My gloves do a nice drying job too, but if you've got it."

"I'm fine, Cryo. I just wring my hair out so it doesn't drip on the floor and make someone slip. It's kinda easy to do, especially in the winter months." She says as she takes the hornet and drinks from it.

Merek looks between all the people and nods gently while he thinks about it. "Ah, drink," he says, then he finishes that nice coffee, and looks between people, "I would like to have a steak with gravy, the white kind, with... Fried potatoes!"

Kae peers at the new person now curiously.... She tilts her head, ears perking up and she shrugs and waggles a bit before she points at the fire "Come over here!" She says cheerfully, now ifting one of the tomahawk steaks up by the bone and nearly degloving the massive thing in one bite....

The feather dragon then beams and looks to Cryo "Sooo you hid in the water? OOoh I hope it wasn't too bad in there, appetite came over and I kinda tucked in right next to it.." She says "Sorry about that!"

The sound of a particularily energetic gust of wind announces the door opening to produce a somewhat bedraggled looking robed figure... a sound quickly silenced as she hauls the door closed behind her. Unkempt hair, not truly held in check anymore by the band around her forhead, doesn't quite conceal the somewhat shadowed look she gives the interior as her eyes adjust to the different lighting. Then the young woman shrugs, looks for a relatively open spot at the bar trudges forth.

"A... deer steak? Or regular steak?" Cryo makes a strange sideways glance at Kaelyn. "I don't know if we have white gravy, I'll let Chef know about the potatoes. Would you like anything to eat Amythyst?"

"It was very pleasant. Sitting there, feeling the water pounding down, seeing what I could see with my darkvision, watching the currents. The first hour was very relaxing, then my lungs started to hurt. Maybe the cold water froze something; I had to keep going up for air. I experimented with bringing air bubbles down, using Mage hand, that let me stay under for longer spells. I think if I could have slept there, it would have been perfect."

She nods at the new entrant, "I'm Cryo, I can get you food if you want. You've found the bar already, our bartender does the drinks."

Merek nods a bit between folk while he smiles, "I'll take deer," he says, placing two gold upon the bar while he waits for his meal. He then takes a moment to shift away his longcoat, adjusting the scarf which he wears, nodding a bit. He waves to the new woman coming in!

"Ahhhh...you were trying to stay underwater, hmm? Certain spells can help with that more than just general practice. And sometimes....all it takes is something in your blood." She says before looking to the bartender. "A bit of steak if you don't mind. Eating fish can stink after a while."

Halani stops short of the bar at Crysanthia's greeting.. and starts a bit. Almost as if she didn't see the six and a half foot tall sith'makar when she did her initial scan. "Uh. Heya. No food, thanks. Not now." Then she slids on to a stool and puts a coin on the bar's surface. "Ale." Then, belatedly, "Please." Merek's wave gets a bit of a shifty eye, as if Halani isn't quite sure his motives.. but a second later she mimics the motion, of somewhat less enthusiastically.

Kae blinkblinks at Cryo "Ummm Oooh, yeah, so ummm... I'm confuzzled." She says and then her eyes shift around curiously. Looking at Kaes platter, she's pretty much done, the large feather dragon having gone through everything rather rapidly... Kae then beams and waggles a wing at Halani now! If she missed the Sith, she might have missed the large feathery, floofy draconit thing curled up with a platter of food over by the fireplace!!!

Kae is still alll smiles, it's a snaggle toothed one as she looks now at her mead... She then carefully lifts the tankard some, then without further adoo, dips her muzzle into it slightly and begins sucking the contents out, much like a horse or some such might drink... It works for her anyway...

It's the apron. Put a serving apron on anyone and they disappear, especially when an order is desired.

"Well, trying to get away. It was hard to be alone in a dark forest in the middle of the night. Surprisingly hard. Drowning myself seemed the best option." Cryo pushes herself off the bar, sashaying into the kitchen, her tail coiling back and forth behind her. As the door swings closed, she can be heard saying, "Chef, regular steak and deer steak. Deer steak needs some cuts that don't have bites out of them. Fry some of the..."

The bartender sets an ale down, sliding the mug over to Halani.

Amythyst's steak comes out next, from the kitchen window to the bartender, then down onto the bar for her.

The white-scale sith comes out a few minutes later, "Yours is coming soon Merek."

The doorknob jiggles a little bit... then a little bit more before the door finally opens, allowing the entrance of another current resident. Her dress is threadbare in places, outright slashed in others, her hair is disheveled, and her movement is weary and perhaps a little stiff on one side. Brae brings a paw to her face to stifle a yawn before she's even gotten a survey of the place.

Amythyst smiles. "thank you." And she begins to eat the steak..with some utensils of course. She does look to Cryosanthia. "What were you hiding from?"

Merek nods a bit thankfully to Cryosanthia, content to settle about and wait, waving to Brae when she's about.

Halani is just putting her lips to the mug and taking her first pull on it when... yes, it does appear that she missed the dragon. Her eyes bulge, the mouthful of ale goes spewing.. then the mug lands on the bar counter, not spilling but sloshing a little, and the ragged woman is off her stool and on her feet in a fighting stance. Only belatedly cluing in to the fact that the dragon must have been here a while... and no one is fighting it... and it's not eating anyone... and so starts to relax. Just in time for Braelnoir to arrive. This time Halani just stares. Plainly, unabashadly, stares. She takes note of the sign around the woman's neck, then promptly turns back around and grabs her ale... and chugs.

GAME: Merek rolls fort: (14)+11: 25

Cryo stands there for a moment, facing straight ahead, although it's difficult to tell what she's looking at. Her pupils are narrow and don't adjust their location in her eyes much. "Things... large things with glowing eyes, and this one who insists on scaring me when I am already feeling paranoid." She flicks her hand towards Merek.

The reaction to Kaelyn is noticed. Cryo watches the Xian woman's response, signals the bartender to get her a second drink. "She can be a bit to take in, on first sight."

