Clockwork Catastrophy

From Tenebrae

A notice has been posted in the adventurer's guild in Alexandria- a mining company, based in the Redridge mountains, has put out a request for help. A number of clockwork automatons in one of their shafts have recently started going haywire. They have temporarily abandoned and barricated the shaft, with the automatons inside, but have requested that some adventurers be dispatched to clear it out so that lucerative saltpeter mining can resume.

Transport for the adventurers will be provided by means of the mining company's caravan, which departs from Alexandria and makes its way to the site. Upon arrival, it is a sight to behold- steam-powered minecards rattle and whir up and down the main shaft, and billowing clouds of smoke erupt from a large magitech steam engine on the surface level that keeps the mines ventilated. The foreman of the shaft in question- a stocky, bronze-skinned Khazad waits for the adventurers to arrive.

GAME: Rumbo casts Endure Elements. Caster Level: 2 DC: 16

The fur covered Gobbo jumps down from the caravan, and pauses to stretch at length, several joints and vertebrae cracking. She grunts in an unladylike fashion, and looks around. "Seems like a large operation.", Choler comments to no one in particular.

Tommy emerges from the caravan next. His eyes are wide as he looks around, taking in the exterior of the shaft. But they stay just as wide when he looks at the Khazad and even the rest of the party. Perhaps that is his natural expression. "I've never been in a mine before," he announces, probably unnecessarily.

Perhaps one of the last people to emerge from the caravan is Havi, the robe-clad adventurer gets out of the caravan with a scimitar at his side and a hood over his head. He follows behind everyone. "Well, there is a first time for everything in this grand world of ours, is there not?" He says encouragingly to Tommy.

Rumbo couldn't very well turn down a job like this. Saltpeter is a very important ingredient in gunpowder! During the trip in the cart others would have seen Rumbo cast 'Endure Elements' on himself as he does most days and so he is bright and ready for adventure when they all arrive at the mines.

"Hello!" The gun-toting Gobber is smiling broadly as they emerge from the carriage and meet with the stocky, bronze-skinned Khazad, "I understand some Gnomes are interfering with your Automatons and you've hired us to kill them for you?" With that Rumbo slips the dragonspitter from it's holster and winks. <khazdul>

The Khazad looks dour- but when do they not? with his arms folded, and a shiny red nose barely emerges from the top of a thick salt and pepper beard. Mare salt than pepper. "Dinnae ken where ye heard that." he responds in heavily accented trade-tongue to the goblin. "It's the automotons, rather'n gnomes, that've been the problem." he says.

With the adventurers all disembarked from the Caravan, he begins leading the way over towards one of the minecarts- this one seems to be designed for transport, the engine at the front having a single seat with control levers, and towing a couple of cars with pairs of seats each. The goblins might hae to share a seat. The foreman climbs into the engine and it spews oily smoke as it rumbles to life, but the noise dies off to a faint rumble and the smoke dies down, too, once it's warmed up. "I'll explain on th' way." he says to the group, gesturing for them to climb into the vehicle.

<OOC> Glasha says, "I'm trying, but inspiration isn't gripping me, today."

Tommy's eyes widen even more at the cart, then he seems to wilt slightly as the Khazad takes the driver's seat. But he perks up almost immediately and finds a seat and slides all the way to the opposite side. Lucht aren't generally that much shorter than Khazad but he still finds it hard to see. So he uses his seat to climb, and instead sit perched somewhat precariously on the side of the cart.

Rumbo taps the side of his small nose with a finger as he nods slowly to the Khazad. "Automatons don't just go haywire. Obviously Myrrish Gnomes have been messing with them but I understand. You hired adventurers, not assassins." He smiles broadly as he clambers up into the machine and says cheerfully, "We'll clear up the trouble me old mucker.. and do our best to uncover the Myrrish Gnomes behind it all."

Choler pulls herself free of her furs, rolling them up and strapping them to her backpack. She's halfway into the engine cart, when the Khazad seats himself. She looks slightly disappointed. Instead, she occupies one of the seats in the first cart. Where she strains and fidgets, trying to see all the action the engine has.

"May I try driving it?", she asks in a soft, sweet voice. "It looks fun."

Havi seems largely amused for a moment as he looks upon the Dwarf. Alas, unlike perhaps others in the group, Havi does not speak Khazad. However, he seems to largely understand things. But he looks upon Rumbo. "Well spoken." he compliments, before he looks upon Choler. Sure enough, he attempts to get onto the engine cart himself, unless its full up. But he takes his seat all the same...and waits.

"No ye bloody well may not." The Khazad retorts to Choler, gruffly. "An' keep yer limbs inside the cart if ye wanna keep 'em." he adds then to all the passengers scrambling to get a better look at the controls. Once everyone is aboard, he manupulates a couple of the levers and it begins to chug along towards the entrance to the shaft. It gradually begins to pick up speed as they come to a central, spiral, track which has numerous branches coming off in various directions, off to various parts of the mine. Carts wiz back and forth on multiple tracks and the speed increases.

The Khazad has to shout over the sound of the cart rumbling along the tracks at increasingly alarming speeds. "Bout a fortnight ago we had a couple of breakdowns!" he calls out. "Hired a Gobber to take a look, said he was from the machinists guild!" he adds then. "Same night, the broken down ones woke back up, started attacking the miners. Brave fool stayed behind to try and shut 'em down!" he adds. "We had to barricade the entrance, but the gobber was lost inside. Mayhap he's still breathing, but we aint heard a peep from him since. By our count, there were two digger units, a half dozen or so small rubble crawlers, and three large crawlers in there at the time." he explains.

The cart reaches a junction, and then turns sharply, hurtling down a long corridor at breakneck speeds, with doors on either sides wizzing past. Finally, with a screeching of iron against iron, it comes to a stop outside one such sturdy double door- marked G-14 Saltpeter. The door has been barred with a pair of sturdy beams, and there's an armed and armored Khazad standing watch outside. "This is the one." the Foreman announces.

Rumbo points the dragonspitter towards the door marked G-14 and gestures with it as he asks, "This is the shaft you say. Is it long and straight?" Rumbo asks of the Khazad foreman while his empty hand slips down to his gun-belt and the case hanging from it.

<OOC> Rumbo snickers to himself.

Choler frowns at the Khazad, and gives him the ol' stinkeye the entire ride. When the cart begins to hurtle downwards, as features whiz by in a blur, the Gobbo squeaks and laughs like a madwoman the entire way.

She bounces from her seat with her backpack, all grins. Then she sees the Khazad again, and remembers that she's irked with him, and the frown immediately returns.

"If the Gobbo is dead, you're gonna need all new machines.", she grumps, as she moves to peer at the door.

Squinting at the sign, she rubs at a cheek. "Isn't saltpeter part of gunpowder?", she wonders.

Tommy did take a more proper seat at the foreman's admonishment. But as soon as the cart comes to a stop he vaults over the side and out, practically bouncing on his toes with excitement. The sight of the guard seems to remind him of why they are here and he collects himself. "Two plus six plus three is a lot of automatons," he notes. "Do we have to destroy them all?"

Rumbo unfurls a scroll and reads from it as the others prepare themselves, reading it until the scroll disappears from his hand and a golden glow outlines his small body momentarily.

GAME: Rumbo used a Scroll of Mage Armor.

<OOC> Rumbo says, "Has +4 AC for an hour woo! Bring it on angry robots!"

This is the one is given, and so, Havi prepares to get off their lovely chariot before he gets off and onto his feet, making his way down the corridor. "It is a lot of automotons. We will destroy however many is necessary. If any can be saved, then let us attempt to do so." he smiles happily then, before he takes a deep breath and readies his spells...including drawing his sword.

The Khazad answers the questions in turn, Rumbo first, "No, since we got them new digger units, they can sniff out the vein, so we tend to follow the vein where the rock allows. There's two large chambers, seperated by a narrow passage." he explains the rough shape of the shaft. Next up is Choler's question, "That it is, lass. Don't worry, saltpeter on its own won't explode. Makes a good deal of smoke when it burns, mind." he explains.

To Tommy and Havi, "No, if ye can disable 'em somehow without breaking them, all the better." he tells them. "Just need it made safe so the miners can move back in and get back to work." he says.

"When you're ready, we'll open 'er up." he says, and nods his head towards the armored guard who moves over to help with removing the door bars when needed.

Tommy adjusts his vest and then moves over to the door. He places his hands on the bar and tries to lift, but it doesn't budge. Panting slightly he steps back and then waits for someone else to open it.

"Would this be your typical response to some sort of attack you can't deal with?", Choler wonders, rubbing at her chin. "To bail out and seal the entrance? Do you have automatons in other shafts? You should probably shut them down if you can, and pull them out."

She offers a shrug. "Did anyone actually see the Goblin die? Have the automatons tried breaking out of the door? This seems suspicious."

"They don't need more automatons," Tommy contributes, brightly. "They've got us!"

Rumbo pats the glass flasks filled with an oily yellow liquid that are strapped on his leather gun-belt and, with a gobber-wide grin, says cheerfully "This is the typical response!" He then heroically lifts the dragonspitter in his hand and says with a pose "Let's kick gnomes and take names!"

Havi smiles as he holds his blade in his offhand, a small smile. "Indeed. But for now...open the gates." He tells the armored guard. "We will try not to take too long." He informs the Khazad with a light smile, seemingly ready to go.

The Khazad nods his head, "Aye, the miners evacuate, and we send in the guards usually." he explains. "But we're a bit short handed, so we're hiring in outside help. That'd be you." he tells Choler to her first question. As for the next, he shakes his head, "No. No one seen him kark it. As for the automatons trying to escape- there was some scraping and scuttling at the door at first, but they seem to've settled. They went right for the miners though, when they tried to escape. A few injuries." he tells her.

The burly Khazad guards chuckles at Tommy's attempt to remove the bar, and since he seems ready to go, he moves to begin hefting it himself.

<OOC> Thurid says, "Alright, if you're stepping through the door, please open this: https://www.mipui.net/app/index.html?mid=mrgqwey0yma"

<OOC> Thurid says, "It's a map, it'll be blank for now. I'll reveal it as you explore."

