  • Summary: It's an evening out at the Tarrace. Cryosanthia is putting on a show, while Lily and Tenoc sit and watch. They are soon joined by Mikilos, and later by Merek. Cryo's song is about the impermanence of Man and his achievements, a catchy re-working of the Ozzymandius poem. It's well received and she leaves the stage to converse with her friends. There's a little catching up with Merek, he's been busy. Tenoc talks about legendary Sith'makar chieftains from Am'shere, ascending into Godhood. Cryo finally remembers to ask Mikilos about the DRAGON HORDE he found, and the dragon that perhaps came along with it? Hopefully? Yes? Turns out the dragon was undead, and the horde partially an illusion and guarded by wights, with a hitch-hiking ghost. Extra-planar treasure is discussed, and Cryo shows off some of hers, which is a magical crossbow she retrieved from Kor's Endless battlefield when she was plane hopping in Augustus' house. Tenoc's stomach growls mightily, and Cryo asks when he last ate, as not-eating seems to be a thing of half the table. He relents, saying it has been a few days, and she orders food. Fade to Food.

Inside, this two-story structure has been almost completely opened up. Generous windows on both stories allow daytime sunlight and cooling night breezes to flow in as needed, while the brick walls have been whitewashed - contrasting with the dark-stained beams and supports, and the rich polish on the wooden floor. A broad strip of stone runs from the entrance to a framed doorway set into the opposite wall, with a sign above the lintel declaring that the baths are to be found that way.

The ground floor is sprinkled with tables and chairs of assorted sizes, offering welcome to guests both large and small. One whole corner of the building - into which guests are not permitted entry - has been given over to the kitchen, which serves as the domain of the famed monster chef Ligum Serforus. Mundane meals are available, but the chef delights in offering up obscure dishes made from the freshest of monster ingredients.

Opposite the kitchen a small bar runs in front of an array of shelves, displaying a broad selection of beverages (most of them alcoholic). The bar-top has been fashioned from what looks to have been old pieces of armor, fused and welded together before being polished to provide a near-smooth finish. Set above it, three human-sized statues have been built into an alcove in the wall: Tarien, Rada and Ceinara jointly keep benevolent watch over the room and its occupants.

To the right of the entrance, a small stage offers a platform for a handful of performers at a time. To the left of the door, a spiral staircase of wrought iron winds its way up to a balcony dining area, that is chiefly reserved for special events and parties.

It's evening in the Tarrace, and that often means dinner and a show.

Tonight, the show seems to be Cryosanthia. The whitescale Sith'makar is up on stage with the musicians. Her swashbuckling outfit has been swapped out for a dress which is rather form fitting and has some strategic enhancements of feathers. Her arms have a row of straight pinions, suggesting wings, and she has a fluffy set across her chest. It's tight fitting down her legs, with a slit up one side as high as her knee.

Lily is sitting at a table where she can see her Sith'mom, and has a small plate in front of her to keep her there. She also has a glass with a straw and a lid on it, so it's harder - but not impossible - to spill.

And as added guarantee-- Tenoc stands to one side of Lily as she dines/plays/watches, stern gaze kept to the room as he ponders for yet another time-- so many strange *smells*! With added confusion for remarkable, fancy dress for the stage's pale-hued performer-- feathers, yes, but the rest? It is a mystery!

But duty is duty, and the Hunter maintains proper decorum, long spear at hand in this most wholly uncivilized of places-- the Softskin city!

...and the occasional small treat for certain Little Fang. Apple, this time-- local fruit, not of Am'shere.

A red-haired gnome, dressed in a fine business suit, makes his way across the floor, weaving between tables at a swift stroll to the sith table, hopping up on a stool with barely a pause. "Peace unto your nest Little Fang, Hunter Tenoc. I hope you are both well this eve." His scent may be familiar... a pich of sulfur, bit of herb, and a dash of hot iron. A Wizard smell. <draconic>

"Peaasss!" Lily says, grinning eagerly at the red-haired and looking a little like a cayman crocodile. So many teeth presented. She leans in, small nostrils flaring as she inhales wizard smells. This is not a tiny humaniod to take advantage of, she decides, he smells dangerous and Ssassa would not like it. The Kobold instincts are strong however, so a being her size gets extra attention. She's almost forgotten her food!