Then the white-sith moves over to Braelnoir, dipping her head with concern, "Braelnoir, Peace on your Nest. You are ok? You look like you have been kicked all day. Have a seat, let me get you something."

Amythyst noms on a piece of steak. "Glowing eyes? That doesn't sound good, Cryo."

Kae blinks at the glowy eye note..."Oooh Oooh, do I count as large thing with glowy eyes?!?!" She asks curiously, well her eyes do glow at times, a pretty blue! They're also big, and slitted too, yup feather dragon-ish thingie!

Kae then turns her head and her ears perk up as she looks at Halani and smiles... "Don't worry, it was a hyooooge thing for me to take in too!!" She says and then it registers about the deer and watching for teeth marks..."Oooh yaaay! They're using them!" she says, her tail lashing as she beams happily, ears backing and eyes closing as she obviously kind of preens while laying with her forepaws crossed... So proud!!!

Merek looks between people and blinks a bit, while he looks a bit like he would like space. He smiles to folk, nodding to Cryosanthia when she notes that he's about, standing to find a little nice place he can settle in!

Braelnoir's paw comes down as her eyes open in the aftermath of her yawn in time to catch the dusky woman's not unjustified eyeballing, though she only affords a shrug for her own benefit as the woman is back pounding her drink with new enthusiasm. She waves to Merek with a tired, but easy enough smile, and meets Cryo's concern by lightly alighting the pads of her right paw against the white-scale's head, though she gives a short bark of laughter, "Aye, an' punched, an' thrown and squeezed....!" She gives a little pat and, "Welcome back, Cryo." To the fluffiness unbound, she upnods, "'ey, Kae, how ya doin', girl?"

When Halani puts the mug down and is greeted by a second, courtesey of Cryo's request of the barkeep, she offers her thanks in the form of a slightly trembling smile. The second mug gets finished off like the first, so eagerly that some of the ale spills out of the side of her mouth. The mug doesn't drop back down until it's empty. Halani wipes at her mouth with one sleeve... belatedly cleans up, or tries to, her mess with the other. Then she slides two more coins across the counter, muttering to herself. Words like scud, and talk, and curse might, just might, be overheard.

Cryo curls the edges of her mouth in a smile, letting Braelnoir's paw stay where it is as long as the chimera wants. She guides her, hand behind Braelnoir's back in case she needs her arm for support, over to a place where she can sit on the bar. "You got some licks in, right?"

Next, she answers Amythyst as she goes.

"This one has angered wizards, demons. I keep expecting them to pop up anytime when my guard is down. Instead it is more often my friends, who find my reactions funny. Alexandria is a strange place and I struggle to tell what is normal and what is not." The white sith shrugs, moving off to check on the food in the kitchen. She returns with Merek's meal, deer steak, white gravy, fried potatoe strips.

To Halani and Braelnoir she recites, "On the menu we have meat stew, steak, deer steak, and ... just deer steak, yes. And some root things, boiled or fried. And as many drinks as you need. Hornets, are a drink, this one did not know that. I found out today." Kae is still preening a bit and she beams at Halani happily.. "SOoo for once, I let instincts do their thing out in the woods, and was actually able to bring some deer down without using my made weapons!! "She says cheerfully.. "Only reason this is a -thing- is that I've failed at it sooooo many times!!!"

Kae peeerrrs at Cryo curiously "Might talk to some reputable wizards into giving you like warding things!" She says and her head swivels back toward Halani and folks curiously "Ooh Ooh, yeah, I didn't introduce! I'm Kaelyn!" She says cheerfully, no she's not getting up from where she is, she's too comfy!!

Merek looks up to Cryosanthia and nods a bit, "Thank you," he says, then he looks to Brae, as well as to people within the place as a whole. He looks back to the meal while he takes a moment to place a piece of steak on his silverware, then he takes a piece to eat. He does place a tip on the table, although he looks a bit distant in thought.

"Then..you must determine friend from foe, Cryosanthia." Amythyst says softly. "Because...if you do not....you will constantly be on edge....and when your body and mind tires and forces itself to rest...then you will be at your most vulnerable." She says as she takes another bite of her steak. "Speaking of which...would you like a bite? This is excellent steak."

Braelnoir smiles fondly to the sith and nods, "Course I did, by Kor!" she answers with a chuckle, allowing the contact as she is escorted to the bar and, after a moment or two of consideration for how she's going to manage it, the chimera manages to get up onto the stool without incident and leans forward onto her elbows. She listens to the menu, offers a dreamy, almost drooly, "Two deer steaks, luv, tore up if ya would, an' that dark beer?" She looks to the inspired drinker for a moment, then glances to the other woman conceding, "She's got a point, Cryo. Can't stay wound up tight ferever ya'll grind yerself down." She looks to Merek and cants her head before making another little wave, then with a little reluctance because she doesn't like the feeling, she works the placcard around so it's hanging down her back, instead.

"Nope. This one plans on getting drunk, yeah? Don' wanna throw up a perfectly good steak." Two more mugs arrive and Halani looks at the barkeep. "Do they come bigger?" Despite her request, she hoards the two mugs close to her before chugging one of them. It remains to be seen how well she holds her drink, but she definitely seems adept at knocking them back. Finally, she slides around on her stool, facing the majority of the others, facing the conversation that drifts back and forth along the pub's interior. "Greetings to you, Kae. Cryo." She nods her head to the others, Amythyst and Merek and Braelnoir. Maybe she's had enough ale now that she doesn't feel the need to boggle at the strange insanity in the pub anymore. "This one is Ha La Ni. Or Halani, if that's easier, yeah? And demons, you say? This one has had... a time with demons."

