  • Title: Moving in with Mikilos
  • Emitter: Cryosanthia
  • Characters: Cryosanthia, Sabina, Mikilos, Sandy
  • Place: A15: Mithralla Merchandise
  • Time: Thursday, April 30, 2020, 8:50 PM
  • Summary: After meeting Eclavdran strolling about the marketplace, Cryosanthia has decided it's time to live with a powerful mage again, and with the help of Sabina, moves all her things to Mithralla merchandise and begs Mikilos to let her stay. The Dawn Elf wizard agrees, and reshapes a guest room to the sith's liking, including the bed, while describing the wonderful sauna and balcony options that are available. As this is going on, Lady Sandiel 'Sandy', drops in to complete the powerful visitations for the day. She is complaining about a recent Crimson Pen subscription. While Cryo often has a lot to do with them, she hasn't in this particular case and leaves to bask on the balcony. Sabina seems ready to perform all Sandy related stories the next time she's in a bar, and Mikilos pleads innocence, and then Sandy leaves.

Here, a large wooden structure has been built. Its somewhat eccentric yet elegant design suggests its owner may be of the arcane persuasion. To the side of the main structure is a small corral to for horses or wagons. Before the central building, a massive sword emerges from the earth. A sign upon it reads: "MITHRALA MERCHANDISE."

Inside is a small seating area with several comfortable chairs. To the back, an unobtrusive but businesslike sales counter, and two large signs. One asks patrons to please wait here and not disrupt those inside the lab. The other offers a lab rental at a very reasonable rate.

To the left and right are a large set of doors. The doors on the right lead to a large room which takes up most of the building. Several long tables are scattered about, many with small tool racks. A small forge sits off to the side. Unlike the average workshop, maps of celestial bodies and guides to the elemental planes line the walls. Large frameworks of brass, silver, and crystal occupy space between the tables. A large shelf dominates the far wall, the containers upon it sporting such labels as "wyvern bile," "sulfur," "tiger's tears," and other exotic items. A glass-covered hole in the roof, set with mirrors, offers direct sunlight, or moonlight, to shine upon various projects.

The doors to the left lead towards the direction of the mountains and what is reported to be a sildanyari-style ball room. Wizards.

During regular store hours, a young Llyranesi man, Belhan Mithralla, keeps an eye on the shop and the lab. When not cleaning or helping a customer, he can usually be found reading some book from the library.

Cryosanthia enters Mithralla Merchandise looking more like a wizard than ever. Her layered robes are quite convincing, but it's the large number of books she's carrying. She seems to have all the things she was using to research with at the Temple of Daeus. At least, everything she was allowed to borrow. She's also an assistant, following with a peacock on her shoulder, also with books. In addition to the literature, she appears to have all her gear, her old weapons and armour, and even the self-heating teapot that Mikilos left in her room. It looks like she's moved out.

"Mikilos... I was wondering... could I stay with you until Zeke is found? There's... not many secrets I have left, you know almost everything about me now."

Belhan Mithralla, the assistant shop keeper, looks up from his spot behind the counter. "....um? You're loooking for counsin Mik? I think he's down in one of the labs right now. You're... you're moving in?"

Sabina strugles with the books and the peacock. A tad red-faced with the walk the two had to get here from where they were and looking greatful for the pause in the trek. Or really the end of their journey.

She looks ammusedly at Cryo's sudden announcement and question about moving in. "You may want to start with 'hello' and 'By the way the following has happened' before you ask to move in? Just a thought." She chuckles and takes her time looking about the place through the mithral mask apon the upper part of her face. One styled as a coyote. "That and saying such to the master of the house?"

"Yes... yes..." Cryosanthia looks between Sabina and Belhan, "Hello. Then, could we go down to the labs? So I can ask him?"

Belhan shakes his head. "Best not. I'll send a message, let him know someone's here." The elf fiddles with a few things behind the counter. "Depending on just what he's doing, may be here in moments, or could be hours." He smiles reasuringly. "Moments is far more likely."