Up on stage, the whitescale is showing off her tail as her back is turned while she speaks with the musicians. "Okay, let's try it in the key of G, can you give me that?"

A tone is played. She nods and makes a humming noise, then turns to face the Tarrace. "Greetings, and Peace on your Nests! This one has a little song for your enjoyment."

Tap-tap-tap-tap. The music starts up behind her.

The Hunter glances at the gnome suspiciously. Suspiciously! Struggles not to glance down at his own feet, as if boots or shoes or some other strange foot-covering might suddenly appear along his scaly talons.

"...ssk. This one greets you," he rumbles in reply, eyes clicking back to the performance stage, back to Lily, ouyt to-- well, everything. Watch everywhere at once! "Though also--" He glances back to the gnome, eyes suddenly sharp. Sniffasniff! "...how may this one assist?" he adds, rumblikng quietly.

Absent tail-thump to music. Catchy! Thumpa-rustle-thump.

Mikilos chuckles, and runs a hand thru his hair, which flows and shifts to his regular strawberry locks, as his body swells like a baloon. One of the long noodle baloons, rather than the regular round sort, swiftly reaching his regular over-tall elven self. "Nothing specific, I'd just heard Cryosanthia was putting on a performance, and came to see for myself."

"Yaaassss." Lily says, waving at Cryo on the stage. Her Sith'mom grins back, wobbling her head, her hips winding up and getting her tail into the beat, slapping the stage on either side of her. Thump-Thump-Thump-Thump.

Cryo starts to sing:

Sommmme BODY once told me,
His works he'd like to show me...
He thought they'd fill me with awe and dread.

Her words pace evenly with the beats of the music.

He was looking kind of dumb
Just two legs out in the sun
And his VISage a bro-ken stone head.

Tenoc stares at the stretching and shifting of the elven mage, eyes widening briefly as he fills out once more. He rumbles pleasantly, bowing to the Archmage. And pauses-- head tilted to music! Thumpa-thumpthump.

"This is truth, Sharp-eared Wise One. It was thought....sssk. To bring civlized things to Selmolik Alesss-- A'liksss-- 'lssrrrsssn...." He pauses as his word stretches out into a tongue-tied hiss. He chuffs, snorting to himself; giving the young foundling a glance of mock-reproach as she giggles at him, he shakes out a shivery motion, rumbling evenly. "...to softskins. Ssspeaker is wiser in such than I; I came to watch, and be concerned if danger comes. Join our fire, if Little One approves?"

Mikilos smiles to Lily, and nods his thanks to Tenoc before shifting his focus to the stage. Not the elf's typical taste in music, but very catchy. Might be quite popular with the locals, turn the WhiteScale into a star. An All Star.

Her singing picks up the pace now, more garrulous and speedy, with her slinking about the stage, with wide sweeps of her arms that emphasize the feathers. Cryo is also staring at various tables, feigning or attempting eye-contact with various patrons.

'Weellllll, the years start coming and the don't stop coming,
Statues are built and they hit the ground crumbling,
"Didn't make sense not to build Real High!"
Though naugh is left but blue desert sky.

Lily likewise is fascinated by Mikilos' transformation, squealing a happy, "Mikssos" then "Farrnss." It's not quite clear what she means. She does nod to Tenoc in answer to his query, "Yesss. He joinss usss." <draconic>

Cryo stands up tall, her legs straight, she's on her toes:

"So much I've done for you to see!
So what's wrong with looking upon me?"

Tenoc dips his head gravely. "It will be," he intones with a toothy grin, stepping out to retrieve one of the odd stools-- chairs. Chairs. Adjusting it instinctively for a -- ah, yes. No tail.

"One is welcome, Honoured One," he returns to Mikilos, holding the chair for him. "Though we have no fire of our own, one is pleased to share this place. It is warm, near Greatfire-pit-for-all."

Really trying to keep watch on the gathered. Eyes everywhere! So not enough eyes to watch everything. And feathers-- distracting feathers!