"I do not disagree. This one is trying. It... doesn't happen over night, and it doesn't happen at night in the rain, on a lonely stretch of road in the wilderness. It is tiring." Cryosanthia says, her tail having gotten up into her arms somehow, where she is wringing the end of it. "The deer does smell lovely, I shall get some for myself. They don't like when we eat off the customer's plates. It gets us a look."

The bartender gives Cryo a look.

"See!" The white-scale grins. She pats Merek on the back at the base of his neck. "Thank you for the tip. You apologized, I'm not mad. I worry it is your black dragon rising."

"Peace on your nest, Halani. Would you share your experiences about demons? I am interested. Do you mind if I listen while I'm in and out and about the room?" She holds up her hand.

Amythyst finishes her steak and smiles a bit as she pushes her plate back. "Ahhh...much better." She then belches. "All righty. Back to the river." She then looks to Cryosanthia. "I've been helping someone clean out the river. You can say I'm somewhat...uniquely qualified to do it."

Kae peeerrrs and looks at Halani curiously, and then glances to Cryo "Black dragon? Wheeere?" She asks and looks around curiously, before she finally shrugs NOpe, no black dragon...

Kae glances at the fire curiously, and gets to her feet, wandering on all fours to where firewood is kept, before grabbing a bunch, and wandering back, walking much like a theropod or small dinosaur might the way she's using her tail to help keep her balance...

Once there she lays back down and begins adding a few logs...

Merek is patted a bit, then he blinks at Cryosanthia, with a nod to the woman, "Thank you!" he says, then he shifts attention to Brae, "It is nice to see you doing well," he says, then he leans back while he takes another little bit of his steak to eat, then potatoes. "I think you are doing well," he says to the sith-makar while he waves to people he knows, listening to conversation while he thinks, "I would like a blackberry vodka!"

"Braelnoir." Brry-il-nwar, "Nice t'meetcha, luv." the silvery one replies with a nod, "Pardon th'complexion, it's been a sing'lar week." as her tail(s) curl around the stool. She settles on her elbows again and grins back at Merek, "Jus' trainin', luv. Good soak'll handle most'v it."

"Wash ... the river?" Cryo tilts her head, blinking at Amythyst. Perhaps some things she still translates back into her native draconic, and the words have either too many meanings, or too few. She laughs, "Do you mean clean in another way? I still believe you are a mermaid and I shall see a big tail if we go swimming! To the Tormrawr? Surely it has grown up enough to wash itself?"

"Demons..." Halani's knuckles go white as she grips the handle on the fourth mug of ale.. then she fishes out a fistful of coins and dumps them on the counter behind her. "We were looking for clues about the plague, yeah? Found a town... seemed nice, at first. Then creepy nice. And then... just creepy. People there were worshipping... something. So we snuck in." She drinks from her mug, though this time she seems to be rationing it. ANd maybe using it as timing so that Crysanthia is in the room for each part of the story. "Shouldn't have bothered, yeah? Sneaking. They saw us right off. And soon enough, their priest turned into a demon, right before our eyes. This one thought... well, it's just one demon, yeah? No problem, yeah?"

Amythyst smiles back to Cryosanthia. "Clean the river, yes. However...I am helping another clean it.....and there are more secrets to the river than you may think." She says before she waves. "One day, I'll show you. But not today. If you want to explore it though....just splash the river. I'll come to you.

"I think it's like... A magical cleansing?" A nod, Merek looks to see if the drink he asked about is offered. A nod with a wave to Amythyst, then he looks to Brae, "With her words, I think I will note that the Plane of Water will probably be safest for my exploration!"

"I shall!" Cryo promises.

Next she rushes into the kitchen, getting the food orders, bringing them out, unwilling to miss Halani's explanation. She places Braelnoir's order in front of her, the meat looking deliciously juicy. Cryo comments on the story so far, "I'm having such a problem with one demon, I'd never say that now. It did start off seeming to be nothing. I may have heard some of this second hand, please tell me more."

The white-scale lingers around Braelnoir in case she needs something, and adjusts the sign hanging on her back slightly.

The bartender slides Merek's drink over, and in response to Halani, does produce a much larger mug, something a giantborn might use.

Braelnoir blinks, "Plane of...?" she starts, then, "Oh! Yeah ya's talking about that, before." She twists a bit in her stool to look Merek's way and wonders, "Whatcha looking for out there?" Cryo gets a light pat on the arm with a, "Thank's luv." With Halani's narritive in progress, she seems to be trying to split her focus between her and Merek's reply while the other lady takes off.

Halani smiles weakly. Or rather, her lips curl in such a way that one might call it a smile on any other face. "This one has been told she has.. uh... Danger Assessment Issues? Yeah?" She pulls from her current mug again, then pauses when she sees the much larger one delivered. Her eyes widen, then she looks into the one in her hand to see how much is left. It... disappears promptly. The mug goes on the table, and the giantborn one gets hefted.. and held in both hands. Then she looks at Braelnoir. "Bree il warn." She scrunches her face. "Bray al rawn?" Yep. The ale is sinking into her head. Which she shakes, quite thoroughly. "Ah! So. The fight starts, yeah? One of us is charmed... had to hit him in the ki, right? And then.. and then this one unleashes. And it... just smiled. Snapped its fingers. And this one.... was somewhere else." As if Merek's words cue something in her memory.. "Another plane? Maybe? There were demons.. everywhere. All round. On the ground, in the air. Some appearing, some disappearing."

Merek nods a bit to Halani at the talk of the demons, then he thinks about it. "We were in a situation like that. I am traveling the Planes to seek information that might bring about ways to take on creatures like that, as well as to learn a little about magic." He takes a nice drink of vodka while he keeps eating that steak as well.

Cryo leans, with her back to the bar and her elbows resting on it. This brings her height down, so she's looming less, and she kicks one foot out a bit for support. Her tail thumps as she maneuvers it around the brass rail. She's positionned herself so she can watch Halani and Braelnoir, one with each eye essentially. To follow the story and be a reassuring presence for the silvery chimera. The sith doesn't know if the chimera's body language means the same things as her own, but tails curled around things usually mean holding on, and sometimes insecurity. Instinctively she's responding as if Brealnoir is a worried sith, and is being close, so she knows she's not alone.