<OOC> Tommy says, "Awesome"

<OOC> Rumbo fires off as many rounds as he can into the open door just to be sure it's clear :D

<OOC> Thurid says, "Also the double doors total 10 foot across, so there's enough space to move two abreast. Please decide your formation heading through."

<OOC> Glasha is aimed for the back of the line.

Havi has reconnected.

<OOC> Rumbo is sad to say currently as many rounds as he can fire is 1 but still... is there anything to see to shoot when the door is opened or is Rumbo firing blind?

<OOC> Tommy is willing to be at the front not for tankiness but as a sacrificial lamb.

"Short handed? Wouldn't you think that very convenient? Had that Gobbo worked for you folks before? Was he a regular, or someone who responded to a call to fix the automatons, or what?" Choler prepares herself for the door's opening, moving forward and crouching right at the front. "We know that gunpowder production is... profitable. You might have a thief with a very elaborate plan to steal saltpeter. Or perhaps the other ingredients too. One more question."

The Gobbo peers at the Khazad intently. "Do these shafts connect up to anything else in the mine?"

<OOC> Choler says, "The Gobbo is going up front."

<OOC> Rumbo says, "THE Gobbo is going in the back beside Glasha since he has a gun and magics and can do the ranged thing ;)"

<OOC> Thurid says, "So sounds like Choler front, RUmbo and Glasha back, Tommy and Havi in the middle."

<OOC> Havi thumbs up

The Khazad pauses as Choler continues to question him, and he gestures for the guard to drop the bar back into position. What a tease! The foreman scratches his beard, "Now you mention it, it was mighty convenient he dropped by." he admits. "He said he was on his way back to Alexandria, but that he'd lend a hand fixing them up for a few coin." he admits to the goblin. "He had a writ from the guild, we checked that much of course. Said he was a qualified machinist." he explains.

As for the final question, "Mmm, the ventilation ducts I s'pose, but they're too small even for a gobber to squeeze through. An' they have grates at either end to stop debris from falling down 'em. You'd be hard pressed to get anything through one of them bigger'n a gold sovreign."

<OOC> Rumbo is loading up https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OKdoE40w97c to provide a soundtrack to this adventure and... omg tease! Rumbo was just about to shoot!

<OOC> Choler says, "You sure taught that door a lesson it won't soon forget!"

Rumbo keeps the dragonspitter in his hand steady on the solid door to the mineshaft, ready to fire as soon as it is opened so nothing springs out and attacks them!

<OOC> Choler says, "Oh gosh... we can see five feet in! Or is it ten? xD"

<OOC> Thurid derped and deleted a row instead of adding one for the corridor we're in XD

<OOC> Thurid says, "Sec"

<OOC> Thurid says, "There :p"

<OOC> Thurid says, "Added icons for yous guys, and the corridor you're in."

<OOC> Choler grins.

<OOC> Rumbo says, "Choler is in the Bangles, Havi has a spear, Tommy is a punk rocker with a mohawk, Glasha is a cool assassin and Rumbo has a broken arm?"

<OOC> Tommy says, "Love it :D"

<OOC> Choler grins.

<OOC> Thurid says, "Yup!"

<OOC> Havi says, "its great :P"

"While I would be happy to be wrong, I will be sad if he is actually dead. But I believe that it is possible that these circumstances are too convenient. Also, I doubt that a ventilation shaft's size would be a problem to a Goblin with a bunch of mining automatons under his control. If you know where the ventilation shaft from here leads, best to get a few guards up there. Have them listen and see if they can't hear or see something coming up the shafts. Again."

Choler shrugs. "I'm happy to be wrong, but perhaps best to cover all the options, hmm?"

She tilts her chin at the door, "Alright, let's be about it, yeah?"

Tommy falls into line, somehow managing to end up in what is probably the most sensible position. He tilts his head to the side at Choler's musings and then shrugs. "I don't see how we're going to learn any more without going in and seeing for ourselves!"

<OOC> Glasha says, "Do I have time to cast a couple spells before we go in?"

<OOC> Thurid says, "Yup"

<OOC> Thurid says, "Ball is in your court, for now."

The Foreman nods his head then, "Aye. We'll send someone to take a look." he agrees, and then nods his ehad at the guard. He pulls loose the bar, and then the two of them head off to speak to the guards at the guard station up the way and dispatch a fresh patrol to check out the ducts- just incase.

Pushing the door open is left to the adventurers, when they are ready.

<OOC> Thurid says, "Pose it."

As they walk down the hallway, Glasha gestures, her hands moving in very precise movements as she speaks words of power unpronounceable by mortal tongues that break the brain of those who don't speak the eldritch words. This goes on for longer than ten seconds, and when she's done, nothing seems to change.

<OOC> Thurid says, "Alright. You ready to open the door?"

<OOC> Tommy is ready!

<OOC> Glasha can't think of a reason not to, "Though I call not it on actually opening the door."

<OOC> Rumbo says, "Yup all ready to start blasting!"

<OOC> Choler says, "Oh god, those dwarves at the end of the long hallway are coming right for us!"

<OOC> Choler says, "Yes, open ze door! :D"

<OOC> Thurid says, "Alright!"

<OOC> Choler says, "Spiders, why'd it have to be spiders. xD"

<OOC> Glasha says, "Dwemer spider bots, clearly."

<OOC> Choler says, "Glasha, speed demon."

<OOC> Rumbo sighs and was hoping to roll better with all the posing about shooting as soon as the door opens :D

As the door is pushed open, it swings wide with surprising ease for its enormous size- well greased and maintained, no doubt. The inner surface is scratched and scrapes by numerous metallic claws. The passage seems to widen, gradually, as one looks in, from 10 foot across near the double door out to fifteen foot across as far as they can see- it also seems to switch back on itself somewhat.

Rumbo's shot does not hit anything- from his angle, he's only able to ricochet it off a couple of walls. But it does gain the attention of something- glowing crystals atop a flat hexagonal collection of whirling gears, slung under with elastic nets full of collected lumps of debris. Spindly legs protrute from each joint, and they crawl their way out of a pile of loose debris and start skittering towards the group.

<OOC> Glasha says, "I chalk it up to being paranoid from being a studious, crafting wizard who miraculously still has decent eyesight."

Hmm...in any case, he has been waiting for just this moment. He raises his hand and chants a few words in an unknowable tongue. And then adds on a "Take this!" for good measure. A thin bolt of electricty arcs out and zaps into the wall, causing a shower of sparks. "Um...the next one is going right between the legs!" he assures the spider-like construct.

Rumbo growls as the clockwork menaces attack the magical doggo! As he hustles forward he rapidly reloads the dragonspitter with powder, wadding and a lead ball that is rammed down the barrel. Then, after a moment spent aiming, he fires the dragonspitter with a loud KABLAAM! Sparks and grey smoke erupt from the muzzle as he shoots the nearest spiderbot. His hand is already moving to prepare the dragonspitter for another round.

Out of the corner of his eye, Rumbo spies another bot- this one is much larger than the spiderbots. Its rear section is a pair of wheels, while its forelimbs end with a pair of wicket looking saws as it rumbles along the ground. Aside from this strange appearance, it looks vageuly like a small bear, or large badger, with bronzed plating and steam puffing from vents on the sides of its head.

<OOC> Havi says, "hm.... how far is it to the closest enemy?"

<OOC> Havi says, "oh, lag"

The Goblin crouches, watching as the combat unfolds. At a precise moment, she moves forward quickly. One of the spiderbots attempting to hound the dog summoned by Glasha is Choler's target. With a quick strike, she punches at one of the gears controlling a leg's movement, which bends and creaks ominously. "Come on then!", she squeaks. "Fight me!"

<OOC> Havi says, "I?m going to move a little closer and cast thunderstomp to trip up to r one closest to me, if possible"

<OOC> Thurid says, "Alright, how close do you want be to the spider after your move?"

<OOC> Havi says, "up until I?m roughly 25 feet away"

<OOC> Thurid says, "Alright"

GAME: Havi casts Thunderstomp. Caster Level: 2 DC: 14

<OOC> Thurid says, "Sadly, it fails. Too many legs. Pose it!"

GAME: NEW ROUND!

Thurid advances the initiative order.

Round Two - Init 22.

It is now Tommy's turn! Glasha is next!

<OOC> Havi cries

<OOC> Thurid says, "Alright, Tommy you're up. I just need to run to the bathroom real quick, but lemme know what you're doing in the mean time."

<OOC> Tommy will move up to one square in front of where Havi is, and shoot a lightning arc at the spider Choler is fighting

<OOC> Thurid says, "Alrighty"

<OOC> Thurid says, "Cast and roll!"

Havi, in an attempt to trip up the bots ganging up on the dog, he casts a spell that should help him unbalance them.

too bad that fails.

He stomps his foot hard on the ground, the sound of Thunder ripping through the cave...but it has no effect. Thankfully, others are more combat useful.

GAME: Tommy refreshes special ability pools.

GAME: Tommy spends ONE use of ELEMENTAL RAY.

<OOC> Thurid says, "Havi: For future, things with more than two legs get a bonus to resist tripping. Spiders are very hard to trip, things with even more legs are impossible."

GAME: Tommy rolls ranged-4: (6)+5+-4: 7

<OOC> Tommy says, "Still a touch attack, but even worse than before :P"

<OOC> Thurid says, "Yup, no dice I'm afraid. Go ahead and pose it."

GAME: Thurid advances the initiative order.

Round Two - Init 21.

It is now Glasha's turn! Spiderbots is next!

<OOC> Thurid says, "Glasha, you're up! We'll resolve your doggo first. What does he do?"

<OOC> Thurid says, "He is currently flanked. He can 5' step out of flanking, and gain flank about the lower spider with Choler."

<OOC> Glasha has a summoning question. "I've directed my doggo to attack already. Will it keep attacking that same target while I do something else for a round, or is it going to just stand there like a deactivated robot until I use a move action to direct it?"

<OOC> Thurid says, "He will continue to attack until directed to do something else."

<OOC> Glasha says, "Then he will continue to attack that same spiderbot."

<OOC> Thurid says, "Alright. Roll for him."

GAME: Glasha rolls 1d20+1: (9)+1: 10

<OOC> Thurid says, "Miss, unfortunately."

<OOC> Glasha nods.

<OOC> Thurid says, "What about yourself?"