Mikilos may favor traditional elven designs, but is rather adept at utlizing the tools of other cultures, be it sith stool, egalrin perches, stout dwarven benches, or human chairs. Xorn furniture is a little too weird for comfortable use, however. But the chairs of the club are welcome an familiar. "Thank you, your generosity is most welcome."

Merek walks along and into the place with his dark attire on, from the hood up with the beltcape about the waist. He scratches along his stubble in thought, and looks to the performance while he finds a place to settle in. He takes off the few things like that, while he pulls that scarf up in thought.

Cryo continues to prance around on stage, the musicians pounding out a decent beat behind her.

We'll never know what the king shewed,
We only know what the man hewed.
Hey now, King of Kings now, built to last now, heyday
Hey now, all is gone now, fell to naught now, decay
Nothing besides remains
Only level saaaands streching awaaaAayy.

Tenoc isn't quite sure of the words, but the beat and the tune draws a pleased rumble from the Makar, tail scraping the floor-- brought under control with an effort of will!

"One honors this one," he returns to Mikilos, a quick glance surveying the room before he relaxes slightly again. Classic failure-- take the hunter from the jungle, but never the jungle from the hunter. And then a long, stilling pause. "..sssk. Forgive, Learned One. What do elven softskin-ones eat?" Tail again absently moving in rhythm to the music, he continues. "One has tried to learn, but... sssk. So many things. Leaves? Tree bark? Grubs?" He glances, eyeing the elf quizzically.

Mikilos smiles to the Hunter, though his attention remains mostly with the Speaker and her song. Ozzymandias? "Fruit an vegtibles for most elves, with some meat. Grubs can be good. Leaves and bark tend more towards tea and flavorings than full meals. But for myself, I seldom eat, having learned to subsist off magic." The mage considers a few moments. "Actually can feed hundreds off my magic every day, with dedicated effort."

Merek takes a moment to look what's for order, while he seems to decide upon what looks like a simple vodka. The man nods a bit, listening to the music while he waits for the drink, taking the time to place the gloved hand upon the other while he smiles.

THAT draws Tenoc's attention like nothing else! He stares at Mikilos as if unsure if what the Archmage says is true or not. The Makar finally snorts, shaking his head with a rattle. "This one thinks you are tugging his tail," he replies, eyes bright. "All peoples have Hunters. Eat things. Mage-things do...." He gestures at the air, helplessly. "...things. But one has never seen them find foodstuffs, hunt boar, stag, feed others."

Glance back, sharply. Glare! Professional challenge. "If not eat, know now... sssk. So frail."

Up on stage, Cryo catches the comment. She laughs, interrupting her song, "Heehee, yes, that's it!" Of course Mikilos would recognize it, he is a know it all. The whitescale continues to swish and sway, and repeats the last verse of her song, which has the cadence of a chorus, then she waves behind her. The music dies down. She can be heard saying, "Okay guys, don't take five. Take what you need."

She addresses her audience and dinner patrons, "Thank you, I hope you enjoyed. It's a work in progress. I've got a few more verses planned with shadow men and a bang, not a whimper, and perhaps cats, I don't know, but I appreciate you listening."

She bows, there is applause, and then the Sith'makar does a front flip off the stage and lands, seemingly effortlessly.

Little Fang knows this is the point at which to clap, so she does so, as Cryosanthia approaches her table. "Peace on your Nest, Mikilos, I hope you enjoyed."

Tenoc rumbles, attention torn-- ALL THE DIRECTIONS. Finally tearing his eyes from Mikilos, tail thumping before he offers Cryosanthia a low bow. "All is well, Speaker," he says, tail thumping again. "Honor to hear-- sorrow, but not sure of the story."

Mikilos laughs and joins the applause, before shifting his focus back to Tenoc. "I'm serious. I don't need to eat, though I occasionally do in case I ever lose the magic. Feeding others can be done, though is harder, conjuring food for many."

Merek stands up while he makes a way along to where everyone looks to be, then he waves a little, "Peace on nests," the man offers.