"Ha! Do you mean over-reacting? I have been told the same too!" Then her pupil grows wider, filling half her eye as she listens and stares, "That is horrific! How did you get back? Did you think things? Demons can read minds. You did not make a bargain to return, please tell me so. I am unsettled now, I wasn't aware it was that easy to steal someone."

Her tail, which was bracing her lean, wraps around the brass rail a few more times.

GAME: Braelnoir rolls rense motive: (12)+rense motive: 12
GAME: Merek rolls sense motive: (20)+4: 24

'Ki?' The chimera arches an eyebrow at that and, "'cha kick'm in the saddlebag, then?" she wonders for clarity's sake. She frowns as the story continues, taking that in and updating her tactical appraisals of the situation's at play that she's been made aware of, giving an approving nod to Merek's thinking. Cryo's barrage of questions draws her eye and she notices the sith's tail coiling about the support, but isn't sure what to make of it.

Kae lays her head down now and looks to the others now, tilting her head as she just listens, her ears cupping forward and then twisting, swiveling this way and that as her tail tip twitches...

Kae raises her head again and looks over to the people, this whole stance now becoming quite natural to her as she's gotten used to her form...

It's not that Halani is impolite... it's more that she's kind of lost in her memory, now, responding... sort of... to questions asked directly to her, but not much aware of the rest of the inn. Did her ale just wink at her? "Uh.. the ki. It's this line, yeah? A line that runs through you.. and everyone. And if you hit it just right, well... They get to think about things for a moment, yeah?" That's the easier question to answer, anyways. Cryo's question about the bargain makes Halani flinch, quite visibly. "This one did not want to die. Not again," she all but whispers. Then with both hands she lifts the giantborn mug to her lips and she drinks. And drinks.

GAME: Merek casts Calm Emotions. Caster Level: 9 DC: 16

"I would like to offer a nice prayer my goddess taught me," Merek says, while he looks between people, and nods a bit, "If people wouldn't mind it," he adds, noticing people all look to be a bit in thought. He does stand up while he pats the steak, then waits to see if people are okay with that!

Cryo turns from her lean, crouching so she's looking up at Halani. She watches her drink, listening to the loud gulping noises. Her tail uncoils from the bar, then wraps around Braelnoir's stool, over one of her tails. She places her hand on the bar near Halani, "This one can help. I have a friend trapped in a pact with a demon. I have talked to many looking for options. I have contacts. You should sleep here, go to the temples tomorrow."

She stays in her position, still, watching. In some ways it seems very predatory: a lizard lying in wait, eyes on the target, unblinking. Her pose is a mimcry of human concern, with efforts to seem harmless. Of course, a serving apron with the happy image of the Fernwood Pub, possibly helps too. Cryo waits.

Kae blinks, watching Cryo curiously, then looks to Halani, then Merek and back to well Halani and Cryo, then she rubs the back of her neck.... "Ummmm, okie!" she says, not really having been paying attention... Kae looks at her drink and then stands, wandering now toward the bar, where she sits on her haunches while leaning on the bar. Her torso's long enough that she can rest her elbows on the bar.. Along with her drink. Of course she's like veeerrrry close to Halani.

Kae swivels her head on her long neck and gives a cheerful smile at Halani, it's rather toothy, Kae can't help it before waggling her empty mug "Another please?" She asks the bartender, letting Cryo do her normal thing and trying to take some of the work as wait staff off her friend.

Braelnoir blinks with a little shiver as sensations from the extra bits still throws her a little bit; being directly wired into her spine and all. She follows Cryo's lean toward Halani before Merek's question registers and she looks back his way, "Couldn't hurt!" she offers merrily, then turns back just in time for Kaelyn to chime in for another beer. This reminds the chimera that not only has she not touched her meal, yet. She hasn't started on her BEER! UNACCEPTABLE! Steps are taken to correct this.

Halani stops drinking long enough to shoot Merek a glance over the brim of her mug... then she shrugs at him, lowering her drink. Because hey... if alcohol can't settle her down, maybe magic can? She furrows her brow.. "Din't someone say never to mix magic and alcohol?" she wonders aloud. She doesn't flinch now when Cryosanthia puts her hand on the bar beside her, though she does make every effort not to look at how the sith'makar is looking at her. She /does/ flinch when Kaelyn settles down beside her. But hey, she's not trying to punch the dragon now. "This one will," she tells Cryosanthia.

Merek looks to the two which walk up next to Halani, and blinks a bit. He does lift a brow in thought, while he nods between those that speak. He does make a few gestures while he begins a prayer in Celestial, which is one of peace. Eventually, the prayer offers to those that want it, at least, calm from emotions that are bothering people as well. "Eluna said, we would find peace in dreams, I offer you that peace, for tonight, if you accept, that you will find personal revelation to bring you to understanding."

"You are safe here." Cryosanthia says, strongly, with confidence and an attempt to be reassuring. Her undivided attention still seems like she's spotted a weakness in prey. As still as she is being, there are a few hints. Her fingers are dug in on the bar, Braelnoir can feel how tightly her tail is wound over her own. The sith's pupils are a lot larger than normal, both softening her eyes and making them a little more hypnotic.

She feels Merek's spell washing over her, wills herself to relax into it, reminding herself he's a cleric. Her breathing is a little deeper and her eyes are narrowing to normality. She keeps watching Halani, keeping her movements contained. "The rooms are secure, when you want one."

Ezil tosses open the door, and steps in quickly from the cold. It's secured promptly, his cloak dusted of the sleet, and giving his boots a knock on the threshold of the door as to not much up the pub. "Every day this week it's been ice and rain. I wish spring would come." looking about to see if he can find any familiar faces. "Oy, Merek. When will it get warmer here in Alexandria?!" he calls to the man once spotting him. It seems the Tsuran is in a good mood, and his smile is flashed, but quickly fades. "Did I miss something? Everything okay?"