<OOC> Glasha says, "I'm going to spend another full round action to summon an Earth Elemental."

<OOC> Thurid says, "Alrighty then! Where will he be popping up, and what will he do?"

<OOC> Glasha says, "I'm going to summon it to the east of the closest spiderbot."

<OOC> Thurid says, "Alright. And will he attack?"

<OOC> Glasha says, "And he will smash it like the hulk (hopefully)."

<OOC> Glasha says, "Flanking?"

<OOC> Thurid says, "unfortunately not, he's not opposite an ally"

Tommy follows his fellow adventurers into the tunnel and towars the spiders. He may be new to all this, but still he knows there's strength in numbers. His first attack didn't work as he had intended, but he's always willing to try again. He points two fingers this time, and a fatter bolt of lighting crackles out. This one seems to be drawn towards one of the spiderbot's front legs, travels the length of the appendange and then dissipates harmlessly into the floor of the tunnel. Tommy frowns briefly.

GAME: Glasha rolls 1d20+6: (6)+6: 12

<OOC> Glasha says, "Damn it, minions!"

<OOC> Choler grins.

<OOC> Glasha assumes that misses.

<OOC> Thurid says, "Unless you wanted to summon north rather than east of the bot, I'll let you adjust if you like."

<OOC> Glasha says, "Actually, that was my first choice..."

<OOC> Thurid says, "He and choler will gain flanking, then."

<OOC> Glasha says, "Hooray!"

<OOC> Glasha says, "Will a 14 hit, then?"

<OOC> Thurid says, "Alright, you gain a +2 to that roll. Unfortunatly that /barely/ misses."

<OOC> Glasha rolls her eyes.

<OOC> Glasha will pose it.

<OOC> Thurid says, "Alright!"

GAME: Thurid advances the initiative order.

Round Two - Init 17.

It is now Spiderbots' turn! Badgerbots is next!

<OOC> Thurid says, "Spiderbot A continues scrapping with doggo."

GAME: Thurid rolls 2+2: (16)+2+2: 20

GAME: Thurid rolls 1d4: (3): 3

<OOC> Thurid says, "Deals another three damage to doggo"

Glasha continues posing and chanting nearly a repeat of the previous chant and pose. The stone itself reaches up from the ground, slamming a fist down. Another arm raises and slams down before a vaguely humanoid assemblage of rocks rises from the earth itself. It punches at the spider, though the blunt force is barely enough to dent, let alone put it closer to deactivation.

<OOC> Glasha will pose that on the doggo.

<OOC> Choler says, "Someone could heal the doggo, I think. And it might have missed, but flanking is always awesome."

<OOC> Thurid says, "It's fine, I'll pose it."

<OOC> Glasha says, "It's dead."

<OOC> Glasha would like to at least deal with that.

<OOC> Thurid says, "Oh, right."

<OOC> Thurid says, "Alright then."

<OOC> Thurid says, "Moving on to other spiderbots- the one fighting Choler turns to face her, since she wounded it!"

GAME: Thurid rolls 2: (3)+2: 5

<OOC> Thurid says, "And misses!"

As the heavenly hound continues to face off against the spiderbot it began attacking, snapping at it, it scores a solid hit on the pooch. With a whimper and a whine, the hound flashes like a camera flash, becoming translucent with wings and a halo. It rises up through the stone ceiling, returning from whence it came.

<OOC> Thurid says, "Other two spiders, one charges the elemental, other just moves up."

<OOC> Thurid says, "And attacks"

GAME: Thurid rolls 2+2: (11)+2+2: 15

GAME: Thurid rolls 2: (4)+2: 6

<OOC> Glasha says, "AC 17."

<OOC> Thurid says, "Both miss! I'll pose the spiders."

<OOC> Thurid says, "Meanwhile, the badgers simply move up some more."

The skittering spiders continue to lash out at all within range, though their tiny legs are quick and sharp, they aren't able to deal a significant wound except to the poor dog against whom one landed a lucky hit. They are beginning to surround the elemental, though, apparently intending to take it apart piece by piece.

The rumbling in the walls grows closer, and one of those wheeler creatures with the saws for forelimbs smashes through a section of wall as it approaches, causing it to collapse into a shower of rubble further into the chamber.

<OOC> Rumbo says, "Ok Rumbo is reloading the firearm with his free action and casting Snapdragon Fireworks."

<OOC> Thurid says, "Oh! Glasha, need you to expend that second summon spell, belatedly."

<OOC> Glasha says, "Thanks for the reminder."

GAME: Glasha casts Summon Monster II. Caster Level: 4 DC: 18

<OOC> Rumbo says, "I'm a little fuzzy on casting rules though. Can a five foot square be cast on a point and cover multiples of the spiderbots?"

<OOC> Thurid says, "No, a creature occupies a 5 foot square, you can't target things between squares usually."

<OOC> Rumbo says, "Like if I cast at 3.5 and 13.5 would it hit the elemental and the two bots on the edges? Or is it just the square?"

<OOC> Choler says, "Oh, that can be done, pretty sure."

<OOC> Thurid says, "Hmm... yeah, alright then."

<OOC> Thurid says, "It seems reasonable."

<OOC> Rumbo says, "It says you may designate a target 5-foot-square... Creatures in the target square take 1d4 points of fire damage and are dazzled for 1 round (Reflex half, a successful save negates the dazzled condition)"

<OOC> Thurid says, "Roll your damage, I'll roll their saves. Glasha: Your elemental needs to make a reflex save, also. DC18"

<OOC> Rumbo says, "Posing."

GAME: Thurid advances the initiative order.

Round Two - Init 6.

It is now Choler's turn! Havi is next!

<OOC> Thurid says, "Alright, you have flanking against a wounded and dazzled spider."

<OOC> Choler says, "Does orange mean dead?"

<OOC> Thurid says, "Dazzled"

<OOC> Thurid says, "I'll delete the icon when its dead."

<OOC> Choler says, "Okay, she's just going to punch the one in front of her, and if it dies, she will move to put herself in front of the other. Not close enough to evoke an AoO, but if it wants to move past her, it should cause her to get an AoO."

GAME: Choler rolls weapon0: (2)+5: 7

<OOC> Choler says, "Oor she could flurry instead. xD"

<OOC> Choler says, "Guess I shouldn't be so cocky with her."

<OOC> Choler says, "Mind her doing a flurry instead? :D Just means a second attack."

<OOC> Thurid says, "Go for it."

GAME: Choler rolls weapon0: (16)+5: 21

<OOC> Thurid says, "roll damage"

GAME: Choler rolls 1d6+1: (2)+1: 3

<OOC> Thurid says, "Dead, pose it."

<OOC> Choler says, "Missed the +1 from earlier."

<OOC> Choler says, "Oh, sweet."

Rumbo finishes loading the dragonspitter and then raises it up to aim again at the spiderbot between the Earth Elemental and his fello Gobber adventurer. Words are chanted in Eldritch and instead of the dragonspitter barking again a tiny sparking dragon of red and orange fire squeezes from the barrel to zig and zag about in a whirling zip of firework brilliance before it explodes between the two spiderbots and the conjured elemental to dazzle and delight... (And Burn which to Gobbers is both dazzling and delightful!)

GAME: Thurid advances the initiative order.

Round Two - Init 5.

It is now Havi's turn! Tommy is next!

<OOC> Thurid says, "Havi, you're up!"

Choler crouches again, trying to maintain a small profile, but with luck, nothing really comes her way. "I said FIGHT ME!", she shouts at the automaton, and she aims a punch a bit higher, smashing into the thing. Something important gives, for the spiderbot suddenly falls forward, crashing to the ground. Leaving just enough room for a Gobbo-sized person to remain standing.

<OOC> Havi says, "hmmmm."

<OOC> Glasha says, "In approximately one hour, I will be unavailable for an indeterminate amount of time."

<OOC> Choler nods.

<OOC> Havi says, "I'm going to cast Magic Fang on my weapon. Or try to, to get that +1"

<OOC> Thurid says, "Magic fang only works on natural weapons or unarmed strikes."

<OOC> Thurid says, "You could use to to enhance your fists, or someone elses fists, but not on a weapon."

<OOC> Thurid says, "Natural weapons include things like claws, teeth, tails etc."

<OOC> Havi says, "damn. anyone here who likes punching shit?"

<OOC> Glasha says, "Does the elemental's slam attack count?"

<OOC> Choler is your Huckleberry.

<OOC> Thurid says, "It does, Choler or the Elemental would both be a good choice."

<OOC> Havi casts Magic Fang to Choler

<OOC> Thurid says, "Alright, it's touch range so you'll need to move adjacent to her."

<OOC> Havi says, "alright, lets do eet."

<OOC> Thurid says, "No, you're not threatened so don't need to cast defensively."

<OOC> Havi says, "sweet."

<OOC> Thurid says, "You only need to cast defensively to avoid provoking an attack of opportunity while in a space an enemy can attack."

<OOC> Havi says, "Choler, you get a +1 on attack and damage rolls cuz magic fang *thumbs up*"

Round Three - Init 17.

It is now Spiderbots' turn! Badgerbots is next!

<OOC> Thurid says, "Spiderbot will charge choler. It will pass the elemental's threatened space, so roll it's AoO"

Tommy's mouth flattens into a line and he moves forward, electricity crackling around his hand once more. As he comes up next to Choler he lunges, one hand behind him as if to balance as his other hand stabs out at a spider bot. Electricity streams out but again his aim is off and the bolt disappears down the tunnel. Tommy is breathing hard now, as if the magic is draining him. "C'mon...c'mon, just shoot straight," he murmurs.

From where she is, Glasha can just barely see the fight. She seems ready if she's charged. It is for that reason, perhaps, that as the earth elemental swings to its left, its stone that passes for a fist sails handily over the automaton's noggin.

Havi, after his failed attack, notices Choler looking like she could use some extra power in her strikes. So he approaches her with speed and gives a single touch while muttering an incantation for the magic to take effect.

"Knock 'em dead." Havi encourages Choler, before he's looking up to see the fight still going on.

<OOC> Thurid says, "That is, if your elemental will be taking the AoO"

<OOC> Choler says, "Ooh, is that an AoO for Choler too?"

<OOC> Thurid says, "Not unless she has reach."