"It's about Hubris. The ego and the personal investment we have in the things we create, how we believe them to be so special and eternal when the reality is it all vanishes and falls away sooner than we expect." Cryosanthia explains happily, slipping onto a short stool beside her pink youngling and rubbing her on the head.

She smiles at the greenscale, "Nothing matters, nothing lasts. We spent so much effort saving the world, and a month later it needs saving all over again. What has happened before will happen again."

She steals some of Lily's food, which gets a sharp HISSS! from her Kobold foundling, "It's a classic poem about a lost empire and lost king, where nothing but his name remains."

"Hi Merek," Cryo waves at the man.

Tenoc turns his glance back to the wizard, peering carefully. Uttering a quiet, bemused hiss, he reaches to the pouch at his side with great, careful reverence. Pausing briefly, he listens to the explanation the Whitescale gives, eyes focused with a quiet intensity. Rumbling as he considers, the Hunter gives the newcomer a careful appraisal-- relaxing by measures as Cryo welcomes him. "Peace," he replies, finishing draweing the small fruit from his pouch. Warm, golden, though sadly smaller than those of home-- Mango!

"TO share with Ssssassa," he says in gentle admonishment, offering the fruit to Lily iwht a wink. And a thought.

"...this one must now know... what does.... sssk... mage-magic-stuff taste like?"

Mikilos nods to Cryo, eyeing the kobold's food a moment. Those hisses are kinda cute, but not enough reason to annoy the Little One. "A classic poem, translated to many languages. I've heard tale it's loosely based on a real king, but proof is lacking." To Tenoc he shakes his head. "My magic ring, for that's what it is, just keeps me from getting hungry, or from getting ill when I don't eat. There's nothing to taste. The feasts that i summon however, taste like real food, depending or whatever sort of food is conjured." He nods to Cryo and Lily. "They've both had a few conjured meals from the magical mansion."

The pink Kobold snatches the mango. She's still grabby! She's picked up a few manners at least, "Thanssss." The mango immediately goes in her mouth, she twists to look up at Cryosanthia and murmurs around it, "Already wetsss it all." <draconic>

"That's okay," Cryo says, picking it out of Lily's mouth. The fruit is saliva-full now and the Sith'mom grins back at her youngling, hissing, "I know where you've been." <draconic>

She takes a knife and cuts a side off the fruit, handing it back to Lily, where it's immediately in her mouth again. Cryo holds her slice, nods at Mikilos' words, looking at Tenoc, "This one had to stay in his conjured mansion for some time to avoid being scryed. Each day I got to recreate an environment, I had a swashbuckling mansion, a huge ice lair, a beachfront, a bunch of things. The food is amazing! It tastes like what it should taste like."

At this point she pops the slice into her mouth. Her eating is more delicate than her foundling's, she takes the time to drag the fruit-flesh from the skin with her teeth. Once it is scraped clean, she ponders eating it. It is more bitter, but...

"Both you and Merek don't eat. This one worries it makes you... less connected to the real world. Such as it is."

Tenoc tailthumps. Sound reasoning from Speaker! "Yus," he immediately agrees. "To eat is natural. Is good. Makes strong scales, teeth, claws." He nods with a grin of satisfaction, rumbling in amusement as he steps back briefly, back near the wall and from the path of the flames. And a pause to consider-- Mage Food?

He glances at Lily and the Speaker. Resolves-- more hunting! And more mango seeds. Tail-thump, absently.

New thought! "Chieftan-king?" he inquires, glancing between the others. "Silver Empress? Village Chieftan? Alik--ssssr--" Snort. "--not-chieftans? Or sssomething else?"

Merek seems to think about the mention of eating. The man nods a bit to Cryosanthia, "Ah, well I don't know. I don't need to although, I still like to eat," he mentions.

Mikilos frowns mildly, nodding to Cryo. "A valid concern. When I was young, had a teacher with a similar ring, but his broke. After years of going without food, he became very sick before his body learned to eat again properly. I do make a point to have a real meal every few days, if only to stay in the habit."

"Well, that's good then, that you still both eat a little bit now and then."