The masked woman gives Belhan a pleading look. "Can I at least set these down somewhere? They're heavy." Well. A shared question to both Belhan and Cryo, complete with batting lashes. "Pleaaaase?"

"Sure, there's some seats over here, while we're waiting." Cryosanthia doesn't move towards them though. She watches Belhan instead, her tail hanging behind her, "I'm Cryosanthia. I'm sorry I haven't introduced myself. Things aren't great. This is Emperor Stupendous, and his slinky, silvery stand, Sabina."

Belhan nods, just as Mikilos enters in though the back hall, offering greetings to the three. "Hello Cryosanthia, Sabina, Stuendous. What brings you all by?" The wizard glance to the other elf. "I was on my way up. There's still time if you were going to grab some dinner, I've got things covered here."

Bina tsks lightly as she sets her load down. "Lord Emp. Though he thinks he's stupendous." She pets the bird on her shoulder. "Isn't that right." The bird lets out one of it's strange sounding cries and pecks at her fingers. "Exactly."

She makes a small curtsey to Mikilos in greeting. "Nice to meet you."

"Mikilos..." The sith's expressions are a lot easier for the dawn elf to understand now. She looks desperate, strained, and keeping herself together with a large amount of will. "Eclavdran took Merek and Kira from the Market. He simply appeared, walked through the crowd, forced Darius to choose someone to go to hell and he picked Merek and Kira went along too for some reason."

Cryo is shaking her head, "The Mistress had nothing to do with it this time, but, it's too much after yesterday. I can't even go for a walk with something happening, the Temple isn't safe. Can I stay here with you, until we find Zeke, where it's safe. You know what it will be like to have me around."

She turns and gestures at Sabina, "My friend suggested we try scrying for Zeke, or my Mistress, or the Tower, with my connections to them. Oh, and Lord Emp is so extravagant I call him an Emperor of a different thing each time.

Mikilos frowns mildly, and nods. "Sounds like I missed some important events. I'll want to know the details of what happened, but that can wait. For now, certainly, I can convert one of the guest rooms for your use easy enough." He considers a moment. "How do you feel about saunas? I'm familiar with your aura, but not sure your preferance."

Bina grins at Cryo's announcement of titles. The rest of her news before that was grin free though. She reaches up and plucks the bird from her shoulder and sets it on the floor to wander, rolling her now much lighter shoulder about with a sigh.

"Saunas?" Cryosanthia has a blank expression for a moment, as she thinks about the word and how she's heard it used, and what it means, "Oh! Those are lovely, yes, when they're wet it's like Am'shere! Without the bugs. This one can't go as hot as most sith, but for lying or siting that would be wonderful. Chilling everything around me is kind of new... I was always cool but it got stronger since I had the plague... again."

"I appreciate you letting me stay here. The area is protected? All of it or only certain rooms." The sith is ready with her bags to be led anywhere.

Mikilos nods. "I'll put you next to Val's room then. Should only take a few moments to change the bed into something more comfortable for a Sith. If you prefer, there's also the patio up the mountain side, catches the cool beeze even in the depths of summer. I havn't been up there for a while, I imagine it's still icy at the moment. You're perfectly welcome to make use of either, or both as it suits you, just not positive which you'd favor being closer to." The mag sighs. "As for protection, the whole area has minor wards. Little more than 'keep out' signs. The layers of stone make a solid physical barrier, and there;s a few minor enchantments, but anything really powerful is hard to maintain long term." He considers a few moments. "Will take some time, but could put a layer of lead around the room, block the majority of magical effects, such as scrying."

Bina picks the books and other things back up and follows the pair as they talk. The priestess is interested in the place and her brows rise as Mikilos talks about wards and protections. "Wow. You have a very nice place. And to be able to change it so readily. You're influential then as well?" She asks.