Braelnoir is mostly calm, though what peaks of emotion are present sort of ebb down further into baseline with Merek's incantation. Well, she's still really hungry and Cryo is... really kinda squishing her tails, now and the chimera makes a bit of a face before reaching out to set a paw on the sith's back, "Hnn... easy, luv, eeeeasyyy." She doesn't complain about the pain as such, not overtly, but, ow! She twists doorward as it swings in and her other paw lifts to wave at, "Eezee! Hey!"

The divine magic offered by Merek definitely has a visible effect on Halani. Her shoulders slump, the tension eases.. even being between a tall sith'makar and an even larger dragon...ish...lady... doesn't seem to be bothering her. She guzzles down the rest of her ale (waste not want not!) then puts it on the bar counter with another handful of coins. She's not even counting them anymore. "Thank you..." she tells Cryosanthia. "And thank you." She turns and tells Merek.. putting her hands together and bobbing her chin over them. "And thank you.." she tells Kaelyn, though what she's thanking her for is anyone's guess. Then she stumbles, rights herself by grabbing Kaelyn.. then grins. "Oh, you're soft!" Then she pulls away, and stumbles on towards the stairs leading to the rooms.

Kae blinks and watches Halani, after getting the soft thing... She blinks a few times more and shrugs "Yus, very very fluffy." She mutters, her feathers floofing a little bit before slicking back down..

Now she has her drink though! She is having a giant silly smile on her face as she looks it over and begins drinking slowly.

Merek looks then to Halani, with a nod, glad with the woman feeling better. "You be well, ah... Well," he notices she is drunk. He grunts a bit, then he nods to Cryo and Brae, "My apologies. Anyway, I feel like... Well, let's talk about things nicer'n demons, who all met the nice dragon that likes fish." He sips at the vodka and looks to Ezil, "I can assist with that. I feel like I should get everyone boots of the winterland!"

The sith pushes back against the chimera's paw on her back, as if she needs to feel Brealnoir's strength, that she quite literally has her back now. With the pressure, her tail loosens and slides away, and she stands as Halani gets up, to watch her take the stairs. She looks back finally to Ezil, saying, "She has similar issues as we do. Peace on your Nest, Blessed Follower of the Stars. I am doing better now. Sorry for leaving abruptly last night."

Cryo waves her hand around vaguely, "Merek used magic, this time it solved things. The Fernwood has steak and deer steak tonight. Did you find out why the wizard was looking for me?"

Ezil laughs as he raises a brow to Merek. "It would help, yes." he mentions, pausing for a moment. "How much would you need to make a pair, Merek?" he finally asks, coming in to the in proper, and motioning after Halani. "Everything okay, White-One?" he asks with a bit of concern to Cryosanthia. "I mean.... well. That's not good, but I understand? Mostly?" he really doesn't, but he lets the explanation slide.

"And then we have, Lady Braelnoir. How are you this evening?" speaking with a whimsical tone, finding a near chair to sit in. "Can I buy a round, or you guys about done?"

Nels comes in looking quite cross, stomps up to the bar, and orders a gunpowder-and-soda. Not many humans drink the goblin drinks, but then again, not many human places /serve/ the ... specialty goblin drinks.

Braelnoir arches an eyebrow, "I know gals that'd choke on their own guts if they heard me called 'Lady' anythin'." she returns to Ezil with a grin and a wink. She feels Cryosanthia push back against her paw and she rubs it along her back, making a concerted effort to keep the sharp things retracted, and continues, "How ya doin, luv?" she asks Ezil. She looks to Merek at his inquiry and replies, "I... heard about the fishy dragon, but... no, never seen it, m'self."

Cryo toe-taps, the foot talon clicking loudly on the floor. Her motions are more constrained than usual. Her sapphire eyes focus directly on Ezil, pupils wider than normal. Finally she says, "She was sent to a hell, made a pact with a demon to return, while investigating a town, much like you were. We were."

A topic that might concern her.

"Fishy dragon?" Her head turns almost right around on her neck to look at Braelnoir. She also stays where she can feel her paw, rubbing. It's welcome and calming.

The bartender gives Nels an odd glance, but fulfils the drink request setting it in front of her.

Merek looks then to Ezil while he takes a look at the tome he keeps with him, with a nod while he takes a seat with the man. "1,500 gold pieces will be the price for you, it'll take three days." The man looks to his vodka, taking a drink while he nods to Cryo and Brae, "These are demons, I actually have... A nice thing, that will assist with that." He then takes a motion to motion all three to him, while he smiles to Nels. Then he places three scrolls, one for each!

Kae blinks a few times and tilts her head "Fishy dragon?" Kae asks and is now looking around rapidly "Where? That one owes me inventions, and well the cost for fixing this place up after it intentionally blew up one of my inventions!" she says, and is lashing her tail asshe flails a bit.

Braelnoir shrugs, "I'unno, luvvies, I never seen it." she replies, but she looks to the scroll, completely indifferent to the ravaged nature of her attire. She glances sidelong at Nels as she rolls on up to the bar and gives her a nod, "Hey, luv. How ya feelin?" Then glances over toward Merek as the prezzies come out, looks at her paws, then, hmmm.....

Ezil makes a face, a peel of his lip, and a twinge to his nose. "Damn." his smile gone in a flash as he hears Cryosanthia's words. "That's a knock right on the door of the vardo, isn't it?" going still in his seat. "That was sobering, and I wasn't even drunk." his joke a bit flat as he takes the scroll from Merek with a puzzled expression.

"Well until a moment ago I was doing pretty okay. Now? I have a lot of questions." The Tsuran says bluntly, turning to look at Nels as they enter, offering a nod. "I'll be okay though, was mostly trying to find places I can park the mules, or I would of been in here a lot sooner." winking back to Braelnoir with a small smirk.