Cryosanthia decides, yes, she is eating the skin. It gets a couple bites and then is swallowed. She also decides, Lily is not eating the seed. It... might be ok, but she doesn't want to find out, so her fingers are in the Kobold's mouth plucking it out. She points at the plate of meats still provided, "Thiss now."

Lily looks unhappy, she was enjoying sucking the seed, but meat is meat.

"This one is not sure what you mean Tenoc? Even the Silver Empress will have her time, but this one hopes it does not end soon." The whitescale smells confused, stares at the greenscale for a while.

"Oh! That reminds! Twice I have forgotten to ask you about the Dragon horde where you... FOUND A DRAGON HORDE!" Cryo's eyes light up as she focuses on Mikilos again, "Tell us the story, please. Did you see the Dragon at all, what sort of dragon was it?"

Tenoc nods, musing broodingly, think---

Perk! Perkperk! Dragon?

Mikilos gets ALL OF THE ATTENTION. Most of it. If Sith could grow more eyeballs--!

Mikilos laughs. "Short answer, dead, and quite putrid. The longer tale, we teleported to Dragonier, made undetectable to undead senses. The place was covered in wights, fallen into a sort of slumber until fresh prey came along. The castle we searched had fallen to ruin, but was still massive an majestic. The dragon was stretched out on a dias, it's hide pale, but I'm not sure how much of that was the original color, and how much was fungus and rot. Unsure how active it might be if disturbedm we passed it by and head down towards the vault, only to find a magical door that requested authorization. A dragon eye. A polymorphed eye -might- have worked, perhaps even a Sith, but having so recently passed a perfectly useable body, we tried that instead... sadly, the body rose up, quite annoyed when we tried to take the eye from it. The swarm of wights outside also detected us, and started to flow in. Hala managed to grab the eye, and we blocked much of the way in to slow the flow, and then just ran for the vault. Thankfully the rotted and squishy eye worked, and the door closed behind us, locking us in a large room piled high with treasure. Gold coins, mostly, but with many stacks of silver, gems, weapons of assorted types..." The elf sighs. "And then the treasure itself rose up in a massive body to protect itself."

Cryo listens intently. Lily picks up on her clutch-mom's attention and follows it, and then hers is held by the mention of coins. Both seem very interested in hearing the horde itself attacked.

"Wow. It sounds like a Red's horde. They're very disorganized and like more, more. A white, you'd find a lot more beast trophies and frozen sculptures. I suppose it could be a Black's, gold and magic would resist its natural acidity. Bronzes love stuff, like stuff-stuff. Furniture, books, rugs, paintings. They aren't into gems and gold as much. Their hordes are valuable but you'd need a caravan to empty their vaults."

She exhales, "sad, covered in fungus, and the wights sound terrible. Well, sorry I missed seeing a dragon, but I think an undead one would be a bit much for me."

Tenoc finds himself listening more intently in spite of himself, attention focused more and more on Mikilos' recounting of the adventure in Dragonier. He rumbles softly, a curious steamy wisp issuing from his nostrils. And then, quirking his head back again as he listens about the treasure itself-- hovering on each word.

"A story-- legend, recounted to this one from Am'shere--" He pauses as he compares the two in his thoughts. "Ssssk. Of how Too-Greedy Ones are undone, but... sssk. Coins, magic, treasures. Inspired by dragon-spirit. THis one is told that, dragons have spirits so mighty, that-- they grow forever. The body does not contain it all. Some become so large, so mighty, that-- soar into the sky, and become stars." He folds his hands along his spear, leaning against the staff with a rumble. "Some-- kept spirit inside treasures. All treasures. As one grew, so did the other. Perhaps truth for Undying dragons as for True Ones."

Mikilos nods. "After some fighting, Hala lept into the treasure golem's mouth, and grabed out the Shard from inside. Stopped the golem, but the Shard took over her mind for a little while. I managed to break the enchantment, and we tried to leave, only to find runes of anti-teleportation hidden in the wall... and an illusion to make the room seem much larger and more filled than it actually was. Still impressive, but not quite as awesome. After breaking the anti-teleportation rune, we left, only to find a final trap. A ghost that came along and attacked once we'd exited. After defeated it, we came home, hid the Shard, and sent the rest of the loot to the Guild for processing and division. I expect to hear back from them soon."