<OOC> Thurid says, "Oh wait"

<OOC> Thurid says, "Yes, it will be because spiderbot passed through the square to the northwest of CHoler, which is also threatened."

<OOC> Glasha says, "Can it make an AoO if I'm full defense? Do I have the action necessary to direct it?"

<OOC> Thurid says, "So AoOs for both Choler and the Elemental."

<OOC> Thurid says, "I don't think you need to direct it to take an AoO."

<OOC> Glasha says, "Okay, well, I'll roll it since you tell me I can."

The skittering bronze spider comes charging across the stony floor towards Choler, and leaps through midair to latch onto her face. It jabs and pokes and scrapes with pointy legs drawing wounds from a number of tiny cuts before she is able to pry it off and slam it into the ground, sending sprockets and gogs scattering out of its chassis and bending one of its legs.

The others continue to harass the elemental, scraping at his ankles and jabbing at him with sharp claws, emitting bursts of steam and smoke and chittering mechanical noises.

The mechanical badgers continue to advance- the one they were able to see smashes into another wall, this time beginning to dig its way through it. The other one, they have only heard, is getting awfully close to the entrance of the cave...

<OOC> Thurid says, "So are you shooting or using fireworks?"

<OOC> Thurid says, "You don't have line of sight to either badger."

<OOC> Choler ponders, "How big are the spiderbots and badgers?"

<OOC> Thurid says, "Spiderbots are small, badgerbots are medium."

<OOC> Rumbo says, "Snapdragon Fireworks as a duration of 1 round/caster level and as a move action during the duration can send off another firework. So I thought I would do that with the move action (from the Spell I cast last round) and shoot with the standard action."

<OOC> Thurid says, "Oh!"

<OOC> Thurid says, "Yes, that, you can do."

<OOC> Thurid says, "You can see any of the spiders, but neither of the badgers, from your present location. Only Choler and the elemental can see one of the badgers, no one can see the other."

<OOC> Rumbo says, "Ok well I saw where the badger bot went so the snapdragon will explode between the spider and the badger and I'll shoot the spider fighting Choler."

<OOC> Thurid says, "You have +1 on base damage too."

Rumbo enjoys combat. It's chaotic and exhilarating and just plain fun! He is a Chaotic worshiper of Gunahkar after all and this is what gets him up in the morning.. he has been humming and he breaks out into a verse of song as he aims with his dragonspitter to launch another sparkling red and orange dragon firework from the barrel that zips and zags around Choler, past Tommy and explodes between two of the bots with a brilliant shower of sparks. "You can't start a fire. You can't start a fire without a spark!" He sings out loud after the explosion with a wide Gobber-grin and then brings the Dragonspitter to bear on another of the spiderbots. This time he fires it off properly with a loud KABLAAM! Through the gunsmoke he continues to sing, "This gun's for hire, even if we're just dancing in the dark!" <goblin-talk>

<OOC> Thurid says, "Havi! You're up!"

<OOC> Glasha says, "I don't think strength and enhancement bonuses get multiplied on a crit. Like sneak attack or elemental damage dice."

<OOC> Havi says, "alrighty. *claps hands*"

<OOC> Thurid says, "Elemental damage dice and sneak attack dice don't get multiplied, no, but everything else usually does."

<OOC> Thurid says, "Generally speaking, it will specifically state if it is not multiplied on a crit."

<OOC> Thurid says, "Doesn't state for enhancement or attribute bonuses."

<OOC> Thurid says, "However, between you and me, it is still dead even if she only did 10 damage."

<OOC> Glasha shrugs. "With all the different d20 game systems I've been into lately, I'm surprised I know enough to even keep up at all.

Choler again maintains a crouch, watching as combat flows around her. With one bot taken down by her already, and others in process of being smashed by elemental, and magical energies, the Gobbo manages a smile. Then one of them latches onto her face. She flails and squeaks as it stabs and slices at her. Struggling to pull it free of her, she snarls, and punches at it viciously. The first one doesn't seem to do anything, but the second one crumples the bot, sending it rolling away, bits and pieces trailing after it.

"FIGHT MEEEE!!", she screams at the other bots.

<OOC> Rumbo says, "Heh. I know what you mean. While we're clarifying things. 1 round/caster level casts the round it's cast as round 1 right? :)"

<OOC> Thurid says, "Corect, duration includes the round in which it's cast."

<OOC> Havi has cure light wounds, does anybody need healing?

<OOC> Rumbo says, "Rumbo doesn't have any more Snapdragon Fireworks until he casts it again then."

<OOC> Thurid says, "Choler has taken some light damage."

<OOC> Glasha is a conjurer, so my elemental has 6 rounds total, if that was about my elemental.

<OOC> Thurid says, "Nah, it was for his spell."

<OOC> Choler says, "Right now, Choler is the only one injured. She doesn't seem bothered by it. Perhaps save healing for a bit?"

<OOC> Rumbo says, "Was about my fireworks. I'm level 2 wizard so 2 rounds :)"

<OOC> Havi will indeed save healin'. Alright, so...I'm gonna get in range of one of the enemies and smack it with my sword, if I can get there before my movement distance expires.

<OOC> Thurid says, "You can reach either of the spiders, which do you go for?"

<OOC> Thurid says, "You can charge the nearer one, if you like, the other one you cannot charge because you don't have a direct line to it, but you can still move and attack."

Round Four - Init 21.

It is now Glasha's turn! Spiderbots is next!

<OOC> Glasha will be moving 3 squares NW to get a better view of Chuck hopefully hulk-smashing a spiderbot.

Who says druids are supposed to hang back?

Not Havi.

Noticing a spiderbot he can effectively attack, he draws his scimitar and charges it, leaping into the air and slashing it across the side, apparently making it further injured, but not downing it quite yet. He enters a fighting stance, ready to take this thing out should it live long enough.

GAME: Glasha rolls 6: (7)+6: 13

<OOC> Thurid says, "I'm so sorry, that's a miss."

<OOC> Glasha says, "Yeah, Chuck is a 'meat' shield, anyway."

<OOC> Glasha says, "You know, because +6 to attack and +4 damage screams tank. :P"

<OOC> Choler says, "Which is fine, better he takes it than we do. :3"

<OOC> Thurid says, "Anyhow, pose it up. I updated your position on the map."

GAME: Thurid advances the initiative order.

Round Four - Init 17.

It is now Spiderbots' turn! Badgerbots is next!

GAME: Thurid rolls 1d4: (4): 4

<OOC> Thurid says, "for 4"

Tommy direct yet another arc of lightning into one of the automatons. This time he aims it perfectly!...and it seems to strengthen the construct rather than harm it. Tommy gapes for a moment.

<OOC> Choler says, "Eep."

Glash walks, crossing her legs as she side-steps while moving forward. She wants to see better, but from her better vantage point, all she can see is the arm of the stone elemental coming down. Bullseye on the gap between the spider's legs! That would be impressive if it were intentional.

GAME: Thurid rolls 2: (19)+2: 21

<OOC> Thurid says, "Also hits havi!"

GAME: Thurid rolls 1d4: (3): 3

<OOC> Thurid says, "for 3"

<OOC> Thurid says, "Tommy, what's your AC?"

GAME: Thurid rolls 2: (8)+2: 10

<OOC> Thurid says, "Actually a 9, I doubt Tommy's AC is less than 9"

<OOC> Rumbo says, "Sorry I'm jumping ahead here but Rumbo's actions are simple. He is shooting at the badger fighting Tommy. Stating it as I have a couple moments free before I will be lagging again."

<OOC> Thurid says, "Alright, thanks for the heads up."

One of the spiders manages to score a solid hit on the Elemental, plunging its pointed claw into the creature and tearing at its conjured flesh. It skitters and hisses in that strange electronic noise. The other spider has a leg chopped off by a druid, but it chitters and turns to face him, leaping at him and clawing at his face with remaining forelimbs.

And then all hell breaks loose. The rumbling which has been drawing nearer and nearer suddenly disgorges one of those saw-equipped badger creatures from the wall next to Tommy. It lunges for the man with those vicious saw-paws but falls short, and scrapes along the ground kicking up dust with a godless screetching or steel against stone.

It is now Choler's turn! Havi is next!

<OOC> Thurid says, "Choler! What do."

<OOC> Choler says, "Okay, how is the elemental looking? Still going or like, about to die?"

Rumbo grimaces as one of the saw-equipped badgerbots burrows it's way out of a wall beside his little adventuring companion and lunges for the Lucht! "Back off!" Rumbo growls as he swings the Dragonspitter about and squeezes off a trigger to shoot past Tommy's head and blast the badgetbot. KABLAAM!

<OOC> Thurid says, "Hurt, but not too badly."

<OOC> Thurid says, "Well. Moderately hurt, I should say"

<OOC> Choler says, "Choler is going to do is go around the boulder to the north, and flank the spider bot there that's directly ahead of her, behind the elemental."

<OOC> Choler slips a "What" at the beginning of that sentence.

<OOC> Choler says, "And give it a punch."

<OOC> Choler says, "I think she can move there in one go."

<OOC> Thurid says, "Alright, you'll pass through one threatened square on the way if you want to get flanking."

<OOC> Thurid says, "Going to try tumbling, or just accept the AoO?"

<OOC> Thurid says, "Actually"

<OOC> Choler says, "Which one is threatening?"

<OOC> Thurid says, "The spider you're approaching"

<OOC> Thurid says, "Sec, watch the map"

<OOC> Thurid says, "You can move here without provoking, but won't get flanking bonus"

<OOC> Choler says, "She's going around the boulder in 2:12, to end up in 3:11. Oh, right right."

<OOC> Choler says, "Is tumbling an acrobatics check?"

<OOC> Thurid says, "But that space is threatened, so if you continue moving, you'll provoke."

<OOC> Thurid says, "It is, yes."

<OOC> Thurid says, "DC is opponents CMD"

<OOC> Choler says, "She'll do the tumble then. Can she even attack after doing that, though?"

<OOC> Choler says, "She moves 40'. :3 I think that'll be okay."

<OOC> Choler says, "If not, it'll work out anyway somehow."

<OOC> Rumbo says, "Good luck!"

<OOC> Thurid says, "Alright, no AoO provoked, roll your attack."