"Soon I might get with you, Merek. Real soon. I don't much like the weather." pausing then and offering a shrug to the small group. "I'm going to get a small-beer."

Nels smiles to the bartender, puts a few extra coins on the bar for him, and takes a deep pull. She looks around, spots a few people she knows, and waves, listening in to what's being discussed.

"Thank you Merek, for the scroll." Cryo says, somewhat used to things being slipped into her apron. She nods to Ezil, "A big small beer, coming up."

Nels gets a way also, "There is food still, meat stew, steak and deer steak, and vegetable things, should you wish some. The conversation topic tonight, is demons we know. Or perhaps, dragons."

She moves around Braelnoir, "It would have been nice to see you fight. Are you bruised under your scales?"

A nod, "Oh, yeah, took a proper beatin' out there, t'night." Brae replies with a little shrug and a smirk, "Gave some back, too. Probly gonna try an soak if I can get a bath drawn in a bit." That said, the chimera starts to work on her food with some gusto... but has to use her paws to bring the juicy meats to her face. There is a happy sigh, and her tailtips twitch with new energy.

Ezil pauses for a moment, still looking at that scroll. "Dragons? I told you all I met a tiny one a while back, but was told... it might be a celestial. Always something strange afoot here." smiling again after a moment, and tucking the scroll away. "Thank you, Merek. I will keep it with my potions." patting a satchel at his side.

"I could of gotten one myself, White-One." Ezil calls after her, but she does seem intent on it, and he doesn't bother too much. "Hey, you're not making anywhere near the mess. Things getting easier?" his attention shifting to Braelnoir.

Kae blinks and ooohs, waggling at Ezil... "Heeeey! So I experimented, tried hunting without using my guns!!! I finally got a couple too, once I figured it out!" She says happily and is nwo waggling her forelimbs like she would normally arms....

Nels shakes her head at Cryo's offer of food. "Not hungry," she huffs. "Some human guy at Ma Rosie's was hitting on me, and I told him to bugger off cause I was a guy and he got mad and said I'd tricked him. Tricked him into what? I was just drinking." She takes another belt of the drink, and says, "It's not like I had a choice." She peers at Kaelyn, grumbles.

GAME: Merek rolls fort: (8)+11: 19

"That... would be unpleasant." Cryo says, responding to Nels. "I will be back soon."

Cryosanthia flicks her fingers through an arcane gesture, then repeats it. The tattoos along her arm pulses twice, one of them more than the others. She points at Ezil, then Braelnoir, "I'm," "listening". Her voice echoes in a tiny way beside both of them, easily heard by others.

"I'll set the bath for you. It will be ready for when you are finished eating." As before, there's a quiet echo. She smoothly glides away from the bar and winds up the steps. As she gets to the top, she calls down, "Merek, did you make the armbands?"

Then she goes to set the bath.

Merek looks then to Cryosanthia, "I need to be paid first, else they won't be that happy about it, 120 gold I believe it is, either way I can make two for folk," he says.

Braelnoir blinks at Ezil and looks at her paws in mid-shovel. Hmm, "Huh. Think mebbe it is." she replies, admittedly, just a little dribbly, and she tucks in to really start getting her grub on. She blinks at the sudden spellcraft from Cryosanthia, and gives a, "Ah... thanks, luv!" She looks to Kaelyn and nods affirmingly, "Way t'go, girl!" She considers Nels for a moment and hmmm's, "Don't sweat th'little stuff, luv." Then, as Merek reminds her about the sleeves, "Yeah, 'bout that, I can cover that now if ya want."

Ezil nods his head to Braelnoir and shrugs. "Well, I shared what the device looks like from the drawings Kaelyn gave me. Maybe it will turn something up." he notes, looking to Kaelyn and raises a brow. "Hunting without your dragonspitters? Hells, I can barely hunt with my bow, let alone without it. That's impressive." huffing in surprise at that thought. "Seems we've all been busy the last few days." sitting back in his seat once more.

"So, proper beatings? What did you get into?" curious as he notes Nels' mood, and then looks back to Braelnoir. "I might need to find a bath myself. I smell a bit like a mule." even taking a moment to smell his clothes. "Oh, yeah... the one thing I didn't miss about a vardo."

Nels peers at Cryosanthia, then nods to Braelnoir. "That's what I said. But. Humans and /baths/," she glares at where Cryosanthia went. "They were complaining I ought to take one, I told them I'd get one next month, and they were all adamant about it. No one complained, before." She grumbles, but she apparently relented because she looks reasonably well washed. She hrms at Ezil, but says, "No, no beatings." Possibly because she carries around her thunderbelcher. It's a bit small for her, but entirely functional after she filed off the trigger guard. "I keep thinking I ought to make a full-sized one of these."

Merek looks between the people, while he nods a bit, "120 gold," which is what he mentions, then he smiles a bit as well. He does look to his vodka and food. With that he writes a few notes within the tome he keeps within that satchel.

"I'll give you the coin when I get back Merek," Two tiny, tinny Cryo voices stereo from beside Ezil and Braelnoir.

"Let me try my gloves on you Ezil, see what you think. They are neat."

A couple minutes later, the tiny stereos go off again. Random mouth-pop noises, then "Watching water, watching water. La la laH Lah la la.. oh oop! Sorry."

Braelnoir glances to Ezil, "Was trainin' at the Colloseum, sharpenin' m'claws if ya will." she explains, "An' mostly gettin' m'ass kicked." she grins with a 'what can ya do?' sort of shrug. She must have been hungry, as she cleans her plate awful fast, then washes it down with a lot of her beer. Nel's observation makes the chimera shrug, "It's just how we are, luv." She cants her head with Cryo's vocal performance, then shrugs and slips down off her stool, "I'ma go gather that up fer ya, luv." She lightly touches Ezil, then Merek, "Gonna get up there while th'waters hot, unknot some of these muscles, some. I'll send Cryo down with the coin, ok?" She looks over her shoulder to Nels, "Take care, luv." She approaches Kaelyn for a moment and smiles, "You too, Kae!" With that all covered, the chimera waves a paw and makes her way a mite stiffly up the stairs.