Cryosanthia and Little Fang keep listening, and bobbing their heads in synch with the details. Both watching Tenoc, then Mikilos. "This one has heard some of those stories, about the sky dragons," Cryo says. Sadly she's probably been paying more attention to lurid softskin fiction instead of her own people's tales. Lily is happy to have people seemingly talking to her.

"Interesting, the runes and the illusion. I wonder why. Ego, I guess. And you got a hitch-hiking ghost? Huh."

The whitescale sits back, stealing another slice of meat from Lily's plate. She smiles at Mikilos, "I'm glad you made it back."

Tenoc nods in agreement, hissing a chuckling rumble from inside. "Have heard also-- ssk. Silver Empress. Wonderous hoard. Many treasures, from across many worlds. Much kept to rest upon, but more in different places." He thrums, gazing up thoughtfully. "One day-- shall see. A great hunting ground, a place of mighty mountain, of forest and jungle and river and stream. Great Sharptooth lizards with scales made of silver. Of Great Horn creatures--" He pauses, brooding for the word. "--elk. With antlers wide as one is tall. Laced with silver. Jewel in crown of head." He taps the center of his forehead, rumbling thoughtfully. "Fierce, terrible, wonderful things." He glances aside, tail scraping mischieviously. "And many, many trees. Silver fruits, golden fruits, jewel fruits. Mangoes."

Tail thump innocently!

"But..." He glance at Mikilos, voice stern. "Truth-- it is good you are returned, Learned One. Did Guardian fall defending? Scales, not hard enough to-- ssk. Protect?"

Mikilos smiles at Tenoc's description, and nods. "I've seen many wonderous treasures from across the planes, I can only guess what has been gathered to the hoard of the Empress." He frowns mildly, considering. "I don't know for sure what happened to the dragon guard of the horde. Overwhelmed by the wights, perhaps, or perhaps struck down by Heth himself. When we left it was banging at the door to the treasure room."

Merek nods a bit to all of the story, then he seems to think about it, "Interesting. I apologize that I'm not around like I used to be, a little bit, all busy with things like that," he notes.

"Did the say anything, or was it just banging?" Cryosanthia asks, then answers herself, "Well you of anyone would understand if it was speaking, so I guess not."

Lily remains staring at Tenoc. He's speaking about mangoes, hunting, great treasure, good things! Sith'mom is talking about talking, of course.

"Oh! That reminds me, I have treasures from across the planes!" Cryo says suddenly, then hisses at Lily, "Get your toy." <draconic>

Lily reaches into the haversack and pulls out a tiny, Kobold sized crossbow. It seems perfectly scaled for her, although it would be considered a hand crossbow for anyone else. It's got a lot of metal, with an oddly reddish tinge to it. The carnation-scale holds it proudly with both hands.

"A souvenire, from Kor's Endless Battlefied." Cryo explains, proudly. "We've all gotten a little busy lately, Merek, it's ok."

Tenoc quirks his head down, watching curiously as the kobold rummages through the sack. Revealing the tiny crossbow draws a quick breath from the Hunter, tail thumping in approval as he bends down. Look, but do not touch-- first rule of examining things closely!

"....is sharp-thrower thing?" he asks, brow furrowed as he hunts down the word. "...Like elf-bow, but-- sideways. And firmer." He rumbles again, chuckling as he thumps his tail again. "Sssk. Shall have to practice with, when time comes!" Please, he rises back to height again, satisfied. And hiss, a nod.

"Also, be sure to thank Angry Dragon. One is told that he enjoys this; Kor's gifted are always thanking him before they go and do battles."

Mikilos shakes his head. "The zombie dragon was quiet, it's roar just cold black energy." He eyes the small weapon with professional intrest before looking sharply to Cryo, only to relax a second later. "Oh, Kor. I misheard and thought you said Kol."

"Heehee, yes, Witness!" Cryo says happily. This causes Lily to echo her, "Wizzznesss."