"The room then, with the lead. The patio sounds lovely and I might visit, maybe to give Her nothing to watch, but a room I can feel secure in would help. I still need to think... everything I remember. I've got the protection spell you saw, but it doesn't last long. A bed suitable for a sith would be greatly appreciated." Cryosanthia says, following, then she grins at Sabina.

"Didn't you know? He's... ah... I should not tease when begging favours. He's really important!"

Mikilos chuckles, nodding to Sabina. "I'm a wizard. I spent years tracking down this place, preparing the stone, planning out how to fit all the various parts I'd want together. Shapeing stone is a simple enough spell, and I've had lot of practice. And conjuring a few elementals to help usually makes the work go a lot faster." He frowns mildly, nodding to Cryo. "Will take a day or two for me to get enough lead, shape it to sheets, and get them installed. It's highly resistant to magic, and more than a little heavy, so will take time. Thankfully only a very thin layer is needed." He heads into the depper halls, crystals set into the wall lighting up as the group approaches. "You might run across a guardian of some sort, I don't think any are around but they run on their own times with their own ideas. Just tell them you're a guest and should be fine. I'm also not expecting any family to drop by, but that never stops them. Val might drop in as well, but I don't know her plans either."

Brows stay raised as he lists off powerful things, to her anyway, in a casual manor. "So don't aggrivate the mage. Understood. Very clearly at that too." She chuckles and continues to follow them towards the mentioned room. "Guardian? Wow.. You really do have some pull. Perhaps I should hang about and soak up a few bits of learning at some point."

Cryosanthia carries her things and nods it seems with each step. It's a lot of impressive information to take in. She looks at the walls as she goes, with a bit of a smile, "You've done great work, I'll remember that for the guardians. Oh, I would like a small bed for Faran. I need to find her also. Scales, she has no idea so many things have happened. Val, is your clutch-sister? I think you spoke of her before. Mikilos has the most amazing library Sabina. And a wonderful dance room."

The sith watches the lights as they switch on, "It's beautiful."

Mikilos is walking with the other in the back tunnels, haeding to one of the guests rooms for Cryo. They've only recently left the front rooms, easy enough to chase down if one so needed. Mikilos chuckles, looking to Sabina. "I've been at this for a long time. Different research projects, quests and such. Lot of loose ends and old favors they repay when they happen to feel like it. Elementals, xorn, things like that. Nothing really powerful, but it keeps away the casual burgulars and vargants. And not as if it's a constant sort of thing. One drops by for a few minutes, maybe every other month or so, usually looking for a fresh prspective on whatever problem they happen to be having. I help out where I can, try to point them towards someone better qualified if I can't."

He grins to Cyrosantiha. "Val in a ranger, auburn hair and a silver cresent under her eye. We've been dating off and on for.... four, five years? Something like that, I've lost track."

Sabina tries to lower her brows behind her mask but is having a hard time of it. "Um.. You do realize you're casually talking about creatures I've never heard of? What's a Xorn? Wait.. nevermind. If I'm ever allowed into your library I'll find out for myself." She laughs aloud at the situation and herself.

"Ooooooooo!" The whitescale grins, hearing Val's description. She looks very bright eyed, "I do hope to meet her then! And, those guarding sound amazing. Well I did say he was important Sabina."

Cryo's tail wags happily as she walks. There's a chance here, and she's feeling safe. And... maybe in an odd way a mage that reshapes their living space is a part of it.

Mikilos leads to a series of room, or at least, doors set into the wall. The first on the left is opened, within a simple, if well made a fairly large room. more mage lights provide illumination, with a high domed ceiling and shelves set into the walls. A fair sized bed sits in the corner, really little more than a stone slabe with a matress and blankets. "If there's anything particular you need or want, let me know I'll see what I can do. There's a kitchen area just off the main hall juncture, but it's really not set up. Most guests just head down to town or keep snacks in their room, and I usually don't eat."

Sabina steps into the room after Cryo does and sets the items she was carrying for the Sith down. "He has a place that changes to his whim. He has friendly creatures come seek him out for assistance on otherworldly matters. He has wards set about his home. And he doesn't normally eat." She dusts off her hands and offers a look to 'the sky', "What is a mere mortal woman to do, Tarien? Tell me."