GAME: Choler rolls weapon0+3: (3)+5+3: 11

<OOC> Thurid says, "Thanks for coming RUmbo! We'll likely pause soon and resume some time."

<OOC> Choler still has the +1 spell and +2 flanking, I assume?

<OOC> Thurid says, "Correct"

<OOC> Choler says, "ANd bummer, thanks for coming out Rumbo!"

<OOC> Thurid says, "Sadly, that is a miss."

<OOC> Choler noms before you go.

<OOC> Choler nods, "Tis fine, will pose."

Round Four - Init 5.

It is now Havi's turn! Tommy is next!

<OOC> Thurid says, "Havi! You're up."

<OOC> Glasha says, "Okay, I'm out for goodness knows how long. +6 for elemental attack, +4 for Chuck's damage, keep me out of the line of fire, I go invisible if he dies."

<OOC> Havi says, "I'm gonna attack the same one again with my scimitar"

<OOC> Havi says, "the one that clawed me in mah face T__T"

<OOC> Thurid says, "Okies! Roll it! You don't have the +2 from charging anymore"

<OOC> Havi nods

Another spiderbot vanquished, and still the sounds of combat echo all around. Choler squints, and then dashes towards one of the larger boulders. Moving round its position, she does a diving roll to avoid the spiderbot's legs, coming up in an bot-shattering punch. At least it would have been, in her mind, had it actually connected.

"RAH!", she shouts as she lands in a couch.

"FIGHT MEEEE you stupid automaton!", she shouts.

Round Five - Init 21.

It is now Glasha's turn! Spiderbots is next!

<OOC> Thurid says, "Glasha! You're up."

Tommy stares at the badger in surprise. And curiousity. Even as he scrabbles back from away from the large, sharp and dangerous looking claws he's asking questions. "Is that a badger?! Is it supposed to be here?" He seems to remember something and then adds,

So, Havi gets slashed in the face. Thankfully, its remaining limbs seem to miss his eyes, which is -very- good. Havi would like not to be called 'One-eyed' after all! But knowing his luck, he may eventually lose one. All the same, He raises his blade once again, rolling back to his feet and slashing a leg or two more off of the spiderbot in retort, twirling the weapon in his hands, its momentsl ike this where he wishes he had more spells prepared.

<OOC> Tommy says, "Ooops!"

<OOC> Thurid says, "It's a robobadger, with buzz saw hands."

<OOC> Tommy nods, trying to hit delete and instead hit enter :P

<OOC> Choler says, "Go ahead and repose, is all good."

<OOC> Thurid says, "No worries."

<OOC> Thurid nodnods.

Tommy stares at the badger in surprise. And curiousity. Even as he scrabbles back from away from the large, sharp and dangerous looking claws he exclaims, "This must be the digger unit. Don't let it out!" He fires another spell, this time a ray of frost that doesn't seem to affect the thing in the slightest. "None of my magic is hurting them!" he calls out.

<OOC> Rumbo says, "OMG I totally have to include a response to Tommy in my pose"

<OOC> Choler says, "Oh god. xD"

<OOC> Thurid says, "Have, you get an AoO"

<OOC> Thurid says, "Havi*"

The spiderbot which Havi is so furiously hacking at begins to hiss and crackle and twitch. It stands upright, and the energy swirling in the crystal which powers it seems to reach some kind of critical mass. It shatters, sending crackles of lightning out in a small area around it, shocking Havi, the elemental, and the other spider.

The other spider, for its part, skitters around in place and lunges towards CHoler- but the goblin monk is too quick for the little spider creature, and it catches only air with its claws.

<OOC> Havi says, "oh heck yeah"

<OOC> Thurid is posing now.

<OOC> Thurid says, "But basically like a robotic badger, only it has saws for front paws and wheels for back paws. Steam coming out of the sides of its head, bronze-colored plating."

<OOC> Rumbo meant the condition. Is it the one that has taken damage or is it fresh?

<OOC> Havi says, "my attack of oppurtunity is on the badger, yeah? I'll swing at it with my scimitar"

<OOC> Thurid says, "This one seems unharmed."

<OOC> Thurid says, "Alright, roll it Havi"

<OOC> Thurid says, "Works like a normal attack."

<OOC> Choler says, "I am afk for about 5 minutes, just getting dinner."

<OOC> Rumbo says, "Ok, I'm focusing on it then and will shoot it!"

<OOC> Choler says, "I am still nearby though, I won't be long at all."

<OOC> Rumbo says, "Do I have to roll -4 for ranged into melee if it's melee is me?"

The rumbling that has been drawing slowly but steadily closer since RUmbo fired its first shot creaches a crescendo as a second digger unit bursts out of the wall opposite the gun wielding goblin. It rumbles across the span of the hall and slams the goblin back against the wall.

<OOC> Thurid says, "No, because you're within 10' of it, but you will provoke an AoO"

<OOC> Rumbo says, "I know it's -4 if it's a target in melee with someone else so you avoid hitting the person it's meleeing."

<OOC> Thurid says, "You're up!"

<OOC> Choler assumes there is still flanking. So she will attempt to smash the bot with two attacks.

<OOC> Thurid says, "Indeed there is still flanking."

Rumbo calls out in response to Tommy's question with a wide Gobber-grin, "More Fire! The answer is always fire!" Then that gobber-grin turns into a grimace as the badgerbot charges into him with it's buzzsaw and grinds up both his wooden peg-leg, sending splinters flying, and his real leg, sending blood flying. "GAAAH!" The gun-toting gobber gurgles as he shoves the dragonspitter into the Badgerbod and pulls the trigger - KABLAAM!

Fire? The Gobbo glances in Rumbo's direction, but her view is blocked by the spiderbot. She's missing fire? "RAH!", she screams, aiming two solid kicks at the automaton before her, managing to smash some of its legs to pieces. She clambers over the fallen bot. "Fire? Where? This is a saltpeter mine!"

<OOC> Choler says, "Ta for the funsies! :)"

<OOC> Havi salutes Rumbo

<OOC> Thurid says, "Tommy! You're up."

Havi is kinda worse for wear. After his enemy decides to hit the self-destruct sequence, Havi is blasted away from him. He attempts to take an oppurtunity to attack one of the Badgerbots, but he misses his strike. Rather than test his luck, he decides to gain some distance away from the battle and use his magic to fix himself up.

Naturally, Havi manages to restore himself to his full strength, cracking his neck. "That's much better." But...he's also spent all of his prepared spells for the day.

Tommy will full withdraw until he's by the rubble between Choler and the golem

The Badgerbot turns to watch as its target retreats, but in turning spots a closer target. So it rolls up towards him, attempting to slam into him with its metallic shoulder- but its wheel catches on a rock and it stumbles, missing its aim.

The other one rears up on hind legs, and opens its metallic maw revealing a wicked barbed drill which emerges from what ought to be its gullet. It rears down upon Rumbo- but the goblin gets a lucky shot off on the automaton, which shudders, and then collapses, inert, ontop of the goblin. It is defeated! ... Unfortunately, it is also very, very heavy. Rumbo is trapped, for now.

<OOC> Thurid says, "Badgerbot attacks..."

Tommy sends a small rock hurtling at the badger. It was a well chosen rock, smooth and rounded and balanced. But it plinks off of the metal hide with the smallest of TINGing noises. Tommy's cheeks redden briefly but then he shrugs and looks down at the rubble again, for a bigger one.

It is now Glasha's turn! Choler is next!

<OOC> Thurid says, "Glasha, you're up"

The badgerbot, by this point leeking various fluids and sluggish in its movements turns in place towards the one who punched it. It lifts its claws into the air, saw blades spinning, and rakes both down across the Goblin's front- one only tears at clothing, but the other bites into skin and draws flesh blood.

Havi has reconnected.

Havi is just so, so bad at this combat thing.

Despite having an advantage twice on his strikes, he manages to miss.

"Damn." Havi curses under his breath.

<OOC> Choler dies again.

<OOC> Glasha says, "1 damage to the elemental, I assume?"

Or maybe Tommy did hit something important! The sluggish motions slow further, and the badgebot rears up again, more oil leaking from its damaged parts. A spark arcs across one of its plates, which ignites the leaking oil. The flame creeps back inside of the leaking pipes and after a tense moment of silence, the bot bursts apart, sending a cloud of shrapnel and smoke flying.

<OOC> Thurid says, "Indeed, he's down 7 HP total, but that's the end of combat anyway."

<OOC> Havi says, "ow."

Somewhere, beneath the inert digger unit, a muffled cry of, "Some... help?" comes from the poor trapped Goblin Gunner, Rumbo.

GAME: Thurid removes the timestop.

Timestop by Thurid has left.

Havi has partially disconnected.

<OOC> Thurid says, "Alright! Feel free to throw out another pose, each, for exploring the remainder of this chamber. There are no more bad guys, here, but we will be pausing before we press on towards the second chamber."

<OOC> Thurid puts together a pose, in the mean time

Glasha watches as what was a majestic example of earthy elemental power collapses into a pile of rocks as the spirit of earth leaves it.

<OOC> Glasha says, "Woah, woah, woah. Press on toward the second chamber? We've been at this, what, 6 hours? I'm sorry, I'm being neglectful still being online already."

Choler sniffs and rubs her nose on her Gi, dabbing at the blood dripping there. "Oh!", she says, moving to the other digging unit, and peering underneath. "Think your elemental can lift it off of him?" She blinks a few times. "Okay, we do it the old fashioned way, come and help me lift it!"

<OOC> Thurid says, "Which is why I said we will be pausing before that happens."

<OOC> Glasha says, "Thank you for running this, but I cannot continue with you guys."

<OOC> Choler says, "I think what Thurid means is that that will be the next session."

<OOC> Glasha says, "Ah."

<OOC> Thurid nods.

<OOC> Glasha says, "That makes more sense."

<OOC> Glasha says, "Sorry."

<OOC> Choler nods.

<OOC> Glasha says, "I do have to go, though."

<OOC> Glasha says, "Sorry. And still, thank you."

<OOC> Thurid nods, "Thanks for coming."

Glasha has left.

Glasha goes IC.

As the dust begins to settle from the fight, and our brave heroes have a chance to look around (And maybe get Rumbo out from beneath his badger-shaped prison) they will discover that some of the other reported bots are already inert or destroyed. The chamber opens up further towards the rear, with more piles of raw saltpeter ore laying around.