Which gets a stare from her clutch-mom, and a shake of her head, "No. Tia Brael's, but not for you." <draconic>

Lily stares. Cryo holds the stare for a bit, then looks at Tenoc, "Yes, a Tee-bow or Cross-bow. I have some practice bolts."

She has foam bolts. It's awesome.

"No, not Kol, that... that would be worse. It was Korrite heaven, lots of everyone, fighting, pouring in. A couple of their weapons ended up in the house. It's the perfect size for her, and pretty nice."

"Lily, let Mikilos have a look," The whitescale suggests. This prompts Lily to crawl across her lap, then into the Dawn Elf's where she can show the weapon to him up close. She doesn't point it at him, at least.

Tenoc thrums, chuckling with quiet mirth as he lifts his gaze back out towards the tavern-goers. Warm conversation, good conversation-- and fire! A sharp glance follows a wooden platter as it is carried by, loaded with--

Slow breath. Exhale. Focus very carefully on not having stomach growl!

...When was last time ate again? Grumph!

Mikilos does appericate not having the possibally extra-planar weapon pointed at him, and looks it over with curiousity and respect. "I've been to the Last Battlefield. Not to my tastes, but nice in it's own way. This was just in the house, no sort of information as to it's history?"

Cryosanthia's attention is drawn to Tenoc, she leans towards him, "Are you hungry? This one can order food, the braised meat is good. You should see the chefs, Luchts, they're very good. They might even know Sith'makar recipies."

Lily explains where her crossbow came from. It's a lot of hissing, in draconic, and seems rather fanciful. Apparently it was owned by a Kobold hero, who was immortal, with a magic canoe that could go anywhere with a single stroke. There was also a phoenix involved.

Cryo listens and watches as this story goes on. "Well, I never heard that before. It wasn't in the house to start with, some of the fighting spilled in through the windows. So, an unknown weapon of an unknown person. It's greatest providence is where we found it. There was also a mace, and armour. I got a ring too." She hold out her hand, a ring nestled in the finger notch where she had another one for many years.

There were also some bodies, minced up, she leaves that detail out.

Tenoc blanches briefly, quick to affect a more stone-faced-than-normal look. Totally professional! Unrelenting! Stern!

...his stomach will have NONE OF IT.

Studiously ignoring a glance from a nearby table at the Seething Stomach and its Sith'Makar, he grimaces with a nod. "It has been too long since last hunt," he admits with a sigh, casting a longing glance at another wooden board, heaped with sausages stealing swirling by. Sausages! "...If this one may," he begins, dipping his head again. Regret. AND ANGRY STOMACH!

Mikilos nods. "Well, I'm not detecting any potentially dangerous magics on it, and while the color is unusal, can think of a few alloys that would get that kind of result. Should be safe for long term use."

Lily rocks happily on Mikilos' lap, seemingly understanding the explanation, or perhaps listening only to his tone. She holds up her little pink hands for her weapon back, a greedy and possessive look in her eyes. It's hers!

Cryosanthia nods, signalling a server to come over and ordering some sausages to go, and some meat for the moment.

"That's good to know. It seems quite nice, from what I know of crossbows. I've got some practice bolts and have been meaning to take her to the fairgrounds. I'm happy I got back, with a present is even better."

"Thanks for coming out to hear my song." She reaches over and pats Mikilos' arm.

Mikilos smiles, handing back the small weapon and taking Cryo's hand into his own for a moment. "Was my pleasure. A catchy tune, a familiar subject, and a good message. What more could a song want?"

Cryo holds onto Mikilos' hand, a gentle grip, feeling the warmth, he'll feel the coolness of her scales. She tilts her head quizzically, her mouth open in a slight grin, "Two more verses, I promise I'll finish them."

Slipping free, she picks up her pink warrior and transfers her to her lap. A glance towards the kitchen, "Thanks for telling me about the dragon. We'll need to head out when Tenoc's food comes, it's getting close to Lily's bed-time and we have a bit of wandering to do."

The hand crossbow is put away, and the masks come out. Soon, they will be gone.

But not immediately, they keep company a little more.