"Like.... magical clean?" Cryo's disembodied voive causing Ezil to laugh. "I'll try it, but...." his glance shooting to Nels. "I mean, I like the bath really. I don't begrudge others. Just... like them myself." shrugging as then looks to Merek. "So, did someone need gold for something?" pausing as Braelnoir makes her move to leave. "Rest well, and soak up. Apparently I am getting a special treatment." winking to Braelnoir and waving after her.

Merek smiles a bit up to Brae, while he nods a bit, then he offers a wave as well. Then he's back to his work with the tome, and leaning back to begin making designs for what they asked about.

Nels waves to Braelnoir, and calls to Cryosanthia, "It's just different for goblins. Maybe it's a goblin thing, I dunno." She takes another pull of her drink. "Magical clean?" she mutters to herself with a shudder of disgust.

Kae looks up and blinks "Buh?" She had navigated her self back by the fire...

Kae then glances around some and ummsm "Soo I either go to my room or go sleeps here.." She mutters then grins at everyone.. "See y'all laters, I go to mah room!" She says and well, yeah she'd try to even give Cryo a hug, really it kind of involves a forelimb and her neck and all but well she tries!!!

"Y'keep that stiff upper lip and stuff! I'm sure you can finds yer self a wizard who will help ya with the bad oens!" She says happily, then when she lets go, the floof dragon waggles a forelimb at everyone, gives a biiig snaggle-toothed grin and trots up stairs.

Except... Cryosanthia... isn't there! The hug will have to be given upstairs.

Only one tiny Cryo voice speaks now, her only presence, beside Ezil. The other having gone up with Braelnoir. Presumably she's getting a little echo in person, as a conversation starts. "Hi Braelnoir, the bath is just about ready. Nice and warm. Do you need some help?"

"No, I can only hear the person on the other end, so it's a bit one-sided. They can hear everything I say. It's a fun spell."

"Probably. I don't want to interupt whatver they're talking about. Oh wait! Ezil, yes. Magical Clean! Deep cleaning. I told you about it yesterday. Ask about the bracers Merek is making. They're neat."

"Okay. This looks like 120."

"I would. Thank you, so much." Tinny Cryo sounds very about something, "Let me run these down. Call me when you're done. I'll be able to hear you still."

Merek takes from the pocket of his a pack of what looks like special goblin cigarillos, black and filled with tabac in it, while he lights that up. He then looks to Ezil and tries to listen to the voice as well. He then nods to the man, "You name it, I'll make whatever it is." There's a light little drag while he wafts the smoke away.

Ezil nods smirking as Merek takes out that smoke. "Always got something a bit fancier than I, eh? I roll my own, but those look a bit pricey." musing as Cryo's voice makes him laugh. "Magical clean it is." he notes, looking then to Nels. "Yeah, sorry about what happened to ya... that's got to be a little confusing. We won't make you bathe though. So don't worry." then focusing back on business with Merek. "I almost have the coin for those boots. I might take you up on that offer in a couple of weeks. If it gets too warm, can always wait till next winter to drag them out." he muses.

Nels realizes she's getting in at the tail end of the conversation, but asks Merek, "What is it that you're making? Some kind of magic thing, but what specifically?" She glowers at Ezil, and says, "It's too late for that, isn't it?"

"Hi Kaelyn, uff!" Tiny-Cryo says. A minute later Cryo is coming down the steps, sideways and cross-stepping so she has more space for her feet. She heads over to Merek and stacks out Braelnoir's payment on the bar.

She turns her attention on Ezil next, with a wide grin that shows a lot of her teeth. Lining up, she checks that Nels won't be caught in the effect. "Okay, this should be good, just stand there."

The white-scale holds up her hands, showing off the white-scaled leather gloves that match her. She makes a few arcane gestures and the gloves glow, she makes circular wiping motions at Ezil. A faint sensation of warmth washes over the man as she keeps it up, and he can see dirt on his clothes fading away. The clean seems to go deeper, minor itching in the hair, definitely the scent of the mules, but his personal one as well, vanish. Then, it's done. "So what do you think? Neat?"

Nels shudders at Cryo's demonstration of magical power, and she's relieved to be out of the area of effect of that curse. Finishing her drink, she will head out.

Merek looks then to Cryosanthia when she's back, then he takes the money, placing that into a little coin pack he keeps. Watching the magic in thought, he does begin to take what looks like magical material from the satchel, then he begins to check the crystals which he keeps. He lifts that up to Cryosanthia, while he looks to the magicite. It begins glowing a little white, then he begins to weave.

Merek does add a bit to Ezil, "It's fancy from the goblins, you want a few?"

Ezil had not thought to feel all the hairs on his body stand on end, but as that magic works it's effect, he shudders. "It... felt.... interesting." tingles still felt against his flesh. "I mean..." smelling himself, and looking at his hands after. "That really works, but... wow. I can see why you wanted those." he muses, looking back to Merek. "It's not as good as a bath, but it does wonders. I've never felt so clean without water."

At the mention of the cigarillos, Ezil nods, taking out a small case from a pouch on his belt and flipping it open. It has some home-rolled, as the tsuran doesn't seem to be joking. He doesn't spend much coin on his vices. "I can't say no, but I will have to find a way to pay you back."

The white-scale sith nods, still keeping her grin, "I told you, gets everything, even scale mites."

"Wha't'r scale mites?" Tiny Brealnoir's voice sounds off beside Cryo.

"Oh. I'll explain later. It's something you'll want to know about. I don't want the softskins hearing."