It narrows back down towards the northeast of the chamber, and seems to lead into a very narrow switchback- they can just about make out the top of a ramp carved into the stone itself, that seems to lead deeper- but no more threats present themselves, at least for the time being.

<OOC> Choler says, "Stay tuned for the next episode of Rumbo and the Forces of Freedom!"

<OOC> Choler says, "He would be sad to miss that pun, I think."

<OOC> Havi says, "woot woot!"

<OOC> Thurid says, "Thanks for coming, all! Sorry for the frustration XD"

Tommy approaches the trapped gobber. He takes a likely handhold and tugs valiantly, probably not helping but every little bit might help. Once Rumbo is freed, Tommy helps him to his feet and does his best to dust off the Gobber's armor. "Nice shooting!" he gushes. "Maybe you can teach me how!" He hesitates and then adds, "And also, how to use one of those." A nod at Rumbo's firearm. Another brief hesitation. "And also, what those are." Then he begins walking briskly to the far end of the chamber. "I think that's all of them," he reports, after the fact.

<OOC> Tommy grins, that was fun! Thanks for running.

<OOC> Tommy says, "Speaking of running I need to run off. :D"

<OOC> Thurid says, "No worries!"

<OOC> Havi says, "no worries!! :D thank you for running the scene. Twas awesome!"

<OOC> Thurid says, "Glad you enjoyed! I'll schedule a continuation for the same time next week, speculatively, but feel free to mail or page me if that time isn't convenient."

<OOC> Choler says, "It was great. :)"

<OOC> Choler says, "I enjoyed it thoroughly. :)"

<OOC> Havi peaces out!

Havi has left.

Havi goes OOC.

Tommy has disconnected.

End of Log----------------------------------

<OOC> Thurid says, "Here's the map again: https://www.mipui.net/app/index.html?mid=mqggi3fsbhr"

<OOC> Glasha says, "I'm going to grab something to eat real quick. The fig neutons and goldfish crackers probably isn't enough."

<OOC> Thurid says, "I pinged Tommy incase they have an alt I don't know about online. I'll wait until the arranged start time, but then I'll get things going since Rumbo only has limited time."

<OOC> Thurid nods, "That's fine. In the mean time, I'll emit a recap/ARR of where we left off."

<OOC> Choler grins.

<OOC> Rumbo seems to recall it ending with the King of the Mine telling everyone Rumbo saved the day and deserves a special prize. On one side Rumbo got a pile of gold coins and on the other side a pile of Gobber Princesses!

<OOC> Choler says, "It doesn't look like Tommy is on right now."

The dust of combat has settled, our brave heros have time to get their bearings- and with their combined might, lug the heavy digger-unit off of Rumbo before he permanantly becomes part of the gravel and dirt that makes up the floor of the cave. No more enemies seem forthcoming for the time being, but they still haven't seen any evidence of the goblin mechanic who was supposedly trapped inside.

Towards the back of the cave is the ventilation duct they mentioned- the grill on it is intact, and it's only about as wide as Glasha's arm, so it does seem unlikely anyone would have been able to crawl through it. On the eastern side of the room, the walls close in again, leading to a switchback corner that is impossible to peek around without getting closer.

<OOC> Thurid says, "Black mark on the map is the ventilation duct"

<OOC> Havi returns just in time!

<OOC> Glasha is back.

<OOC> Thurid says, "Green is the switchback mentioned"

<OOC> Choler says, "Choler is going to go an look at the ventilation duct."

<OOC> Glasha flexes her surprisingly beefy arms for a wizard.

<OOC> Rumbo is going to cry in the corner for a moment before pulling himself together, brushing the dust of his clothes and repair his dragonspitter.

Glasha doesn't sit around waiting. Her defensive spells have limited durations. She moves into the mine further, making sure things are clear with her axe-staff at the ready.

The vent covering the duct is solid, brass or bronze, perhaps. Drawing nearer, one can feel a gentle but constant flow of fresh air from above, slightly warm and dry thanks to the furnaces that drive the flow. There's a small amount of larger debris that has tumbled down the shaft, and a small pile of fine dust that seems to have fallen through the vent, neither of which appear to have been recently disturbed. The vent is bolted in place with sturdy rivets. The inside of the duct seems to be made of sections of brass pipe, at least so far as Choler can see up it.

<OOC> Thurid says, "Alright, Glasha is proceeding towards the switchback? Give me a perception roll, please."

GAME: Glasha rolls Perception: (20)+1: 21

<OOC> Glasha's sunglasses fall onto her eyes from above.

<OOC> Choler says, "How wide is the duct, could Choler climb up it?"

<OOC> Thurid says, "No, it's about wide enough to put a (human sized) arm in."

<OOC> Thurid will page glasha what she sees.

The Gobbo in the red Gi dusts herself off, nudges everything that's dead with a toe, to make sure it's dead. Moving to the duct afterwards, she peers upwards. "Hmm. Some stuff has fallen down from above. Can't see too far up there, but I guess no one has escaped through there." Choler makes her way over to where Glasha stands. "Anything interesting in there?", she wonders of the Half-Oruch.

As Glasha moves farther in, she stops. "That looks like a bear trap," she says, holding out her axe-staff to point toward the loose gravel in front of her. "Nobody step there."

Rumbo moans quietly as he leans with his back against the wall of the mine and batters down the front of his old uniform with one hand, dust and oil staining the blue wool. He follows along after Glasha after a failed attempt to clean himself and complains, loudly, to no one in particular: "Look what that damned machine did to my old uniform! Where am I going to find a alchemist laundry in this dirty mining town?" but as he reaches Glasha he holds up his dragonspitter to look at the indicated spot. <goblin-talk>

The position of the bear trap is very tactical- it will be quite tricky to move around it to descend the stairs, because the switchback is so narrow.

<OOC> Rumbo shoots the Bear Trap

Havi had taken the time to heal himself and others, as necessary. He wasn't very physically strong at the moment, so he let the others do most of the heavy lifting. "Are you going to live, Rumbo?" He questions his fellow adventurer if he's able to proceed, before he takes a deep breath. Buth e rises to his feet all the same and begins to move onwards with the party.

<OOC> Glasha says, "You gotta love a language where "splode break boom splodey bam" conveys deep, philosophical meaning."

<OOC> Choler grins.

<OOC> Thurid says, "Alright, it's inanimate so you can take 10 on the attack and hit. Roll damage."

<OOC> Rumbo reloads and tries again since it's the Gobber Way :D

<OOC> Choler says, "Can Choler try an acrobatics roll to jump over?"

<OOC> Glasha says, "I'm'a pick up a decent-sized rock (Strength 15) and chuck it at the pressure plate in the middle."

<OOC> Glasha says, "Not aimed at doing damage, just triggering the trap."

<OOC> Thurid says, "Alright, pose it, Glasha, there's plenty of rocks around. That works."

<OOC> Choler says, "May I try an acrobatics roll to jump over the trap?"

<OOC> Thurid says, "You may!"

<OOC> Choler says, "And land carefully on the stairs just after it. :D"

Rumbo nods his head slowly as he aims the dragonspitter in his hand towards the Bear Trap that, for some reason, is in the mine and says, "I'll be alright with a whiskey and a woman." Then fires the dragonspitter which barks KABLAAM! There is gunsmoke and sparks and a ricochet as the bullet bounces off down the tunnel.

Glasha places her axe-staff aside to pick up a rock roughly the size of her head. She gives it an underhand toss, the trap snapping shut, the poor rock knicked by the steel teeth. Picking up her greataxe, Glasha moves forward.

"If you didn't want to get it dirty, why did you wear it into the mine in the first place?", Choler says to Rumbo, squinting at the other Goblin. "Worry about getting over the bear trap first. And STOP SHOOTING AT IT! We're in a mine, dammit, your shots could hit something and start a fire..." She snorts and with a three step lead, she somersaults over the bear trap, landing on the second stair from the top. <goblin-talk>

Choler adds, with a whisper, "Uhm, there are some large, mechanical creepy crawlies here."

<OOC> Choler would like to simply move to the bottom of the stairs, or as close as possible. "She's going to try to hold them there, any scurrying past her should invoke AoO, I would expect."

The Gobbo heads slowly down the stairs, maintaining a ready stance. "I will try to keep them at the bottom of the stairs. If you can attack from a distance, please do so. If not, maybe come down and take a spot next to me. We can use this narrow spot to our advantage!"

<OOC> Rumbo is going up the stairs to stand next to Choler at 12, 8 when he sees the Crawlers he'll shoot one in a surprise twist! 13,12 Crawler which should be within 20 ft.

<OOC> Thurid says, "Yeah, you can move through an ally's space, just can't end on the same space."

Rumbo hurries down the stairs, working at his dragonspitter as he hustles along to charge it with powder and shot. "More? Well well well." He says as he stretches out his arm to aim at the closest Crawler-bot and shoots it. KABLAAM!

<OOC> Thurid says, "I almost forgot"

<OOC> Thurid says, "I need to sort out everyone's HP"

<OOC> Havi says, "would be useful!"

Glasha moves to the top of the stairs as a ball of acid forms above her palm, between fingers curled like claws over an upturned hand. She doesn't perhaps look as well as she should, lobbing acid at the first shiny, automaton-looking thing she sees, the acid sizzling with an acrid smell as it hits the floor of the mine.

<OOC> Thurid says, "Actually, everyone is where they were last time."

<OOC> Thurid says, "So it's fine!"

<OOC> Glasha is getting better at not dying.

<OOC> Havi says, "oh, I assumed there was a rest period in between"

<OOC> Thurid says, "There is not."

<OOC> Havi says, "hrm. Then I'll just move up with the rest of the group. I don't have any ranged weapons, so I'll just bide my time."

<OOC> Thurid says, "Alright."

<OOC> Thurid says, "Casting one of those?"

<OOC> Thurid says, "There are three total, two of them attacking you, one attacking rumbo. You had a prepared action for the first one, which you took, then the second one also moved up. Those two both attacked you, and a third one moved up to rumbo and attacked him but missed. I'm posing it now."

<OOC> Rumbo says, "That was the first one I believe. there are two fighting you Choler. They like you more!"