Cryosanthia follows in, "it looks great. I love the ceilings. I bet I could get up there. Bed looks great too, I might want a bit of a wave in it and I'll see what I can do with the kitchen. You should eat more."

The sith moves in, putting her bag of books near the shelves so she can unload them later. "A desk would be nice, to write, spread some books out. When you put the other changes in."

Cryo leans her head over to Sabina, loud-whispers, "He likes them taller, you'll need to get high boots. You already smell of books though, so that's good. He has that ranger beau, so, you might have a challenge." She loves giving advice!

So, there's Sandy. She's stepped into the shop with her eyes searching. Searching for Mikilos.

She jabs a finger at him. "YOU," she says, pointing. Immediately. There's something on her mind. Some obvious grievance!

Mikilos laughs, nodding to Sabina. "You're only mortal if you die. Which I don't reccomend by the way, very unplesant." He heads over to the bed, pulling a small lump of clay from one of his pockets, kneeding it between his fingers as he talks. "Gave up eating after the seige in Sendor. We spent months hiding in the sewers, half frozen, starving. One of the first things I did after the war was make myself a magic ring, sustans me, so never have to eat again." The warmed up clay is molded into the shape of the bed and wall, then the wizard casts a spell, and begind molding the clay again... and the stoen shapes itself to match. The bed sinking and widening, turning into a nest, more than a bed. A slab pools out from the wall, just above waist level. Will need a stool or chair, but should work fine for a desk.

Blinking at the unexpected voice, the wizard turns to look towards the source. "Me?" he asks innocently. Too innocent. He practiced that in front of a mirror. So innocent. Kittens. "Lady Sandiel! What an unexpected surprise. How may I be of assistance?"

Sabina laughs merrily at Cryo's advice. "Now, Cryosanthia. One must be as one is or only heart-ache will be the end result. But..I do enjoy a good challenge every now and again." She peers over at Mikilos briefly, "I think he may be out of my league though." She false whispers back.

And then..Suddenly Sandy! "Oh! Hello there! It's the unsmiling one from the pub. Greetings Sandy."

From afar, Kira will be sure to take good care of him if she does! "Or we'll be taking turns vivisecting one another? Would that be awkward? Hey, girl! Your cihuaa really is beautiful on the inside, too!"

"Oh wow, oh yes! That will work great!" Cryosanthia is quite delighted at the nest, and not surprisingly, Mikilos seems to know exactly how she'd prefer it. The desk also, is a suitable height. She bounces her weight a little, watching things change."

At the voice, the whitescale sith turns, blinking to see Lady Sandiel. "Which pub? The Fernwood? How was the service?"

"Smiles are terrible," is what Sandy says to Sabina, dryly, before turning back to Mikilos. She pulls a book from her coat interior and shoves it at Malik. "WHAT IS THE MEANING OF THIS?" She demands. It seems to be a crimson covered book. "I don't recall ordering *any* of these bloody books and they arrived at my doorstep this morning. I thought I told you *no*. I'm not signing the stupid things!"

Mikilos frowns mildly, eyeing the crimson text. "...I didn't send you any books. They may be trash, but all books deserve better than that. Besides, I already met with the Queen of Air and Night. She didn't want the books either, though they did help out in the end... I think Doyle kept them. He seemed the type."

Bina blinks and watches the back and forth, her eyes going to the book. Leaning far over to the side she takes the book, unless stopped, and starts flipping through the pages.

"Oh is my story in there?" Cryosanthia peers around Mikilos, to look at the red books, then Sandy, "I wrote a great one about him and the Fae Queens. Well. I liked it. You should read it?" Her tail swishes hopefully.

The sith waves at the empty shelves, "Books are nice, I could make those look less empty if you didn't want them at all."

"There are /terrible/ stories in here," says Sandy, solemnly, to Cryosanthia. She eyes Sabina. Oh no.