"Anyhow, I've love these, the cleaning function is great, the other things they can do are pretty nice too." Cryosanthia rocks her head from side to side, bouncing on her feet a little.

Merek offers a few cigarillos to Ezil, then he nods to Cryo, "Well, you can pay me back by buying me vodka," he says. Then he's thinking about it while he looks to the two, "I am attuning the magicite to the sleeves. I will have my design logo upon it, won't get in the way."

"Sure, vodka." Cryo says, moving towards the bar and picking out a bottle. When he mentions his design logo, she stiffens. "I want my Arcane Mark on them, it's here."

She taps at the bar, where there's a Dragon Eye that is spelled with the letters Cryo.

"It has it's uses. I have to admit... I'm impressed." Ezil says, standing, and looking about the room. He puts those cigarillos away, and tucks the case into his beltpouch. "What are you two about to do? I have to find a place to put the vardo for the evening. It might Jerboba uncomfortable, but now he can hide in there as I go about business."

"You can put your sigil on it, mine will not get in the way, as said, also can be made not to show up, I can also take that from it completely," Merek says, "I don't need it now, I will take a bit of vodka though." He looks between the two, "I will probably be doing what I do all night, find work. I might know a few places."

Cryosanthia pours a large glass of vodka, and places it in front of Merek. She nods, "Okay. I don't like other's marks on me. I have enough. That sounds fine."

"I'll be sleeping here. Braelnoir will need some fingers. Maybe in the morning as well. I'll feel safer, with company, in the Fernwood. If there's a problem, Kaelyn isn't too far away too. Be careful with Jerboba in your Vardo. He might leave a lingering presence, such that you'll never feel rid of him."

Ezil shakes his head, smirking. "I don't think he'd dare defile a spot dedicated to my goddess, but... we'll see." his glance going between the two. "I better get back to it then. You two have a good evening." seeming to be on his way.

Ezil shakes his head, smirking. "I don't think he'd dare defile a spot dedicated to my goddess, but... we'll see." his glance going between the two. "I'll leave you to it then. I better get back to things." smiling, and giving a stretch. "Now that I don't have to bathe."

Merek looks between the two, and nods a bit, "I'll come with you, if you like," he says to the man, looking then to Cryosanthia while he chugs that vodka, "Thank you," he says, nodding a bit. "You're coming along well. He does check the satchel while he considers, "I'll see about making you a potion for water breathing, you can test it, see if you like the product!" To the sith-makar.

"Peace on your Nests. I'm coming up now Braelnoir." Cryosanthia cleans up the glasses around the bar, then makes a small curtsey to the pair. She smiles at Merek, "I'm not sure what you mean, but I look forward to what you make. Braelnoir, what colour do you want your bracers to be?"

Braelnoir's voice answers beside her.

"Sleep well, and Ezil, perhaps we can find someone at the Iron Book tomorrow to help Hanali."

The palescale turns and takes the stairs, her tail wriggling behind her as she does.

Dramatis Personae

Amythyst
Standing 5'2" the woman has long black hair that flows to her shoulders. She has large, deep blue eyes sitting over high cheekbones. She has an angular face with full, red lips underneath a small pert nose. She usually seems like she's smiling.
She has dark colored skin and usually wears minimal clothing. Usually a short shirt and a pair of shorts, with a pair of long boots.

Halani
Halani has the dusky skin and almond shaped eyes typical of the Hin. It's only a closer look which reveals the mixed pedigree; lighter coloured eyes, a slightly less delicate bone structure, slightly fuller lips to name a few. She is on the smaller side, with half of her dark hair done in a long braid reaching almost all of the way down her back. The rest of it tends to curl around her cheeks and jaw, framing her face when it isn't osbcuring it.
She is garbbed in loose fitting robes which have been dyed dark blue. The leggings are baggy, though they narrow down by her feet to be stuffed into soft, yet warm looking leather boots. The robes are sleeveless, revealing arms with well toned muscles and a few violet markings in the form of circles and swirls running down her forearms. A black sash, decorated with small bronze discs, is tied around her hips serving as a belt to keep the robes closed.
The robes alone might have suggested an austere existance. This notion is dispelled by the several bracelets Halani wears on each wrist and the necklace of multi-coloured beads partially covering the vee of the neckline of her robes.
Two pairs of wooden handles attached by small chains are tucked into her sash.

Cryo waits.
<OOC> Halani says, "And that is my story about how I was eaten by a lizardwoman."

Braelnoir
Another day in the big city.
A curious figure, this, possessed of facial features fitting an Acanian woman of perhaps twenty years with fine, even features and stern eyebrows over wolflike amber eyes. Raven hair, knife shorn to a toussled shag, fluffs out from her scalp to drape down and obscure most of her shoulderblades. Her torso largely carries to a human shape, with slightly broader shoulders, suggesting perhaps an additional Aesir heritage, though her arms are more muscular, ending at shimmering leonine forepaws, and her legs crook into a hooved deerlike format a little past her calves. Around the base of her spine, a long, slender tail extends about two and a half feet before splitting in two; capped after two more feet with spaded tips. A multitude of miniscule silver scales turns her skin in a somewhat clouded mirror, save where a smooth, bone white scar from a brand rules the knot of muscle at her right shoulder, framing the silhouette of a howling skull within the outline of a heart. Her voice is a smokey tennor, accented to the particulars of Stormgarde. The only 'jewelry' upon her person is a copper earring in her left ear, from which dangles a small brass skeleton, and an ornate gold ring around one of the digits of her left forepaw.
In light of recent regrettable developments, hanging from her neck by a leather thong is a small placcard with the words, 'I am not a monster' over the stamp of the City Watch.
She has taken some pains, perhaps with assistance, to modify and affix a short, rather plain cotton dress to her altered personage. The ragged hems of the short sleeves and skirt suggest some difficulties in managing this solo.