<OOC> Choler says, "Ooooh, there are two on her. :D"

As the giant centipedes move in, Choler assumes a ready stance, striking out with two quick kicks at the beast. "Hah yah!", she yells, and then squeaks a moment later as it bites her in return.

<OOC> Choler says, "Page hadn't reloaded for some reason."

As the group make their way down the stairs, and prepare themselves for the skittering, brassy automatons at the bottom. They rear up, and wicked grabber-claws in place of mandibles flex, and their back halves undulate to drive them towards the group. One of them is caught off guard by a flurry of blows from Choler which sends it clattering against the wall and throws off it's aim. The other ducks low, and nips at her knee, scraping the skin but failing to get a firm bite, drawing only a little blood.

The other one- the one bearing a sparking bullet hole- skitters towards rumbo and swings at him, but bites a chunk of stone out of the wall adjacent to him instead.

It is now Rumbo's turn! Glasha is next!

<OOC> Thurid says, "Rumbo, you're up! You have one engaged in melee with you, and another nearby which threatens you."

<OOC> Rumbo says, "If I shoot at one of the crawlers fighting Choler, but within 10' does it incur the -4 for ranged into melee? Also which is the most damaged?"

Choler huffs at the beasts before her, and then turns on the one she'd already sent scuttling to the side. Her roundhouse kick just barely misses, but her momentum allows for her followup punch to connect solidly. "Go down and stay down!", she commands.

<OOC> Thurid says, "The one which choler has flurried twice looks like it's barely functioning. The one you shot is moderately damaged, and the one between you two is unharmed. The badly damaged one is more than 10' away"

<OOC> Thurid says, "Just over 10' because it's at a diagonal."

<OOC> Thurid says, "Wait, no, I can't count"

<OOC> Thurid says, "It's just within 10'"

<OOC> Choler says, "Do what you need to do to hit, Rumbo. I think you can do a 5' step? Not sure about AoO."

<OOC> Thurid says, "He has no where he can 5' step to that isn't also threatened."

<OOC> Rumbo says, "Ok I'll shoot it if it's most damaged and within 10' otherwise I'll shoot the one I shot before :)"

<OOC> Thurid says, "Alright. And you have a feat that prevents provoking when using ranged in melee, I believe?"

<OOC> Rumbo says, "I do. Firearm Mastery. Reloading is a free action and doesn't provoke attacks of oppotunity when reloading or firing in melee :)"

It is now Havi's turn! Crawler Units is next!

Now that she can see what's going on, Glasha begins chanting and gesturing.

<OOC> Thurid says, "Havi, you're up! What do?"

Rumbo having notices the Gobber at his side pummeling on of the Crawler-bots he gives a wide gobber-grin and leans towards her. The Dragonspitter is aimed over her shoulder and, with the barrel beside Choler's ear, Rumbo squeezes the trigger to set the weapon off. KABLAAM! There is gunsmoke and sparks as he shoots the Crawler-bot in front of his Gobber companion and finishes it off!

<OOC> Havi says, "would flare daze them potentially?"

<OOC> Havi says, "oh wait, haha, nvm."

<OOC> Havi says, "I'm gonna go ahead and cast Resistance on Rumbo"

Meanwhile, the party will begin to notice something- it's the scent, first, like black powder without the sulfur. At first it might just be Rumbo's weapon, but then he notices that there is smoke starting to flow from around the corner- he and Choler see it, but neither can see the source as yet.

<OOC> Choler says, "I don't have anything polite to say to that, so."

The remaining artifice centipedes rear up again, one lunghes at Choler with those nasty mandibles, but she is too quick for it, weaving out of the way of its mandibles. Rumbo, is not so lucky. The centipede takes advantage of him turning his back to latch onto his shoulder, the vice-like pincers squeezing tight and tearing flesh- leaving a deep gash that bleeds freely on his shoulder.

<OOC> Thurid says, "She could take a diagonal 5' step to do so."

<OOC> Thurid says, "But wouldn't be able to flurry, I don't think?"

<OOC> Choler nods. "It'll still do it's normal attack, I just didn't want to pull extra damage. Could she then attack the damage one, and the undamaged one, one attack each?"

<OOC> Choler says, "Oh, right right, can't attack and move."

Choler screams as the gun goes off next to her ear. She looks to Rumbo with a snarl, her frown full of sharp teeth and fangs. "What the hell is wrong with you?! Don't put that anywhere near my head ever again. Or you'll be ingesting it through a hole you will not enjoy ingesting it through." She holds her head a moment as she moves to attack the damage automaton threatening Rumbo.

The bear trap elicits another scream as it clamps around her thigh, barely missing her groin. Growling, she delivers a nasty punch to the head of the centipede. "Idiots.", she mutters.

Rumbo gurgles up blood after the damned artifice driven crawler and groans after his dribbles down his chin, "Damned machine!" The dragonspitter in his hand which has been reloaded by the time it is swung back round, jams up against the steel shell and pulls the trigger. KABLAAM!

As choler takes a step forwards and the bear trap clamps around her leg, she will spy the source of the smoke- if she is not too distracted. Alchemist flames are pitering out, but have ignited a pile of loose saltpeter rubble which is crackling and fizzling and spewing out thick, heavy white smoke.

GAME: Thurid advances the initiative order.

Round Three - Init 10.

It is now Havi's turn! Crawler Units is next!

<OOC> Thurid says, "Havi! You're up."

The stone seems to part as an eagle of shimmering white swoops in from above before the stone closes in again. Glasha dodges an attack as she rushes to assist with bear trappage on Choler's poor leg. She seems to be on a roll with bear traps, today, as when she dives out of the way of the attack against her, her hands land on the trap, her momentum, inertia, and weight pushing the jaws open to free Choler's leg. Heck, she makes this all look easy...unless she's attempting to attack, that part she's failing at, as behind her, the celestial eagle scratches fruitlessly at the metal body of the crawler.

<OOC> Havi says, "hmmm."

<OOC> Havi says, "who needs help?"

The lurching, haphazard motions of the badly damaged centipede slowly come to a stop as it nashes its jaws at Rumbo. Electricty surges through it's plating, arcing between it's jaws, and then it explodes into shrapnel, blasting him and Choler with its remains.

THe last standing (crawling) automaton lashes out for Choler again, but with her leg freed from the bear trap, she is able to just about avoid its pincers.

The Gobbo tries pulling the trap from her leg, and is very grateful when Glasha yanks open the trap. Choler staggers free and leans against the Half-Orc for a moment. "Thanks!", she says cheerfully, managing a grin. Turning, she limps a step or two towards the last crawler. Staggering about, she flails as the crawler, not managing to be effective at all.

The celestial eagle continues to slash and claw, doing more damage as it learns weak points. Meanwhile, Glasha spins, silvered axe-staff in both hands, following through to cleave through mechanical linkages, chassis, engine--whatever was in there. She was no artificer. Oil and sparks spray from the wound as she cleaves through the mechanical thing.

Choler crouches down as the last crawler explodes, and she moves carefully towards the burning pyre of saltpeter. "He's over there!", she squeaks, gesturing vaguely before she's engulfed in more, yellowy, smoke.

<OOC> Thurid says, "The red is alchemists fire, but you can move through it as long as you don't stop there."

<OOC> Rumbo says, "Ok, Rumbo is going to swear at Havi, move forward and throw an alchemists fire flask back in the direction that the flask that nearly hit him came from and shout back."

<OOC> Thurid says, "He can fly over the fire, so yeah"

<OOC> Glasha says, "Okay, Glasha is going to move to 15,9 so she can see what's going on."

Rumbo swears under his breath in Gobber-talk and pushes forward weakly, "I'm in plenty of condition to fight!" He grunts to Havi and then hobbles through the fire on his wooden peg-leg. Lobbing back his own flask of Alchemist's Fire Rumbo shouts out in "You Bog Off! We're here to rescue a Gobber mechanic!"

<OOC> Glasha says, "Then Gary is going to claw...whatever it is that is an enemy to Glasha's friends."

<OOC> Thurid says, "A goblin"

<OOC> Thurid says, "Roll 'em"

<OOC> Glasha says, "Of course it is. :P"

Round Five - Init 13.

It is now Gobber Mechanic's turn! Havi is next!

GAME: Rumbo used a Alchemist's Fire.

<OOC> Rumbo says, "Yeah, We can rescue someone we're fighting!"

<OOC> Thurid says, "The goblin mechanic will make a full withdraw into the smoke, and attempt to re-establish stealth."

GAME: Thurid rolls 18: (9)+18: 27

<OOC> Thurid says, "Er, -10 to that since he's moving at full speed, puts him at 17"

Glasha circles around the deadly fire, peering through the smoke as she verbally commands the eagle. "Get closer! There! Fly there and attack the goblin at the far end of the cavern!" The eagle is already on its way, talons outstretched, though braking seems to take some conscious effort, and the eagle does not manage to sink those talons into soft gobbo flesh. <celestial>

<OOC> Thurid says, "Perceptions"

GAME: Glasha rolls Perception: (11)+1: 12

GAME: Rumbo rolls Perception: (5)+4: 9

<OOC> Glasha says, "Gary sees."

<OOC> Glasha says, "Gary knows."

<OOC> Choler says, "Does he see caws for concern?"

<OOC> Glasha says, "Luna might, if she were here. Eagles don't caw, so the pun didn't take flight."

<OOC> Rumbo says, "Woohoo! The gobber mechanic didn't spend a turn putting out the fire I see. Stop Drop and Roll was something Rumbo learnt in kindergarten!"

GAME: Thurid rolls 1: (6)+1: 7

<OOC> Thurid says, "He is also Sickened by the smoke."

GAME: Thurid rolls 1d6: (4): 4

<OOC> Choler says, "Claws for concern, then. :3"

The goblin shrieks again as he is singed by the fire, and an eagle comes out of no-where to slash at his face- he flails violently to defend himself, and then scrambles away from his hidey hole still covered in fire, and hacking and wheezing as he breaths in the noxious saltpeter fumes- fumes which are finally beginning to dissapate.

GAME: Thurid advances the initiative order.

Round Six - Init 18.

It is now Choler's turn! Rumbo is next!

<OOC> Thurid says, "Havi can act when he returns. Choler, what do?"

<OOC> Havi says, "sorry, sorry. Phone call from the bank, ugh."