There's a Tarienite and she's holding a book full of Terrible Stories, and what's worse, now she knows they exist. "You... need to forget you heard anything," she says, firmly, to her. Then she eyes back to Mikilos. "Say what now?"

Mikilos glances to Cryo and shrugs. "Can't say I cared for the topic, but the writting itself was above average. Most are just... drivel, with flowery adjectives crammed in at random. Yours at least followed a solid narative with believeable characters... well, believeable if you've met the source material."

He glances to Sandy. "Fae Queen. She didn't like the books. Sliced off part of my arm, took an eye from Darius, half blinded Kira, let me borrow her sword. Very lovely, in a dark, terrible sort of way. You might have liked her. Was an educational trip."

Sabina seems very interested in what she's reading. Pausing only when Miki speaks of the wonderful time had at the Queen's place. Then it's back to the book and she makes an 'ohh' face before smiling. "And then taking his.. to play about her..." She fans her face. "Ohhh myyyy!"

"She took Seldan's memories as well, so I could have mine back." Cryosanthia adds, exhaling a visible breath, "and that went so well afterwards. Thanks, for the kind words. I was working a few things out when I wrote it."

"I think Sabina said she performs them in pubs. That never occured to me. I do most of my things a little free-form." The white sith explains.

Sandy stares at Mikilos for a long moment. She then slowly raises her hand and puts it over her face. It lays ther for a moment. Her ears twitch.

"I could have told you that. Dealing with the Fey is always a truly terrible idea and I have no idea why ou seriously thought it was." She then grimaces and continues, "but if you didn't send me this nonsense, who did?" She looks down at the book she's holding. It's definitely one of the Crimson Pen's truly terrible stories, that's for sure.

Mikilos shrugs mildly. "Sometimes terrible is what you need. I need to kill an Immortal. That makes for some very limited options. As for the books, I don't know. You have a lot of fans, might be one of them. Did any sort of message come with the books?"

Bina's grin tries to strech ear to ear. She giggles and prances from one foot to the other as she reads and nods to Cryo's statement about reading them aloud. "Late at night at a bar in the sketchy section of town they /really/ adore a good story reading. It's a wonderful time to be had by all. Want to come to the next one I do, Sandy? I have the one I want to read right here." She wiggles the book in her hands and then starts searching for a writen note in the book or perhaps an inscription at the front.

Cryosanthia's eye ridges rise, she stands straight, staring at Sabina, "Yes. You should!"

"Mikilos, Lady Sandiel, this one is going to go check out the balcony, I'll be back soon. Do enjoy the performance." Rather smoothly and elegantly for her size, the whitescale curls and flows out of the room, disappearing into the mansion. Her light footsteps fade.

Sandy just *eyes* Sabina. She eyes her. Warily. She jabs a finger at her. "No," she tells her, firmly. "Whatever you're thinking you can drop it right now!" She jabs her finger in her direction again. This is terrible news. It's also a sure way to get Sabin to do something dreadful.

Mikilos considers. "Are you sure you didn't order the books yourself, and then just, repress the memory or something?"

Giggling like a madwoman Sabina snaps the book shut and tucks it under an arm. Scooping and snagging up her bird she's already moving out the door. And she can moove /very/ fast when she puts a mind to it. Her voice calling out and echoing behind her. "Sorrrrryyyy! Can't do that! Just think of all the happy faces and the smiles it will gift to others! Bu-byeeeeeee!"

"...yes," says Sandy, firmly, to Mikilos. She whirls about and goes to head out the door herself. She's not happy!

Mikilos ehs, and heads out himself. Mental note to find a stool for Cryo's desk. Which takes him teh same direction as the exit, for now. "When did the books show up, by the way? And does Svarshan know anything about them? He's the only one who springs to mind who might dare a prank, but doesn't really seem his style."

"THIS MORNING AND NO," yells Sandy over her shoulder. She is annoyed. And now she's stomping home!