<OOC> Thurid says, "Alright, since Choler isn't answering either, we'll do Havi first."

<OOC> Thurid says, "What are you doing?"

<OOC> Havi says, "hm. Is Rumbo still almost dead?"

<OOC> Choler says, "Ack."

<OOC> Thurid says, "He is! But he hasn't taken any more damage since the last time you helped him."

<OOC> Choler says, "Choler will go and attack the Gobbo Mechanic."

<OOC> Choler says, "Has he moved closer to her?"

<OOC> Thurid says, "Choler cannot see the gobber mechanic"

<OOC> Havi nods. Okay. In that case, I can't do anything else for them, so I'm going to focus on other things. Can I see the gobber mechanic?

<OOC> Choler says, "She'll step out of the smoke and move to where he last was."

<OOC> Rumbo says, "Choler just say out in Gobber "Marco?" and the Mechanic should reply :D"

<OOC> Thurid says, "Are you sure about that? Where he last was is still on fire."

<OOC> Thurid says, "Well, I suppose you can move to the edge of the smoke he dissapeared into."

<OOC> Choler says, "She's not going to move into the fire, but she should be able to see if he's standing in it, if not, he's moved, somewhere."

<OOC> Choler says, "Is he making noises still? If he's on fire?"

<OOC> Thurid says, "You can hear him coughing, just inside the smoke, but he has concealment."

<OOC> Rumbo says, "Havi I think we all lost sight of him. You could make a Perception check I think to see if you can find him?"

<OOC> Thurid says, "You can try and attack, but it's -8 to your attack roll to hit a concealed target"

<OOC> Choler says, "Sure. Will give it a go."

<OOC> Thurid says, "Roll"

GAME: Choler rolls weapon0: (6)+5: 11

<OOC> Thurid says, "And yes, Havi, you never could see the goblin, from where you are standing. And you still can't."

<OOC> Havi says, "hm."

<OOC> Thurid says, "Miss, Choler. Pose punching the smoke."

<OOC> Choler says, "Well that's certainly a miss. xD A 3 is no bueno."

<OOC> Havi says, "then no clue what to do."

<OOC> Glasha says, "Huff and puff and blow the smoke away?"

<OOC> Thurid says, "The only one who can currently see the goblin is the eagle. You can all hear him coughing, and you all know he is inside the right-hand patch of smoke, somewhere."

The Gobbo monk dashes dramatically from her own smoke cloud, and comes to a stop, eyeing the empty, yet burning, area the mechanic recently vacated. Her ears twitch, the sound of coughing drawing her to the other pile of saltpeter, where she aims a devastating kick in the smoke's direction. While the mechanic coughs on, the smoke has learned a valuable lesson in not crossing Goblin monks.

<OOC> Thurid says, "Havi, I want to give Rumbo a chance to finish this scene, so if you can't decide what to do, do you mind it if I resolve his action first?"

GAME: Thurid advances the initiative order.

Round Six - Init 17.

It is now Rumbo's turn! Glasha is next!

<OOC> Thurid says, "RUmbo! What do?"

<OOC> Havi says, "sure."

<OOC> Rumbo will step out from the smoke, aim his dragonspitter and try to make an intimidate check to convince the Gobber to give up.

<OOC> Rumbo says, "If I can embelish the pose with firing the dragonspitter I'll do that too but it's not about shooting the Goblin mechanic it's just the intimidation :D"

<OOC> Thurid says, "Roll your intimidate!"

GAME: Rumbo rolls Intimidate: (16)+1: 17

GAME: Thurid rolls 1: (4)+1: 5

<OOC> Thurid says, "Alright, pose your intimidation attempt, and I'll pose the result."

<OOC> Thurid says, "And sure, you can fire your gun for rule of cool ;)"

Rumbo gathers his strength to pull himself to his full height of three foot two AND a half inches and steps out from the concealing smoke to reveal himself in his broken and bloody glory. "Give up!" Rumbo yells sternly, then fires the dragonspitter in his hand, "Or die. Your choice bozo!"

The hacking and wheezing continues unabated amidst the smoke, and the goblin finally rolls out of it, flat on his belly, the last bits of flame finally going out. He sputters again, and puts his hands on his head, "Alright, alright! You got me." cough, hack, wheeze, "I give up, I give!" he cries out. Eyebrowless and singed.

GAME: Thurid removes the timestop.

Timestop by Thurid has left.

<OOC> Thurid says, "Alright, combat over."

<OOC> Choler wobbles.

Glasha's shoulders roll forward as she lets out a breath of relief. The ceiling seems to open up and the celestial eagle flies back up to the heavens. "Thank you!" she calls out toward the bird, though it's already gone, the ceiling just stone again. She moves to help escort the prisoner back out. The dwarves were safe again, it seems, and that made the oruch-blooded wizard happy.

<OOC> Thurid says, "Combat is over, but roll perception again before moving."

GAME: Choler rolls perception: (11)+3: 14

GAME: Havi rolls Perception: (10)+8: 18

GAME: Glasha rolls Perception: (20)+1: 21

As Glasha takes a step towards the prisoner, she stops herself just in time to notice /another/ bear trap right infront of her. The Goblin swears when he realizes that she's spotted it.

Glasha glares at him. "How about this," she says, "You come here, and we'll follow you out, stepping where you step."

GAME: Rumbo rolls Perception: (20)+4: 24

<OOC> Thurid says, "Glasha, Rumbo AND Choler all managed to weave in between bear traps they didn't even see XD"

<OOC> Havi fears. "...and w-what about me? XD"

<OOC> Thurid says, "You never advanced into them."

Choler squints at the mechanic. "So you were stealing saltpeter, eh? I knew it!", she says with a huff. She eyes Glasha a moment, and shuffles carefully to the Half-Orc's side.

<OOC> Havi says, "okay.."

Havi Moves along wit hthe group now that combat is over. He was satisfied with the results, so he just follows along carefully.

Now that the Goblin Mechanic has given up Rumbo keeps his Dragonspitter trained on the fellow and gives a Gobber-wide smile, "Good. Now that's all cleared up we can rescue you for the reward. Come along, don't dawdle... I'm bleeding too much to tarry."

The mechanic huffs then, "Yeah, an' I woulda got away with it if this piece of junk hadn't broken." he says, fishing through his pack (still laying belly down) to pull out a wand, with a gear at the end of it, snapped in half and completely inert now. "And then the bloody dwarves locked me in here with them things!" he squeaks.

<OOC> Thurid says, "KNowledge/arcana or knowledge/artifice, anyone?"

Rumbo's eyes light up as he spies the wand and he tries to waddle forward to collect it all while keeping the dragonspitter on the mechanic.

<OOC> Choler sighs.

<OOC> Choler says, "Nope."

GAME: Rumbo rolls Knowledge/Arcana: (5)+12: 17

<OOC> Choler says, "I suspect Glasha does haver arcana."

<OOC> Choler says, "*have"

GAME: Glasha rolls Knowledge/Arcana: (5)+13: 18

<OOC> Glasha says, "LOL!"

<OOC> Havi has Knowledge/arcana

<OOC> Choler says, "Roll then."

<OOC> Havi says, "oh wait...no I don't. I assume.d nvm"

<OOC> Rumbo says, "I have about 15 minutes before I should log off but I do have a Repair Light Damage spell and is just kooky enough to cast it :D"

<OOC> Havi says, "got it confused with spellcraft"

<OOC> Thurid says, "Go ahead and cast it!"

Glasha shakes her head at the exploded wand. "Looks like the wand overrode the control cores of the automatons. I wouldn't mind having it to study, but I don't think it's of any use in its current state."

GAME: Havi rolls spellcraft: (9)+8: 17

GAME: Rumbo casts Repair Light Damage. Caster Level: 2 DC: 16

<OOC> Rumbo says, "Cure Light is 1d6 or 1d8?"

<OOC> Thurid says, "1d6"

<OOC> Glasha says, "I have Make Whole."

GAME: Rumbo rolls 1d6+2: (2)+2: 4

<OOC> Glasha says, "Which is likely more use."

<OOC> Glasha says, "It's not prepared, though."

<OOC> Thurid says, "Alright, let's do a round of finishing up poses. The remainign traps are easy enough to avoid, so go ahead and pose escorting your prisoner out, and I'll wrap up."

Rumbo grabs up the wand and mutters in Eldritch as his hand closes over it. The dragonspitter he has pointed at the Gobber mechanic whirs and glows briefly and when Rumbo opens his hand the wand is not intact. "Alright get moving Bozo! I'm sure the foreman would like to see this when we rescue you." As he speaks he gestures with a waggle of the dragonspitter.

Glasha follows Rumbo with her eyes, curiously. "Hey, let's take that thing back to the Arcanist's Society. We can work together to fix it, study it, maybe draw straws for it. In any event, I'm eager to be out of here."

<OOC> Rumbo says, "When we get out Rumbo is happy to let Glasha study the wand but recommends showing it to the foreman as he has said."

<OOC> Glasha nods.

The monk limps along, following Glasha precisely, as she's already at her limit for bear traps. Any more would be... unbearable. "What does the wand do?", Choler wonders, of the Gobbo mechanic. "And what else were you planning on doing?"

"It overrode the control cores," Glasha says. "I want to study it, but it's too dangerous to repair it in here. Even if we do repair it, it may not have any charges left. Makes an interesting object of study, but less so adventuring gear."

Havi happily walks out wit hthe rest of the group. It was a fight well fought and a mission well done. "Well done, everyone. Though I agree that it deserves study."

<OOC> Glasha says, "Sorry if I'm over-posing."

<OOC> Rumbo says, "It's all good. I should be going so I'll ver very afk for ten or fifteen minutes then logging off."

As the goblin is shuffled out, hands behind his back, "Lets me reprogram these bots." he says, "But it busted, an they stopped listening to me. I been hiding in this stinking hole for a week!" he complains as he is guided out of the place.

The dwarves meet them outside, and looks rather surprised to discover the goblin is still alive. As the party explain what happened to them, they'll take the goblin into custody themselves, with promise of getting to the bottom of his motivations and plans and meting out appropriate justice. They will ask to hang onto the wand, for the time being, until the goblin's tribunal- but promise to send it to the arcanists guild when the proceedings complete.
